What clients say about Walker Hotel Greenwich Village in New York (NY)
-
We stayed at the Walker Hotel for our honeymoon and had an amazing experience. The hotel is stylish, cozy, and perfect for a romantic stay. Our room was clean, comfortable, and beautifully designed. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and the location made it easy to explore the city. The food was delicious. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it for couples or anyone looking for a great hotel experience.

The Walker Hotel is a Greenwich Village masterclass in modern comfort and Prohibition-era soul. We worked with Alexandria and her team, who ensured our stay was the utmost delight. Our 18th-floor room offered an iconic Empire State Building view, a wonderfully plush bed, and a sublime bathtub. The lobby—with its fireplace, live jazz, and expert bartender—is a treat to linger in. Perfectly located for any NYC experience, it’s a soulful sanctuary we can't wait to return to.

This hotel is beyond amazing! I’ve walked by it for years and my work colleagues at Adobe always stay here. Recently, I needed an overnight in this neighborhood and tried it out. Not only did I get the best room - balcony, soaking tub and Empire State view - but everyone was friendly and it was just easy to be here. Great location. C.O. Bigelow toiletries. So clean! It’s the best!!!!

The Walker hotel was amazing! The staff were so kind and amenable. The hotel is gorgeous and very aesthetic. Clean and well taken care of. The reason why I didn’t give it a five star review was that their menu wasn’t really gluten and dairy free friendly, which made breakfast hard since we had to order in and the rooms were pretty dark which made it hard to do my make up.
Jan 06, 2026 -
Really great hotel in Greenwich village! We were able to check in easily and talk to the staff with any questions. The room was a cozy fit for two! We did hope to have to have a little bit more room for our things but the view and the giant bathroom (huge bathtub) were great! There was jazz one of the evenings and sitting in the lobby near the fire place was a highlight of the stay. Great location as you can walk to union square and catch any train to get around the city but still far away from the crowds. We will definitely be back on our next visit!

Superb customer service. Room was lovely. Clean. I’ll come back and stay here again just for the water pressure in the shower!!
Dec 28, 2025 -
Perfect location! Everything you’re looking for. A very charming lobby and room. We are especially grateful for Lilian who was extremely professional and sweet to us during our stay. She ensured everything was as smooth as possible for us and we’re very appreciative of her.

I stay here 2-3 nights a week. The staff is friendly and welcoming. Free live music from students at the New School in the lobby / living room every week night. Nick and the team at Society Café in the back of the house serve a great menu.

This hotel gets it all right: Great location, warm and welcoming staff, pretty rooms (note the Bigelow & Co bath products, from the wonderful iconic apothecary of the same name a few blocks south), large windows that actually open, comfy-chic lobby and the kind of bar/resto you might swing by even as a local. Will definitely be back!

Recently stayed here for a work trip. I was nervous to be in the city alone until I got to the hotel. It was a great room, safe area and the employees made it felt like home. I have to travel for work and I will be sure to stay here again!
Nov 12, 2025 -
The lobby is great. Rooms so-so. Some angry man painting the stairs decided to start yelling at us for trying to use them even though the sign simply said "watch your step". They really need to inform their contractors not to start shouting at guests when it isn't actually clear what's going on. Very poor experience.

We were very much looking forward to our time at The Walker Hotel, and even upgraded our room to one with a terrace; however, we we disappointed with a few aspects of the hotel. The main issue was the heating. Our visit was at the end of October and the warmest our room got to during our first night was 63 degrees - we woke up freezing. We called the front desk to see if they could come look at the issue and we were informed that the heating had not been turned on for the entire hotel. We were offered extra blankets and a space heater. For spending upwards of $600 a night, this feels unacceptable. Furthermore, it’s not safe to run a space heater at night so we continued to be freezing each night. This is not the service I expect from a boutique hotel, we really regretted our decision to stay there because of this when we could have splurged somewhere else. The lobby and cafe areas were beautiful, but the rooms were very dark. There was even a hole on the patio furniture of the terrace we upgraded for. It was an underwhelming experience and I would choose to stay elsewhere in the future due to these issues.

The entire hotel has no heat right now. No one said a word about that at check-in, it’s their little secret until you find yourself shivering in your room at 4 AM. Supposedly they’ll have heat sometime next week, which means people will continue to get screwed over by this dishonest business.

