What clients say about Mason Jar NYC in New York (NY)

Fun place to grab a burger, and the Wednesday special of 2 for 1 burgers was great! The side salad had blue cheese but I liked the dressing. Good location and convenient and lots of space if you’re in the area.

Came in while traveling for work, and what a friendly staff and overall great experience. They have nice beer selection, but the obvious reason to go is the menu. I cannot stress how good the smoked wings are, and the bartender making a great beer pairing suggestion for them. I travel to the city for work on a regular basis, so I think i found my new favorite restaurant to go to.

I’m from out of state but everytime I make a trip to NYC I always come to the Mason Jar! We had a great time at the Mason Jar this weekend, drinks were great thanks to Jairo! Service was awesome as well thanks to Michael.

Tried the brisket burger lunch special, added fries for an extra charge, to go. Portions were large, though price is above average, about 28 total. Taste was ok, for both the brisket and the fries. Brisket texture was ok as well.

Love this place! It’s the perfect spot to catch your favorite sport's games while enjoying incredible Southern comfort food. The staff was super friendly, and very attentive! Tony and Ian crafted some killer drinks, and one of the partners, Brendan, hung out with us and made the experience even more memorable. His awesome playlist took the atmosphere to the next level. If you’re in NY, this place is a must!

Short Rib grilled cheese was delicious!! Mashed potatoes & gravy were tasty! Our server was super attentive. Will make a return visit soon

Ordered on Uber eats. Everything was much smaller than in the photos. Namely the sides. The brisket was some of the driest brisket I’ve ever had, it was basically “tender beef jerky”. Ribs were too tender where we couldn’t really separate them. Not the worst thing in the world but if you know ribs, you know they need to have a little bite. Pork was good. Sides were also good, just small. Brisket was offensive though.

Got Delivery. They forgot the main item (chicken) but left the sides in. ALSO when I asked for a removal (no mushrooms) in app, which the completely ignored. I've ordered from them before, and they were able to take the mushrooms out. This sucks because the first time I ordered, the food was good.

I got brisket, brussel sprouts and Mac and cheese to go. The brisket was great actually, but the brisket sprouts and Mac and cheese were not good at all. The person behind the bar was very friendly however, and the space itself seemed pleasant

Such good food, if your from Vermont it is definitely similar to BlueBird BBQ great soul food

We had a show to attend to and asked the server if it was possible we will be fed in time (mind you we were 2 hours ahead of scheduled showing) we ordered our drinks and food shortly after and waited about an hour and 45 mins to receive three meals and 2 pretzels. We almost missed our show and the food basically was bad. I wouldn’t try this place again the wings were not good either. Had the brisket sandwhich which was extremely tough and lots of fat still attached. So surprised Google keeps funneling the good reviews and sponsors into this place it is not good.

Best BBQ - delicious comfort food - sports bar - friends sharing a pretzel !! Great owners and staff ..

10/10. Loved the vibe of this place and it’s got a good amount of space in there. The food was fantastic! The brisket on the sandwich and on the burger was so tender and the burger was cooked perfectly. We loved the Mac and cheese - the flavors were great and it was perfectly cheesy. Definitely worth a stop if you’re in the city!

My friend and I came here after work for a bite to eat and it was OK, definitely not bad or amazing but OK! It looked crowded at first but the restaurant is very spacious and we were given a very nice table in the mid-section that was away from the crowd. We ordered the brisket platter with brussel sprouts and mashed potatoes to share, as well as the “hanging bacon” appetizer. For beverages we got a basil lemonade mocktail and a cosmopolitan. The drinks were fabulous. The brisket platter was meh, the brisket wasn’t very juicy or flavorful but the barbecue sauce cup helped it out a little. The brussel sprouts were indeed crispy how I love them but also not really flavorful. The mashed potatoes with the gravy sauce was good. The “hanging bacon” appetizer was the favorite part of our meal, the glaze wasn’t too salty or sweet and definitely thick-cut. Our waiter was very nice, I’m sorry I forgot his name but he was very attentive and very nice to us. Everyone in that establishment is very kind as well!

Mason Jar NYC is located in a safe area east of Manhattan. Expect a bar/restaurant that gets busy during major sporting events. The seating is very relaxing and not too crowded. The food 🍱 is decent in general. We tried a burger, short ribs, and chicken wings. Being a sports 🏀 bar, chicken wings should have been more succulent and bigger portions. The dips are tiny small. The place has a great potential with proper review to the food 🥘 menu. The desserts 🧁 are top notch 👍

The short rib was decent for $25. Their short rib is not of $42 quality, it is on the tougher side and fatty. Again for $25 I don’t mind but for $42 which is more than the steakhouses in the area it better be falling apart which it sadly does not. Do not order short rib from here until they lower the price back or until they learn how to cook a proper short rib

Amazing experience. There are two stacks of ribs and they were delicious! Managers visited our table and offered samples of different appetizers. Will definitely return if I am back in NYC!

