The Best Name a million times better then Anyone Else!!!!!!

The lanes are wider than the other bridges, that's what I like about RFK bridge.
Dec 05, 2025 -
It’s a 25 mins walk from Astoria side to Randall’s Island’ and you can enjoy the view of the River one side and the City on the other.
Dec 04, 2025 -
Bridge is convenient but the traffic can be diabolical, especially when the they have lane closures 4 times a week
Dec 02, 2025 -
Everytime clean and cops are on watch! Once my homie got broke down with his moped and they towed him away in few min !
Nov 19, 2025 -
Alot of construction.. now .. but easy .. fairly easy to access to manhattan from queens .. and manhattan back to queens with this bridge
Oct 23, 2025 -
I cross every day this bridge....in my route from Manhattan to Queens , is completely unsafe 1 .is completely dark all route 2 .apparently is for pedestrians and cycling but doesn't have enough space for both uses 3. Exist clamp installed in the edge really sharp, when you ride in bike and meet with other biker or pedestrian this clamps can cut you because is installed unprofessional never thinking in who else use this route. 4.in the Queens side exist 2 unsafe ramps with our any caution sign anybody new crossing this bridge can get accidents 5 . The worst thing 3 completely unsafe stairs completely hard for bikers seeing people cross in city bikes and this bikes are heavy must of the times l helped ladies to go up or down with this bikes ..... In conclusion poor design and unsafe definitely need to be fixed this route for easy transportation,,,DOT put city bikes everywhere affecting parking spots ,business etc supostobe for easy transportation but the majority of bikes routes is one mess .....end the day city bike is onde round negotiation for LIFT.

My mom had driven me across the bridge years ago and that the view from this bridge was wonderful because can see Amtrak/ freight on the hell gate bridge, Manhattan, and many others.
Jul 13, 2025 -
Coming from LaGuardia Airport, this bridge can sometimes be your fastest way into Manhattan or to the upper east side or the Bronx
Jul 11, 2025 -
The view from the top of this bridge is just beautiful ✍️ However, when walking over this bridge, it feels like walking over layers of tin.
Jul 05, 2025 -
Beautiful bridge. Triborough was much more descriptive than Robert F Kennedy! Bobby Sr was a good man but not necessary to change the name of the bridge !
Jun 09, 2025 -
This is one of the worst bridges in NYC for bikers and pedestrians. It's very narrow and has about 4 different sets of steps to cross throughout the span of the bridge, which means that if you have a heavy bike get ready for an unexpected workout. Also, it's so narrow that it becomes a very awkward situation when 2 people have to pass each other in a single file fashion. This bridge needs to be upgraded asap.

Hey MTA, please rename this bridge back to the "Triborough Bridge". I don't want any more reminders of RFK (father or son). The family is not worthy of being honored. Thank you!
Feb 17, 2025 -
The triborough bridge is like eight bridges that got in a fight, eventually collapsing from exhaustion on top of each other, limbs strewn across various islands and boroughs, and finally some city planner just shrugged it off, like, "It is what it is." And how does it have a 4.3 rating on Google? I'm trying to conjure an image of even one person who went over this bridge complex and thought, "WOW! That was so dope. It was like being trapped in a rat-king of decrepit roads for fifty minutes. And it only cost $10."
Oct 10, 2024 -
I like this bridge and the design of it. On the drive coming down from the north to NYC, this is one of the best bridges to cross. The ride is very smooth and you get a good view of the city.

Omggg the GREATEST WALK IN NYC. A SECRET EXPERIENCE. U haven't lived till u walk this bridge walkway. Its long and u can see the people playing in park from over 2000 feet in air. Omg its scary but exhilarating. I wish I cud walk the whole bridge with a GF or friend cus its so romantic and takes like 1 to 2 hours to walk from Randall's Island entrance to astoria queens. U haven't enjoyed nyc if u haven't walked this bridge. During the day it's beautiful especially in spring or summer. This is the secret spot of nyc. Hopefully tourist don't find out cus its such an amazing exp. It's free also to walk it. Feels like ur flying above earth . So much Goin on during walk. Hopefully someone reads this and enjoys the same walk that I took. Greatest place to exp nyc.

The walking experience is certainly interesting. Not nearly enough space, no guard rails on the highest part of the bridge, and there’s a large gap in the walking path that items could easily slip through. Other than that, though, the views are gorgeous, and it’s one of the only bridges where you can easily see 4 boroughs at once. Overall enjoyable, definitely better than the Manhattan Bridge.

