I wanted to post a review because some of the recent one stars almost scared me off but my experience was so fantastic. Bernie was our tech and took her time explaining everything while being so kind. Dr Inglis was honest and to the point while being kind about our results. It overall was a really great experience! From front desk to everyone involved! I’m very grateful.
I had a very negative experience here which I flagged for my OB as there were some very serious red flags in my opinion.
I was sent here for my anatomy scan. I arrived early and still had to wait nearly an hour past my appointment time to be called in. Once I was called in the tech asked if this random woman could sit in- she did not clarify if she was a student, intern, another doctor etc. so I gave her a puzzled confused look and she then explained that the woman worked for one of the technology companies they were using. I said fine, but could have been handled better.
The actual scan was fine enough, she was a bit rough at times and I ended up with some bruising and pain that lasted a few days after the scan- I have heard this can be normal so I won't hold it against them.
After the scan was complete the tech went to get the doctor to go through the results. This is where a huge issue occurred in my opinion.
The Doctor came in- did not introduce himself, nor confirm who I was by my name and birth date. He started sharing medical updates and information that was clearly not for me (wrong due date, wrong birth plan etc). I cut him off and said "I'm sorry I don't have an induction scheduled, I am a bit confused?" he then goes
"oh you aren't _(wrong name)___" and I was like no... he then walked out for ten minutes, came back and said my scan was fine (again without confirming my name or birth date or anything) and gave nearly no specific information (no percentile, no positioning nothing). Thankfully I had a follow up with my OB to go through the scan results in more detail- but the lack of professionalism at the actual imaging center was jarring to say the least- what if he had accidentally given me the wrong BAD information and sent me into a panic? Doctors should always introduce themselves and confirm you are the correct patient.
I also had issues with their billing department. It is recommended for IVF pregnancies to follow up with a fetal echo as an added precaution. I called the billing department to confirm the cost of the additional appointment with my insurance coverage and was told the out of pocket copay would be $1300+ even with my insurance. Because of this we decided to opt out of the additional scan. Later on when I contacted my insurance they told me the copay should have only been $45. This is incredibly suspicious to me- were they just trying to squeeze additional copay out of me for such an exorbitant amount of money? I was already not keen to return after my anatomy scan experience and my OB said that the risk was low anyway to skip the additional scan but the whole thing felt predatory to me.
I would highly recommend going elsewhere if possible!
Do yourself a favor and find a different healthcare system during your pregnancy. You really deserve better. I’ve seen one friendly tech here. Everyone else is silent during exams. One was so bad and rude I called to make a formal complaint and ensure I’d never have to see her again. Both doctors I’ve seen here come into the room for ten seconds and if you try to ask questions it’s like fighting to get them to stay and answer them. If Carnegie MFM is coordinating with another practice during your pregnancy (Oula for example), good luck. Be prepared to be extremely proactive in your own care and advocate relentlessly for the most basic information and coordination between teams. I would highly recommend seeking care elsewhere.
I rarely if ever leave reviews for health care providers as I am one and understand the nuances in the system, however my experience was so terrible I had to leave a review. The ultrasound tech I had was so rough, put the wand in and pulled it out so fast and forcefully I started to cry, (I get ultrasounds biweekly because I’m high risk) and have never experienced this. As my husband and I were waiting to speak with the doctor we both were standing in the hall because the thermostat read 76 degrees and we were both dying in the room. A gentleman approached us in a white coat without introduction, he could have been anyone, and I said hello are you with us? No acknowledgement, but said “your baby is fine.” I asked about percentiles and my husband asked why we needed to come to Manhattan for this specialized ultrasound to which was clear he didn’t read my chart. The whole conversation was under 1 minute with the doctor in the hallway. Aside from feeling like a piece of scorned cattle after this appointment, I am disappointed such a reputable clinic could warrant such terrible medical care.
Everyone I encountered here was lovely, but they do not offer any sort of pain relief, not even lidocaine, for a procedure that some people describe as worse than childbirth. When I asked them about it, they suggested Tylenol and were unapologetic. I can't return to a clinic that did not seem to care about preventing women's pain.
