This place had the most amazing customer service I've ever encountered. They stayed open late and were very cool about it, despite me being a first time customer. They explained why I needed something that was pricier than I'd expected in a clear way. Then, they gave me a discount. Would definitely recommend them, in whatever incarnation is in their future
Recently had a break repaired at the shop. Put $100 down payment for a tune up (at the time they mentioned it would be wiped down after) and paid $150 additional for the break repair.
After picking up my bike the break was fixed well but literally nothing else on the bike appears to be touched/tuned up and wasn’t even wiped.
In this place I had a very unpleasant experience, the truth is I went with my partner, we were looking for a bicycle spare part and we had already bought an item in another store and we asked him for a spare part, it seemed very expensive to me and I left and this man came out of the store to yell at me and take the object that I bought in another store, he was practically trying to tell me that I had stolen it from his store and he struggled with me and I told him what was wrong, I had the receipt and he didn't listen to me until another customer service came out and I told him what's wrong with you, I have the receipt and they left me alone, it was very embarrassing, the truth is I hope no one else has a similar experience. I am going to post a photograph of the guy and he was a very violent person
I just remember one time i came here to borrow a bike pump and they pointed at this old pump by the door. The valve holder was busted, it couldn't lock onto the Presta valve. So I asked one of the guys to another bike pump. He came to me and said "Do you even know how to do this?" Pointed to my valve extender, and asked "What is even that, that's not presta?"
That's the moment i realize, this guy doesn't know jack about bikes. They still get 3 stars, because most of the other folks were pleasant (especially the mechanics), but i couldn't get over that one guy, makes me a little concerned.
Anyways, I bought a bike pump after that so i don't have to deal with some noob questioning me haha.
Very friendly and knowledge staff. Reasonable prices for repairs. They seem to have a nice selection of bikes, parts and accessories, but since I was not shopping for such, I did not notice much more.
These guys are the best. Nice, super helpful, very knowledgable, always a pleasure to deal with. At other shops, if you're not obviously a bike racer, 100-mile hardcore trek kind of person, you're greeted with disdain, but never here.
Excellent selection of bicycles and biking accessories. I have purchased 2 bicycles from Echelon over the years. What stands out to me is Echelon's service -- quick, far more than competent, truly the best I've experienced in NYC cycle shops. Always a pleasure.

bought 3 bikes from echelon. Very nice staff and service when purchasing a bike, but a completely different story when servicing your bike for repair. You come in with one issue and leave with a completely different issue. Repair is sloppy at best from this shop and they don't seem to give a crap. They'll accuse you of having had a particular issue that they created beforehand. I've had a problem with a chain on a new bike purchased here and walked out after repair only to have the chain fall apart. These guys suck!
Shipped a road bicycle and the experience was seamless, great communication. The buyer of the bike was also very pleased with the packing. Thank you to the entire team! Would definitely return in the future, and recommend your services to others.
I rented my bike for Bike the Boro this year from Echelon and the service was FANTASTIC! From my initial email exchange to the final drop off, everyone was prompt, friendly, and competent. Shout-out to Aaron for adding and removing my pedals. I will definitely be using Echelon again when I’m back!
Very highly recommend this store for a rental bike experience—their customer service was excellent. My friend and I both rented bikes for the 5 boro bike tour. The bikes were in perfect condition, and the staff obviously did their utmost for us to have a good experience (including installing then uninstalling our own pedals and saddle for the ride). Shoutout to Aaron, who did an amazing job for us, and was incredibly friendly and efficient. We will be back!
