Will not be returning to this store. I went up to a man who worked there and he refused to help me and told me to go find the tool I was looking for myself.

I like this hardware store but the only problem is that they do not have cheaper alternatives for items like tape or glue forcing you to buy name brand items like gorilla but besides that its pretty good.

I was instantly greeted with a smile by a very handsome and helpful man at this particular ace. I was looking to get a key made but unfortunately my kind of key is unique and needs to be copied from my building manager. Which is kind of a rip off costing me more than going to the hardware store. However I’d definitely go back to this hardware store for any household projects that I may need.

I love the variety here, but I dread the counter. This is the third time the woman behind the counter is so rude it's painful. Grow up kid life is hard and if the company doesn't pay enough for you to be even the slightest bit nice to people QUIT. The neighbors would TRULY BE RELIEVED even more than you for hating people as much as you do. Anyone needing hardware not wanting to be given dirty looks, eye rolls, attitude or general entitled misery head on down to H&W a few blocks down on 1st they don't treat people like they are putting them out for wanting to be rung up.

Gr8 selection of paint colors & Brands. Nice in-person customer service; not so much on the phone. The item I was looking for was stated in stock on their website, but not in store when I called. Call before u go to make sure.

I’ve been coming here since I’ve lived in the neighborhood for the past five years. They typically have anything one would need from a household or hardware perspective, including kitchen items. I appreciate that they also have light equipment rentals such as dolly’s since many of us don’t have these items in our apartments. My only real complaint about this store is the experience can vary wildly from a customer service perspective. Some of the people who work here are so helpful and kind that they are driven to help you get exactly what you need. Others who work here have an awful attitude and act as if they are annoyed by your very presence. In an age when so much retail shopping is done online and when many of the things sold in this store could be easily purchased through Amazon, local business should be differentiating themselves through superb customer service that inevitably deems them as an essential part of the local community.

Once again, quoted $9.99 per foot for carpet per the price tag and the helpful and kind men. The female cashier had to finish picking her nose before agknowledging me, charged me double the price and then yelled in my face. Customer Service is the cashier's only job. I don't think she's unloading any trucks. Got to let this one go.

You know all those neighborhood shops that used to be so friendly and helpful everywhere in the city? Well this is one of them - so rare nowadays! Every one of their staff is so kind and willing to assist - especially their manager Les! Les really knows his stuff and saved me on a Sunday when everything else was mostly shut. And saved a trip to Home Depot cuz they don’t know anything (no joke - one staffer told us to solder plastic one time)! Amazing shop - you’ll be glad to go here! And thank you, Les!

The real deal neighborhood hardware store. Experienced, courteous, professional sales people and owners - the way it used to be. Quite pricey so it's likely most will wait and travel to big box stores. Hopefully fhe owners will see it's better to court the smaller dollar with return customers over one time Willies and remain in business.

Last week I overheard an employee in the aisle over say, "If she's old enough to pee, she's old enough for me." Disappointed and disgusted to say the least, as I was in there with my granddaughter.

This Ace Hardware (Brickman) next to Stuyvesant Town is a helpful addition to the neighborhood, store is clean with attentive staff who are courteous and knowledgeable, prices are analogous to online hardware shops! It has two floors main entrance and a spacious shop below best part is the availability of staff should store become crowded! Recommend it!

It's just so fun to walk around, it's like a fancier dollar store! They have everything. You can have an enjoyable hour or so of browsing and come out having purchased nothing

The female staff inside does not treat customers well at all. I had 24 keys taken out the other day and 4 of them were faulty. I came to their shop twice to fix this but they just wasted my time and gave me my money back. They have really disrespectful staff.

This hardware store has for the most part been a really great 4-5 star spot. They are helpful, knowledgeable, and well stocked. However, my experience is a one star because today they lied straight to my face. One week ago I made a purchase that I tried to return today. I couldn’t return it because it falls under there non-returnable automotive items. Ok, that is fair. What is not fair and really the worst is that the first thing the cashier did was ask the person who sold me the item if they told me the no refund policy. That person lied straight to my face and said yes he did. I told them to check the tape but they said he said what he said. I turned around and left because no refunds is no refunds. My mistake for not asking and not looking up the policy, but I’m still mad at that guy for lying about what he said to me, which was absolutely nothing. And for the record I didn’t use the item. I bought it as a backup and called roadside assistance in the end. SMH.

