What clients say about Crossroads Trading in New York (NY)

I almost never give reviews but I must say this store was pretty good for the place it’s located in. I came in around 30 minutes before they closed and managed to snag some good clothes. Unlike the other reviews stating the employees being rude, racist and having poor customer service, I thought the staff was pretty helpful and chill, treating me with respect as I tried on the clothes and checked out. No one rushed me or disrespected us as I shopped with my brother and as a teen from a Hispanic background I felt comfortable shopping the store. The prices were very reasonable for the brands they had, ranging from $20-$30. Overall I liked this store very much honestly.

This was the worst experience ever i had with any trade in store lol i called first it was around closing time i guess i shouldve went earlier but i called first to make sure they can take the clothes and they said yes and i went with my mom from 1 and a half hour away and it was already stressful enough as it is and as i come in and they looked at me with really rude looks and stares from the very workers that told me i could bring it in and they told me i could not do it and had to wait till tomorrow if i could give them 0 stars i would, the experience and the time i spent to come here wasn’t worth it go to buffalo exchange or somewhere where you can have the smoothest experience.

The staff along with security are very disrespectful. I came in with my husband and I had my medium sized crossbody purse bag. The security guard told me that I had to leave my " pocketbook"in the front I told him I refuse because it's my purse and told me I couldn't shop in the store unless I left my purse in the front as he flexed and talked to me as if was a child. My husband asked him why would he want me a woman to leave my pocketbook in the front and walk around the store with just my wallet and the guard along with two young men behind the counter stated " it's their policy" . Yet, others of different race were walking around with backpacks, shoulder cloth shopping bags, two women walked in with their shopping bags and my husband stated to the three men who were terribly rude and obnoxious "why didn't you check all of these people bags and the security guard said" it's his choice ". The manager a African American seemed sincere and respectful why trying to diffuse the situation to no prevail and commenced to walk out the store to I guess take a break. Through the 5 minutes back and forth we still weren't allowed to shop. It breaks my heart because never have my husband and I two hard working individuals ever been treated so disrespectful. I would say this store racially profiles individually and it needs to stop!!. This world is going through enough hardship and struggles as it is!!. My husband nor I will ever patronize this specific establishment again.

This is a pretty good crossroads. Unlike the eir across the street competitor, the dressing rooms are spacious and things can be found on sale throughout. I score 8 out of ten times I come here.

Rude staff and poor customer service. Employees, especially the female ones prioritize chatting with each other over helping customers and often speak down to sellers and shoppers. I’m a loyal Crossroads shopper and seller, but every time I come into this location, I leave feeling talked down to and made to feel less than. That experience is really discouraging and turns me off from wanting to shop or sell here. The East Village and Flatiron locations are significantly better. This location needs serious customer service improvement.

Fair pricing, some amazing gems. Definitely pay attention to labels and item quality- some things are steals, others are meh. Just takes some discernment, but a great place to stop and explore if you have a little time.
Dec 11, 2025 -
Absolutely disappointed. Employee was completely rude after I touch a rack that was “for employees only” such a shame. We are definitely not coming back. What a shame.

Maya helped me so much at this location. Honestly the best place for vintage finds at the best price. I always find YSL etc. it’s not a secret but should be!! Alyssa was amazing too just saying!!

I’m one of the best sellers in Crossroads and Lesli and Alyssa are truthfully the best, they have great customer care. They love the people and they never switch up their attitudes. They’re helping me with my sobriety. I’m 196 days sober because of Lesli who I’ve known for a lot of years if it wasn’t for Alyssa, I would’ve still been smoking. They give me the reason to stay alive. I love you, Lesli. I love you, Alyssa.

Crossroads on 13th Street is where I found the joy of loving clothes again. The team is warm, dedicated, caring, and always welcoming. Every time I visit, I’m treated with respect and genuine attention. After working in fashion retail for many years, it’s easy to lose faith in the very thing you were once so passionate about. But Crossroads on 13th street reminded me why I loved it in the first place. This is, without a doubt, the best shopping experience in the village—familiar, unpretentious, courteous, genuine, and 100% human. To Leslie, Dylan, Maya, Krista, and everyone in the team—thank you!