The only pleasant person that we saw in this practice was the doctor. The ultrasound technician was very grumpy and literally worked like a robot in front of us. She didn't want to engage. For the whole ultrasound process, me and my husband were just sitting in the dark and wondering what's going on? Is the baby okay? We even felt nervous to ask because when we do, she just gave us a very cold answer of 'yes and no'. We asked what the colors are for and the only answer we've got was "blood flow." If we don't ask, she wouldn't explain anything. Also, I just found out that they also charge extra without explaining to us what it is for. I am very disappointed. Would not recommend and I still wonder why the reviews are 4.8stars.
I went there for a detailed scan for my pregnancy and the staff was super friendly, attentive and professional. The nice lady at the desk greeted us with enthusiasm even when it was early in the morning and the technician was experienced, she was answering all of our questions without any problems, and she was very thorough with the process. Excellent service!! :D
Horrible experience with the front desk and the billing department. They overcharged me, and I heard them doing the same thing to other women too. It took me several HOURS on the phone with my insurance company and Carnegie over a month to get my money back, money that they never should have taken from me in the first place. The only thing worse than taking candy from a baby is stealing money from a stressed pregnant lady and that's what they're doing!
I had an amazing experience at Carnegie South Imaging For Women. As a first-time mom, I was a little nervous, but my ultrasound technician Mary was absolutely phenomenal! She was incredibly knowledgeable, charismatic, and made me feel completely at ease throughout the entire process. Her warm personality and expertise truly made the experience special.
The doctors were also fantastic. Dr. Jessica Spiegelman, thorough, professional, and kind. I appreciated their attention to detail and the time they took to explain everything. The entire team made this a memorable and comforting experience.
Had such a lovely experience here from the moment I walked in to the moment I was seen. The front desk staff was super attentive and constantly provided me with updates, the tech was great and very thorough going through any questions I had!
One of the best appointments I've had at a doctor's office, they were quick and courteous and my tech was very friendly and professional. The doctor I spoke to afterwards explained everything in a way that I would understand and I felt very comfortable with my entire visit.
I have been going here for years - and have needed a range of tests. Beside being an immaculate, state-of-the-art facility, their staff is courteous, and moreover, extremely knowledgable. For some uncomfortable procedures, they have always made me feel comfortable.
I've been in Carnegie South in different locations and this location is the best. I had a good experience with the staffs, the ultrasound technician and the doctor here. They guided me go through the whole process in ease and comfort. Highly recommend for future-mamas
Carnegie South is clean, efficient, and very pleasant. Galena is an especially comforting and informed ultrasound technician who has made the whole process relaxing and really special (and taken great photos of our baby as a bonus!). They center is on time for appointments and the equipment seems especially new compared to other centers.
Great facility - warm and friendly staff. Front desk staff was very professional and greeted me with a smile. My sonographer was very professional and through and talked me through everything that she was doing. I was extremely pleased with my visit.
The technician who performed my ultrasound was professional, patient, and kind. She helped me manage my anxiety and deal with my concerns in a very gentle manner. I've been to other ultrasound facilities in the past, and I found Carnegie South to have been a superior experience.
I have had a great experience overall at Carnegie throughout my pregnancy. I had to go for weekly ultrasounds during my 2nd trimester to ensure baby's heart was ok. While that many visits could have been nerve wracking, it ended up becoming a special part of my experience. A lot of that is because of the front desk staff, and Marlene in particular (sorry if I spelled it wrong!) She remembered my name pretty quickly with that many visits, and her warm smile and greeting always helped me feel at ease before being called back to check on my baby. She's been awesome with scheduling and other requests I have made throughout my pregnancy, and she has always worked to get appointment times that worked best for me. She's been communicative about my insurance as well, as I had a potential issue arise with the weekly appointments early on. I've had Lindita as my tech most of my pregnancy and she is amazing. Incredibly efficient and thorough, and we've come to laugh together about how my baby never wants its photos taken, but she tries so hard every time! I've felt very reassured because of her skills. For what could have all been a very stressful journey, I've not been stressed because of the care I've received at Carnegie.
Front desk was very pleasant but I arrived 20-30 mins early to fill paperwork and then was not taken back until a bit over 30 mins AFTER my appt. They explained they book into rooms rather than taking ppl by time of appt but it seemed weird for them to take ppl back who arrived well after me. The tech also insisted I pull my very loose sweats down to my KNEES which has not been the case anywhere else, however she never scanned lower than my pubic bone and therefore it was unnecessary. I find that uncomfortable and I believe they would have refused to scan me if I had said no. Patients should be given the right to decline unnecessary aspects of a service. Scan itself was fine but all in all bizarre.
