What clients say about Saga in New York (NY)

Come here for a special occasion. The service is exceptional—from the booking process through arrival. I fell in love with the entire dining experience: perfectly paced courses and perfectly sized portions. The views were spectacular as well. Thank you Saga for a memorable and truly special night.
Feb 26, 2026 -
Extremely disappointed with the portion sizes. While the flavors were decent, the 6-course tasting menu was shockingly small—even for someone with a very light appetite. To make matters worse, there was no bread service to complement the meal. I left the restaurant feeling completely hungry, which is unacceptable for a 2-starred establishment. A fine dining experience should be about balance, not leaving the guest looking for a second dinner immediately after
Feb 19, 2026 -
The terraces and views are amazing. The food was good but was not as good as expected for a 2 stars Michelin. Staff was nice. The quality / price is not reached. A little bit disappointed for this price. Coran shy on the floor level is a way better quality / price.

Good service and nice locatin with view. Place was dark so can't quite see my food. Portions were small and taste was ok, pretty normal with a tad of decor. Wasn't impressive given the price.

A hidden gem!! Beautiful location, amazing hospitality. As soon as we got there we were greeted with a drink from the bar. The experience wasn’t rushed at all and the view is breathtaking. Everything we tasted was delicious but the deserts were another level of perfection! All the cocktails 100/10, shout out to Tony ! He’s such a gem !! We asked for a list of places to visit after saga since we wanted to experience night life in NYC and the server came through with a list of recommendations. Overall we had the best experience at Saga and will be back next time we are in NYC

Saga is a remarkable top tier 2 star Michelin rated restaurant that is big on flavor & views. Perched high on the 63rd floor, this incredible restaurant wows with its tasters menu & spectacular 360 degree views of NYC! We had the honor of meeting the man behind the creations, Chef Charlie Mitchell. What a class act! Our dishes were awesome, our server was great, the views were spectacular and our evening was a memory we will not forget. We highly recommend Saga NYC!

10/10 experience! The food, atmosphere, and service were exceptional. Not to mention the amazing views! Perfect date spot.
Jan 17, 2026 -
Everything was exceptional—the food, service, and ambience. This is one of the few restaurants I’ve visited where I couldn’t find a single thing to criticize. The only minor thing to note was the madai tempura course, which was a bit too hot. I had to take it out after trying to eat just one bite. Shoutout to every server that day; they truly went out of their way to make my birthday special. Every course was carefully described, beautifully presented, and creative. I was especially impressed by the fluke and sawara courses—both were exceptionally well executed. Other favorites included the venison, the tea course, and the dessert course.
Jan 16, 2026 -
Amazing pre-Christmas dinner. Food was outstanding so effortlessly executed and every bite was amazing. Couldn't help but want more but also got our fill by the end. Service was exceptional with a welcome cocktail and great attentiveness but not overburdened. Highly recommend for a special occasion.

Saga offers an unforgettable dining experience. The seasonal tasting menu was beautifully curated, with each course thoughtfully presented and full of bold yet refined flavors. The service was exceptional — attentive, knowledgeable, and perfectly paced throughout the evening. The atmosphere feels elegant and intimate, with stunning panoramic views that truly elevate the entire experience high above the Financial District and New York City skyline. 🍽️ Seasonal, multi-course tasting menu with ingredient-driven dishes 🌆 Spectacular city views ✨ Top-notch service and polished ambiance — ideal for celebrations An excellent spot for birthdays and special occasions. Everything was perfectly executed, making it a truly memorable fine-dining experience. Highly recommended for an unforgettable evening.

I used to absolutely love Saga. Years ago, it was not only my favorite restaurant in NYC, but one of my favorite dining experiences anywhere. I recommended it to everyone. Chef Kent’s vision and execution made it truly special. Unfortunately, our visit this past Friday night for my birthday was extremely underwhelming. “They were trying new dishes” While the service was excellent, the food just didn’t deliver. The menu and portions have clearly changed — both in size and in how dishes are presented — and not for the better. Several courses felt more like an upcharge than a thoughtful evolution, and while nothing was bad, very little was wow. Overall, the food was good, but nowhere near memorable. As someone who doesn’t eat seafood (which the restaurant knew well in advance), the alternatives felt limited — mostly vegetables and venison as the main option. It was sad, given how highly I once held this place. Saga used to feel magical; this experience felt flat. I understand restaurants evolve, and I deeply respect Chef Kent’s legacy, but what made Saga exceptional seems to be missing now. The service and our captain Sebastian were great. I truly hope Saga finds its way back to what it once was — because it used to be something really special.

