Hey there! I’m thrilled to share that this coffee shop in SoHo is one of my absolute favorites. I’ve been a loyal customer for years now, and I’m always impressed by the exceptional quality of their coffee and the friendly service they provide. In fact, I even got a thermos from them!

I had a very good experience at this coffee shop. The coffee was good, the atmosphere pleasant, and it’s an ideal place to work or have a meeting. The space is quite large, which makes it comfortable, and the big windows bring in a lot of natural light — a big plus. It’s also very well located, and the staff was friendly and welcoming. Overall, a great spot for productivity or a relaxed coffee break.

I was in town for 5ish days and tried 8-10 different coffee shops, and this one by far had the most outstanding coffee. I ordered a hot almond milk latte with the earl grey caramel syrup and actually have not stopped thinking about it. I literally made earl grey caramel syrup today but it still doesn’t compare. The latte was the perfect temperature, the milk was perfectly steamed and creamy (which not everyone can do with almond milk) and the flavor was immaculate. I’m a barista and drink at least 2-3 cups of coffee a day and their coffee was absolutely outstanding! The service was awesome and the shop was cute as well! My husband loved the pastries! Next time I’m back in NY I will absolutely be coming back!

I have lived in NY for a decade and this is the worst staff and the worst service I have had. I had a stroller, my baby was sleeping, there were a lady and a guy that they both saw me but didn’t offered any help, which happens and it’s my choice to have a baby, sure ??‍♀️ Was standing for 2 mins because they were chatting about that lady’s sandwich while I am literally in front of them at the counter, not doing any actual work or greeting. But also, okay. It’s NY ??‍♀️? And I decided to order a pastry after about 10 mins and was in a queue. It was my turn and literally the guy asked the other customer who was next in line wants, skipped me. Their coffee and pasties are good. I also go to the one in Dumbo a lot but I am never coming back here ?

Best coffee in NYC (after searching for 2 weeks and trying all other popular places) and surprisingly the only coffee which was served in perfect temperature (hot) with great depth without me asking. Just regular orders came out perfect. ? Compliments to the young blonde gentleman barista for his perfect cortado! I got the last chocolate croissant (lucky) which was good and crispy. Already told my European friends who moved to NY and will def visit again on my next trip. (NY baristas some how usually serve lukewarm lattes donno if what’s preferred here and sadly if I order extra hot they burn the milk and it gets sour/bitter ? so this place was a big hit for me, couldn’t be happier )

Butler Bakeshop & Espresso Bar is one of the most charming cafés I’ve visited in New York. The aroma of freshly baked pastries fills the air the moment you walk in. Their croissants and breakfast sandwiches are absolutely delicious, especially when paired with their strong, smooth espresso. The interior is modern yet cozy — perfect for relaxing or catching up on work. The staff is friendly and quick, and everything feels well-prepared and fresh. However, since it’s quite popular, finding a seat during peak hours can be a challenge. Prices are a bit on the higher side for daily visits, and the place can get noisy when crowded. Still, the quality of food and coffee easily makes up for it. Overall, Butler Bakeshop is ideal for anyone who appreciates good coffee, artisan pastries, and a calm Brooklyn vibe. It’s the kind of café you’d want to return to for both comfort and consistency.

Nice place to have a coffee. The pastries look good too, but we didn’t try any. And the water is worth ordering too, the bottles are beautiful.

By far the best yogurt bowl I’ve had this year! So creamy, fresh and savory. The breakfast sandwich was also a 10/10 and the ice coffee was just what I needed. Definitely adding this location as a must visit next time I’m in town. Highly recommended!

Quiet place where you can have a breakfast with tasty coffee the service is fast. The food is good. I liked the design

✅ Avocado Toast - amazing and unique spin, with cured peppers and feta, my taste buds were very happy ✅ Overnight Oats - also amazing and unique spin with turmeric, berries, pecans and maple for a lightly sweet taste. Great cozy & inspiring ambience, music is not too loud which allows for conversation or focused work. Staff is very pleasant!

Had the chicken and egg wrap and the pulled pork sandwich. Bread was a bit too soft and gummy (fell apart with just a bit of sauce on it), and while there were larger chunks of pork, most of it was mush. Wrap was okay but nothing to rave about. Matcha latte tasted like someone whispered “matcha” next door — mostly milk. Decent vibe inside with a fair amount of seating but would skip if you’re looking for something that scratches that brunch/breakfast itch. Not sure if today was an off day or if the high ratings are driven by tourists.

Amazing avocado toast and yogurt bowl. Coffee is fine and the sausage roll was not the best but they have the option of pistachio milk which is really good. Ambience is nice and service was super friendly. They also have a really cute mug. We had a really good time, thank you for everything!

Went in to get a hot chocolate and was greeted by the great customer service provided by the cashier that was on that day, Chelsea she recommended I get the Granola Parfait. The barista Viviana was really sweet as well. She took the time to ask if I wanted the chocolate really hot or warm which I really appreciate. I can say the hot chocolate was definitely really good. Will definitely be returning.