In all my years of shopping at various clothing stores, I have never been treated so poorly by a store employee—ever. I’m currently visiting New York City, and my friend had thoughtfully planned a stop at Crossroads Trading as part of our shopping experience. We arrived knowing we had about 20 minutes before closing, so we were intentional about moving quickly through the store to make our selections. While selecting items, one of the employees announced that they were closing soon. After making our final selections, the employee made another announcement. As we approached the front of the store to check out (at 6:50 PM), one of the employees became visibly irritated simply because we were still browsing a rack. With a harsh tone, she ordered us to “stop touching the clothes.” The level of unprofessionalism and hostility was completely unnecessary and left a very negative impression on what was meant to be an enjoyable shopping experience. After we exited the store, a couple who had witnessed the entire interaction stopped us to express how appalled they were by the employee’s behavior. They agreed that what they saw was highly inappropriate and uncalled for. That encounter confirmed for me that this wasn’t just my perception—it was genuinely unacceptable. I would never go back!

TLDR: Do not patronize this establishment - Incredibly rude staff, HORRIBLE experience. Poorly staffed, poorly managed. THE STORY: My friend and I stopped in on Sunday evening (admittedly close to closing time; it was 6:38pm). Over the course of 10 minutes, we managed to find and pick up a few items, and staff became increasingly urgent about customers joining the line at the register. We were looking at a rack directly in front of the register by 6:48pm. One of the staff members - a young woman with dark brunette hair - said we had to join the line. The request seemed odd, given that we were standing at the line, perhaps not in perfect single file, but clearly close enough to advance once the people in front of us checked out (no fewer than 4 people already waiting). The staff member then barked, “Stop touching items on the rack; I already told you twice!” It was 6:50pm. We were holding items for purchase, waiting to be checked out and looking at things on a nearby rack. When we made note of the fact that we were clearly in line and just might be interested in other things we were seeing (again, directly in front of the register), she pouted about wanting to be able to leave AT 7pm. I let her know that if she, an employee, expected to leave at 7, they should probably close the store at 6:30. This is standard practice. At that point, I had no desire to engage in a back-and-forth with a person who clearly did not want us to spend our money there, so we put our items down on the counter and left at exactly 6:53pm (as two additional patrons were walking INTO the store). It’s absurd that she felt comfortable interacting with customers in that way. She spoke to us - two fully grown adult women, clearly looking to purchase the items in our hands - like we were children. Two customers approached us as we left to note her lack of professionalism with us. And don’t think for a moment I didn’t notice that we were the only black people in there. I struggle to believe she would have spoken to other customers in that way. Unacceptable. (Note: another woman, a manager, I presume, followed us out to ask what happened; she seemed oblivious to how the brunette was speaking to us and said, “well, it’s been a long day.” Supremely unhelpful.)

Great clothes but the staff — one of the girls acted extremely rude to customers who were about to buy clothing. It would be shocking if her behavior wasn’t fireable.
Oct 19, 2025 -
Every time I come here to sell, I get annoyed by how long I have to wait for these girls to look through my stuff because all they do is TALK to each other and they dont care about the customers time. I believe the two girls names are Lesli and Alyssa. I took the names from their name tags and my receipt. I know one of them is an assistant manager. I took some time to write this review and was reconsidering but this behavior needs to stop. I had to sit there and listen to them talk about current events and whats going on in their lives. Many times they stopped to show each other pictures in their phones. I was soo heated and annoyed and the Lesli person(short hair with glasses) does this all the time, she is unable to stop talking and focus on the job. please train these kids! I no longer will go here to sell because of them. I am now selling my stuff online because I do not have hours to waste waiting for these people to finish their conversations.