I was lucky enough to able to dine at SAGA and loved it. The ambiance, the views, the dishes were all amazing. I’m not any kind of food critic but am enjoying my journey trying amazing dishes backed by innovative culinary skill and talent being able to express their voice. I suck and forgot to charge my phone so I missed a good chunk of photos of amazing dishes. Will be back with friends again, what a view from the balcony. The welcome cocktail with Jasmine was wonderful and refreshing. The Barolo I had was amazing.
Dec 11, 2025 -
Saga is a gorgeous restaurant with truly exceptional service. The space is stunning, and the staff delivers the kind of warm, confident hospitality you expect at this level. The explanations of each dish were clear and thoughtful, which isn’t always the case at fine-dining spots. The food, though, didn’t quite match the rest of the experience. We had the tasting menu, and course after course leaned heavily on fish. After a while it all blended together and felt repetitive. The venison was the one break from that, but it was far too chewy to enjoy. Dessert ended up being the standout dish of the entire night, which says something. Everything around the food was excellent, but the food itself wasn’t at the caliber you expect from a Michelin-starred restaurant. Still, the service and atmosphere make it worth a visit.
Dec 02, 2025 -
I’ve been here three times now, and the atmosphere and service are truly unmatched. The food has kept some of the original favorites while introducing new dishes, which made this visit feel fresh and different from before. Everything was delicious, and the overall experience just keeps getting better. Highly recommend!

I visited Saga to celebrate my birthday, and the evening was absolutely unforgettable. I selected the Seasonal Tasting Menu and chose the zero-proof beverage pairing, which was a great choice. Each drink complemented the dishes beautifully, enhancing the flavors without the heaviness or headache I typically experience with alcoholic pairings. The sommelier was gracious and knowledgeable, and allowed me to photograph the zero-proof bottles I enjoyed most. One of which I’ll be purchasing to celebrate New Year’s. The entire experience lasts approximately 2–2.5 hours, and I never felt rushed. The pacing was thoughtful and fluid, and the skyline views were spectacular to take in while stepping outside between dishes. Every course was artfully presented and executed with care. The Potato Salad with Kristal Caviar was a favorite. I also opted for the A5 Miyazaki Wagyu supplement. The marbling and preparation were exceptional, a melt-in-the-mouth moment. And then ....the moment that absolutely stole the show, dessert! I was surprised with a carrot cake for my birthday. I usually do not like carrot cake, yet this was the BEST I have ever tasted. Compliments to the pastry chef, it was perfection. Every detail of the evening was thoughtful, refined, and deeply enjoyable. Thank you to the entire Saga team for creating such a meaningful and memorable birthday experience. I look forward to returning again soon.

Calling Saga a hidden treasure in the sky is truly an understatement. This 2-Michelin-star gem in the Financial District delivers an experience so exceptional, I’m convinced it’s ready for its third. From start to finish, the evening was a masterclass in culinary excellence and impeccable hospitality. The food was nothing short of extraordinary. Each of the ten courses showcased remarkable technique, thoughtful composition, and flavors that linger long after the plates were cleared. The venison with truffle, prepared with meticulous care and layered with rich flavors, easily secured its place as one of the most memorable dishes I’ve ever had, definitely a top-five “I’d come back just for this” moment. Service at Saga is prestige in its purest form. Sebastian, our main guide through the evening, elevated the entire experience. His passion, enthusiasm, and deep knowledge brought each dish to life, making every bite feel even more meaningful. To close the night, their Moroccan tea blend was absolutely perfect, the fragrant, soothing, and beautifully balanced tea, that I genuinely wished they sold it so I could enjoy it at home. It was the ideal finale to a flawless tasting menu. Saga is more than a restaurant; it’s an experience on the 63rd floor overlooking the Big Apple. I strongly recommend this place.

