What clients say about Pier 25 at Hudson River Park in New York (NY)
-
The blue seats at the end of the pier seemed almost too good to be true—they were curved, reclined, stylish, and appeared quite ergonomic. However, a shocking revelation came to me upon sitting down. No lumbar support. Not only that, the seat was slippery such that one’s rear would slide down about 8 inches, removing support all the way through the mid spine. After about 3 minutes of sitting in the chair typing this review, I could feel my spinal erectors crying in agony. I started to wonder how I would make it back home. To anyone considering visiting this pier, please avoid the seats. Even better, just skip the whole pier to spare yourself the disappointment and pain I felt.

Pier 25 in Hudson River Park stands out as one of Lower Manhattan’s most vibrant and family-friendly waterfront destinations. Stretching nearly 1,000 feet into the Hudson River, it offers sweeping skyline views of both Manhattan and New Jersey that make it a perfect backdrop for leisure and recreation. The pier’s thoughtfully designed amenities include an 18-hole mini-golf course, sand volleyball courts, a turf field, and one of the city’s most celebrated children’s playgrounds. Visitors consistently praise the area’s clean, well-maintained atmosphere and the balance between activity and relaxation it provides. Whether you’re meeting friends for a casual afternoon or bringing children for outdoor play, Pier 25 delivers a versatile experience that feels refreshingly open within the dense cityscape. The waterfront breeze and gentle hum of boats nearby add to its laid-back charm. On weekends, however, the mini-golf course and playground can become quite crowded, so arriving earlier in the day ensures a more relaxed visit. The pier’s design also encourages unhurried walks and sunset viewing, making it equally appealing for couples or solo visitors.

Pier 25 is a great spot for families — quiet, clean, and with a fun play area for kids. It’s a lovely place to relax while little ones stay entertained.

What an enjoyable place to take it in. Watched people relax looking at the boats on the Hudson River and people playing beach volleyball. Such a great spot.

The mini golf was so much fun! Can be busy at times but mini golf is pretty straightforward. $13 per adult (they charge a credit card fee) Plenty of snacks and souvenirs to enhance the experience. Beautiful park altogether with fun for all ages.

Great views of the WTC and across the Hudson, cool spot for an evening walk.

Beautiful view. Perfect to visit when hudson river brings in ice sheets at very low temperature. It has a small eatery. Very few places to sit. Great tracks for jogging and walking. Restroom nearby. To have a meal or coffee, be willing to walk for about 10 minutes.

Went at night, and holy smokes it was beautiful, views of all the buildings (freedom tower, empire state building, central park tower…), you can even see the statue of liberty. It was such a good vibe on the end of the pier, totally recommend taking the walk down! There are benches and chairs to sit on and a railing to lean over the pier with.

After lots of walking in the hot city streets it was lovely to be by the water in this beautiful park. All the piers are fantastic with loads to do. There's mini golf, basketball, play areas, trails, food and a carnival atmosphere. We watched the sunset and it was stunning. Vibrant fun place. Perfect for families.

It’s beyond imagination how this place was transformed. Dog park, picnic area, sports area, beautiful sunset view.. whether you visit the city for a day of live in the city, this Pier is a beautiful place to spend time with friends and family.

Had a fantastic solo visit yesterday. Wanted to get in some cardio and sightseeing. Trust me! This pier needs to be on your bucket list of NYC locations to visit. The view is simply gorgeous. Tribeca has always been one of my favorite areas to come visit during the summer. As a Borough of Manhattan College Alumni graduate; I have spent many of spring & summer mornings gazing out into the sky and watching the cruise lines + yachts. There are restaurants available on the pier, as well as many within the area. There is a Whole Foods very close by if you want to grab some treats, and beverages to keep you hydrated before heading over to the pier. You can bring a small blanket if you like to lay out in the grass or sit in one of the many designated areas filled with benches to enjoy the scenery. This pier is absolutely kid friendly! In fact many of the summer programs within NYC use areas throughout the pier to engage children in outdoor learning activities. This is pier is baby friendly as well; and depending on the time & day- you will see activities with parents and small children engaging in “learning through play” and other bonding resources for families. The area is very safe and the pier also has restrooms incase you’re worried about that. There is minor construction taking place as they expand the pier; however it won’t interfere with. Whenever I go to this area I typically spend my entire day because it’s so relaxing and rejuvenating. You will see all walks of life; from physical fitness, skateboarding, volleyball, miniature golf, sunbathing, and much more. Lots of space to run, and explore. To reach this pier you can take the 1,2,3 trains to chambers street and then walk. There is also other means of transportation to reach the pier such as port authority and it’s directly off the west side highway.