My fav location I love my finds here! Asha is the best - she is always so knowledgable and super friendly
Oct 01, 2025 -
Asha is the most fabulous lady to exist. Her customer service is as good as her style and it's always a pleasure to crossroads with her!
Oct 01, 2025 -
Female worker throws her lit cigarette onto the sidewalk and walks back inside. Dogs walking can easily step on it and get burned. Stupid. Beyond that, this place has a bunch of overpriced crap. Selection really isn't very high quality or curated. Put that in your pipe and smoke it.

I’ve been reviewing thrift stores recently not a huge fan of big thrift stores but the manager Alyssa of this store was super nice and collaborative, they had a nice style too which made me feel comfortable asking questions and shopping here. Big star for them!
Sep 14, 2025 -
I've always liked this branch more than their other locations as this one is clean, organized, the labels are clear (for shoe sizes and prices) and always have good options. But yesterday I was stunned by how nice the staffs are here. I was there grabbing something last minute, and was merely waiting for no more than 5 minutes at the front desk to check out. A guy helping other customers (for selling) noticed, and tried to ring for other people to help me check out but no one was available, so he quickly came to help me check out and said he appreciate me for waiting. I don't expect them to be this nice everytime, but want to leave this review to thank him for it.

This place is awesome. Found me some white button fly 501s for twenty five bucks. Fantastic selection of vintage clothes and shoes. My Cliff Booth wardrobe is complete!

Really organized store with a wide selection of clothes!! I love how every time I come here I can find something for a different occasion for a low price. All of the workers especially Asha are really chill and helpful… definitely becoming a staple thrift for me :)

I love this place usually, it has great clothes but all of the salespeople that were working today were so incredibly rude and treated me in an absolutely unacceptable way. I have worked in service for 7 years and I am appalled. I had traded in a bunch of clothes and valuable shoes for store credit and although it was closing time, I had all my items ready to check out at 8pm. I got screamed at in the dressing room passive aggressively multiple times. They were incredibly rude and said I had to put my items on hold instead of being able check out even though they had all the items I traded in. I rushed out of the dressing room and it was unnecessarily stressful AND I couldn’t get the clothes I wanted. The person who forced me to put my items on hold was complaining to my partner the whole time and it was embarrassing on her part to show up that way in front of customers. It was incredibly unprofessional and I am really upset about how I was treated. It was clear some of them had plans they wanted to get to instead of doing their jobs. In retail the rule of thumb is that up to and including closing time, if the customer is ready to check out you check them out. I am disgusted.

Asha is the most helpful sales associate! So knowledgeable on what’s best to sell and buy right now. Found so many goodies in the store!

Crossroads-Trade has given me more than just good deals — it’s given me a sense of flow, of things continuing their story. Every item I bring in or take home feels like it has meaning. This location stands out. It’s clean, thoughtful, and the team truly gets it — not just knowledgeable, but intuitive. It’s not just about trading stuff, it’s about discovery, expression, passing things on. For me, this place became a kind of anchor. Honest, human, and inspiring. It just feels right. Thank you so much!

First time at Crossroads and found lots of goodies . Super cute True Religion baguette bag and boots i’ve been looking for everywhere ! Asha is the sweetest and so funny. I came to this store specifically because of the better reviews compared to the other stores . Did not disappoint!!!

I love Crossroads as a company and an experience! I get such a natural high selling my items and finding new treasures, keeps everything fresh! Now this store is my favorite location..cleanest, most attentive and knowledgeable staff. Most importantly they have friendly staff and smart buyers. Each store has its own vibe depending on hood. But i feel this is the one they shoukd model all others after. it just feels right

I have been shopping at crossroads for 7 years now. I recently went to the 13th street location and I was shocked by the bad attitude the cashier gave to me. I was waiting in line and this nice couple said to me I can go first. I went to check out and I got the nastiest attitude from the cashier assuming that I cut people in line. Management should train their employees better and teach them if they can’t be nice to customers at least they shouldn’t be mean and arrogant.

I like coming here because the staff is super helpful and the clothes are laid out beautifully. Christa was incredibly helpful locating a dress I had tried earlier. Her pleasant disposition is a reflection of pretty much all the staff and the choices and prices in here are excellent.