This is an amazing experience The view is crazy. Must come for sunset. See pics. The service is great They make you feel special. It’s a tasting menu. Price fixed just go with it. We did not add the wine pairing as I thought that would be too much wine for me. The dessert was the only thing that I thought was not perfect. But I was plenty full at that point. A good chocolate dessert would have been just perfect. Plan on 1000 or so per couple. There is no category for that just 100plus lol.
Nov 01, 2025 -
Night view was good but sunset might have been better. The tasting menu was around 12 courses for a little under $300. Food on average was good but some dishes ended up being a bit too salty for my taste. Ask for the bill breakdown since they did my bill wrong and if I didn’t check I would’ve overpaid by a lot. The wagyu add on for $85 was worth it! The beef was very tender and flavorful.

I recently dined at Saga and had a mixed experience. There’s no denying that the restaurant has incredible views, a stunning space, and a very polished service team. The setting itself is truly beautiful and theatrical. That said, the food didn’t live up to the hype or the price point for me personally. Several dishes felt more focused on presentation than actual flavor, and overall the menu lacked the depth and balance I’d expect at nearly $300 per person (before wine, tax, and gratuity). It was also disappointing to be served a “Late Summer” pre-fixe menu in the middle of October. For a restaurant of this level, I expected the menu to reflect the season more thoughtfully — especially when the price and reputation set such high expectations. I can appreciate the ambition behind the concept, but it simply wasn’t the right fit for my palate or sense of value. A nice experience overall, but not one I’d rush to repeat at this price.

I've been to probably 40+ Michelin starred restaurants around the world, and I can confidently say Saga was one of the best experiences I have ever had. Just classic continental tasting menu vibes - no bullshit. Not too experimental, I feel like the focus was on serving insanely tasty food with the highest quality, fresh ingredients and eye catching presentations. They really perfected that whole experience at Saga. I feel like they could have 3 stars even... I'm convinced that anyone who leaves a negative review for Saga is just too picky, insufferable and perhaps miserable... I came with my immediate family for my Mother's 60th Birthday, and the staff made it an unforgettable experience, so so special. The food spoke for itself. Everything was a flavor bomb. Each plate was a work of art. Attentive staff, amazing views from the roof, cool music and sleek decor. I do not drink alcohol, and even their mocktails tasted unique and were fun to try. If you ever want to have a special night go to Saga... they will take you away to a magical, cosmopolitan place for a couple of hours, away from the hardships of life. My favorite dishes were the "potato salad" with caviar, as well as the Hokkaido scallop in a spiced broth. They also served a crazy good sea bream. Cornbread with caviar on top too... sheesh. The Moroccan tea service was fun as well. Everything. Amazing. Thanks Saga!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was able to make a last minute reservation a couple days out for a Friday evening. The restaurant was on the 63rd floor and in the lobby, once we checked in, we took a seat. Someone came to get us when the table was ready and we took an elevator up. We were sat outside with an absolutely gorgeous view. Liam provided top notch service and when it got chilly, we asked for blankets which they provided. The view here is absolutely unparallel. It was quiet and you could enjoy the conversation. The food were all amazing and we enjoyed everything. There was one dish that was overly savory but everything was still very good and cooked to perfection. After, we had asked if we could check out upstairs (Over Story) for a drink and they helped escort us upstairs. It was incredibly busy and the music was very loud but once we were able to get our drinks, we did make our way outside for the night view. Overall, what a beautiful view at a lovely restaurant and we would absolutely come back.

The experience was cool as they first take you for a welcome tea, and out on the rooftop bar with fancy heated chairs. The dining experience was good but I thought the food wasnt so spectacularly tasty to be worth the price.

We had a great experience. From start to finish service was friendly and personal. Alisa was amazing. Delicious Drinks from the Overstory. Weather was perfect for the Terrace. Stunning views and great food. We woke up next morning with the smile.

What an experience!!! Everything from the greetings, care, service, plating, taste, views and experience is pure perfection and out of this world. The taste menu was spot on. Every bite was like an explosion. The Moroccan tea they served was exceptional and had the perfect ratio. The menu really allows you enough time to truly relax and have a good time with your partner and they truly treat you like royalty. They present and explain every dish to you and there are so many. The views from the floor are also out of this world. I would love to go back!

