The experience wildly exceeded my expectations. I had two coats from a family estate that I was looking to get rid of… One older and somewhat damaged, And then one in very good shape. Nicholas made a few recommendations as to how I could repurpose both items. I was on the fence until he showed me a fur vest that I immediately fell in love with. He repurposed both coats. One became a stunning for vest, and the other was turned into a pillow currently on my living room couch. I think I cried when I saw the finished products. Both are gorgeous!

Nicholas and his wife made my experience so positive. It felt like I was dealing with family (but without the drama). I brought in a full length mink and a suede coat. At first I thought I would sell the mink. Instead Nicholas creatively suggested that I have my coat remade into a reversible jacket. I am so happy that I did! Amazing experience. I brought in a vintage mink cape which was sadly in tatters and walked out a few days later with what looked like a brand new gorgeous fur. Nicholas personally examined the piece, talked me through the necessary repairs, advised me on future care, and worked his magic to get it all done super quickly (during a holiday week, no less!) so I would have it for an important event. I recently took the opportunity to redesign fur coats that I have accumulated over the years and haven’t worn due to the fact that I had lived in a relatively warm climate for some time. As I have always stored them at Sekas, I decided to ask them to alter/update them so that I would “want” to wear them especially now that I am now living in a colder climate. Nick, the owner at Sekas, was the one who spent the time with me to reimagine my coats. I could tell that he was passionate about his trade and really wanted to fix my coats to a point where I could love them again! He took the time to explain what was possible as he examined the designs of my coats and he was full of ideas. He never once insisted on any particular design but worked to see what I was comfortable with. My session with him was a long one and he never made me feel rushed to any decision. In fact, I thoroughly enjoyed the process with him and can’t wait to see the results! I absolutely recommend him to anyone who wants to give their old coats a lift or are interested in buying a coat. In fact I did both!

I met Nicholas last year when I found him on the internet while looking for a reputable furrier to remodel a vintage and rare fur piece. He has a great disposition of friendliness and knowledge about all aspects of fur care, quality and maintenance. The beautiful coat he produced from my vintage fur is BREATHTAKING! He recommended that I add sable to the collar and the cuffs of my coat to modernize it. Now it truly is a one of a kind that’s a head turner. As this winter season has wound down, I contacted Sekas about storing several beautiful and expensive pieces and Nicholas arranged for a free and prompt pickup at my apartment. What a convenience. I love the old fashion service and attention he and his wife give every customer. They make you feel important and that’s a quality missing in retail today. I highly recommend this establishment

I reached out to Sekas to see if the full length Mink that my mother bought 30 years ago could be converted into a men’s jacket. My mom died in 1997. My dad gave the full length to my now X wife. When my X moved out, she left my mom’s coat hanging in the closet. She hadn’t worn it more than a few times in 25 years. I thought rather than donating it, maybe I can use it. I had my doubts. But Nick is a great salesman and talked me into it. I am not the type of person who would spend $2,700 on a coat, let alone having one repurposed. But after it was all done and I put it on, I instantly knew it was worth every penny! Nick even arranged to save my mom’s monogram that Sekas had sown into the lining 30 years ago.

My husband and I brought my beloved mother's fur, a very sentimental piece in very poor condition, to Sekas- to see if they could salvage any part of the fur and recreate a new piece. They were so friendly and knowledgeable we felt comfortable as soon as we walked in the door. They were able to create a stunning fur lined cape that exceeded our every expectation while working within our budget and respecting the sentimental value of the fur- if you have a fur that means a lot to you for whatever reason, you must go to Sekas- you can trust they will do the right thing for you - friends forever- Lori and Bill Smittle

Sekas is awesome. The work is top notch, the owner is knowledgeable, and the prices are fair. I brought in an old mink that was worth saving (to me, at least), but it needed a lot of work. In addition to some holes, the coat was separating at the collar, and another shop probably would have sewn it shut and moved on. Instead, Sekas noticed a flaw in the construction (the collar fur was cut from the wrong part of the animal), which would have caused the seam to re-open over and over again, no matter how many times it was closed. They replaced the entire panel, matched the color perfectly, and sealed it tight. I really appreciate that the work was done right. I love this old coat, but it won’t be around forever, and when it’s time to replace it, I’ll definitely come to Sekas for my next one.

I first came to Sekas for a fur repair and have since seen Nicholas for all of my fur needs. He’s very attentive and is great at what he does. Each time I bring a piece in I feel truly taken care of. I brought in a mink coat that I had been given many years ago (and pretty much never wore) to be made into a blanket. Nicholas Sekas, the owner, was wonderful... very friendly and super knowledgeable. I had no idea how much a project like this would cost, and indeed it was a lot more than I thought, but it's a ton of work to make the triangle shape of a coat into a rectangle shape! Nicholas was considerate of my budget and kept things reasonable even though some unexpected issues (with my fur) came up. To make a full size blanket you'd really need two coats, one coat makes what I call a "bed scarf" that lays nicely across the bottom of the bed. I like to pull it over myself for a nap and it is the perfect size for one person. Because of the chilly spring I've already gotten more use out of this blanket than I EVER got out of the coat in 20+ years... so I am super pleased that I did it! I totally recommend Sekas Int'l! If you’re like me and have fur coats that you haven’t worn in years, do not hesitate to contact Nick Sekas! I brought Nick my full length mink coat that I hadn’t worn in 20 years and a fur lined raincoat that was also outdated. We discussed options to remake both coats. Nick and his wife Athena are lovely people. They are knowledgeable, professional and so easy to work with. Nick helped me figure out how I wanted to redesign my mink into a shorter, shirred, fashionable coat and he suggested that I create a fabulous fur vest from the raincoat lining. The fur trim from the raincoat was used to make a beautiful wool wrap with fur trim. The entire process was seamless. I transformed two outdated coats that were just sitting in my closet into 3 gorgeous pieces that I will wear all the time!

Amazing experience all around! Nick was very patient and informative about my vintage mink. He really knows his stuff! We both decided it would be best to take the coat and convert it into a custom vest (Christmas present for my mom). I choose the fabric, the button style and length. It turned out perfect! Better than I imagined. Nick and his staff are very polite, honest and definitely make the best quality fur products. I’ll be back to get a coat for myself!

Nicholas at Sekas was a true gem to work with. He provided exceptional service. I had a very old stole that was my grandmother's that I wanted to wear for my wedding. It was in bad shape--it likely hadn't been cleaned or stored properly or cared for in years. Nicholas assessed it and recommended a new lining and full cleaning, as well as a service to help whiten the fur that had oxidized. He managed to do all of this in a week, despite the piece being in worse condition than we originally anticipated. It turned out beautifully, was done on time, and was the perfect complement to my wedding dress. I would absolutely recommend him to anyone. I never felt rushed or like he was offering services just for the sake of it--he was clearly knowledgeable and ended up reviving a special family piece. Nicholas is a very pleasant businessman. I meet him about 10 years ago for the first time and made me an ivory fur Stole for my wedding and his work was excellent. I went back 4 years ago to have a fur coat made and it came out beautiful. The Craftsmanship that he has for four coats is unbelievable.
