What clients say about Lotte New York Palace in New York (NY)

Extremely disappointed with our stay and service. We were promised connecting rooms for the last two nights of our stay and did not receive. ANASS LRHMOU was absurdly unprofessional, aggressive and disrespectful. We were given his name and told he secured the connecting rooms yet he lied to our face and did not try to rectify the issue. Upon arrival, the hotel was severely understaffed. We waited 1 hour and 15 minutes just to speak with a front desk agent. We have stayed twice in the past but the service has gone downhill

My husband and I had an absolutely wonderful experience at The Lotte. Every single team member working there was extremely nice and willing to help in any way, possible. The rooms are nice and the views are amazing! We splurged and upgraded to the towers and the extra space was worth it. The drinks at the Gold Room were elegant and delicious as well. Walking distance to Rockefeller, Central Park, Time Square, and shopping. Highly recommend!

Stayed here A few years ago and was very surprised that you no longer have a coffee pot in your room —when I asked the person at front desk was very short and told me to order room service! Which was ironic because it was very difficult to get room service—took forever and items were not included. Our room was not cleaned our second day, mini bar was locked and I had to call twice to get it unlocked. It’s a great location and I was sad to see the differences from the last time I had been here.

We stayed at Lotte New York Palace for New Year’s during our holiday trip, and it was an amazing experience. The location is perfect — right in the heart of the city and close to everything. The rooms were clean, spacious, and very comfortable. The service was outstanding, and the staff made us feel welcome throughout our stay. Celebrating New Year’s in New York and staying here made the trip even more special. Highly recommend!

Stayed here during the Christmas break. The hotel is at best a 3.5 start hotel, definitely not a 5 star experience. I was in the towers, and the only thing memorable about my stay was the cathedral view. Apart from that: the room was average, the service was terrible, the value was neglegible. We were told that the towers have butler service, still we had to wait 2 hours (after multiple calls) for simple things like a dental kit. They say you have access to the maybach, but the 20 block terms and availability make it practically a gimmick. And the lifts... they are the worst I have ever seen. You can literally be waiting 10-15 minutes to get on the lift depending on your floor. Would not really recommend it anyone.

I had a great time during my visit. The hotel is gorgeous and the staff is amazing. Shoutout to the room attendants, MD & Ruben, and the elevator attendant, Phil for making sure I was well taken care of. I can’t wait to visit again ?

We stayed one night, and the photos should prove how a room that cost $600 plus was not worth the price. The picture in the picture frame was falling down, exposing the tape. There was tape on the wall to cover up something. There were scuff marks on the cabinets that made the room not feel cleaned. There were construction items that were not covered up, like holes in the tile. They put tape over the door to conceal the damage that was done before we arrived. There were pump shampoo and conditioner and body wash and soap, which for a “5 star” property is surprising and not typical—this is more for a 4 or 3 star property. All of these items compounded suggested that this should have been a $150 room a night, not $600+. This was drastically disappointing. I would not recommend this property to anyone unless there were no other options. I won’t even begin to include the lack of service because it was during a time when they had limited service so I will chalk up the terrible service to “whoever was available to work.”

This review is for you if you booked this hotel (The Hotel Collection) as a Platinum Amex member Having read multiple Google reviews of this place during my stay, I think some of the concerns are warranted about the rooms being a little outdated compared to what we are paying. I booked the "Superior King" room and was told I was upgraded upon my check in. Can't say for sure if I really did get upgraded but that's not really a concern tbh. What was nice though was the fact that they let me check in to my room at 8am in the morning! I was so sure I'd have to wait until at least 2-3pm but they didn't hesitate to hand me my room keys at all, so that was nice ?. I don't know if this was purely because I was a platinum member or if they just do this regularly. So experience may vary lol. As for the daily $100 breakfast credit and the $100 experience credit (for the duration of the stay), they are very good benefits. Keep in mind you'll blast thru these credits super fast because you are in fact paying for a $6 muffin at the bakery ?. I don't know if I missed it in my Amex billing but upon checkout, I was charged a $25 per night "Historic Preservation" Fee. As if they didn't profit off you enough already. You can read up upon it but yeah, don't be surprised :/ I don't know about other 5 star hotels but the only fridge you get in the room is their "minibar" which is filled with their drinks and alcohol, so you don't get any space for your own stuff at all. As for the location, this is one of the best hotels you can get if you are looking for the typical New York tourist experience. As you are literally in the middle of Manhattan, you can walk 10-20 minutes in any direction and find something new to do or look at everyday.

