What clients say about The Peninsula New York in New York (NY)

Worst Peninsula yet. Terrible entry/lobby, small room, only 1 sink in bathroom, housekeeping forgot top sheets twice, no in room coffee maker (had to request one). Good light controls.

We had a wonderful stay at the The Peninsula New York for a belated Valentine’s celebration. The location is unbeatable — centrally located and perfect for getting to anything and everything you want to do in New York. A special thank you to Stephanie, Director of the Front Desk, who had champagne and chocolate-covered strawberries brought to our room as a surprise. Such a thoughtful touch that made our stay feel truly special. Exceptional service, beautiful accommodations, and an experience we can’t wait to repeat.

Absolutely terrible!!! I have stayed at this hotel multiple times and I was so disappointed to see how much this place has gone down hill. Decided to stay here for Valentines Day with my wife, the first night the bath tub would not drain and the faucet leaked all night - called housekeeping immediately they said they would send someone up right away - however no one showed up - the second night the lights in the room blinked on and off all night long - immediately called housekeeping to alert them of the problem - they said once again that they would send someone right up - of course once again no one showed - the next morning I ran into a manager at the elevator and showed him the video of the lights going on and off in the room and he laughed and said "Yea we have been having problems with ghosts" and that was it. When I checked out I once again explained the problems we had with the room two nights of our stay and was told that they would credit our bill 30% for our trouble - that was the third lie I was told and of course they billed the full amount. I would be disappointed if this was a Motel 6 but to get this kind of experience at a Peninsula Hotel in New York for $700 a night and to be repeatedly lied to is an embarrassment - NEVER AGAIN PENINSULA!! to many options in New York to be treated this way. Strongly suggest you stay somewhere else where they have respect for their guests.

We stayed in the Peninsula for a week and we have been blown away by the experience. We have stayed in multiple nice hotels in the area but each time we come to NYC we try a new one, well, from now on we will ONLY be staying in The Peninsula as it’s impossible to go anywhere else now. The location, service, facilities and comfort is exceptional. We are already planning our next visit, thank you.

Did a one day trip to NYC to catch a matinee and a great dinner out. The hotel was terrific. Staff throughout was professional, attentive and genuinely concerned with making our stay epic. The small touches were surprising and welcomed and the Clement restaurant surpassed expectations. Easily walkable to theaters restaurants etc. We will return.

We had an amazing stay at The Peninsula New York. The hotel is luxurious, elegant, and perfectly located in the heart of Manhattan, making it easy to explore the city. The rooms are spacious, beautifully decorated, and very comfortable. The staff is exceptionally professional, attentive, and friendly, making every moment of our stay enjoyable. The amenities, including the rooftop bar and spa, are top-notch. Highly recommend The Peninsula New York for anyone looking for a luxurious and memorable stay in the city!

We stayed at The Peninsula New York after having such a wonderful experience at the Peninsula in Los Angeles for afternoon tea and the spa, and this stay absolutely lived up to our expectations. We’ve previously stayed at the St. Regis across the street and the Ritz-Carlton as well, but the Peninsula truly stands out. The location is unbeatable — right in the heart of Manhattan, surrounded by all the iconic luxury brands and just steps from Rockefeller Center. Everything feels effortlessly convenient yet calm and refined. From the moment we arrived, the service and hospitality were exceptional. Every staff member was warm, professional, and genuinely welcoming. The hotel itself was immaculate, quiet, and beautifully maintained. We especially loved the thoughtful details, like the built-in spa music in the bathroom — such a relaxing touch. The coffee and cookies were also delicious and much appreciated. Unfortunately, we didn’t have time to check out the pool or gym this trip, but that just gives us another reason to come back. When I asked my wife where she’d like to stay next time, her answer was immediate: The Peninsula. A special thank you to Marco at the bar for his friendliness and to Deepthi and the front desk team for their excellent service. Manhattan never disappoints, and The Peninsula truly made this stay unforgettable. Highly recommend!