Perfect place for hangout and sight seeing! There is a mini golf place and also the location is close to walking places to eat and shop!

Cheap and amazing experience. Personally, I was expecting something more exciting with the golf courses but they were nice anyway

A small, but beautiful park. I truly love this park and despite being in an incredible part of town it doesn't seem to get crazy busy (for NY standards). You can nearly always find a bench of place to sit and the views of the water and the boats are just lovely.

What a very cool park to visit. Our expectations were low as we came here, just thought it was a small area for kids and what not. Boy was I wrong. This pier includes, a playground, splashpad, sand box, mini golf, park area with benches to relax and watch the water with cover from trees, lawn bowling, beach vollyball and a nice boardwalk to walk the pier. There are a couple restaurants off of the pier on some boats as well if thats what you're looking for. It was a very lively area when we visited on a Saturday night. Big lineup for mini golf on the hot July night. Very cool area though, would recommend to visit when the sun is setting on a nice summer evening. 5/5. Follow me for more reviews and travel tips.

Beautiful surroundings and abundant activies to to such as mini golf, beach volleyball, going to a playground, or taking a walk.

Right place to rest if you are walking. To see the view and the friendly birds and squirrels around you. Highly recommended

Interesting idea to add a pier with activities that are otherwise difficult to find in New York. Has a skateboard park, beach volleyball, and a rather tame mini-golf (think hills and rocks rather than windmills). The playground is good for children training to be mountaineers - lots of climbing equipment (with a few swings). There is also a thin field that feels kind of like a filler or a mistake - too thin for sports, and the fake grass isn’t really comfortable for relaxing. Of course, a more natural area is only a short walk away at Rockefeller Park, so not a great loss.

One of my favorite places in New York City. Pier 25 at Hudson River Park has a lot to offer. It is extremely clean and spacious they have bathrooms 24 seven. It’s a great place to go jogging or exercise. They have things like mini golf and volleyball available seasonally when the weather is nice and they have a skate park there. They sell really good lemonade and snacks as well. Many people walk their dogs here , In fact there is a really great dog park. It’s also just a nice place to sit on a bench and enjoy lunch or contemplate. Really beautiful views, even though there are a lot of people who come here it always feels spacious and not too crowded. There is also a children’s park with swings and all that so it’s very family oriented as well. There are a lot of little art sculptures if you really look around and pay attention it is extremely interesting, the grass and landscaping are very well-kept. I recommend this place it’s wonderful.

Omggg this place is pure heaven. I went for the first time with my children and it was so relaxing. Kids enjoyed themselves and I enjoyed all the beautiful senary and relaxing time. I simply love it. Will definitely be going back. The sunset was by far the greatest moment 😍😍

Amazing playground, splashpad, mini golf for families. Also a beautiful sand volleyball court and grounds to throw a football.
Jun 23, 2019 -
Beautiful, well kept park in a great location. Playground and spray showers are among the best in the city. Mini golf is nice but gets backed up when crowded (it's popular on nice days). Turf field and sand volleyball are really nice activity areas for a park in Manhattan.

As a HUGE fan of Blue Bloods, and specifically Jamie & Eddie, it was fun to head to the mini golf course where the proposal happened (even if we never saw the actual proposal on screen, and only heard about it when they returned). Beautiful views!
Nov 19, 2018 -
Great price for mini-golf in Manhattan with the entire NYC and NJ skyline view. The course was small but enjoyable none the less. Even though it was crowded (I went on a weekend), I did not wait too long at any hole for others to finish.

Fantastic place to spend the day outdoors. It's clean with an array of things to do from Skateboarding, Beach Volleyball, Mini Golf, to lots of children's outdoor areas (water park, sand box area, rock climbing,) and free fishing on selected days! We caught an American Eel on our 1st try. There's a restaurant on Pier 25 (haven't tried it yet). We spent an amazing day in the city with an out of the city feel!

The mini golf is so cool, the view is spectacular. There's a nice park for kids as well as sand volleyball. Overall a nice place to take kids or a laid back date.
Jun 22, 2018 -
It is in a great spot and has a lot of free stuff to offer. There are many beach volleyball courts and a long turf area. At the end of the Pier there are stairs and chairs that you can relax on and watch the boats go by or watch the sun set over Jersey City. If you are willing to spend money you could play mini golf or go on a ship called The Grand Banks and get some oysters and cocktails. It feels peaceful on the Pier and there are views of the statue of liberty and the freedom tower.
