My daughter has 3 hours exam , so I thought may be I will go to the Target and spend the time there. But guess what, I went there for mostly clothing and jewelry section, but that Target did not have those section, can you believe that!

Customer Service Concern and Recognition – Target 23rd Street & 8th Avenue Customer Relations I am writing regarding a recent experience at the newly opened Target - 23rd St & 8th Ave location. I entered the store specifically looking for vegan butter. Upon arrival, I approached an employee named Eric, who was standing near the entrance engaged in an extended conversation with a security guard. While I understand employees may need to communicate, it was evident that the conversation was taking priority over assisting customers. When I asked where I could find vegan butter, Eric stated that he did not know and directed me to the back of the store where regular butter is located. After walking there, it was clear the item was not in that section and would logically have been located in a different refrigerated area much closer to where he was standing, within approximately ten feet of his position. Before leaving, I decided on my own to stop at the register and ask again. At that point, Ursula and Alana assisted me. They took the time to look the item up properly and provided the kind of attentiveness and professionalism that should have occurred at the door. I sincerely appreciate their effort and customer care. As I exited the store, Eric was still at the front engaged in conversation with the security guard, not assisting customers entering or leaving. There was no follow up and no attempt to correct the earlier interaction. This was not simply about an item being unavailable. It was about attentiveness and basic service standards. The difference between Eric’s response and the assistance provided by Ursula and Alana was noticeable. Eric clearly needs retraining on customer engagement and attentiveness. If he holds a supervisory position, that concern is even greater. I hope this feedback is received constructively and used as a training opportunity. The positive service demonstrated by Ursula and Alana shows that the standard can and should be upheld consistently. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Had a pretty pleasant experience here with nice sales crew. Very human. Unlike that horrible whole foods around the corner😆

Buyers Beware!! I shop at this location often and I am a regular customer of Target in my area in NJ. However, yesterday I had a bad experience with a young woman at cashier #1. I bought just one item (milk) and gave her a ten dollar bill, as I did not have smaller bills. She gave me change back for $5.00 instead of $10.00 so I told her I gave you a ten dollar bill. She then insisted that I had only given $5.00 because she only had the five dollar and one dollar draws open. But I was certain I had given her a $10.00 bill so I kept asking her to check again and she finally said would you like security to look at the camera to confirm and I responded yes. Lo and Behold security confirmed that I did give her a Ten Dollar Bill! She apologized but I do not buy her apology because she was adamant about me not giving her the Ten Dollar Bill. There is a scam going around like this where cashiers try to steal your money and buy the end of the day they have a lot of cash in their pockets. Then I spoke with the security guy who checked the camera to express my concern about what happened and he practically blew me off by saying "Oh this happens sometimes" as it were not important. Is this the way to treat a regular, loyal customer that shops there all the time!! I will be contacting the main office of Target to let them know what is going on here.

This location doesn’t price match for their OWN online prices and things are definitely more expensive. The supervisor told me I had to place the order online and pick it up later, even though I was already there at the register. This is the first location this has happened to me. Absurd. Will not be coming back

Smaller concept store. I get a good deal on target large sized yogurt and blue blue berries I'm annoyed they won't carry target brand refills liquid soap but they have 4 or so varieties of name brand soft soap. Its an item out of my way to get at herald square location they say there's no room in 23 st store but they can make room for it by removing just one kind of soft soap

Its a neighborhood community store. Just basic "ON THE WAY HOME" stopoff store. Very limited stock. Skeleton crew, so I had to go hunt down someone to help me.

This morning I was at the cash register at 9:29, I wanted to take advantage of the offer of cotton candy for half price, to which the young cashier almost laughed, which was strange, then at the end, when I had already paid, he said very quietly, "get out of here," which was very rude, I only realized what he said when I had already taken a few steps towards the door, and I didn't turn back because I had thanked him when I was taking the receipt, and it was completely unexpected, and he said it very quietly, but I still heard it. It's an unpleasant situation, and the attitude towards customers is inappropriate. If he doesn't like his job, I think he should stay at home!

This Target is smaller than your usual ones, and I get it — it’s Manhattan — but the prices are pretty ridiculous. Most regular items are about $2 more than usual. To be fair though, their own brand stuff is reasonably priced and about the same as everywhere else.

Good store for many reasons; their shoe and clothing department, their pretty dresses and their mini super market has got many vegan choices at affordable prices.

Location is a joke. Unorganized shelves and they don’t even have the basics. No iron board pads. Won’t be back.

