This review is if you're not a big pool player but interested. We went with another couple who was looking for something to do and wound up here. They couldn't have been more welcoming. We were probably louder than the serious players and the staff and other players were great. We got there early and their kitchen wasn't open just yet and they were cool with us ordering food. Just a fun place with really solid people. We'll be back to have another really fun afternoon/evening.

Great staff, very organized food is ok. No matter the age, bring and show your ID or they won’t let you in.

Always a good time here. Plenty of tables and rates aren't too bad. Also open later than most pool halls in the city.

Middle of the road poolhall actually filled up with league players in a basement. I can't say much positive or negative since I am not a pool player.

Rude, racially discriminatory, horrible customer service, made derogatory and racial remarks at me for no reason. I minded my own business and kept to myself the whole time and since the moment I entered they targeted me. Do not come here, it’s a disgrace that these kind of places still exist.

I had a disappointing experience. I asked the front desk to charge my Anker portable charger, and they plugged it in. While settling the bill with my group, I forgot to grab it. I called the next day, and they claimed they didn’t have it. Frustrating, since I know exactly where I left it.

Very chill spot, sometimes quiet sometimes live with many people. Great spot for after work unwinding. Prices are fair and the staff is wonderful.

Great bar/poolhall/ restaurant awesome spot. Great service from the servers and management was great too. The hospitality here is awesome. The tables and carbon fiber house cues were great quality....check this spot out

Be aware of this place! They charge 20% gratuity on top of booking the place. So a two hour booking is $400, comes out to $531!!!! Then, if you drink or eat, they charge another 20% on top of that! Questions about what the first 20% were for (if not for service) remained unanswered. And then, they charge another 4% each for CC use. So you end up with 48% gratuity!!! Insane! We used our physical card, gave it to the waiter—and a few days later we had a fraud charge of $1369 on it. I’m not saying it was them, but this place was the only place we used a physical card for a long time.

Clean environment, well spaced out tables and noce ambiance. Great price for the location. Some cues were broken but you can find decent ones

Pool tables are nice. It is spacious. It is pricey and poor quality food though. My friend ordered the chicken sliders and the tiny amount of chicken on them was a joke. They should have been labeled veggie sliders.

Place was decent, legit. The drinks were good. I got the 50/50 margarita shown in the picture. It was crowded ish. All tables are very close to each other as you can see, you’re bound to bump with the other table … music was decent but definitely out of date. Our server was cool and chill. We got our first and second drink under 15min. Overall it was alright for my first time going to a billiard with friends. Only con is that in the beginning I saw that the servers weren’t on the same page, 3 had to ask our friend if they had their card for the tab and they did… so yeah they are a little unorganized and just need to get it together and communicate within themselves.

Absolutely loved the atmosphere and vibe of this upscale, underground pool hall. Although it was full, Society never felt too crowded, just a cozy atmosphere with table-side bar service and a DJ spinning late into the night. I’ll definitely be back to this gem!

Yummy food guac was a bit salty. The Cuban pulled pork was good. Def recommend this place. Going to the bathroom is mad dark :(

It’s a good bar if you want to just chill with friends, play pool, have some drinks and watch sports. The music selection could be better here.

Great atmosphere. Plenty pool tables. Open till very late. The food is great and cocktails were amazing. At least my Moscow Mule was. Service is good. A little expensive, but definitely good to go with a group of friends. The music is great!

Great place with lots of pool table, darts, ping pong tables and even beer pong tables! The staff is very friendly, beers are pretty cheap and it's not too crowdy. Great place to hang out between late afternoon and dinner or after dinner with hour friends

The wait was too long, but it is a nice place. Make sure to ask continuously whether it is your turn. Otherwise you might wait for a spot for over one hour on week days…

Great location. Staffs are amazing. Good selections of beer and liquors. Reasonably priced. Sunday is the restaurant industries night. So free games and 40% off for drinks.

Had a great time, the place is well air conditioned so it really saved us from the 95° Weather. There's a good array of options in the menu, I had milk and cookies out of curiosity and it was pretty good. I definitely see myself going back in the future.

My husband and I love this place! We come here a few times a year for date night. It's a bit pricey but it's worth it to play on a nice table versus playing pool on a run-down table that you would find at a dive bar. Everyone is friendly and helpful to make sure you have a wonderful experience! We will definitely continue to come here for date nights.

Clean, friendly, and enjoyable! Music was a bit retro and wait time was around 40 mins on a Thursday night. Overall recommended spot, especially since I eat Madison Kayser post pool!

I stumbled onto Society Billiards + Bar when Amsterdam Billiards was packed one night. Not wanting to wait over an hour for a table to open, they recommended Society Billiards. Located not far from Union Sq, Society Billiards + Bar is an underground pool and bar lounge. They also offer a ping pong table towards the back, there’s also an area for shooting darts, and beer pong. The atmosphere is low light, laid back, extremely chill. Music playlist is a good mix of old and new, nothing overly vulgar. Noise level is perfect, and not overbearing so we can actually hear each other in conversation. They keep the pool table and sticks in great condition. They also offer a light bites along with a good selection of spirits. In need of a mellow night out- Society Billiards should be on your list. It’s an easy place to get to, about a three minute walk from Union Sq subway station. It makes for a great date spot, happy hour go to, or hang out. Good music, food, beer, a friendly staff, and doorman. You cannot go wrong with this place. The prices are reasonable-ish, it’s not crazy insane as some other pool halls. They also have happy hour specials. Most of all it is not pretentious. Happy Shooting!