I bought an e-bike here and the process was smooth, everyone was nice and transparent. A few months later I ran into an issue with the bike and took it in and they absolutely took care of me - contacting the manufacturer, getting a replacement part promptly and fixing the bike quickly. They were very responsive and actively reaching out to me about my bike. Can’t say enough good things about this shop and the people that work there. Thanks
I would give this place zero stars if i could, but unfortunately that's not an option. we purchased 2 bikes from Wing and per their instructions shipped it to Echelon cycles for assembly. the bikes were received by the shop in early August per Fedex tracking. however, when we called the shop, they told us only one bike was received. so we called wing, who insisted that the bikes were shipped together. call after call to the shop over the next 3 weeks to ask them to please look into it seems to have fallen into a black hole. until finally one person from the shop let it slip that both bikes were received but they had sold one and chose not to tell us. they blamed everything on Wing and never took any responsibility for selling a bike that WAS NOT THEIRS TO SELL! so, finally, we received both bikes purchased on labor day weekend. we voiced our displeasure of having waited for so long, and no one in the shop accepted any fault, insisting that we are NOT their customers, and they had NO OBLIGATIONS to us. but magnanimously, to show us a gesture of good faith, instead of just "hey, we're sorry we sold your first bike by mistake and made you wait a month for assembly" - we were told it wasn't their fault, but they will generously give us 25% off if we buy anything in the shop that day only. *insert eyeroll*
fast forward to 2 months later, and having ridden the bike, we find out one of them is experiencing an issue with the throttle (which they installed) and throwing an error. so, figuring since they put it together they might be able to help out with what the issue was. again, browbeating it to us that this was "not their problem" as we were not their customer, and therefore they had zero obligation to help us. the only way, was for us to purchase a part from Wing, wait for them to ship it, and then they will put us on the schedule to install. but troubleshooting was not part of their job. Incidentally, it was error 21 - which according to the Wing website, is "current abnormality". a search on google says to check the motor cable. this is possibly a safety issue, and they wouldn't help. let that sink in for a bit.
here i thought as a bike shop, they could help. so i guess if you were spending money to buy the bike at full price from their shop, they'll consider to help you. but if you didn't get it there, don't bother as they have told us, they have no obligations to help us with a bike that was not purchased from them.
there are plenty of bike shops around, do yourself a favor, find someone else to give your hard earned dollars to.

This is my go-to bike shop. I had my first bike built here. They do a variety of bike maintenance, services, and fixes. Their customer service is the best. Sean helped me with my hubs when they broke, and built my recent wheels. He goes over, and beyond. They are super knowledgeable, and will figure anything bike related for you!
Just picked up a new high end racing bike from Echelon Cycles. Gino and Curtis were awesome every step of the way. I would recommend Echelon Cycles to anyone. It was a great experience.
Fantastic store run by avid cyclists. The team and owner are amazing, knowledgeable about their craft and reasonably priced. They also have some of the best bike mechanics around. The new location is spacious and easily accessible. Highly recommend Echelon for your bike needs.
What a great shop, Chris and Curtis were amazing! I went in today to ask whether my vintage bike could be used with a bike trainer. Chris helped me out and let me know that, in a nutshell, my bike is too old for modern day trainers, but he was super helpful! He explained exactly why it wouldn't work, gave me some options in terms of other things I might be able to try and was overall amazing. Curtis also went above and beyond and got on the phone with a rep from a bike company and found out I could possibly use my bike if I put a little work into with some upgrades. I don't tend to write reviews very often, but both of these guys were super friendly and helpful. I know where to go from now on for any of my bike needs!
Excellent shop with great selection. My size frame was out of stock and they special ordered my bike for a very reasonable shipping price. It arrived and was assembled within a couple of days of ordering. Everyone here has been very helpful, knowledgeable, and patient, I’ll definitely be coming back!
Mr. Gino is very enthusiastic and helpful. He guided me through my purchase well, and the bike I selected is nice and comfortable. I think echelon offers decent services. However, my bike's rear derailleur hanger broke after I had purchased it for only 22 hours. It's incredibly annoying, and the quality of the hanger is conspicuously poor. I cannot get an immediate fix for the bike in the store, which makes me somewhat awkward. I look forward to seeing my bicycle repaired, and I hope the store and the manufacturer of my bike can be more effective in this case.
Fantastic experience from this shop! Had multiple points of customer service contact with them throughout the week and they were super helpful at every stage.
I couldn’t find any shops that were carrying hard shell travel cases. I called echelon and they were super helpful with locating what they had in stock, and also asking if I’d it to be set aside for me to come for it another day.
Then I came into shop a few days later, super helpful with getting me the case and letting me check it out. Helped figure out if it was what I needed and if it would fit my bike. I believed I was helped by a new employee named Adam, I may be wrong, it was his first day. They trained him excellently though, because he was super knowledgeable about everything in stock and answering any additional questions I had about other parts I was looking for. Chatted with a few other employees casually and they also were super knowledgeable about all things bike, but also just extremely friendly. Really had that community bike shop feel.
Lastly spoke with Curtis, one of the managers, about item pricing and he was super reasonable and respectful as well.
Overall I had such an excellent experience with this shop, I left a happy customer with the hard case I was looking for and a few other items. Their customer service is excellent and their bike knowledge is extensive. Other customers also seemed extremely well attended and had all their questions answered. I definitely recommend this shop!