Wonderful experience here. Very cozy yet alive spot! Avocado toast was amazing, it has a kind of sweet touch of fruit on top of the avocado spread, which made the taste different from all other avocado toasts I’ve had. The coffee was standard temperature and size. The view of brooklyn bridge made the experience spectacular. The only downside is very small tables and chairs. You would hit other chairs even if you’re tiny when you sit on corner tables.

one of my go to coffee shops in the area. the vibe here is so good, they have wifi & a bathroom too so i love working here. plenty of seating (although it still does get a bit crowded), an extensive food / drink menu, friendly staff, and a water dispenser :)

A pretty good study spot by my standards— especially if you have some noise-cancelling earphones since the speakers are a lil loud. A+ for the americano! I usually prefer my coffee less acidic/ sour and more nutty BUT there’s also this narrow spot of perfect balance between both that I enjoy and this was exactly that balance ✨. Also loved the muted but colorful theme/aesthetic of this place. It’s not monotone neutral but easy on the eyes as well :) definitely feels like Pinterest moodboard material. There’s also free wifi and a bathroom which are essentials for folks like me who cafe-studiers. And the cashier with the black cap who calls customers “lovelies” was so welcoming and awesome so shoutout to her as well. Haven’t tried the pastries so can’t vouch for those tho. Maybe next time bc I would definitely visit again ?

Love the wide window they have despite the narrow seating area. The seating area Gaston get busy and get empty. Here is a tip. Wait few minutes and you ll find a seat and make sure to do the same for the new guest ♥️ It’s NYC and in hot days, it is nice to stop my your favorite place like butter and enjoy a cold beverage or hot depends on your mood and cools down then make space for others ♥️♥️ I have been here many time and can’t emphasize how friendly and fast the staff are ♥️♥️ The bakery selection is more into sweet than savory side yet very delicious ♥️♥️?? You can’t go wrong with this coffee selection nor the seasonal once so enjoy and try different stuff each now and then ♥️

Took a walk across Brooklyn Bridge and needed a quick drink and breakfast sandwhich. The fresh food selection in the bakery was great as was the ham and cheese sandwhich. Had a hot chocalate that was also fantastic. Staff was friendly and location very clean.

Chef Alex makes wonderful food. Avocado Toast was the best I ever had & Im a Californian!. Everything is perfect ?? My first time. I’ll be back!

My friend and I had the opportunity to visit Butler on a weekend morning for coffee and a pastry. I have not been to this location before and I was surprised how busy it was given that we arrived fairly early in the morning. Regardless, we were able to find seats at one of the high countertops and place our order through the QR code. We both ended up just getting iced coffee and I got a croissant as well. Overall good service, they brought the items out to your table when they were ready. I recommend again given its proximity to the Subway, as well as it being downtown. A good option to go to with a friend in order to catch up over coffee!

Am I the only one who feels that this Bakeshop gives me that “movie cozy bakeshop” kinda vibe! Staff are friendly and helpful, everything I tried from their menu was tasteful and fresh. I had a cappuccino for my coffee which was great. Please enjoy the photos I took below!

Butler is my neighborhood haunt, and I’m there almost every day that I am home. The baristas are all very personable, beautiful people (inside and out). The cold brew is my go-to (always smooth), but every espresso drink and tea I’ve had has also been delicious. The pastries are also top notch. The mini sausage rolls are caky with a slight sweetness (pairs well with the tangy green sauce they provide). The ham and cheese croissants are well balanced. The croissants in general are pleasantly flakey while also being toothsome enough to be satiating. Overall atmosphere is very nice. The restroom for customers is so clean and well-stocked. The space is very bright. It could, admittedly, benefit from having more outlets available for customers to use, but customers shouldn’t be lingering all day without buying additional drinks and/or food items. Excellent spot. Will continue patronage, and will continue to excitedly bring visitors.

Pastries were hot and flakey, and the fillings were delicious and flavorful. I appreciated that they weren't very oily. I really liked the green dipping sauce on the breakfast empanada and also on the sausage roll. I had a turmeric latte that I enjoyed, but my partner didn't care for. Their coffee was delicious! They were super close to the hotel we stayed in and also the laundromat we used, which was super convenient because we just hung out for a bit until our stuff was done. They have a decent selection of seating indoors with clean tables, and a person came around frequently to pick up empty cups and plates. I will definitely come back!

My favorite avo toast and chai latte in my 14-day trip in New York! The atmosphere in the shop is so nice, and the plants are cute. Love this place and would like to come back in the future!

Another gem cafe! My friend said it was one of the best butter croissants she had. The olive cake was decadent and a treat to my taste buds. First time trying to pistachio milk… oh my goodness.. such a green match ;) Prices are average. Both outdoor and indoor seating.
