This place is shady as hell with their charges. We went to a party here and I bought my friends and I a round. 4 drinks (vodka sodas and similar) cost over $100. I found out after we left that my partner, who bought the first round of 4 drinks, was charged less than $80. I'll never come here again.

Went there for a Halloween party and had a issue with my drink, I went back to the bar cause of if and I’m assuming he was the manager unfortunately I didn’t get a name but him along with the rest of the bar staff were unbelievably accommodating in getting it fixed and gave unbelievably amazing service! Accidents happen and it’s a great tell when a team handles it so gracefully and kindly!

Went here on a night out and they absolutely price gouged us. A shot was 22 dollars, and they kept charging the card before showing us the amount. Automatically added gratuity, and then asked on the POS machine for an additional 2-7% lol. Would avoid, plenty of bars in this area.

We came here for an event and the food was good. Very nice variety of food and quite tasty. Id like to come here on a regular night and try their food.

⸻ Horrible experience from start to finish. We waited nearly 45 minutes to get seated, even though there were plenty of empty tables. The place was not clean—floors were sticky, tables weren’t wiped properly, and the bathroom was disgusting. Once seated, it took another 20 minutes just to get drinks. When the food finally came, it was cold and tasted like it had been sitting out for a while. Fries were soggy, meat was dry, and the salad looked old. I politely said something to the server, and she just rolled her eyes and walked away. Customer service was rude and unprofessional. And to top it off, they added a 20% gratuity for a party of three without telling us. We left feeling disrespected and completely disappointed. Never going back.

If I could give zero stars, I came here for the first time with a friend and the service was HORRIBLE. This is the worst food I've ever had. The food is not fresh, Please do not waste your time or money.
May 12, 2025 -
the service in there was horrible they where so disrespectful my family was disgusted by the food it was horrible and not only that they got my order wrong I had ordered the chicken sliders which also comes with pickles inside and I asked for no pickles I tell them there’s pickles in it when I specifically said no pickles I’m allergic to them and the waitress just said “then take the pickles out” omg I was in anger so rude. They brought me a new plate of the chicken slider with out pickles and they charged me for both chicken sliders even tho I didn’t eat the other on cause of the pickles

I arrived during the stated business hours but they are very, very closed. I don't think this place is still in business.

The Dean is a cool spot ive been too for quite a few events. Ive had their wings which are deeeelish & over all enjoyed their space. Being able to sit, see my favorite artist preform, have a low lighted space. Great vibes right in the city.

I recently visited The Dean, a bar/club in NYC, and it was an incredibly disappointing experience. The place was downright trashy and grimy, far from what you'd expect from a reputable establishment. The floors were sticky, the bathrooms were filthy, and the entire atmosphere felt unclean. The service was also subpar. The bartender was inattentive and seemed more interested in chatting with friends than serving customers. Drinks were overpriced and poorly made, adding to the overall dissatisfaction. I wouldn't recommend The Dean to anyone looking for a clean, enjoyable night out. There are plenty of better options in NYC where you can have a great time without feeling like you need a shower afterward. Avoid this place at all costs. I was here with my friends, some of which were female. they have NEVER felt more unsafe. They have been going out forever and love almost every other establishment in the area. But NOT the Dean. I don't frequently write reviews, but the dean deserved one. If you are a 13-year-old looking for a place to drink this may be an option, but it's still trashy if you want underage drinking. I hope this place is shut down, and I hope the only guests at the dean are the cockroaches that I became friends with while attending. Would NOT recommend, SHUT THIS PLACE DOWN.

We hosted our 50th anniversary party at The Dean and it was fantastic! Every detail was considered. Sam was great to work with and Johnnie created generous delicious platters of food for our guests. The bartenders and waitstaff also did a wonderful job. Our guests never wanted to leave! Thank you Sam!!

Tuesday parties with Shake the Block.DJ's Bobby Trends, Fast Life, and more💨 The "Detention" party is always a vibe with diverse music and love being shown to local artists. The recap video says it all❣️❣️❣️

It was absolutely indignant. My guest and I arrived on time at the restaurant yesterday. Despite having reservations, and especially since it was my birthday (and we mentioned we were coming from New Jersey for my birthday), when we entered, the restaurant staff was astonished. They informed us that the restaurant was booked for another private party and declined us on my 40th birthday, along with all the guests from New Jersey. We had a hard time finding any available restaurants on a Friday night after 8:30 pm. They didn’t even bother to call or email to cancel our reservations. Worst experience ever.

This has by far been my favorite place to eat and have a drink in NYC. The atmosphere is a whole vibe itself. It’s a great place to chill and be able to catch up with friends or sit at the bar and watch sports while enjoying a drink. The food was fantastic and service was phenomenal. Sam, the manager came to our table and spoke with us. We were there to celebrate birthdays on a girls trip. He wished us a happy birthday and gave us a round of drinks. If I lived in NYC, this would be the place I would visit regularly to hang out with friends or just to chill and have a good drink. Well done!