Was traveling for work and booked through The Edit. Rooms a bit dated but very clean and bathrooms have been updated since the rest of the rooms have. Beautiful lobby and courtyard across from the cathedral. Peter at reception was incredibly helpful when I had to address something early morning - such a good attitude and big smile on his face while working that early shift! Hospitality is so hard to find in affordable hotels. I would definitely stay again based on my experience.

I love this hotel and just enjoyed a week stay with my family! We had a spacious suite which was perfect for us and the service we received from everyone at the hotel, the bellmen, concierge, housekeeping, the gold room, etc. was wonderful. The hotel is beautiful and the location is perfect. We will be back!
Jan 05, 2026 -
Great location, but we had breakfast included as part of our reservation and the restaurant refuses to seat us for the entirety of our three day stay. Rooms are spacious but dated decorations and technology. Overall this experience has not met my expectations and has negatively impacted our new year’s getaway. I would look elsewhere for a more elevated and enjoyable experience.

This was not a 5 star hotel experience. The tech that controls the room lighting, temperature and shades did not work perfectly the first day and simply crashed on the second day, what was worse, we were charged for an extra bed and mini-bar items that we simply did not use. The reception/guest-services staff make you feel like they are doing you a huge favor when you call them or ask them for something. When we stay at a 5 star hotel we expect a certain refinement in the simple things. How comfortable the leather on the seats are, how elegant the bathroom is, how refreshing the moisturizer is, how beautiful the furniture is and how it brings the room together to give you a sense you are in a palace. It should inspire you. This was simply not present at the Lotte.

Absolutely wonderful experience at the Lotte Palace during Christmas. We had a wonderful time. Everyone from the bellhops to housekeeping were so kind and welcoming. George and the kind man from Haiti were highlights! So funny and personable. Sofia from housekeeping was amazing at her job and so kind. We will definitely be back to visit.

Location: 5/5, near all the major tourist attractions. Room: definitely not a 5 star hotel room. No microwave, no coffee machine. If you moved the bottles inside the mini fridge, you’ll be charged, so you need to request another mini fridge. I feel like the beddings are not as clean, because I got some rashes during the stay. Service: besides waited for an hour during check in, it was fine. They don’t have automatic check out, so you’ll have to visit the front desk. You can leave your luggage at the hotel after check out, which is great.

Excellent location during a Christmas visit to NYC! Beautiful decorations at the property & close walking distance to all the holiday hot spots. Room cleaning staff is so pleasant and very attentive. We had an amazing view of St Patrick's Cathedral from our room. Would highly recommend this hotel.
Dec 24, 2025 -
The Lotte is a beautiful hotel in the perfect location- close to shopping , restaraunts, coffee shops and Central Park South and all other Christmas attractions. The courtyard and lobby are decorated beautifully for the Christmas Season. Staff is friendly and courteous. The rooms and bathrooms however are dated. The carpet is old and mauve, and the decor is sparse. For as beautiful as the hotel lobby is, and the price point, I would have expected the rooms to be much nicer and updated. The rooms do however have plenty of space.
Dec 19, 2025 -
Way overpriced for what you get. Waited over an hour to check in. People with kids strewn about the lobby and the staff didn’t even offer so much as a cup of water. Rooms are fine at best. Clean but not even a coffee machine in the room. I’ve stayed here many times and I’m confident I won’t be back. Their prices do not reflect what you get.

