I had dinner here last night and it was absolutely amazing. The food is too good, drinks were great, and service was excellent. 10/10 recommend dining here!

Alice in the West Village is one of those places that feels designed for a date night. The space is intimate and dimly lit, tucked inside a charming townhouse that gives it a cozy but stylish vibe. The candlelight, flowers, and lively crowd make the atmosphere feel romantic and a little sexy without being over the top. The menu leans toward Italian seafood and handmade pasta. The pasta dishes are fresh and well executed, especially the cacio e pepe agnolotti and the seafood risotto, which both highlight simple ingredients done right. , Alice is a solid choice in the West Village if you’re looking for a romantic, slightly upscale Italian dinner with good drinks and a fun atmosphere. It’s less about a traditional hearty Italian meal and more about the ambiance and a stylish night out.

Great spot for seafood Italian!! The table side salt baked fish was delicious. Late night, the music changes and becomes more lively rather than a dinner spot. I recommend making a late reservation and staying for a drink at the bar after.

Valentines dinner had many hits! The oysters were amazing, had a nice salty buttery taste. The scallops were delicious with a tasty puree. Definitely the highlight of the courses. Tartare was a treat but the toasted bread was the star. Like was that brioche or what ?!! Last but not least the cake. Omg it was so rich, decedent and sweet. Best cake I’ve had a restaurant. My entree was the short beef rib. It was so tender. Omg ! The glazed carrots were perfect. This restaurant is a lovely vibe. The enclosed space is cool, although it’s basically outside. It was so warm and comforting, even with other guests coming and going. There was no wait for our reservation. Our appetizers came out within minutes of placing our orders. The entrees did take a while, seemed like some confusion coming from the kitchen. When the entrees came they were hot & tasty. Our server was full of personality, charming and friendly. Overall it was a lovely dinner.

In my 35+ years of living and dining in New York City, I have never had a dining experience as abysmal as mine and my husband's experience tonight at Alice. We were very excited to enjoy the delicious looking cuisine at the establishment, but within minutes of our dinner, we were completely disgusted by the experience. Inexplicably, there were three plastic pen caps inside of one of our water glasses. Immediately upon noticing the pen caps, we cancelled our dinner order and asked if we could pay for our cocktails and leave. While we were given an apology, we could not help but notice the accusatory tone taken by the restaurant staff, who implied that we planted the pen caps in the drinks. I am not sure how we would have benefited in any way from placing foreign objects into our water. I would expect a much higher level of cleanliness from an establishment of this calibre, and indeed, would have thought the staff would have handled this issue more diplomatically. I am sad to report that, while I have been looking forward to dining at Alice, I will never be visiting this establishment ever again.

Had the most delicious sowrdfish and yellowtail bolognese at Alice. Highly recommend coming here, especially for the fish dishes and pastas! This restaurant is tucked away on 13th street in the bottom floor of a townhouse in between 6th and 7th ave.

Atmosphere is good. The food is basic. The service is terrible. We sat at the bar. The bartender was so incredibly rude to the point we left. We mentioned something about how rude the bartender was, and the manager quickly jumped to their defense. David was his name. He had a very large head. So incredibly rude left there feeling offended. Won’t be back.

A hidden gem. Food was fantastic, all of the servers are attentive and kind. The atmosphere is romantic. Went in for dinner, then sat at the bar, spent over 4 hours at the restaurant.

This unexpecting restaurant was probably one of the best I’ve been to recently because of the server I had. It’s rare in New York you find a server that will fully care and take care of everything that you are looking for but here in Alice we had the most amazing server that almost read me to a T of what I could’ve even wanted from drinks to appetizers to dinner me and my Group had an amazing time. Carsen created such a warming calming environment for us. It had been a long travel day, and we were looking to Have a nice dinner in the area. Recommend the octopus and bourbon drink
Nov 06, 2025 -
The food is amazing! I got the Butternut squash gnocchi and our server Carson recommended the grilled octopus and it was delicious!! He was the best and gave us great recommendations and really made the experience. I would come back again and definitely request him as my server!

