It’s ok, I was looking for books which they barely have.. so if you are in the search for it don’t come to this target

This is a hidden gem that not many people know about, because it is nestled in an area that not many people shop at. If you cannot find an item at other targets in Manhattan, 9 times out of 10 you will find it in this store because not many people shop there. It is an easy store to shop in because it is usually empty and there are almost no lines to wait on. I have been there 3 times and all three times the store was empty and I was able get what none of the other stores, in the surrounding area, had. Valentine's Day is coming and they have an incredible collection of gifts. (See a few of the photos that I took today, 1/27/26.) If you're headed to Target, this is the store to visit.

Emily’s apathetic and lax leadership has allowed a toxic culture to fester in this store. Many employees embody the worst stereotypes of rude New Yorkers—abrasive, dismissive, and utterly devoid of basic manners (courtesy). As a neighborhood resident, I find it disgraceful that this store, which should be a local convenience, has instead become a source of frustration and resentment. On top of the hostility, they endanger customer health by leaving dairy products unrefrigerated for at least 45 minutes. +++++++++++++++++++++ September 2025 price match was eliminated and prices immediately increased significantly—which I find to be price gauging. If I am paying higher prices than the neighborhood average, I want to at least receive good customer service and in-stock items for that premium.

Terrible experience with customer service. Got shouted at by Gloria literally for asking if they take cash. Don’t come here They also don’t have ANYTHING. If you’re coming here for a specific item, they ain’t gonna have it. I only come here for groceries because it’s 3 blocks away and Food Emporium is exorbitantly expensive.

Great place, many options. Staff are great and friendly. Very clean; always good deals with the Target Circle free membership.

I’ve been to this Target countless times and never did I ever think I’d be leaving a negative review. I love the Hells Kitchen location for its convenience, and usually friendly staff. Today the cashier at checkout (I think her name is Gloria) completely caught me off guard by how RUDE and CONDESCENDING she was!!! I’ve never been yelled at by any employee in my life, and been BERATE by anyone in public. . She was visibly upset with me because I stepped up to her register without being called (which I apologize for) she continued to yell, and tell me she wouldn’t assist me. She continued to yell as she send me to the next register. As the other cashier was assisting me she kept saying snarky remarks towards. The register who did assist me was completely apologetic for her coworkers behavior. I sincerely regret not asking for supervisor. Her behavior towards customers is unacceptable. This isn’t the first time I see her act rude and unprofessional but I guess today was my lucky day to be mistreated by her.

I had such a great experience at Target recently thanks to Italiah. I was having one of those days where nothing was going right. I was tired, distracted, and just wanted to grab a few things quickly and go home. Of course, I ended up picking the wrong size shirt without realizing it until I got to checkout. That’s when Italiah stepped in. She noticed right away and offered to help me find the correct size. Before I could even finish explaining, she ran to grab the right one and came back with exactly what I needed. She did it all with such a friendly attitude that it instantly made my day a little brighter. To top it off, I’m not the most tech-savvy person and was struggling a bit at the self-checkout. Instead of making me feel rushed or embarrassed, Italiah patiently walked me through the process, showing me how the new system works and even helping me scan everything correctly. Her kindness, patience, and attention to detail turned what could’ve been another stressful errand into a genuinely positive experience. Target is lucky to have someone like Italiah. I can tell she goes above and beyond out the kindness of her heart.

Khine? Khine? Dark skin and small girl. She is very very horribly rude!!! Today I went to this store at about 9pm in Oct 4th. i directly went down to see a milk section and then detergent section. But the cabinets were locked and before I hit the bell to call a staff, I was looking inside the cabinets to figure out which detergent I wanted to buy so I don’t need to ask to open all the cabinets. While I was looking, one staff came behind me. Maybe to stock up items or I didn’t know. I asked her to open the door. I said “ can you open this? “ I was NOT rude at all. Her face was ok first time and then when I asked her to open the next cabinet, she looked like little annoyed. Ok! I didn’t care! Maybe I misunderstood. BUT… when I tried to smell and tried to choose to buy one. She said “ excuse me” 2times!!! I said I need to buy a detergent but she said “ I need to stock” and also said “you follow me!!!” I never followed her! She came behind me and then I just asked her to open the cabinets. She asked me to move away for her to stock up the items. Why didn’t she wait until I picked up one? I told her your customer service is not good! And then she said “you always follow me” and then ran away. ( I don’t usually go to this store. The last time I went to this store was I guess 3months ago.) I think She does NOT need to be nice but AT LEAST she should NOT be rude even if she is exhausted!!! She acted like kicking a customer out!! To shop, she wants me to avoid her in the store. Other staffs who I talked to and asked were nice. This kind of staff badly affects the reputation of the store! I hope she would be my client or customer and I will make her feel the same. I don’t want to go to this location anymore. I don’t want to give even one star! Minus star!