Christmas is my favourite holiday, and I’ve been going to The Peninsula Hotel to take photos by their staircase for the past two years. It was always beautiful and I had very pleasant experiences. However, my third visit left a bad taste in my mouth, and I believe this will be the last time I ever step foot in this hotel. Warning: they might kick you out. I went there with my family today. I was wearing a red dress and wanted to take a few photos with my one-year-old baby. Before I even began taking pictures, a staff member came over and asked if I was a hotel guest. I said no, and he told me that I was not allowed to take photos and that I would need to speak to their PR team if I wanted to do so. I was confused because I could clearly see many people coming in from the street, taking photos, and then leaving. He then told me it would be okay to take pictures on the first floor by the stairs, but not on the second floor. So I went and started taking photos. As soon as I did, another staff member came and asked if I was a guest and, if not, told me to get off the stairs because I was “blocking the way.” Meanwhile, I saw other random people walking in from the lobby, taking photos, and leaving without any issues. I tried to take a few more pictures, and this time security came and told me to move away. I felt confused, singled out, disrespected, and treated very unfairly. The ironic part is that later, when my husband (who is white, while I am East Asian) joined us for family photos, we were able to take several pictures and nobody bothered us at all. So I can’t help but ask: is The Peninsula being sexist, racist, or both?

I have stayed at The Peninsula in NYC about 8 times through the years. Most of my stays have been great. This last trip in Dec was not the five star quality I normally have experienced there, The room was cold when we got there. I called downstairs and the "engineer" came up to check out the situation. The thermostat said 75 degrees but he pointed his equipment and it said 67 degree in the room.. When he pointed to the vent at the top, it said 118. Bottom line, he was no help. We asked for a heater and extra blanket which they brought up. Seemed strange to be in a five star hotel that could not correct the temperature in your room. The concierge service which was previously excellent felt short this time. I asked if they could see about changing our reservation from 8pm to 7pm at Tavern On The Green. They called back and said they were too busy at the restaurant and couldn't change it. I called the restaurant right after that and they said "No problem." I received a letter under my door about a confirmed reservation at 1:00 for 4 people at the hotel restaurant which I never made. I called downstairs and told the receptionist. When I checked out, the receptionist said the concierge said I had made a reservation of some sort rather than own up that he made a mistake. There were other unsuccessful attempts to get us reservations but the examples I gave are enough to show the decline in service. Then my guest ordered breakfast in the room. She just ate a small amount and went for a spa treatment. When she came back, they had taken her pastries and breakfast away. The room wasn't cleaned but they had taken her food away which she had barely eaten, Then when I checked out, it showed my breakfast credit was $75 not $108 a day. I told them that was wrong and they reluctantly checked and saw I was correct. It was getting a bit annoying, and to their credit, they removed the breakfast charges. I miss the warm welcome and outstanding service I have felt there through the years. We paid $1,625 night before taxes which was a discount, but for that amount, I expected better service. Lumi at the spa was great and I can highly recommend her. The holiday decorations were beautiful, as always. I left disappointed and will probably not return.

Our stay at The Peninsula New York was simply exceptional. The hotel was beautifully decorated with a magical, luxurious holiday feel, and the service was outstanding from the moment we arrived. The concierge gave fantastic recommendations, the food was spectacular, and the extra candy shop treat for little ones was such a thoughtful touch. Truly an unforgettable experience. We can’t wait to come back.

⭐ The Peninsula New York – A Christmas Wonderland in the Heart of Manhattan ⭐ Visiting The Peninsula New York during the Christmas season was nothing short of magical. My friend and I stopped by specifically to see their famous holiday decorations, and they absolutely exceeded every expectation. The moment we stepped inside, we were surrounded by an atmosphere that felt straight out of a Christmas movie—elegant, festive, and breathtakingly beautiful. The lobby was transformed into a glowing winter wonderland, with sparkling lights, luxurious garlands, and a stunning Christmas tree that instantly put us in the holiday spirit. Every corner of the hotel was thoughtfully decorated with such impeccable taste and attention to detail that we couldn’t resist taking photos everywhere we turned. What made the experience even more special was the warm and welcoming ambiance. Even as visitors who weren’t staying overnight, we felt like the staff truly wanted us to enjoy the magic they created. It’s rare to find a place that balances such grandeur with genuine hospitality, but The Peninsula does it flawlessly. If you’re in New York during the holiday season, The Peninsula is an absolute must-see. It’s not just a hotel—it’s a Christmas experience, and one we’ll definitely be returning for next year. 🎄