Over the past six months, I've been visiting the Carnegie location for various ultrasound appointments, and I can't praise their exceptional customer service and patient care enough. The wait times are consistently short, and they prioritize efficiency for patients. For instance, if the scan is complete and you're waiting to speak with the radiologist, they'll take care of any necessary blood work, allowing you to leave promptly after your doctor's consultation. Additionally, at each appointment, they send you texted images of the ultrasound.
What sets them apart is that you meet with the reviewing doctor immediately, eliminating any waiting time. I visited my OBGYN right after my Carnegie appointment, and she had the results within just half an hour. The facility is impeccably clean, and there's room for your family to join you during your appointment. They even provide beverages, which is especially helpful during the summertime for pregnant individuals.
Most importantly, the imaging technicians show genuine care for patients. They always explain their procedures, maintain a positive attitude, and never rush you. Once, when I wasn't feeling well, they paused, got me a drink, and ensured I was okay before continuing. I never felt like I was inconveniencing them. This place is truly exceptional!
I attended the Carnegie South office, and I must say it’s conveniently accessible by train. The staff were kind and efficient, I arrived about a 20 mins before my appointment time and had a full bladder already. The front desk let me know upon arrival that there was a slight delay. I liked the fact that I was given a choice whether I could hold a full bladder or empty it and just grab some refreshments offered to drink. Luckily another patient was delayed and they were able to take me in. Very Kind Sonographer and physician who answered all of my questions. I would definitely recommend the practice to others.
Dr. Samantha Do is absolutely amazing and very knowledgeable, she also has a lot of empathy. She explained everything thoroughly, clear and with no rush. She listened to my concerns and gave possible solutions.
I felt safe and in good hands.

I had a 1:30 appointment, however I arrived at 1. My technician was heading to lunch so another technician was willing to take me, and early at that. She had calming music playing and her room smelled amazing with her diffuser. She didn't talk much unless needed, which I really appreciated. She was very friendly and patient with my active baby. I wish I remembered her name because she was that good. She also threw in some 3D pictures are let me see my little one in 3D which I never experienced with my first two. From the front desk to the technician I enjoyed my visit.
My experience at the Carnegie South Imaging for Women was great! All the health professionals were friendly, courteous, and knowledgeable. They explained everything very well, provided tips or instructions for my next visit, and always asked us if we have any questions. They also have snacks, juice, and water available. The whole process, from arrival to the clinic until checking out was smooth and fast.
I was referred by my OBGYN to come here for my anatomy scan so don't think I had any other options. The first time I came, my experience was okay - the tech was not as friendly. I came again on Friday and the tech I had was super friendly and I enjoyed my ultrasound with her. Overall, experience has been good so far.
Carnegie South got me in for an urgent scan the next day when my main hospital system couldn't get me in for 1.5 weeks. The office was clean, welcoming, and the staff was so friendly. My overall experience was amazing and I will highly consider coming back here for future scans I will need to schedule.
Jessica (I'm sorry I didn't get her last name) and Dr. Lam were absolutely amazing. I was pretty nervous when I came in and Jessica made me feel very comfortable. She explained everything she was doing and was incredibly friendly. She shared some of her experiences with her kids and it put me at ease. Dr. Lam had a similar demeanor and process. She walked us through what she was going to do and made me feel comfortable throughout the process.
The reception, Doctor and woman who took my blood were all very pleasant. The process was very smooth and I was called into the room at the exact time of my appointment. The nurse who performed the sonogram was not so pleasant as she clearly just wanted to go home and did not want to converse. Having a sonogram is such an amazing experience, I just wish she was more thoughtful of that.
UPDATE: Every single time I have been back since my first time, about 5 times now, my experience with the other technicians and doctors have all been very amazing. They took their time to explain everything and made sure all my questions were answered.
This office is top notch. Super refreshing. Amazing KIND doctors that actually care, take the time to speak with you and make you feel like a person not just another appointment. Modern clean setting complete with juices/coffees and water in waiting area. I have been several times and never had to wait more then 5 minutes. Really great. Can't recommend enough.