Room is very small and bed more like a double but advertised as a queen. Check-in was disappointing. Room not ready until after 3.30 and staff were unfriendly and unhelpful. Maybe could have excused this but we were cold and wet as it was raining heavily. We came back to our room at 3pm next day and room not serviced. Feel we should go out again. Location is good, plenty of shopping and restaurants nearby. Won’t stay here again. Might have made a difference if front of house staff had kept us informed of availability of the room or at least apologised.

Walker Hotel Greenwich has a fantastic location in Manhattan—close to NoMad, the West Village, and plenty of great spots to explore. The property itself is beautiful, both inside and out. What truly made our stay special was the exceptional staff. Everyone we interacted with showed real warmth and professionalism. Nadia at the front desk kindly checked us in early at 2 PM, even though the standard check-in was at 3. The team at the Society Café were also incredibly polite and attentive—truly a highlight of our visit. Unfortunately, the experience inside the room didn’t live up to the rest of the hotel. The rooms are very small and in need of maintenance—dusty surfaces, broken window handles, and worn-out chair covers were noticeable. The decor also felt a bit dated. For an average of $500 per night, it fell short of expectations. Our $25 Society Café credit was also not applied to the final bill, though that wasn’t a major issue. Overall, we still had a great stay thanks to the amazing staff and prime location, but the room quality and pricing didn’t align with what we expected. A fair rate would have been around $350 per night. While my 2-star rating reflects the room condition and value, the wonderful team at Walker Hotel absolutely deserves 5 stars for their hospitality.

Absolutely awful hotel. The room we were given on the 6th floor was so small you literally had to walk in sideways. It was dark and the small window faced another block of apartments. The heating was not working and there was a constant noise in the room as if someone was running water next door. The engineer came and apparently fixed the noise but the noise continued! He also took our coffee and when asked he said he didn’t! The smoke detector light kept flashing all night which was very irritating. The room was freezing so we asked for blankets for a two bed two pax room and they brought one blanket. The restaurant menu was very limited and the lighting in the restaurant was very very dark. Overall I would say this hotel is not worth what they charge & I will not be staying with them again.

A great stay at the Walker. Room, amenities, and view were incredible. William at the front desk was so helpful with everything we needed from reservations to helping us with our room!

We had a really lovely weekend stay here! Overall, the rooms could probably use a little refresh but I think the location makes up for it. Would definitely stay here again. Pros - location is 10/10, staff is super friendly, really cute vibe and decor , great bar/restaurant situation, great view depending on what floor you’re on (pic attached from 16th floor) Cons - rooms are a little stale/outdated (I’d love to see them replace the carpet) and the AC circulation isn’t great (not terrible, but the room was definitely a little humid and the AC wouldn’t go below 71)

Very disappointed in this very expensive hotel. Just because it's decorated nicely (Deco) and in a great location, doesn't mean they can leave out amenities like body lotion, paper and pen or pencil, extra blanket or pillow, and a TV that includes streaming, not just broadcast TV with a remote that only works if maintenance shows you hoe to punch in code. Also, as mentioned in other reviews, the heating/cooling system doesn't work too well, so I was freezing all night. Nice that they supply complementary coffee in the AM and ice tea in the afternoons. And you can request a mini fridge and coffeemaker. Ironically, I felt most comfortable after checking out when I was offered a glass of prosecco.

Warm, welcoming staff and a cool sunken lobby with live music set the tone. One of my favorite burgers in Manhattan. A standout, memorable place to stay in the city.
Sep 22, 2025 -
The hotel felt old and dark. The rooms are extremely small, you can barely turn around in them. Don’t be fooled by the beautiful photos online; the reality is completely different. The only big advantage is the hotel’s excellent location.
Aug 20, 2025 -
Positive: Love that they have live music in the lobby at night. Breakfasts very good. Negative: The hidden taxes and fees that were added at the end was just annoying. Also, we were told that we had a $25 a day breakfast credit. We were given the credit only once.
Aug 11, 2025 -
How this excellent little hotel has only four stars escapes me. Great rooms. Great staff. Excellent eats and craft cocktails. Center of the Greenwich scene. Walkable to anywhere. Gotta warn: east side of the hotel gets a little bright early, but who cares? It’s NYC. Jazz in the bar six nights a week.