The Peninsula hotels are known for their exceptional service and The peninsula luxurious amenities. Here's a single-word review: "Spectacular!" Which Peninsula location are you interested in? New York? Beverly Hills? Maybe another city?
Dec 05, 2025 -
I recently stayed at this hotel and, unfortunately, the service fell below the standard I expected. While the property itself is pleasant, my experience with the staff—particularly the concierge team was disappointing. During my stay, I approached a concierge named Roberto to kindly ask if he could take a photo for us using the camera’s flash. He informed us that using flash was against hotel policy and declined in a manner that came across as unnecessarily rude and dismissive. To clarify the matter, we later asked a different concierge about the supposed “no-flash policy.” They informed us that no such policy existed. This confirmed that we had been given incorrect information and treated in a way that did not align with the professionalism one would expect from a hotel of this level. I believe in fairness and understand that staff members can have off moments, but the discrepancy in both the information provided and the treatment we received was unacceptable. I hope the management will address this internally to ensure future guests experience consistent, respectful service.

We tried several hotels in NY and also many The Peninsula around the world I think The Peninsula NY is the worst! I do not recommend it. Rooms are very basic with no elementary school equipments as coffee machine or complementary water The beds are very uncomfortable This hotel need to be upgraded and renewed to be as good as others Prices are crazy and should be divided by 2 at least Special thank to James who tried his best to satisfy us

My husband and I had a wonderful stay at the Peninsula New York, what a magnificent hotel. From the front desk staff, to the amazing spa personnel. We enjoyed our stay from start to finish. We will definitely be back!

After our first visit last year, we came back to the Peninsula NYC. The level of care provided by the team is on another level. Their hospitality, their kindness, all the thoughtful touches make it that we love it here so much. Every interaction with anyone from the staff is genuinely friendly and you can tell they all feel like a big family. They make you feel like you're home but with a flawless way of making it luxurious too. They anticipate your needs and deliver service with genuine sympathy. Special shoutout to Allan and Samir, who are exceptional. Thank you so much for everything!!

That review sounds fantastic! Here is the revised review, written from a different perspective and incorporating mentions of the pool and rooftop bar. A Sanctuary of Five-Star Luxury in the Heart of Manhattan I recently had the pleasure of staying at The Peninsula New York, and I can confidently say this is one of the world's truly elite hotels. The level of care provided by the team was simply flawless. Every interaction with the staff was positive, whether it was a quick request to the concierge or a friendly greeting in the lobby. Their ability to anticipate our needs and deliver service with such genuine warmth made us feel like honored guests throughout our entire stay. The guest rooms are magnificent. We were instantly impressed by how spacious the rooms are, a genuine luxury in Manhattan. Beyond the size, the detail is remarkable; the latest technology is built seamlessly into the rooms, controlling everything from lighting to privacy with a single touch. This high-tech efficiency, paired with the unbelievably soft and high-quality bed and linens, ensured we had deep, restorative sleep every night. The amenities here elevate the experience far beyond a typical luxury stay. The rooftop bar, Salon de Ning, offers incredible views and is the perfect spot for an evening cocktail. Equally impressive is the pool and spa area, which provides a tranquil, beautiful escape from the city hustle. The hotel's Fifth Avenue location is unbeatable, putting you steps away from the best shopping, dining, and cultural sites. We travel a lot, and this is, without a doubt, an amazing hotel that has set a new benchmark for us in terms of luxury and service.

Exceptional Stay at The Peninsula New York My recent stay at The Peninsula New York was truly outstanding, and it immediately cemented the hotel as one of the best in the world. From the moment we arrived until the time of our departure, every customer service interaction was impeccable. The staff went above and beyond, consistently demonstrating a level of professionalism and warmth that is rare to find. Whether it was the doorman, the front desk, or the housekeeping team, every member of the Peninsula staff was genuinely friendly, highly attentive, and proactive in making our stay comfortable. The accommodations themselves were a highlight. Our room was remarkably spacious, providing a luxurious retreat right in the heart of Manhattan. It didn't feel like a standard city hotel room; rather, it felt like a large, private apartment. The attention to detail extended to the amenities, which included the latest in-room technology. Everything from the climate control to the lighting and entertainment systems was seamlessly integrated and easy to use, making for a truly modern and convenient experience. Furthermore, a great night's sleep is guaranteed here. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the linens were of the finest quality—sumptuous and soft. It truly felt like sleeping on a cloud, ensuring we were refreshed for our busy days in the city. Finally, you simply can't beat the location. Situated right on Fifth Avenue in Midtown, the hotel is perfectly positioned for shopping, visiting museums, and is within easy walking distance of Central Park and major sights. It offers the perfect blend of tranquility inside and vibrant city life just outside its doors. We travel a lot, and without a doubt, The Peninsula New York is an amazing hotel. It's a gold standard for luxury and hospitality that we wholeheartedly recommend.