I want to share a stunning experience I went in to buy work tools. A worker called Donald He gave me a wonderful service, full of patience, the service was professional and accurate, for that I thank him and the seller at the checkout whose name I don't remember

It is a very good Hardware Store. Yes they have so much things they sell in there you will always come here to shop for all your Hardware needs . Take it from me , I'm a explorer of many things and places. Enjoy your day .

I call here and I ask for wood filler on color I need and they told me yes they have I drive one hour to be here and when I came here they don’t have and I spoke to two girls on front desk. One was good another one with black hair she talk to me very disrespectful

solid hardware store in the StuyTown area. my local hardware spot didn’t have what i needed so i headed to this Ace Hardware. a staffer helped me get to the stuff i needed. the store is crammed with items. it’s pretty clean and organized. prices feel high here but it’s NYC so what are you going to do. this store won’t turn you into a Mr. Fixit but it will serve your normal New York City dweller needs.

Hello there, Panda aka Black McGuyer The staff was helpful and professional for sure everyone. Just came from a hardware store that try to charge me 98 dollars for dust tape and owner seem to not know how to use pay and tap system. So, I'd came here for some help and I got directed in the right direction for what I needed to fix my foldable wagon for the moment until I get a new one in the mail. But I would come here again for services and now I know what I need to fix a wagon, Thank you Ace for hiring good people and keep up the good work friends. The place by the way was easy to get around and easy to find things too.

Verbally degraded by an employee (who insulted my appearance to my face.) There’s no denying it, the manager witnessed it. I was traumatized enough to call back a day or so later & the store manager was rude beyond belief. If only there was a recording of that call, it would go viral - the rudeness I experienced was so far out there. I called the owner of the entire franchise and he was very nice, but overall - wow, just wow. Never experienced anything else this bad out of the decades of hundreds/thousands of customer service interactions. I never leave reviews either but this was truly a horrible experience on so many levels.

I've been to this store multiple times and every time it's the same - wonderful employees who all seem happy to go the extra mile to help. Really outstanding service and they have what you need.

Can't believe I'm reviewing a hardware store but seriously the staff here is the best. Incredibly helpful (no matter how knowledgeable you are about your project) and friendly. There are closer hardware stores to me but I travel to this one and recommend it to all my friends.

I went into this Ace Hardware Store located on the West side of 1st Avenue, between E. 2nd and E. 3rd Street looking for a shower hose adapter, and the employee gave me the wrong size adapter. The individual was too sure and cocky of himself to listen to what I needed. Once I showed him a piece of the connection, he said I know what you need. I went back hoping to get the right size adapter, a 1/2 in. x 3/4 in. adapter. He said, do this and and do that with the adapter, it would work. Went back a 3rd time, this time with my Handyman in troll. After the 3rd attempt, we still did not get the right size adapter. Hence, the project is behind schedule.

I frequent this Ace often and I am always happy with their selection and service. Recently, Carlos went above and beyond to help me out which I am very grateful for. If there is ever something I need they don’t carry they will always try and point me in the right direction.

There was someone when we walked in who immediately asked us if we needed help and assisted us so well WHILE SOCIAL DISTANCING appropriately. Then, the man who made the paint and the cashier couldn’t have been nicer and more helpful too. Haven’t been going to a lot of stores because of the virus, but this was a treat.

For all the little hardware things, this is a great local place to go. The moment you walk in there is a friendly staffer waiting to help you. Great selection of items from tools to gardening supplies to home goods. Even found a tough to find plumbing part there with help. Worth making this your local go to.

This store has nearly everything and the staff are always super helpful and friendly. If you don't see it, just ask and someone will walk you straight to the item. Definitely worth the few extra cents to have attention and courtesy that the Depot/Lowe's stores never seem to provide.
