What clients say about Annex Markets in New York (NY)
-
The market has very interesting and unique items, jewelry, artifacts, vintage clothing, records, photos, postcards, you name it. Love the large display of African art sculptures and African fabrics. Some of things are reasonably priced, others a bit pricey. But a nice way to spend a weekend afternoon.

purchased an item here. u could bargain on d price but for a second hand items and jewelries, most of the price were expensive!
Oct 04, 2020 -
a new york mainstay and a must-do on a leisurely weekend. I scored a gorgeous brass chandelier and a stash of fashion illustrations to decorate my apartment, and have also scored some great fabrics and vintage clothing to incorporate into my handbag designs. Rumor has it, that it's closing. . here's hoping they find a new location soon
Feb 11, 2020 -
I was there last Saturday and they told me the market is closing for good. I scored a few nice gifts, had a nice time browsing. sellers were lovely I wish them good luck moving to another place.

I thought it was great 1dollar to get in it reminds me of fleamarkets with all types of stuff coins, jewelry, war trinkets, art, sculpture plenty brand new items an alot of used stuff definitely worth checking out I was there a hour wide selection

Excellent place to spend about a half hour or so. $1 to enter so bring cash. I found a vendor selling baule mask that I absolutely love. I bought two. Worth a try if you’re a mask collector, I will be back and recommend to others!

Great place to shop, hit and miss. Watch out for super rude woman at entrance however. To some that may be part of the attraction, but I agree with others that she is a huge turn off. Get rid of her, there are plenty of college students who can use the gig. I am not going back and will take it off list of what to show guests when they visit. Have a great day and treat people with respect.

Good flea market where you can get all used stuffs for cheap price. But you have you have to buy an access ticket for $1.00. It is open only on Saturday and Sunday with nice Weather.
Jun 13, 2019 -
A NY bargain - $1 admission. Great location.Take back to the old fashion flea market. Unusual state jewelry at reasonable price. Lots of African art as well as brick n back.
Jun 13, 2019 -
Poorly organized (vendors weren't hand-picked I can assure you, no shade, sitting, music, food or drinks) but they charge you a dollar at the entrance. Most of the stands here aren't serious so it's a matter of pure luck if you happen to find something you like and the prices aren't low either.
Jun 13, 2019 -
This place is a hit and miss. They exhibits and stalls here keep changing. When I went there, there were some good collections of African handicrafts and some good paintings. It is not a very big place. I think there were a maximum of 10 stalls.

$1 to enter, great place in weekends to kill an hour or so. Looking to decide your new place with something funky? This is your place. Looking for a vintage watch? This is your place. Like vintage clothes? This is your spot. Old posters, art, estate jewelry, just something weird... Stop in.
Apr 22, 2019 -
Fin place for weekend down time. Different vendors, arts and crafts.
Apr 18, 2019 -
I enjoyed it. Went to check out the vibe before I inquire about a vending space. Vendors are easy to talk to. They have portolets and it's not crowded. Can't wait to get a spot.
Feb 16, 2019 -
We have been coming here since 2000 and love it. We always find things worth while. Lovely African art and other treasures. We will be coming for years to come. The $1 fee is worth it. Rain or shine someone is always there selling their goods :)
Dec 08, 2018 -
Got there very late so many vendors were packing. Still a good selection. Very nice vendors with lots of helpful information. Will be back!
Nov 10, 2018 -
Absurd number of collectic pieces of random stuff. Experience and story telling hawkers worth the $1 admission.
Jul 15, 2018 -
I visited Chelsea Flea Markets this Saturday around noon. I was shocked by the way the woman collecting the entry fee spoke to the man doing the red stamps. Very loudly and publicly telling him he was "useless" and "worthless." Lots of people could hear her. It was super inappropriate and cruel. The markets, too, were nothing special. Bad taste in my mouth.
Jun 11, 2018 -
Really nice market. Was there on a rainy morning in may. Not so many booths, but good things and nice people. Got a vintage LED type wristwatch from the late 70's for 20$ from a professional dealer. Untested, but in box with paperwork. Real old things out there. 1900 to late 80's. From jewellery, watches, furniture, stacks of paintings and nice to weird things. But no new or hipster made fakesstuff at all. So no cleaned or overhauled things. No household rubbish also. Prices were lot lower than expected. Old postcards for a dollar. Even boxes with old magazines from the 1870's. Or the old office/ lawyer seal press for 10$ I also bought.
May 13, 2018 -
Smaller than I expected, but a good visit. The dollar admission wasn't a hardship, but a bit unusual- if the market was larger it would have been reasonable, but with fewer than 50 vendors it was a bit much.
Apr 29, 2018 -
The Chelsea market is still the best flea market in town, but it is much diminished and going in the wrong direction fast. The market is clumsily run; the management has gradually alienated both dealers and customers. The most recent mistake is a $5.00 admission fee for early buyers (until 9:00). Especially given what the market usually looks like these days, this is an insult and will drive away many customers serious enough to show up early, which will in turn hurt the remaining serious dealers and send them elsewhere. The ultimate effect of this disastrous business decision will only be to hasten the demise of the market, which we can already feel coming.

Nice experience. Good pricing if you go there before closing. Good to pick up things you can't get in normal department stores. Lord of old, used, antique type stuff. Dig deep and you'll be sure to find some awesome finds.
Nov 17, 2017 -
a very unpleasant experience right at the entrance as one of the woman collecting the entry fee was rude, and almost bordering on racism in her comments. It left a very bitter taste and least expected in a communal, creative space. Need to be more respectful of difference and diversity
Sep 16, 2017 -
I thought I was being harassed by a vendor on my way in only to discover that he was actually in charge of collecting the cover fee...yeah sorry I'm not paying a cover to browse junk. It's the principle...I very likely would have bought some junk too, if there hadn't been a shakedown fee at the entrance.
Aug 24, 2017 -
Found some cool items.... look for the guy with shark teeth items. He has really cool relics.
May 30, 2017 -
As authentic as it gets. Be prepared to have change ready to go for that what if purchase. Entry fee $1. I went around 8:30am - merchants were still setting up. So many things....found a little treasure. Yes, it is real - did not have to sell my soul for it.
Apr 13, 2017 -
Close to empty more than an hour before closing time. The event is in need of more marketing. But I am giving 5 stars because I found a great mint green leisure jacket from my man Zig. Cheers.
Oct 02, 2016 -
$1 admission to enter. The place has a calm vibe. It's more of an outdoor thrift/pawn shop than a flea market. Lots of used cloth, phones, art supplies, and more are sold. They are not as timeless as they are just old.