Once upon a time, around 2013 a vibrant young adventurer who prided herself on having walked every single walkable bridge in New York City discovered that the spectacular triboro bridge was indeed walkable too! It took a few tries to figure out how exactly to access the bridge from her beloved Astoria because its entrance is right smack in the middle of a busy road and not exactly grand. But that’s exactly why she loved it. Its not as pretty as the Queensboro Bridge or as colorful as the Billyburg Bridge or as new as the K bridge. Its not as majestic as the Brooklyn Bridge nor as exciting as the vivacious Manhattan Bridge. And it certainly wasn’t the busiest bridge in the world like the GW. Oh no, not busy in the least- it took her from quaint cozy Astoria to even sleepier Randalls Island and it felt like a secret. Because many times she was the only one on the walkway and in a city of 9 million, solitude is a rare treat. Its the only bridge that doesn’t have a barrier over the water and that too felt precious and secretive. And ever since then she’d walk to the middle of bridge so she could look over at her beautiful home and understand that she could never truly know her city. And yet she continues to try…

I love this toll bridge. They had toll booths years ago but they removed all the booths now and it is a easy ride with less traffic. Triboro bridge connects Astoria Queens to the Bronx and the ride is not bad these days compare to when they had toll booths. This bridge has been good to me because it allowed me avoid driving from the Bronx through Manhattan and take the 59th street bridge to Queens with all that traffic.

another celebration of engineering that makes life easier for people. located in the right place providing a convenient transport connection across the river. it’s a pity that the not-satisfied city structures turned it into a place for collecting tribute from the population, and this tribute is growing every year. and people have no choice, and convenience has become a place for selecting finance from the population.

A shamefully inadequate Mosses era connector which successfully prohibits pedestrians from accessing one of NYC’s most stunning parks. Infuriating that this is the only connection between Queens and Randall’s Island Park. The bike path is shared with runners/walkers. It is thin and poorly maintained. (Lots of cracks in the pavement.) It is barely wide enough for 2 bikes to pass each other. Then you have these terribly steep stairs, 2 sets of 2 flights on the Queens side, 1 set of 2 flights on the Randall’s Island side - you will need to carry your bike up and down the stairs! The path has a short railing between you and the hundred foot drop to the water! Don’t look down if you’re scared of heights. (Scariest footpath in NYC in my opinion.) All that being said, if you are an experienced cyclist, do take this bridge and be careful. If you are inexperienced, consider going through Manhattan and over the 103rd street pedestrian bridge (thin green one). Good luck!

We crossed that bridge by car service from The Bronx to Manhattan and it’s a really good destination. The view around it was spectacular. It took us to the FDR drive coming home to Staten Island when I went to the Bronx Zoo.

Robert F. Kennedy Bridge is a vertical-lift bridge and a complex of bridges and elevated expressway viaducts in New York City. It was formerly known and still commonly referred to as the Triborough Bridge. It links up Queens, the Bronx, and Manhattan over East River.
Nov 09, 2021 -
The Robert F. Kennedy Bridge, formerly known and still commonly referred to as the Triborough Bridge, is a complex of bridges and elevated expressway viaducts. The bridges link the boroughs of Manhattan, Queens, and the Bronx. The viaducts cross Randalls and Wards Islands, which were previously two islands but are now joined by landfill. The Triborough Bridge, a toll bridge, carries Interstate 278 (I-278) and the unsigned highway New York State Route 900G. It connects with the FDR Drive and the Harlem River Drive in Manhattan, the Bruckner Expressway (I-278) and the Major Deegan Expressway (Interstate 87) in the Bronx, and the Grand Central Parkway (I-278) and Astoria Boulevard in Queens. The three primary bridges of the Triborough Bridge complex are: The vertical-lift bridge over Harlem River, the largest in the world, connecting Manhattan to Randalls Island The truss bridge over Bronx Kill, connecting Randalls Island to the Bronx The suspension bridge over Hell Gate (a strait of the East River), connecting Wards Island to Astoria in Queens These three bridges are connected by an elevated highway viaduct across Randalls and Wards Islands and 14 miles (23 km) of support roads. The viaduct includes a smaller span across Little Hell Gate's former site, which separated Randalls and Wards Islands. Also part of the complex is a grade-separated T-interchange on Randalls Island, which sorted out traffic in a way that ensured that drivers paid a toll at only one bank of tollbooths. The tollbooths have since been removed, and all tolls are collected electronically at the approaches to each bridge. The bridge complex was designed by chief engineer Othmar H. Ammann and architect Aymar Embury II and has been called "not a bridge so much as a traffic machine, the largest ever built." The American Society of Civil Engineers designated the Triborough Bridge Project as a National Historic Civil Engineering Landmark in 1986. The bridge is owned and operated by MTA Bridges and Tunnels (formerly the Triborough Bridge and Tunnel Authority, or TBTA), a Metropolitan Transportation Authority division.

Cyclists beware this is probably the worst East River Crossing for us.. There are multiple sets of stairs (yes, stairs) on this bridge and the path is incredibly narrow. Oddly enough the center of the span has no fence to prevent jumpers or fumbles over the edge so do be extra careful if you ride fast. The Randall's Island side approach gets better with a wider path and gentle slope.

I love walking across the Robert F Kennedy/ Triborough bridge while crossing from Manhattan to Astoria. It has the most amazing views and the wind in your face feels phenomenal. I would urge people to walk from Manhattan 103rd street to Astoria while crossing through Randall's island using this bridge. Love it. This is undoubtedly my favorite bridge because the walking Lanes are mostly deserted, making it easier to enjoy the scenery.

Amazing experience crossing bridge. Went to the Vegandale Food & Drink Festival and it was a great time. The walk across the bridge was truly stunning. I like that not many people were seen on the bridge. Some bikers, some runners but you can still take your time and enjoy the view.

Triboro was a better name, but the views are amazing and the walking adventure worthwhile.
