Hi, I’m Parmida Alizadeh and I am a 13yr old overachieving girl with a dream. A dream to pursue my dreams of being an actor against my family’s wishes of it because it’s “not a stable career” ?
My research shows (yes, I’ve done countless research about the best performing arts schools in the world what can I say, I’m a nerd ?), and this one is BY FAR superior to everything else. Even though I live in Sydney, I really hope I make it here. Because even though I’ve gone behind my parents back and scheduled interviews with many talent agencies such as Munchkins Talent and Starfish and Bubblegum Acting, (I got into Munchkins on the spot after the director interviewed me, and I got into Starfish) it’s still “not a stable career” and I should use my talent for science to become a doctor.
…Asian parents am I right ? I know y’all can relate.
So, I guess I just wanna put this review out there for future me.
Future me, if by all these obstacles and challenges you still make it Juilliard, pursue your dreams.
For everyone out there, all the kids my age (yes I’ve read all the reviews on this school), all the people out there with a dream, never stop because other people tell you no. Never stop because you doubt yourself.
Because you can do it.
Because you are amazing.
I hope I inspired some of you, to hopefully follow your dreams.
Hopefully, I’ll maybe post another review on this place when I apply here.
Don’t let ANYONE tell you what is best for you. Follow your dreams, and your gut, and the universe will work everything out.

Idk why I didn't get it.
I was about to go inside and rehearse the piece I was going to play. I had my pan flute ready to go and was about to play Let it Go with the AMAZING Elsa costume and wig that I got for my 7th birthday but , I immediately got interrupted and they kicked me out! I got so mad, that I played as loud as I could and they had me arrested for public disturbance. Ever since then, I've quit the pan flute and decided to learn the viola because my friend said it suited me.
I love Juilliard, although I'm only 12. I play the saxophone, and I hope I get into Juilliard Jazz so I can pursue my dream of playing the saxophone ?.
I once held a seminar here in 2009. At the conclusion of my presentation I was met with thunderous applause. Then I woke up in my bed in Chicago. What a dream. . .
I’ve been to Juilliard School couple times bringing one of my friends that has Parkinson. I always feel super honored not only about being inside of this prestigious place that is known as world leader in performing arts education, but also about watching my friend with Parkinson trying to dance with her group.
I want to Congratulate This school about hosting “dancing for Parkinson”. This workshop just challenges, elevates people self esteem, and confidence in an amazing way. Teachers are way creative. Once a teacher trying to guide them into dancing said: Can you dance like leaves?
My mind blowed away. Just this question made people think and use their brain to imagine. Honestly the result couldn’t be better and the group were all trying to dance as leaves. Including myself that was supposed just to be a spectador ?
Well done I would say not only for the dance, but for the smiles. Specially because people with Parkinson tend to be depressed due the lack of dopamine result of this disease. Think, smile, Laugh and dance. More than well done.
Seniors with special needs would for sure benefit of having exercises and activities that develop and maintain community. And it should be free for low income.
Companies should have the same attitude as this school and open space not only for exercises, but understanding about special needs even though some of it are temporary. That would be beautiful if we reach a point level Of empathy where people could be reallocated, or might activities customized
in a way they are able to do.
Just a pinch of humanity to make spaces more aware and businesses more inclusive. It would be one way to honor who came before us and contributed already to the society we are living in.

Just left from visiting the campus! Ugh this is definitely my school and I hope I'm accepted! Can't wait! I'm taking a year off and going to enjoy New York but looking forward to next fall :)
I attended the Pre-College program at Juilliard way back in 1985. It was an emotional experience to bring my kids back to see and hear the sights and sounds of this iconic location. At present, I can barely recognize the place as much renovation is being done. Also, so beautiful at the time of my visit to see the music hall draped in the Ukrainian Flag! It brought me to tears - now being an aged man. I remember sitting next to Midori in one of the youth performances. My lessons with Eugene Becker and Mrs. Delay. Juilliard is a world renowned school of music. Back in my day, and being a person of color, it was somewhat bitter sweet. However, the school has worked endlessly to support and promote the arts to a diverse crowd. This truly shows as I now see so many young and talented children of color representing our famous institution. I never thought I would see this in my lifetime. I always knew such talent existed, but to see my own school recognize and promote is another story. Juilliard is an institution that you must visit at least once in your life. The talent held in this location is world class artists that do what I consider is "God's Work" - that is, the promotion of artistry of mankind.
Funny how they handled the student protest and how entitled the schools response was. Read up about the incident regarding the workshop in wich students were asked to pretend they were slaves. I truly don't unterstand how things like this can happen in such a "esteemed" uni, especially in the 21st century...
I would love to maybe go here one-day if that's possible but I would only like to go to a college that has acting because I wanna be an actor when I grow up. But I got to figure out if "The Juilliard School" will have or has acting.
Amazing experience. It is a beautiful place. You can enter into some areas or halls of the school with pictures of great artists and dancers. The area in front of it is amazing, with seats where you can admire the view, rest and have great time with your friends, as nice pictures. It is worth visiting it if you like dance and know a little about the school. It is well-know and many times appears in hollywood movies. It is New York so I think it is best to get there by metro (subway), if you are by car, you have to find a park-in-lot and pay for it. Well located too, close to many other touristics sites, stations and restaurants.
I thought about stopping in here to show off my mad skills but decided it would discourage the students from their potential. A quick photo from the outside would have to do for now since I’m exceptionally busy practicing 16 hours a day as a self taught professional.
This is insane! Now I'm skeptical of this school because almost all of the reviews are from kids with absolutely no Julliard experience! I'm trying to see if I want to go to this college but I won't know if it's good or not if people just talk about how they dream to go there!
I’m only 12 and love to sing I want to go so bad I live singing and I want to better myself at dance this is such an amazing idea to have a school for the arts I love to paint and I’m good if I take time and I really hope I get in fingers crossed ??
I am only 12 but I love love love the creative arts ( mostly singing and writing). I have been writing since I was in 3rd grade and singing since I was little.

I'm giving this one star cause I've never been here buut, I really want to go here for college I'm in 6th grade and I love the performing arts, I want to go to a school like this and then go to Broadway. I know it might not happen. But if you believe your halfway there!
I'm 14 years old and it has always been my dream to become an actor. I've did plenty of research and The Juilliard School has rated no#1. I'm praying one day I'll be able to tour this magnificent School which so many beautiful people has walked thru those golden doors and graduated.. Dreams do come true..

I love music so much it's my dream to go to this amazing school , i heard of this school in High School Musical 3 & since then i've been wanting to go here . Juilliard is my dream school! I want to go to this school to study music, specifically piano. I'm 15 years old :) - The Juilliard School is amazing at what it does; there is nothing like it. Top best performing arts school in the world.

It attracts the most ambitious students from all over the world, trains them aggressively, and works had at connecting them to great positions after graduation. The Pre-College is extremely competitive and elitist. A terrific environment for dedicated specialists.
Great school! I'm studying at The Juilliard School and I like it very much. My major is jazz piano, and also I'm studying classical music and I have very good teachers.