As a Target card holder since 2014, I'm appalled at my experience today from 4:20- 4:32 PM just went to speak to some as I exited. In all my years, I asked the associate for the bathroom; he looked into his phone to type the code. When I came out, I was greeted by a Hispanic gentleman who appeared to be a prevention agent, he had a yellow vest that stated “assets prevention.” He went into the bathroom and checked after me and then exited as if nothing had happened I mean hello doesn't get any more obvious. The insinuation that I had stolen something. That made me very uncomfortable. Mind you, it was two associates outside the single bathroom. Literally standing at the door, when I exited, they both did so expeditiously. An associate attempted to apologize for that, making me uncomfortable, but that was not cool. I definitely felt a way, and I'll be closing my account after almost 12 years. I would highly remind everyone that no one shops at that location. I have never experienced that until today. While I understand being vigilant, that's not how you do it. The profiling and assumptions must stop, my son and I were so confused by this matter. I would like to add that the associate by the door wearing all blacks apologize and then said I could’ve been confused because we all use the same bathroom. Like I said he went into the bathroom after me checked walked right out tried to play it off as both of the associates were standing in front of the door . Please check the camera cameras roll them back. This is why someone is always coming for target because we have to do better. According to my son it was two men waiting outside my bathroom, so what was the plan target to tackle me? Like really, it's 2025!

I have no prejudices but the female to male and poc to white ratio is a bit concerning… we are in NYC and you are telling me not a single white, asian or Pacific Islander applied? Diversify.

This target frequently lies about how much stock of pokemon cards they have. Many people believe this store “back doors” pokemon product.

Not too long ago, I went to this Target with my district staff O’Neil Williams, he was looking for a kitchen related project for his mother-in-law, Tami was kind enough to give us good information about it. After giving out the info, I said “Thank you Tami.”

I came in to buy an item for $5.32. I gave the cashier $10.35, expecting $5.03 back. The cashier (I forgot to get her name) was a female in her mid-late 20s of hispanic descent gave me back $0.03 and a receipt and called for the next customer. I said "Wait you forgot my $5." She said "You only gave me $5" (which is what she punched in). I said "No, I gave you a $10 bill." She said hold on and walked to the end of the aisle. A few minutes later another employee walked over to tell me that they are looking at security footage to verify my claim. Five minutes more, she walks back, does not say a word, looks at the receipt again, then opens the register and hands me a $5 bill. But then she takes the $0.03 and puts it back in the register and closes it. I said "That $0.03 is also my change." She said "No, just the $5." I didn't want to keep holding up the line for $0.03 so I put the $5 bill in my wallet, shook my head and walked out. Even though she was 100% at fault that security tapes can prove (May 6th around 2:45pm), she still gave me attitude, did not even bother to apology for her mistake, AND stole money from me. To Target Management: Please teach your staff basic math, how to respect customers, and that it is wrong to steal from customers.

This Target is essentially a CVS on steroids. They don’t sell clothes/socks/underwear or many of the other things at a regular-sized Target (like at 34th or the UWS). Even the food items they do sell lack the variety you will find at other Targets; prices are much cheaper on essentials at Trader Joe’s. Was excited to have a Target in the neighborhood, but this one is a big disappointment.

So happy with this new location! It’s nice having a target in the neighborhood. Prices are great and I always find what I need. Very convenient

This location is another small mini store that’s like Duane Reade with a couple lamps. Worse it’s owned a company who’s CEO is bailing on diverse consumers and employees who brought about Targets success. I’ll be sticking to local stores
Jan 27, 2025 -
Understaffed and overpriced. Came in for what should have been an easy return and it they couldn't scan the gift receipt off of my phone. Apparently this is done on purpose to prevent... convenience? Prices are comparable to anywhere else in the city, so why anyone come here.

So I went to Target earlier with the intention of finding some twist ties for my wires and cables. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find any, but a staff (he’s handsome and cute tho) kindly informed me that there is none at the store but there still two left at the Target in Manhattan Soho. I decided to buy a few other things before heading home. By the way, the staff at Target are so accommodating and friendly. When I got home, I realized I had misplaced my phone and started to panic a little. I opened Life360, and fortunately, my phone was still at Target! I rushed back to the store and asked the security staff if anyone had reported a lost phone, but she seemed a little unbothered and said no. So, I decided to retrace my steps and looked around the areas I had been earlier in the store. That’s when I ran into the same staff I had spoken to earlier. He remembered that I had two phones, so he went over to another employee, a kind woman named Nilda, to ask for her help. I explained the situation to Nilda, and she was incredibly kind and calls the number of my lost phone (I left my other phone at home coz I went back in haste). She went upstairs, then headed to the checkout, and thankfully, my phone had been found. She gave it back to me, and I was so relieved! I just want to give a huge thank you to Nilda and the other guy who were so patient and kind.Target is lucky to have such amazing employees!

Newly opened target smaller in size then most of its chain stores with limited inventory granted it literally just opened a few months ago. However great customer service and clean store.

Is it me or are the prices oddly high? A 32 ounce bag of frozen organic tropical fruit is $13. The same thing at Whole Foods is $6. In general, store has essentials but variety is limited.