We enjoyed our stay here in May 2025. The bedroom was stylish and comfortable with stunning views of NYC. The Society Café has a super menu and we had a delicious breakfast there every morning. The location was perfect for our trip and the highlights for us were visiting the High Line, Soho and Times Square which were all within walking distance. We look forward to returning to stay again.

DIRTY. The hotel has a very good location and a friendly and helpful staff. Otherwise: 1. The windows are so dirty that you barely can see the street (inside the room it is dim even with sunshine outside). 2. The floor cover is old and worn and... STINKS. If you would try to open the window to let fresh air in - no, sorry (only opens slightly like a few cm). During the day the stinkiness of the floor is not a problem - you simply go out. At night, however, its a different story. You have nowhere to go and are forced to just try to sleep. I was close to vomiting a few times because of the stink. 3. Upon arival to my room - I found someone elses cut NAILS on the floor. This tells you about the hotel's processes - if and how they check the room cleanness after the guest leaves... Oh, and not possible to leave an opinion on Booking - they somehow blocked this functionality despite I was a guest there. Oh, and upon leaving they will charge you additional $40 per day (climate tax?) but will not inform you about it on arrival. They leave it for the last day as a kind of suprise gift from the hotel.

Quiet, retro but modern hotel. Very affordable and walkable to great spots. Friendly staff. Our first room was very damp, they fixed this right away. Got us a room 10 floors higher with a view and nothing in that room was wet. Comfortable bed and clean room. The brunch cafe was delicious too, you get a $25 voucher to go there with your stay!! Classy move

We recently hosted a special event, and stayed at, The Walker Hotel Greenwich Village. We made all of the arrangements long distance, which can be tricky. There was no need for concern at all. Erin, the event director is amazing: so kind, considerate, and easy to work with. Chef Nicholas’ creations are delicious. We loved the fact that he sources most ingredients locally, concentrating on green markets. Haley executed our event and her attention to detail went beyond our wildest expectations. Everyone at this hotel from the managers to the front desk staff to servers to bartenders, etc., are in a league of their own. We were so impressed by the care they take of each and every guest. The event space (The Society Cafe) is lovely. So warm and inviting with an old school NYC vibe. The glass ceiling is a bonus. Oh! And the rooms are well appointed, extremely comfortable stay. The location is perfect.

I write this at 6am, after anfalse fire alarm was discharged. I usually don’t leave many negative reviews unless compelled to, and currently, waking up 2 hours before scheduled on a vacation weekend has done this to me. The lobby staff are lovely, and the lobby decor and ambiance is phenomenal. The view in our room was also fantastic, this location is thought to beat. This is where my compliments sadly end. This place is hot in the summer. H-O-T hot hot hot - I hope that makes it into the Google AI summary so other folks have the benefit of knowing. Maybe this would be an alright stay in the winter, but I wouldn’t stay here if you’re relying on the hotel to keep you cool. The in-room service is also sub-par. Despite requesting our room to be refreshed, it never was over two days. I get it, it’s not like someone should be waiting by your door with bated breath to tidy your room every two minutes, but never getting a room service or even towel change over two days of stay is a little disappointing, especially when you request it. And then there’s the false fire alarm at 5:30AM. All in all, the lobby and lobby staff are great, and the decor and location are top tier. This place would be a phenomenal social club. Unfortunately, you also come to a hotel to rest and sleep. And we didn’t find much here, and likely will not stay again.

From start to finish, my experience at this hotel was exceptional. The service was top-tier, with a highly professional and attentive team that truly cares about guest satisfaction. Jonathan, the manager, was incredibly responsive and ensured every detail of my stay was seamless. Meg at the front desk was welcoming and helpful, and the engineering team was always available when needed. The room on the 18th floor with a terrace was stunning, offering a beautiful and comfortable space to relax. Thoughtful touches throughout my stay made it even more special. From the moment I arrived to the moment I left, everything exceeded my expectations. This hotel sets a high standard for hospitality, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for an exceptional stay.

The hotel is in a really nice, and convenient, location. There's plenty of places to walk and eat around, even late at night. The staff was very kind, and friendly. As others had mentioned, the rooms were fairly small, but that's New York. Everything felt well maintained, specifically very clean. Some of the wallpaper was peeling in the room, but that wasn't the end of the world. The lobby always felt very lively, with jazz students coming to play seemingly every night. Very enjoyable atmosphere, and I'd happily stay here again.
