Great service and attention to detail! Elena made sure that I ended up with the perfect fit for my 2 parkas. Very clean and stylish establishment.

I brought in my dress with very little time before a wedding, slightly stressed about the fit — and they worked magic. Everything was tailored beautifully and ready right when promised. It fit like it was made for me. I felt so good all night. So grateful!

I got a two pairs of paints altered at this store. Both pants were thrifted and therefore fit awkwardly, however, after getting the paints back they quickly became my favorite items in the wardrobe. Alts was incredibly professional, I will happily return when I have new things to tailor :)

It would have been difficult for them to be kinder and more attentive. Five stars. I will be back. Brought pants to wear around the city that were flannel lined but not altered correctly. They rushed the job and got it done at the beginning of our time there on Friday morning. I was able to wear them all day Friday, all day Saturday, and all day Sunday. Stayed toasty warm. Looked stylish. They even gave me advice on length. 5/5! Will visit again!

Tyrone Jones at the Grand Central location is my tailor-hero. Besides being expertly knowledgeable and skillful, he has a great sense of style and is a pleasure to work with. And if there are options to consider, I never feel rushed. One tricky project was a great Chloe jacket in camel hair that was shredding at its quilted-silk shoulders. It was unusable. He overlaid the worn areas with camel hair, and it looks perfect, as though it was designed that way. I’ve been coming to Tyrone for two years, for many items. He’s superb.

Incredible service, very professional. They did a same day repair for my son’s Nike Jordan jacket and it was flawless.

Walked in to get the zipper of my most favourite dress fixed, that had randomly broke that morning. I was desperate as I needed it that night. Service was SUPERB! Tyrone was very speedy and made me feel like I was in the best hands. Haven’t had any problems with the zipper since! DEFINITELY RECOMMEND!!!!!!

A representative from the company reached out to me, heard my concerns, and were willing to work with me to find a solution to my issues. Very good customer service.

I had a last-minute emergency and needed my pants hemmed for a wedding the very next day. Alts Alteration Specialists took care of me right away and had everything done within minutes! I would only recommend this place if you’re in a last-minute emergency and don’t mind spending a lot. I brought in four pairs of pants to be hemmed and was charged over $200 — more than $50 per pair — even though their website lists hems starting at $18. On top of that, it took two weeks to get them back. I really regret coming here. I would’ve been much better off going to a local tailor for a faster turnaround and a much more reasonable price.

Tyrone from Alts was able to make a miracle happen! I needed a dress fixed while on the way to a wedding, stopped in for 10 minutes, and he had it good to go. Could not recommend Tyrone and Alts enough!

Tyrone Jones IS ABSOLUTELY A LIFESAVER. My wedding was literally in 2 days, and I gave a quick call to the 40th street Alts location. The clasp and hook on my wedding dress had broken, and they kindly took me in immediately. The team was so understanding and helpful. Tyrone immediately replaced the clasp for me (within 15 minutes) - and it was SIGNIFICANTLY stronger than the one that came with the dress itself. Truly so thankful. I was so stressed given the timing, but they were SO patient. I will also say, I did come here for my second dress for the wedding as well and they did a wonderful job. The team is really just so patient and caters to what you need. My dress was altered much faster than initially scheduled.

The front desk staff was very welcoming and the space was warm and inviting. Tyrone was extremely helpful and took the time to assess the fit and gave expert advice on the perfect length for me. Tyrone Jones is my hero. I brought in a gown that I love and could no longer return and I needed a bit more space but there was no way to let it out. Tyrone is a problem solver and miracle worker within 15 minutes he created the space I needed and took away my anxiety. I will never go to another tailor. I also want to say the staff and lovely and informative. I knew exactly what expect around timing should l have needed something more extensive. Do not hesitate to make an appointment.

Avalon quickly transformed a dress I no longer wore into an adorable peplum top that I can see myself wearing much more often! I also had two formal wedding guest dresses tailored to fit me perfectly. While their prices are premium, you are definitely receiving premium service and peace of mind that you’ll be getting exactly what you asked for. I’ve been burned a couple times going to random dry cleaners for alterations and getting things back shorter than what I had requested. Highly recommend Alts - especially if you have any formal or event wear you want tailored to fit you perfectly!

I am so thankful for discovering Alts! I had a few seats that needed to be tailored, and I brought one to a local tailor here in Danbury Connecticut. The result was awful. I discovered Alts through a Google search and brought one suit just to try the services. It was amazing! I’m bringing the rest of the suits down and all my alterations going forward will be through Alts. Well worth the commute! Tyrone Jones was my tailor and his work was awesome!!

I had a rehearsal dinner dress for my wedding that was three sizes too big. I tried to take it to another place, but it was never quite right. I ended up coming to Alterations Specialist two weeks before my wedding, and they did an incredible job and turned it around in a day! I can’t believe how perfect the dress fits! I’m sending my maid of honor here to have her dress fixed because I know they can turn it around in a timely, high quality manner. Cannot recommend them enough!!

Ordered a dress for my engagement party that looked too frumpy. Came to Alts and Lee Ann made my dress fit like a glove! I felt and looked great! Will definitely keep coming for more alterations.