I know this is a bbq joint but I was craving Mac n cheese and tater tots and this place delivered! The Mac n cheese was creamy and the tater tots were crispy and almost had a truffle flavor to it. I’d call them gourmet tater tots since they’re not your traditional looking tots. Very delicious. Will have to return for some bbq food next time!

I was in NYC for Thanksgiving weekend and ate lunch at the Mason Jar. It is Gamecocks bar, and we were there because the Gamecocks marching band was in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade. We had a reservation, and we were seated right away. Unfortunately, it took a full hour to even get a pitcher of water. The staff working were very friendly, but they did not have enough employees working the day we were there. I had a classic cheeseburger with homemade tater tots. The food was outstanding. We would have spent so much more money on drinks if we had service. While it was not a good first impression for me, if you are a Gamecocks fan in NYC, you need to check out the Mason Jar.

I recently dined at Mason Jar NYC and it was a fantastic experience, deserving of a full 5 stars. The ribs were incredibly tasty and the brisket, although needing a bit more seasoning on its own, paired perfectly with their flavorful BBQ sauce. The mac and cheese was wonderfully cheesy, though it could benefit from a bit more flavor. The lemonade cocktails were delightful, leading me to try the sweet tea vodka, which has now become my favorite alcohol. We opted for the lunch special, which was well worth it. Our waiter was very nice, providing great service throughout. Highly recommend!

Enjoyed dinner here a little late one night, and it was quiet as a result. good choice of food and drinks, and there were offers available. $5 margaritas, yes please! Would recommend the chicken wings and the BBQ platter, both were delicious, but be warned that the portions are large.

Fun lively spot with great service and delicious comfort food. The place was packed with a diverse crowd and extremely lively. It’s great for a solo or group visit. I came in to eat, have a drink and watch the game and had so much fun I can’t wait to go back. They have some great specials too. The tomato soup was my favorite, it was so creamy and delicious and I ordered the pretzel which was to die for with the mustard sauce. I like to dunk the pretzel in the soup. Also the chili and brisket platter is the best. It’s a very clean place with lots of bathrooms which I liked. I highly recommend this place.

Food is very bland and not tasty at all. Deviled eggs, Cornbread and Brisket were the only things that tasted good. Staff is very nice and attentive. Nice place to have a drink but not to eat.

I mean .... Is it like a super authentic BBQ place? Not really. But it is not bad at all. Will I recommend it as a must ? No. It's just like a sports bar with better food. Do think the food is missing that very unique BBQ taste, if you know what I mean. The service was great. Beer choices & drinks were good too. The ambiance is just typical of a sports bar. Is neither a hit nor a miss. Maybe a bit pricy given that the taste was not there. The macaroni and cheese with pull pork, tho....was a hit!

We have been on a BBQ tour of places up the East Coast from D.C to New York. Although the food was OK, it is extremely expensive and the portion sizes are crazy small. $15 for the Pulled Pork spring rolls, there were 4 small rolls and a dip. The Rib Sandwhich and fries was $24 I think, Chicken Burger was about the same. The sizes were very small, far removed from the other places we have been which have been well priced. Staff seem a little too relaxed, although it was quiet. Good atmosphere and the location it's self is good. Just a shame they miss the mark with portion sizes and quality could definitely be better.

Very good food and reasonable prices. I am from Texas and the brisket is top notch. They’ve a good smoker and the flat (less fatty part of the brisket) was tender and juicy. I was VERY impressed and that’s not easy. The beef barley soup is fantastic. I recommend Putting some brisket in it even though it has plenty beef. Trust me. I also noticed there’s a banquet space upstairs with about a 50 person capacity just FYI.

I went to Mason Jar on a Wednesday afterwork to meet up with my daughter for dinner at 6pm. I truly enjoyed my dining experience. The waitstaff here is very warm and friendly. John our server was amazing. He gave great recommendations that were on point. The drinks and food were both very good. I honestly have no complaints. I definitely recommend this restaurant as a great after work meet up spot and absolutely would go back.
Aug 17, 2021 -
The food is good and underrated. I would suggest that they change the name of the fried chicken, because we ordered the $20 entree and they gave us the $36 version. The waitress switched it on the bill after we said something but that wasn’t good. Also a server dropped one of our meals so we didn’t get to eat at the same time and they didn’t comp it or offer anything. Has potential but a few things need fixing.

Great place for good old American comfort food. Their food has a southern touch. Loved their Brisket and Tacos. The sides were equally tasty specially the Jalepeno Corn Bread. The Rose flavored Kettle One was refreshing and the best smelling drink I have ever tried. Service was on the slower side but not a problem. They did run out of coffee.
