I had an incident at this CVS location today around 9 am , in the cold and flu medication section. While I was looking at products, a glass display door fell and hit my head. I now have a bump on my head, and although I understand accidents can happen, the employee present did not seem concerned. He only asked if I was okay and then walked away without further assistance.
What concerns me most is that this could have been much more serious. I expected a more attentive and responsible response, especially in a situation involving a potential head injury. In addition, the employee’s attitude throughout the interaction did not feel professional or caring.
I hope management reviews safety procedures and customer service standards to prevent this from happening again.
If I could give it zero I would. Horrible pharmacy staff. Waited 40 minutes for a prescription that was already ready and they just never called names because they apparently "don't do that anymore". Blamed being short staffed and the layout of the pharmacy. Apparently you have to check in here AND go up and keep asking for your prescription. Offered ZERO apology.
I am a medical doctor and a regular customer at this CVS pharmacy. I generally try to be patient, understanding how busy pharmacies can be. During a recent visit, I was asked for my insurance card, which I provided (it was already on file). Because my medication is more expensive through insurance, I use a GoodRx coupon, which had already been applied to the prescription in my CVS app.
After the issue was resolved and I was waiting for my medication, the staff member stated to their colleague that “no one is using coupons,” pointing to me and another customer. When I attempted to explain that the coupon was already applied and visible in my account, I was repeatedly “shushed” and told to calm down, despite speaking calmly and not raising my voice.
This interaction was dismissive and unprofessional. Rather than addressing the situation or clarifying the process, staff chose to speak to me in a condescending manner. Because of this experience, I will be transferring my prescriptions to another pharmacy.
The pharmacy at CVS 5 Penn Plaza is dysfunctional. 1 am reporting them to OPMC. 1. They can’t be reached ever by the provider or the patient 2. They don’t know the I-Stop rules on controlled substances- they can’t count to 30. 3. I almost was in the ER for a manic episode b/c they can’t follow the I- Stop guidelines. 4. I am going to sue them for damages .
Horrible customer service. I asked for help at 21:20hrs. Young cashier explained to press button for service just to open a locked kcup aisle. All I received was a rude answer press the button. Date of incident 11/11/25. 25 year old black girl at counter. 21:28hrs. I walked away from a arrogant person.

I placed an online same day photo order, got a confirmation email saying it’s ready, but when I went to pick it up the next day, the staff said it won’t be ready. Ever.
The manager McKenna was rude and unapologetic. No suggestion on what to do. Terrible customer service.
Worst CVS , everything is locked up and you push for assistance and all the employees are in the front talking to each other. You want to buy something but need to chance someone down to do so. This is 2025, ease of purchase contributes to your sales. The harder you make it to buy something , the leas inclined customers are to purchase.
I’ve shopped at many CVS stores, but this location has the most unprofessional, hostile staff I’ve ever encountered. One employee (older guy, acts like he runs the place) went off on me for simply saying “excuse me” and squeezing past when he ignored me. Instead of apologizing or moving, he decided to berate a paying customer over basic manners.
If you value decent service, stay away. This isn’t just bad training it’s a culture problem. Workers here act like they’re doing you a favor by letting you shop. Save yourself the frustration and go to Walgreens or even a grocery store; at least their employees understand how retail works.
Dirty store with really unfriendly, easily agitated pharmacy technicians. They need an attitude fix. I understand that the pharmaceutical industry is rife with asinine guidelines, regulations & pricing but at least show some empathy and understanding for patients. People need their medication to function and employees shouldn't act as if customers are there to be demanding and entitled out of spite. It is not OK to lie to customers and say that there is nothing that can be done. All options and efforts should be exhausted before a patient has to leave without the medication that they needed when entering the door. Leave customer service jobs if you cannot help yourself from having a terrible attitude.
humans don't answer the phone and they won't return your calls. i've been unmedicated for a month now because i got robbed and they refuse to fill my re-written prescription. might kms in the store for fun idk, they don't care.
i hate cvs so much they are all horrible pharmacies and i only use them because my insurance forces me to.
The services of the pharmacy have deteriorated. CVS was on top of, and notifying me, of the availability of my meds. Now I have to go into the store and argue for my medication and then wait for it to be prepared, as they no longer are done in advance. I will be looking for a new pharmacy.
How is a pharmacy in the busiest part of Manhattan closed for 30 minutes in the middle of the day? Showed up at 1:32 PM and apparently that means my wife gets to be in pain for an extra half hour. Thanks for nothing. And update your sign (photo attached).
My experience in this store this evening was awful as it usually is, courtesy of the toxic manager who harrassed me at the ATM while I tried to use it.. I'm 67 yo, disabled veteran who's been a customer since you existed.. I don't appreciate the treatment received this evening in this store..
Idk his name. But a guy helped me out with my athsma attack with a pump and didn't expect anything in return. He worked at the pharmacy and wore glasses. Give man a raise bro
It was a walking distance from the hotel we stayed at in Manhattan. It is the most unorganized cvs I had ever visited. Employees are not friendly, and not willing to help. Lacked of the most essentials personal products. Not recommended.
I utilize the pharmacy because it is open 24 hours. I can't comment on other aspects of the store because I don't typically use it. The staff is very friendly and accommodating.
I bought Jerkey a good price (1 + 1 free). I did not tell you that it was just a discount on a loyalty card. I bought quite a lot and the card would have h founded. CVS did not want to return money! Scammers!
Stay as far away as you can from this store. The management is absolutely horrific. Sometimes there are only 2-3 cashiers and a line of 20-30 people. I worked in this store for 4-5 months and nothing ever changes. The workers that bust their ass taking care of customers don't get appreciation, don't get a tap on the shoulder for doing hard work. 99% of the customers are always angry and irritated because of the lack of people on the registers. I've seen people sent home and written up for the stupidest reasons. This store whether you want a job or want to shop should be avoided at ALL COSTS.