My favourite design from our trip. I love this style of restaurant … very talked about but kind of hidden. The owners were very accommodating of our reservation request when they found out we were also restaurateurs on an nyc trip even though it was short notice. Being Italian it’s always a more authentic experience to be speaking Italian with the very charming and gracious owners who came to our table and spent quite a bit of time conversing with us in Italian and explaining their journey in nyc and practically every ingredient of every dish. A very special experience. I would give this place 15 stars for atmosphere if the option was available. Loved everything but the atmosphere is just amazing. Auguri 🥂

Tucked beneath a historic brownstone, Alice feels like a hidden escape to coastal Italy — intimate, elegant, and full of charm. From the moment we arrived, the host welcomed us warmly and seated us right away, setting the tone for a wonderful night. The service was exceptional — Xaviera made the experience unforgettable, describing each dish with passion and care. The Bucatini al Limone was creamy, citrusy, and perfectly salted; the grilled octopus was tender and full of flavor; and the burrata with heirloom tomatoes was a refreshing start. It’s clear that Alice prides itself on excellent customer service — the laid-back, welcoming vibe and friendly staff truly make you feel like family. ✨ A cozy, flavorful, and heartfelt dining experience — a true hidden gem in NYC.

Dinner at alice restaurantnyc felt like a little escape — cozy, candlelit vibes with dishes that really showcase the power of simple, high-quality ingredients. 🌿✨ Their focus on hand-picked, organic produce comes through beautifully — the tomatoes were some of the best I’ve had all summer, and the burrata was impossibly creamy. The fresh herb-forward cocktails? Also a highlight. 🌸🍸 Standouts for me: ✔️ The zucchini carpaccio was light and fragrant, a perfect start. ✔️ The pasta — classic, well-executed, just the right amount of bite. ✔️ The grilled fish was super fresh and paired with a lovely, bright sauce. That said, a couple of the dishes leaned a bit too simple. While I love minimalism, I was hoping for a bit more complexity or seasoning in the peppers and salad — beautiful, but slightly underwhelming flavor-wise. Still, you can tell there’s a real respect for ingredients here, and that’s something I’ll always appreciate. Would definitely come back in peak season to see how the menu evolves — it feels like the kind of place that shines brightest when ingredients are at their best. 🌼🍽️

I came here with my homegirl to try the Restaurant Week menu and we had a fabulous time thanks to our amazing server, Carson. He was so warm and welcoming as soon as we came in. I don't know much about wines and Carson walked us through the wine menu in such an accessible way. He helped expand my wine knowledge and introduced me to my new favorite wine! The calamari was beautiful and fresh. The salmon was great and the tiramisu was so luscious. The real treat was the peach and melon sorbet, hand scooped by lovely Carson. I'll definitely be back at Alice to try their pastas and hopefully to be served by Carson again

We dined at Alice on a Tuesday evening for Restaurant Week. The service, food, and atmosphere were fantastic. Very cool vibe situated in a well designed interior. It’s located in a historic brownstone. Every dish we had was very good. The service was polite, friendly, and efficient. All in all a great and memorable experience.

Everything here was simply perfect. The food was incredibly delicious, the service was fast and everything was clean. The octopus and the cacio e pepe pasta are absolute must-tries. The attention and service from the whole team, especially Carson, were amazing. We truly felt special. Thank you so much! See you soon!!

Everything about this restaurant was fantastic. The staff, the food, the cocktails, the vibes, the decor. I would definitely come back here, whether just for a drink or for an entire meal. You will not be disappointed. The staff were so attentive and friendly, making fantastic suggestions and adding to the overall experience. You definitely don't want to miss this gem.

One of my absolute favorite spots in the city! The atmosphere is vibrant and welcoming, the food is consistently delicious, and the cocktails are top-notch. What truly sets this place apart is the exceptional service—attentive, friendly, and always on point. We recently celebrated a friend’s birthday here and had an unforgettable time. This place really has it all!

Friend recommended this place and it was amazing. Nice atmosphere, delicious Italian food and great service. Friday and Saturday Live DJ. Saturday and Sunday delicious brunch.

We stopped by this lovely spot for a "treat yoself" lunch after some recent professional successes. If you're familiar with Maison Premiere and other pretty restaurants filled with old-timey, antique-y knick knacks and lots of plants, then you'll know the vibe of Alice. It's like Sleep No More with a skylight and loooots of pothos. The menu is just as kitschy and fun, full of creative Italian dishes. Try the delicious Beef Tartare to start, full of hazelnut and sunchoke crunch. The Crab Pappardelle Special with bisque sauce was savory and perfectly al dente, but the real winner of our table was the Paccheri Swordfish Bolognese. If you're picturing hearty, meaty, saucy wondrousness.....you've pictured correctly. I kind of feel like all bolognese pastas need to be fish-based now (*cue beatdown from la polizia*). When I was first looking up Alice, their menu reminded me of the creative dishes at Alaluna--and wouldn't you know it, they're owned by the same people! Alice is better, though. Oh, bonus: When we mentioned our special occasion, we were treated to complimentary housemade dark chocolate and pistachio ice-cream. It was delish. Free always tastes so good.