Today I was completely blown away. I visit the Hell’s Kitchen location frequently and today I needed assistance. The manager in charge was more than willing to help me. In the midst of her doing so a young lady that works there came up to the manager helping me and interrupted us so rudely and aggressively. The manager explained that she was also willing to support her employee in a moment because she was almost done helping me on which I really appreciated because I was in a rush. That team member was so disrespectful and in all my years of living in New York City I have never seen an employee disrespect management. Where is the morals and values of this company to allow rude and arrogant individuals to work under leadership? This isn’t my first time seeing her in the store and when I do it she seems to always seem like she’s disinterested to help. Is this what I pay for ?

Great spot to have in the area for its size and range of products from groceries to toys to home goods to beauty and bath. They’re open until 11 every night, I find the staff to be very nice and Target prices beat a lot of the local stores so for me it’s a blessing to have close by.
Jul 22, 2025 -
It’s too bad 0 stars isn’t a thing. I spent 30-45 minutes in here looking for just THREE items. And only left with 2 since the employees don’t want to help opening any of the UNLIMITED doors that protect 5$ items. I asked three people and they all said they’ll get someone for me and after 10 minutes of waiting i started using the sensor to call someone over. Yet again no help. After that i decided to leave WOTHOUT what i even came for because the employees are to busy flirting with eachother.

Really interesting decision to lock everything up, remove all buzzers and not have much staff on the floor. Is this a store or a museum? The lack of respect for customers and their time is ridiculous. This place is poorly managed and keeps getting worse every single time I come in

Last night, around 9 PM, I went to Target. I was looking for an item but couldn’t find it. I asked Louis, the Target Manager, very politely: “Hi, how are you? I’m looking for this item, but I can’t find it. Could you please help me?” He looked me up and down and then said, “Go over there.” I told him, “I’ve already been there.” He responded, “Go again, open your eyes and look one by one.” I explained that there were a lot of boxes, but I didn’t want to argue, so I went back and looked again. Unfortunately, I still couldn’t find it, so I went back to Louis and said, “Please help me; I’m a customer, and you’re supposed to help people.” He replied, “You’re not a customer, you’re just a delivery guy. Why should I help you? Go, go, go,” while waving his hand at me as though I were a dog. I asked, “Can I speak with your manager, please?” He laughed at me and said, “My name is Louis, I’m the Target Manager. Who are you? You’re just a delivery guy.” He and a short Spanish man with glasses laughed at me. Louis said I don't understand what do you said, bla.. blaa... blaaa... I understand my English not good, different with him. Because his born here. My question is: yes, I’m a delivery guy, but does that mean I don’t deserve respect? I felt disrespected and experienced what seemed to be racism. Louis then told me, “If you keep talking to me, I, as a Target Manager, can report you, and you won’t be able to work as a delivery guy anymore.” It felt like Louis was abusing his power as a Target Manager. I hope Target can improve its customer service.

Complete trash of a target. Never any stock and the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. Was there today to get laundry detergent. Rang the help bell 10 times, stood there waiting for 15 minutes. Finally found an employee, asked “Excuse me” twice, he looked at me with his AirPods in and proceeded to ignore me and walked away so I went and tapped him on the shoulder in case he didn’t hear me and he SCREAMED at me to never ever touch him again. Walked away, still never got laundry pods. Shut this place down.

Love that there’s a decently stocked Target in the neighborhood but it feels really chaotic and unnecessarily crammed. The store management should consider the logic of the layout — why is the order pick up for people who are optimizing not standing in a long line in the same line as people looking for assisted check out with a bunch of items? Result: waiting behind chatty people with too many items which defeats the whole order pick up flow.