Had a reservation but the place was empty...only very limited lunch menu and looked decent, but was absolutely inedible. It was my daughter's 1st intro to NY and it was a waste. Staff was there working in different areas and we were the only customers but the place was dirty.

Came here for the Fashion Week kick-off party, and it was super fun. Had Cosmos the whole time during the happy hour because they make a great cosmo. Our waitress was by far the sweetest!!

Came here for the first time. I swear if they get hookah in this spot it would make it 10x better the location is perfect, the size is decent. Drinks are good, you just have to know what to order & which bartender to order from. I got long island ice tea from the guy & there really good. Decided to get some honey bbq wings they were delicious! Would come again

I hosted an engagement party here and both Michael and Sam were amazing to work with. They were very accommodating with the bar minimum and the space and allowed us to setup decorations and even had TVs for us to project pictures throughout the entire evening. The space itself is already well decorated so we didn't need to decorate too much. The entire staff was friendly and everyone enjoyed the platters as well, especially the truffle fries and the buffalo chicken flatbreads. I would definitely host another event here and would recommend others to host here as well!

I hosted my birthday party at The Dean and I don’t think I have enough words to explain how amazing the environment was. The staff was so helpful and welcoming, management was incredibly accommodating, and the overall vibe was a true hit! The drinks were tasty, the bartenders were friendly, and the space is beautiful. If you’re ever in Midtown/Times Square area, The Dean is the place to go!!! I would recommend it to everyone.

I love going to the Dean NYC. The ambiance is beautifully decorated and designed. The food is amazing and tastes fresh each time. The staff and management are very friendly, attentive, and welcoming upon arrival. I would highly recommend going there for happy hour. The menu list is affordable and in a great location!

Went on 4/15/23 for the brunch & day party to celebrate my 43rd bday! Let me just say everything from the service ( shout out to our server Mercedes) to the food/drinks and the atmosphere was INSANE! That Rasta Pasta was amazing, the vingerette on the salad..delicious! The Rum punch was punching hard! I loved every single minute I was there. I literally cannot wait to attend another event there or just go for brunch/dinner! Very mature and grown atmosphere!

Went for a day party with Maxwell Entertainment. I had never been to the Dean before. It's a great spot, plenty of metered parking right out front on a Saturday afternoon. Food was great, a little expensive, bar tenders were friendly. Staff was attentive. Sam the manager was GREAT!

Attended a brunch day party January 7 for my sis birthday. Paid $50 deposit for a table but when we got there we were waiting an hour before we were seated. We were promised a table but was sat at the bar. The brunch was suppose to be $45 per person but for two people I paid $115 the brunch was suppose to include a salad never got it. Spoke with the promoter who I paid the deposit to and he promised me my deposit back because I never got a table but he never gave it back like he promised This place is a rip off!!! ALL FALSE ADVERTISING! No salad, no first priority table if you pay a deposit, and you get overcharged!

Beautiful atmosphere. Great for a night for sports. Prepare to wait at least 15-20 minutes for service. They didn't notify us about the kitchen closing and we had to settle for what was available. That was a waste. I came in with a party of 5 and one them became sick from the food. The other food items werent worth the price nor prepared as requested. I was excited to celebrate my birthday here and was told through a random text to visit, thought it was fate. I visited and was highly disappointed. The manager tried to salvage it but we had already been waiting nearly 30 min just for the bill. I can't say if I'd actually recommend this spot.

Great spot for a private event or party. The staff was super friendly and accommodating. The drinks, food and sound system were all top-notch. We liked that they have TVs but doesn't feel like a sports bar.

I see this place got good reviews, but not for Halloween. I would not recommend this place. We bought tickets online for a “halloween” party. We entered, there’s not one halloween decoration in the place. Party starts at 6, we arrive at 9. Lights still on, Music is low. We order a drink, bar has no Malibu Rum, and with only one bartender. The vibe was just totally wrong for a NYC halloween “party”. Unfortunately, we left. Waste of money from our group. Will not be recommending or going to this place again.

The dean was a fantastic time! A group of friends went here for a college alum game and haven’t stopped since 2019!! Fantastic atmosphere, cheap drinks, and delicious food! On top of that, the management & staff are incredibly kind/attentive. One time, We mentioned that it was my friends birthday and they brought out shots to celebrate her! I will continue to comeback in the future. My only complaint is that the speakers are way too loud when you’re the closest table to the DJ. Other then that, fantastic!

Great place with beautiful design and good food. Everyone is super friendly and helpful. The only thing I would improve is the drink selection. It would be great if they added few signature cocktails to the menu. But overall it's a cool place for both small and large groups.
Aug 11, 2022 -
I had a company happy hour here, took advantage of their 4-8pm happy hour on a Wednesday. Apart from my group of people there's another group at the same time, almost semi private. The space has really high ceiling and really good vibe, classic leather booth and floral wall decor. The owner Sam is great to work with and all the bar tenders are super friendly. Since they are new they are still don't have tap beers but they have regular bottle beers, wine and some standard cocktail they can make. Happy hour is $7 beer and $8 wine -and $9 well drinks. It's really good price for this area.
