Within 30 minutes of placing my order, Metro Fabrics had sent me 2 email; 1 that they had received my order and another that it was on the way. Seriously impressed with this brand. And the linen is gorgeous. Fabric is excellent quality and exactly as described online. Count me one happy customer!!

Beautiful selection and helpful staff. I made a priest’s alb with white cotton fabric. Truly perfect, right weight and wrinkle free. Also lavender cotton linen for a mother of the groom dress. Lovely color.

Received my first order from Metro textiles, after placing it per a recommendation from an instructor in a class. Super fast shipment, and two fabrics I ordered are simply stunning. The iridescent linen may be my new favorite fabric ever - I immediately had to start sewing! And I love that the muslin comes in 5 yard cuts. I'm a new devoted customer!

My first encounter with Metro Textile was an online transaction after finding a Metro Textile Ad on Instagram. That transaction went so well that I ordered again, online.
When I was in New York City, I decided I wanted to definitely stop by and see the store in person. Kashi was like a 5-man operation. He was tending to me, processing online orders and directing his crew bringing in new inventory off the truck. How he does it all is beyond me, but he is simply magical.
Metro Textiles is in an office building on the 9th floor. When you get off the elevator swing a right and the store is at the end of the hall. Its a small space, but just ask Kashi. He knows where everything is. If the space overwhelms you - NYC Garment District can do that to a newbie - try shopping online first, write down the item numbers and then bring them to Kashi for you to see them in-person.

Everything was packaged very well and I received my material quickly. In my order I had several lengths of silk, and each one I received far exceeded expectation; no snags, no weirdness, it wasn't wrinkled, not dirty, not just thrown into the box without care... they take care of you in that way.
The main thing I got was that royal blue double sided silk. and OMG it is absolutely phenomenal. Can't wait to make that up into a dress! You're not going to get this type of quality from a big box fabric/crafts store where if they did have it, you'd pay more! I'm a super satisfied customer who will absolutely will be shopping again (probably soon!)
This is a little gem of a store. I love visiting and shopping here when I go to NYC. Kashi is such a sweet man and his prices are very affordable. They carry a decent selection of fabrics for such a small store too.

Absolutely wonderful experience. My daughter wanted fabric to make a dress (just starting out) so I took her here based on the reviews. My goodness, there are a lot of fabrics! But better yet is Kashi, who not only immediately guided us to the wall of $4 fabrics (which are gorgeous) but also, gave my daughter pointers about which fabrics would be easier to use as well as provided cheerful encouragement for her to sew and design. Such an amazing experience all around and my daughter couldn't stop talking about how much she loved it there. Thank you!!
Kashi is so helpful, patient and knowledgeable. I went to buy fabrics for my daughter's upcoming wedding and he helped me pick several fabrics and linings. I was so pleased with all my fabrics. The prices and variety were incredible!!! Seriously. He gets a lot of leftover fabrics from designers so you know the fabrics are of excellent quality. I know I will be returning!!! Thanks Kashi!
The owner was very lovely, knowledgeable, and helpful, the prices and selection were excellent. I wanted black 100% silk and he showed me 6 great options before I'd even put my bag down. And at $10 and $15 per yard, plus expert personal service, I plan to go back for all my fabric needs.
There are some incredible, incredible deals in this place! The service was also super friendly and helpful and as Kashi got a sense of my taste and preferences he started pulling bolts of fabric from hidden corners that I immediately fell in love with - I came away with fabric for the specific project I was shopping for, as well as a pile for my stash. A little smaller than some of the garment district fabric stores, but absolutely worth a stop for selection and value. Since I'm not local, they also offered share pictures if I'm ever looking for something specific.