SAGA is truly one of my favorite restaurants in New York City. Unlike most Michelin-starred spots, SAGA puts on a show—and does it the NYC way. From the moment you arrive on the 63rd floor, you’re welcomed with a custom cocktail and then guided out to the terrace to soak in the breathtaking city views. The experience is unforgettable! The design perfectly blends modern aesthetics with the character of a 1920s high-rise, giving off a cool, almost John Wick vibe as soon as you walk in. As for the food, it’s just as impressive. The chef draws inspiration from cuisines all over the world, seamlessly fusing them into a harmonious and creative tasting menu. SAGA is an amazing restaurant on every level—highly recommended!

It pains me to give this review because we are big fans of Crown Shy and Chef Kent but I feel it’s necessary if they want to preserve their 2 Michelin star standing which I didn’t feel at all last week. The staff were less than enthusiastic it seemed and I have never seen a wait staff so untidy, like clothes were messy and not tucked in on a few of them. I don’t want to give descriptions or names but handing out a towel to us, he seemed unhappy and didn’t look like he wanted to be there. The food was very basic and if I compare to other two Michelin star restaurants they blow them away with creativity! I hope they will take this as a customer who truly wants them to succeed and not just another unhappy diner.

If you’re ever looking for a dining experience that feels straight out of a dream, Saga is it. Located way up on the 63rd floor of 70 Pine Street, the views are insane—like, full skyline, East River, sunset kind of magical. Definitely one of those places where you keep glancing out the window because it doesn’t even feel real. The decor is stunning—modern, luxurious, and elegant without trying too hard. Everything from the lighting to the table settings makes the night feel special before the food even hits the table. We were welcomed with a signature house cocktail, which set the tone perfectly. From there, it was just course after course of creativity and flavor. I did the tasting menu and every single dish was a surprise in the best way—art on a plate but also genuinely delicious. The ingredients were super fresh and the combinations were next-level. Also, the service was outstanding. Attentive but never overbearing—just the right amount of care to make you feel completely taken care of. This isn’t just a dinner, it’s an experience. If you’re celebrating something special or just want to treat yourself in NYC, Saga is 100% worth it. @raquelgerlani

I feel like this kind of restaurant is more about the experience and the environment. I’m not saying the food isn’t good. It’s just that, overall, the dishes aren’t as memorable compared to the atmosphere. That being said, the flavors are decent. I enjoyed my lamb chops; the only downside is that the outdoor seating can get a bit windy, so the food cools down quickly. You probably need to eat fast. The appetizers were quite varied and appetizing, and if you ask the staff, they’re happy to offer extra portions of the dishes you like. The desserts, however, weren’t great, neither the taste nor the presentation stood out. As for the service, it was decent and matched the price point. I think it’s the kind of place that’s nice to visit once in a while, more for the overall experience.

This was our first time here for fine dining. It was my wife’s birthday weekend. They made sure to acknowledge the occasion and made her feel special throughout the 8 course dinner. The ingredients used for the first 4 dishes were very fresh and the explosion of flavors was incredible. I would say we were a little less impressed with the main courses (meats). The Wagyu steak and the duck breast pieces were fine, but the sauces and the sides were just okay. We were hoping to have more of that explosion of flavors with main courses. The Moroccan tea that came right after was refreshing, tasty and settled our stomachs nicely. The desserts were superb, left us wanting more of it but we were just too full. My wife’s mini birthday chocolate cake with gold glitter was delicious. The wine selection was one of best we’ve seen on a menu. They also offer wine pairing with the 8 course meal. This was the Winter 2025 Menu. The staff and environment were amazing. They highlighted r&b and some hip-hop for music and created a great vibe. Overall, we were very happy with the experience and will go again for a different seasonal menu.

Went here for my birthday and the service was absolutely lovely. I felt well taken care of the second I walked through the door. However, almost every course was too salty or oily for my palate, especially the dry aged duck. I normally don’t have issues with tasting menus, but this one was particularly large in portions. Due to the portions and overly salty/oily food, I could not enjoy the dessert course and had abnormal, severe stomach pain when I got home. On the bright side, the service and wine pairings were wonderful. The fish course was my favorite. I wish I had a more enjoyable experience, but menu may just not be designed for Asian palates like mine.