So, "an English man in New York" as the saying goes. First impressions on arrival were "WOW", our check out impressions were "WOOWWW" What a place, it realy is impressive. Most of the staff were superb, especially CLARA, she was the kindest person Ive ever met in the hotel world. CLARA took time to talk with us, 100% understood our silly little English traits and swiftly delivered a huge silver platter consisting of a kettle, cups and everything to make a good cup of tea up to our room. Even the tea bags were english ❤️ so a HUGE shout out to clara, thank you so much, we love you!! We were quickly dismissed/turned away at the door by the staff at the restaurant/bar one evening with a sharp stern "we have nothing for 30 mins" and carried on chatting to non-residants which I thought was extremely rude. We tried to ask a couple of questions but we were ignored as her conversation with a group of young men seemed more important than we, the very people actually paying very strong money to experience the Lotte Palace restaurant which we had heard so much about. Our cathedral view room on the 24th floor was breath taking, the view is something I never got tired of in the morning, afternoon or the superb evening lit up by the skyscrapers. Food was great via room service, the quality was in the taste. The concierge chaps were an absolute joy to deal with, these fellas made the holiday for me, every single one of these legends were way way more than helpful and the stories of years gone by were mesmerising. Even on check out, they made sure we were looked after. So, all in all, if you are English and visiting NY for the first time, go BIG and stay at the Lotte Palace, its not the cheapest but you get what you pay for. Good old fashioned service costs a premium everywhere in the world now days, but the people at the Lottee do it in style. Thank you soo much for a fantastic stay.❤️?

Food experience could have been better. The crust on the bread was hard as a rock and could break a tooth. Couldn’t cut it with knife and fork. Had to return it to the waiter and get it taken off the bill. It was presented beautifully which was a disappointment. It was cold toast and poached eggs were cold. ?? 3 juice glass servings was almost $30! Insane. came along with my New York local friend and mother. My friend ordered side of avocado because she’s gluten-free vegan and dairy free and didn’t even get a full avocado only half for $12.50. Her response was never has she ever only gotten half of an avocado when ordering avocado. It doesn’t even say, half whole sliced of an avocado on the menu or receipt. And then on top of our poor service, they added a 20% gratuity. 100% completely understand the hype of the hotel and wanting to experience a Sabrina and Blair gossip girl gilded age landmark. Especially during Thanksgiving holiday. But this wasn’t it. Came in with full excitement of the landmark to be disappointed by the lack of service. And was given attitude after returning my $30 toast plate. We went to the ladies room on our way out, which was another poor experience by bathroom attendance telling us not to leave toilet paper on the floor you would think we’d have better etiquette the fact we were even in the place to begin with. Just straight up rude and classless!

If you’ve ever wanted to look directly into the architectural soul of New York without actually hearing it scream, get a room overlooking St. Patrick’s Cathedral on the 28th floor. The view alone is worth pretending you planned this trip months in advance. The room itself was spacious and spotless, with “old-school” tech that some might call outdated, but I prefer to think of as historically preserved charm. Nothing says luxury like trying to figure out what year your light switches were born in. From the moment we arrived, the staff set the tone: George greeted us by taking our empty coffee cups as if he’d been waiting his whole life for that heroic moment, and Olga at the concierge desk confirmed our checkout time with a smile so genuine it nearly cured my seasonal anxiety. The hotel was fully decked out for the holidays—tasteful enough to feel festive, restrained enough not to look like Santa threw up. And after coming straight from Manhattan’s festive stampede, the calm lobby felt like someone hit the city’s mute button. Speaking of people-watching, the elevators here might actually be the best show in town. Every ride felt like a short story: business titans, overwhelmed tourists, one woman who looked like she was the holiday décor. A delight. Best of all? From the room, the city noise was virtually nonexistent. New York was still doing New York things below us… we just didn’t have to hear any of it. A true luxury. Would stay again—if only to ride the elevators and pretend I’m an extra in a prestige drama.