This is one of my favorite spots in the city. Great for dates (and Valentine's Day, too, as I was there this year!) as well as just grabbing some drinks at the bar. I've had their oysters, crab pasta, lobster pasta, lobster bisque (they were doing some kind of pre fix lobster day one time that was fantastic), wagyu tartar, etc. The drinks pretty much all come beautifully decorated with flowers, which I adore as a special touch. Vibe is quiet and intimate. Service is always above and beyond.

This place is amazing! Such a cute date spot! And the food is absolutely amazing! The bar has such an eclectic selection of liquor, high-end, and rare bottles. The wine is divine and so cold! The fresh pasta and oysters are a must! The cocktail sauce is spicy with the right amount of horseradish!! Mya was such a delight! Even if the busiest time, she was attentive and kind! Marcus is a whole vibe with a personality to make anyone smile and feel welcomed! We went on a night where there was a prefix menu, and the selection was great! But I can not wait to go back and try the full menu, enjoy the great food and the atmosphere again!

I’ve been to Alice Restaurant in West Village a few times, and it never disappoints. It’s a cozy spot with a great vibe, perfect for any occasion. The Italian seafood and lobster dishes are always fresh and delicious. The staff is super friendly and attentive, making every visit a pleasure. Whether you’re planning a private event, a casual meal, or just a night out, Alice Restaurant is a fantastic choice. Highly recommend!

Want to impress that lady friend of yours? This is the place to do it! They have it all. The space is broken up into three with the main bar in the middle. The back room, hidden a way is absolutely stunning. The food is fresh, presented well, and of course the owner from Milano would never put out dishes that we're amazing.

Neighborhood eatery casual & good! Relaxed tentative service, charming decors. Excellent Italian dishes and good wine drinks selection! We were in season for white Italian truffles. Linguine white clam is prepared very well. A good time with family and friends!

The everything lobster we got was excellent! From beginning to end. Went here for a friends birthday and everyone was very happy with their meal. We talked about coming back because it was that good. The lobster roll was perfection with fries. The grilled lobster also excellent and not dry. Lobster with baratta was amazing 😍 The lobster bisque we all wished there was more 😆😋🤤 Definitely going to go back and maybe try other items or just the same thing again 😁

Tried Alice this past weekend and it was a decent experience. My friends and I tried the $100 Lobster menu. While the food was good nothing blew me away and admittedly thought the appetizer portions could have been more. The bisque was ok. The portions for the main course were great. The pasta on the main course was great. The lobster was good and fresh. I wish they had given us some melted butter or lemon with it but can’t complain. The staff was incredibly nice and the decor of the restaurant was great. I’d come to try other dishes but this first experience was solid. Table next to us ordered the Branzino…the presentation was spectacular!! Hope the taste matched the presentation.
Aug 01, 2023 -
We did the $100 lobster menu and it really wasn’t worth it. The first course is a lobster bisque with focaccia that was really just a broth with zero lobster meat. The second course we each had 1 of the 2 options so we could share, and the portions were so tiny with barely any lobster. So far, not a lot of lobster for the price. For dinner, the pastas were pretty good, and this is where I felt like there was actually enough lobster in the dishes. The staff was super friendly and the bar was really cool. I’d like to go back and try the regular dinner menu.

Came here for brunch on a Sunday. They have an awesome area in the back that’s nicely decorated and has a skylight. The place wasn’t busy, so you could have walked in without reservation. The vibe of the place is cool and I really liked the food too! This place also has a bar and a very cool vibe for dinner

Went to Alice for dinner for the first time. This place is really cozy and it has a nice ambiance. Food is amazing. Service is great and just the space is a little tight. FOOD: Oyster and calamari for appetizers. -Oysters is super tasty and fresh which I highly recommend getting and the calamari is really good with or without the sauce. Agnolotti cacio Pepe u -tasty and perfectly cooked however, the portions is really small for its price. Linguine dei campi -delicious and good portions. Taste really good and cooked perfectly. Al Pomodoro -good portion and taste fresh. Pasta cooked perfectly Dessert We had the Panna Cotta with raspberries. Tasty and great dessert.