This should be called target for the dogs! It’s nice to allow a SERVICE dog into the store. Unfortunately each time I go inside that is not the case. Many dogs that are not trained in and out by the food up against produce it’s unsanitary. I watched a dog urinate infront of the shampoo as the owner just said “oops” Another time two dogs about to go at it. The last time I went in I counted 8 dogs so that was enough for me I will not be going back to that store. The no pets allowed sign unless a service animal means nothing! No one is enforcing the rules.

Needed to pick up 2 pairs of AirPods for a trip and they refuse to sell it to me. They can only sell 1 per person. Luckily my sister was in the car and we switched so we can purchase the second one. The service was slow, the cashier was not helpful and ignored nor acknowledge the customers, the people in front of me had left because of my be lack of service. Target really needs to hire better employees because shelling out this much money and being not serviced properly is a fail.

I was recently in this store and had 2 items to return. I went to register 1 and had Gloria immediately start barking at me that the receipt numbers were faded. I tried to say it was fine if I couldn't return as they were not expensive items, but sadly I only got oit a few words before she cut me off. She continued her loud, barky babble. Finally near the end, I asked what her name was because she did not have on a name tag. She told me and then put it on. Then she immediately said things like, "I'm here to help everyone" and "I'm always helpful" sorry...too late. Spoke to the manager who was very kind & offered me a gift card, I told him thank you, but declined telling him he could give it to Gloria & let her know to relax a little. Store is nice, but it's small so doesn't have everything you may need.

Target store overprices items compared to their online website. Beware Target bans and locks out frequent online shoppers. Target will "stand firm" on their decision & never let you shop online again. At best maybe 2 cashiers even if line is long. Isles of locked items doesn't stop theft when I frequently see shoppers stuff items in luggage & walk out even though a guard stands by the door.
Nov 18, 2023 -
Stopped in to get a few things. We needed one item that was locked and quickly found a helpful sales associate to unlock the door. Very organized and a decent selection considering it seems smaller than a traditional Target.

Great location, great spot, a welcome addition to the neighborhood. During the soft opening you can stop by and see this new Target location. Easy access from public transportation. Easy to walk. Parking not available.
Dec 14, 2022 -
HORRIBLE!!!empty shelves nothing is stocked and the aisles are filled with stocking carts that aren’t being unloaded often blocking entire walk ways. (See photos) the first floor is taken up almost entirely by womens clothing which is a huge waste of space in such a small format store. Also! All the hygienic basics toothpaste body wash ect are locked up in a vault like case as if it’s valuable electronics with no staff around to help open them. I finally found one person to try and let me into a case to buy toothpaste and they didn’t have a key and never helped me! I ended up going to the grocery store instead. Save your time and go to Walgreens or rite aid. This target is a joke and a poor representation of the company. It needs changed ASAP.

Great location. 2 floors, the top floor seemed to be well organized and clean but the bottom floor was messy.
Mar 07, 2022 -
This particular location as conveniently located in Hell's Kitchen as it is not that well stocked as other Targets. There needs to be improvement.
Jan 10, 2022 -
Empty shelves! Always. Whoever is in charge of logistics needs to be fired. They need to learn from Whole Foods and Trader Joe’s on how to keep up on inventory. I stoppped coming here because I continually leave empty handed. No milk no eggs no flour no cereal no ibuprofen ect ect HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT
Jan 03, 2022 -
The store is conveniently located but all of the shelves are half empty. They have very little stock of things you actually need. Don’t go to this location if you can avoid it because every aisle has empty shelves.

I have to say Gloria is exceptional at the check out , she really cares about customers savings and running a smooth operation, she should get a promotion for her passion with customer service and Marie, who was also a wonderful employee . They have great prices for what you need . The selection however is limited . They do have some great small value items for the home, always worth a trip to see their weekly sales as well. What I like about the store the most is that it’s maintained very well, and always clean. Even the bathroom. The employees are nice as well.

Target is usually a great place to shop, but this one..... We stopped in for some supplies and came across "the great underwear and sock shortage of 2021". Who knew?
May 29, 2021 -
Very clean and well lit store. They have a grocery section downstairs, and a very small pet selection. I'm glad that they opened up in my neighborhood. I'll be back soon!
