What clients say about T.J. Maxx in New York (NY)
-
Well, I stumbled on this rare gem and got a set of my favorite knives for $80
Feb 24, 2026 -
Every time I come here everything good is gone. Employees are rude and escalators never work doors are broken
Feb 15, 2026 -
The selection here is reminiscent of a thrift shop—unfortunately, it lacks the organization to match. Between the cramped two-story layout and the underwhelming inventory, the 'discounted' prices feel like the bare minimum for the area rather than a true bargain.
Feb 01, 2026 -
There seems to be an issue with incorrect price tags. I picked up a great find off the clearance rack. The young lady at the counter called on another worker to check price. I was just left there to wait no explanation. Until the worker came back to say the item was $4 not $3. I was no longer interested in the item due to how the situation was handled. $4 a dollar more would of still been a great find.

We were freezing and saw T.J. Maxx out of nowhere just hiding in the buildings. Bought some jackets and gloves for super cheap. So glad we found it.
Jan 01, 2026 -
Quite crowded around holiday season. Shelves are disorganized. Not as well stocked as other locations
Dec 09, 2025 -
I purchased a pot with non sticking coating at the bottom from Wall Street TJ Maxx store. However, the pot had the bad smell when I put water into it to heat on the stove for the first time use. Then I poured out the water and added water again, it spread the bad smell again. I took the pot to the store for return. But the store manager said it could not be returned because I used it. If I did not use it, how did I know the bad smell from the pot? The manger still rejected my return. So do not buy pots with BURKE brand and the store manager was not qualified as a manager.

While I appreciate the variety in selection, my rating reflects the rude interaction I had with the cashier Paula. I addressed my concerns with the store manager that day, something I rarely do. I can only hope that something was done about the situation. Will not be returning. I feel uncomfortable and embarrassed to shop here since the incident.

This location was a pleasant surprise! The store was clean, organized, and had a great selection. It did feel a little warm inside, but that’s probably because it’s located in the basement level. Overall, it was a great shopping experience — I found some really good gems here that you don’t usually come across in other Marshalls or TJ Maxx stores outside the city. Definitely worth stopping by if you’re in the area.

I love shopping at this TJ Maxx. This store is very organized and even though the lines are long during busy times, it always moves very quickly (I always try and tell people who are intimidated at the line). I do want to leave a review for SUSETTE who helped me out today. She was very lovely and helpful- although all employees at this location seem to be the same way!!! :)
Oct 08, 2025 -
I bought a beautiful jacket in olive green here today, a nice 🟣 purple Democracy top, a 80% wool hat and warm avalanche gloves. I love this off the run way location and always find clothes here because they have an excellent selection.

Christian was a big help helping with my store credit return. Due to the complexity of the return i.e. missing tags, he got all the items matched up with the receipt and got me on my way. He definitely was a bright part of the staff and

One must have a great deal of time and patience to shop here in the financial district location. After waiting 20-25 minutes at the jewelry station, I left the earrings that I was going to buy. No one told me that I had to pick a number. I was only advised that I can buy at the front where the line was voluminous and that there were customers in front of me at the jewelry station so I had to wait. One might not want to shop here if time is of the essence, e.g., an hour lunch. I heard the customer service employee request someone in jewelry to assist and no one came. Sad.

Customer service is horrible woman was trying to persuade my friend and me to get their credit card from the store.and when I ask her a question four times she just ignored me and said next, please so you got a teacher workers to be less persuasive and more understanding. Never going to come back to the store again thank you.

The ted baker hang bag for a steal here. Always you find one item good for the money

It's ok. It's pretty clean but it's really small. The food/snack section and the pet section seem like they never get any new inventory. I can never find the hair products I use there but if you're really into hair, skin and makeup products, they do have a good selection. It's more like a TJ Maxx Express.

Love this location. So easy to get to. Right across from Wall Street Stock Exchange. Maybe a bit hidden if you don't know where to look, but I like that about it. A bit of a secret when shopping in this metropolis is good. Love designer sunglasses @ great prices and skincare. Who needs Sephora? They do have shoes, but never in my (big foot) size. Also, workout equipment which is unique - yoga mats and the like. If you come here during lunch break in the area, line is outrageous so be mindful of that.

This TJ Maxx has a lot of room for improvement. Aside from the fact that they’re in a basement, the floor arrangement is just pure chaos. The skincare section is the only thing that brings me back here, they have a wide range of affordable Korean skincare, the staff keep following people around the store which is extremely weird. The clothes selection are often purely casual, I thought they would have some good formal wear especially since they’re located right in Wall Street! The management of this store can do so much better.

Great location! They have a lot of inventory here. I live near 59th street and I like that TJ Maxx but it's a smaller store so they never have as much as other locations. Bought a Lodge frying pan, some easy throw on pants for the summer, bath gel and hair ties. I'm really loving discount shopping. Feel so stupid to have wasted my money for so many years shopping at Bloomingdale's, etc.

Very untidy and very empty store. There are much better stores like this in New York. It wasn't worth going.
Jan 04, 2025 -
I was looking for marble coasters and found them at a very discounted price. On line I purchased ones which were four times more expensive, arrived broken and damaged due to bad packaging. TJMaxx had a couple of coasters on sale and I found what I was looking for. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Though they’re close to the office, it had been some time since I had gone there. Returning very soon.

This store looks pretty bad, hidden, only one sign on the sidewalk says there is a TJ Maxx in the basement... Narrow escalator will take you down, and finally, when you're down and inside, you probably wont find anything. Oh... and there is no wi-fi in there... :( You can do it much better TJ Maxx...

Great place to shop home stuff especially gifting. The place is in downtown near WTC. Definitely worth a visit!
May 10, 2022 -
Love coming here, one of my favorites. IS ALL QUALITY HERE. GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE AND GREAT PRICES.
Sep 03, 2021 -
Great spot for dog toys and other cheap items that are surprisingly high quality. Just try to avoid during rush hours of lunch and after work in which there are long lines at checkout!
Dec 29, 2019 -
This is a pretty great location! It's not the easiest to find but once you do, you'll be happy. They have multiple cash registers to help move congestion at the line. Expect to wait during the busier times and pick up things you dont need on your way to the register lol The workers are friendly and helpful. I appreciate that security doesn't follow you around when you shop. The first floor is mainly clothing and shoes and bags and small accessories. It also has beauty, travel items and some home goods. The second floor, downstairs is more home goods, candles, decorations and things like that. Just be aware that phone service may not be the best down there. There is a lot of selection, things are organized neatly and efficiently and in a way that you can find what you're looking for. Even if you're not looking to buy or dont have time to wait on line, there's a lot to browse and window shop. I will definitely visit again.
Nov 27, 2019 -
2 floors. A wide variety of clothing. Everything from formal to active wear to bedtime. Also a huge selection on bath and cosmetics products. I was able to snag 2 facial products for about 10 bucks. The cashier was really friendly.