The service at the Peninsula is amazing! It was raining when I came and the staff walked with me and held the umbrella while I waited for my uber. Felix is our favorite person to see at the hotel bar, Clement. He is so friendly and attentive. Nick was also very attentive although the bar was very busy! Thank you for wonderful experience while in NY!

We paid $1,500 per night, but the hotel was quite disappointing. I would rate it as a 4-star hotel, not 5 stars. The only advantage is the location. Overall, I do not recommend it at all. • No lobby! • Very limited dining options • No coffee machine, tea, or kettle was provided in the room — they were only brought upon request. Coffee cups were not replaced during the entire stay and were left dirty. • Room service staff were friendly but not professional • The windows were dirty

had a wonderful stay at this hotel! The staff was incredibly professional and welcoming from the moment I arrived. They kindly accommodated an early check-in, which made a big difference after a long trip. The hotel itself was beautiful and well-maintained, and our room was spacious, and comfortable. Everything about the experience was smooth and enjoyable. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to others!

I was walking around new york for the first time for my birthday as i started to feel very unwell. Me and my mom needed to find a quick place to sit and the people here had no issue with me and her sitting in the lobby for as long as we needed. They asked if i was okay constantly and offering water if i needed any. I’m extremely grateful for the staff helping me out making sure I was safe. I did not stay in this hotel, but I can tell this is a great place by the surroundings and people working there. Thank you!!

We walked into the building to try and speak with a manager about booking multiple connecting suites for our wedding night. We were stopped by one of the guys in the front in which we explained our situation and he was extremely rude and dismissive. He told us to book online even though I told him I needed to speak with someone. Anyways, we turned around and will take our business elsewhere. There are so many nice hotels in New York without the attitude.

The hotel is very clean all the time, the rooms are big enough and in great conditions. Service is excellent in every area. Our kids loved the amenities and gifts. The only thing that disappointed me a little is the food, it hasn’t been great and the options are very limited. The location is wonderful as you have the main luxury brands around the hotel within walking distance and it’s not as busy and loud as the hotels closer to broadway or Times Square. It’s within walking distance from Central Park.

One of the best hotel experiences I've had. Service and level of detail was top notch. They had 2 connecting rooms for us and it was much more like a2 bedroom suite! Front desk is excellent. We were greeted with a peninsula teddy bear for each of my kids with their names written on the bears outfit with a balloon. When we came back in the evening there was bear chocolates with my kids names on those too. They had robes and slippers in kids sizes for us too. Beds were super comfortable. Rooms were full of tech. Perfect location. Couldn't recommend it more! Absolutely beautiful and can't wait to go back

The rooftop!! Nice spot and awesome service. I asked if they had any vegan options for dessers but they didn’t, yet they brought me some strawberries to make up for it! Also ordered a mojito and at the time of checking out they noticed I didn’t drink much of it (cause I didn’t like it much) so they refused for me to pay for the whole thing! Though I wanted to pay for at least the amazing service. Highly recommended, and would definitely come again.

We were just there last week. Absolutely gorgeous hotel, perfect location, and the staff is unbelievably accommodating. They truly could not have been nicer. Every single employee was so kind, it was rather remarkable. We are definitely going back.

I had an absolutely wonderful stay at The Peninsula New York! From the moment I arrived, the staff was warm, professional, and truly attentive. The room was beautifully designed, incredibly comfortable, and offered a peaceful retreat from the city buzz. The service throughout the hotel was flawless — from the concierge to housekeeping to in-room dining, everything was handled with care and efficiency. The rooftop pool and spa are stunning, with breathtaking views over Manhattan — a real highlight of the experience. The location is simply perfect. Right in the heart of Midtown, just steps from Fifth Avenue, Central Park, and some of the best shopping and dining in the city. You really couldn’t ask for a better base to explore New York. A flawless experience. The Peninsula New York is the definition of luxury and elegance. I’ll definitely be coming back!

The Peninsula is truly an unparalleled experience. My boyfriend and I stayed there together, and it was beyond extraordinary. From the moment we arrived, the service was flawless—every staff member made us feel like VIPs. The room was spacious, beautifully designed, and offered stunning views that made our stay feel like a dream. We loved it so much that we recommended it to a close friend, and they had the same incredible experience!