Where to begin? The location is incredible — absolutely a 5/5. The Christmas décor is beautiful as well, though be prepared to navigate crowds in the lobby taking photos (which we understand and didn’t mind). We travel frequently, both domestically and internationally, and unfortunately this hotel just doesn’t live up to the hype or the price. After a long day of travel, we wanted nothing more than a glass of wine, but there’s no hotel bar, and the Gold Room requires reservations. There was supposedly another bar area, but we never once saw it open — and this was during Thanksgiving week. The only place we were able to get a drink was the outdoor festive bar that’s open to the public. Check-in offered no hospitality either — not even a simple glass of water. Most hotels offer water or something within the lobby. The room itself was spacious, but the beds were hard and uncomfortable. The bathroom had definitely seen better days, though that wasn’t a major issue for us. What really disappointed us was the lack of service, especially given the price. We shouldn’t have to walk over to the Intercontinental just to get a glass of wine or a quick snack for the kids before dinner. It’s genuinely absurd that there’s nowhere within the hotel to simply relax and unwind before going out.

We met Adam early in 2024 when my daughter, my mom, and myself walked off of Madison avenue and inquired if we would be able to peak in and see the ballroom, in anticipation of our daughter’s engagement. From our first encounter, Adam was pleasant, knowledgeable and professional. He spent a lot of time during that first encounter answering questions, and showing us the different reception and cocktail hour rooms. It didn’t matter that we didn’t have an appointment, Adam’s approach was committed to excellence and represented Lotte NY Palace with pride ( he probably was aware that my daughter was not yet engaged);but he treated us with respect as though we would book the wedding that day. Adam’s professionalism and respect left an impression on us when it came to deciding which NYC venue to book a classic NY wedding for our daughter. We booked our daughter’s wedding at Lotte NY Palace in September 2024. The wedding process can be overwhelming and stressful at times. Adam was there to guide us and put us at ease several times throughout the process. He didn’t deflect or dis-regard any minor question or concern we had. He demonstrated warmth and supported us when we needed it the most. At the tasting Adam addressed all the questions and balanced two Italian families and their questions regarding portion sizes, type of clams served, etc making it fun and exhibiting confidence and again Lotte’s commitment to excellence. We will always be in gratitude for Adam’s hand holding when we needed it most. He understood the bride’s anxiety the MOB’s anxiety and all the politics when hosting a major event and the stress that is associated with it. His consistent reassurance and confidence gave us confidence. When we arrived at the Lotte NY Palace a few days before the wedding, Adam met us as we pulled into the parking garage with a big smile and warm reception. I must say all of the staff at Lotte NY Palace were professional and accommodating. From the first bellhop to the last everyone could not of been nicer. The personal dedication was evident throughout our stay. Everyone was kind, warm, patient, and efficient. This provided us with great comfort and allowed us to be present in the joy of our daughter’s wedding weekend. Adam surprised my daughter with an amazing upgrade that dramatically altered the vibe of the wedding weekend. On the wedding evening, Adam executed with precision and the event surpassed our expectations. We can not express in words our thanks and appreciation for all that was implemented by Adam and his staff to ensure my daughter’s wedding was the “The Best Day Ever”. Our guests continue to rave about the impeccable service, the quality of the food, and the flawless execution of the evening. Our family and friends will cherish the magical memories at Lotte NY Palace forever.

This was an excellent experience. The staff was courteous, friendly, and professional. The rooms were great! My room afforded me a beautiful view of St. Patrick's cathedral, off 5th Avenue (yes, THAT 5th Avenue!) And it was really cool because the US Open was happening, and we had official tennis players staying in our hotel! Our room had 2 queen beds, the bathrooms were appointed in marble, I felt well pampered! Would definitely return!

Good overall experience, but beware. I stuck my almond milk in the mini bar. Shifting the mini bar contents around was not appropriate. Upon checkout, the receptionist gentlemen notified me that I had accrued a $158 charge on my room tab by moving the bottles around. He told me that next time I stay I should ask to have my almond milk refrigerated by the staff; the mini bar was not for my personal use. He was frustrated by the large amount of people checking in and so had already been rude when I was waiting to be checked out. The bellmen were all great and very helpful. The mailroom staff gave me a piece of tape. The rooms are large and comfortable. I came here on business so I didn't book my own accomodation. The reception staff doesn't realize how important their interactions with patrons are. Put a sign on the mini-fridge and tell hotel guests that another option is available. Don't tell them off after the fact for a harmless error as I put all the bottles exactly as I found them.

We were told upon check in we paid for a handicap room. I was told it was because I booked through a second party. The bathroom had horrible lighting and the mattress had two large dips in it. Very uncomfortable. The room was also a bit worn. The location was great. Coffee shop and bar both very nice.

I came back to edit this review because Peter at the front desk is AMAZING!!!! His customer service and demeanor was vibrant, friendly and outstanding. Give this guy a promotion! As for the rooms we had issues with both rooms. Someone in purchasing dept needs to order a ton of clean new white lamp shades. In both rooms we had they were stained deep yellow and soiled looking. Also the tub cleanliness needed an extra wipe down (hair). View was great. Peter was great. Location was great. For the price the room standards and accessories etc need updating.

The Lotte Palace is such a special place! The hotel itself is immaculate, our views from the 32nd floor overlooked the Cathedral, Radio City Music Hall, and all the way down to the Hudson. Location in midtown Manhattan can’t be beat! Walkable to Broadway, Times Square, rockafellar plaza, subways, and so many nearby shops and restaurants. Concierge was so attentive (thank you Diego for responding to the majority of my inquiries). Check in and out was seamless. Housekeeping did a wonderful job refreshing our room when requested. Sometimes the elevators were slow and crowded but we only used them a couple of times per day as we were mostly out exploring. They truly strive for excellence at the Palace! We stayed as a family of 5 in the 2 bedroom/2 bathroom family suite with a king, 2 fulls, and pullout bed. We also requested a mini fridge which was so nice! We would be so happy to stay at the Lotte in the future. Picture shows view from #3212

We stayed here for multiple nights and really enjoyed our stay. With a couple issues. The good: Fantastic service, from the bellman to front desk to housekeeping, everyone is a professional at this hotel and it shows. The location is amazing as well if you’re into shopping and all that midtown has to offer. Easily walkable even the Times Square. The lobby and entrance are beautiful and the history really shines through. The meh: We stayed in a corner suite. Nothing was bad about the room but nothing was really great either. And for the price you pay for this hotel you really expect “great.” The rooms’ decorations/furniture/feel were very underwhelming. The sitting area felt a bit drab, like something you’d have in an embassy suites. The bed was comfortable, but again not a stand out. Everything was very clean and I applaud housekeeping, they do a very good job. The bathroom didn’t have a double vanity sink situation which I feel like is standard for hotels of this caliber, especially in a suite. There were also a couple maintenance issues I noticed, like a dusty bathroom vent and some caulk peeling off between tiles in the shower. All in all we enjoyed our stay. I just feel like you’re paying for the prestige of the name and the location more than you are for a luxurious stay.

Torn between a 4 and 5 star rating. Primarily due to the hotels classification as a 5 star hotel. Hotel lobby and restaurant/bar are grand with gilded age decor that fits the hotel. Rooms were a large size by NYC standards however a little dated and tired when it comes to the smaller details. Service was helpful when prompted. But only occasionally preemptive. We ended up being locked out of our room due to the key reader running out of power. Staff had us back in our room within 5mins and door fixed within 10mins. However it would have been nice to have not had to deal with an issue when tired and returning for the night. Cafe offered good on the go options and coffee/espresso. Breakfast restaurant had delicious options all be it a bit expensive. Evening bar very pricey with not great tasting drinks. I wondered if the drinks were made extra strong to compensate for the $30+ a piece price of the cocktails. At a dive bar I find an overpour a bonus but at a nice cocktail bar I'm expecting more quality over quantity. Service also seemed to disappeared after initial seating and drink orders.

Very good hotel. Front desk service (Michael) was articulate and thorough with hotel details. Credit for café was a nice extra and the service in the Cafe was excellent especially considering the crowds. Location was central and accessible. Rooms were huge (for NYC almost excessive) - note that "family rooms" come with the short toilets mentioned in reviews. We were allowed early checkin even arriving before noon. Staff are friendly and even elevators were plentiful and fast! Highly recommend this hotel.
