Great store with all your needs! Friendly staff and reasonable prices. Amazing variety

Just had a TERRIBLE experience in that store. First store I’ve ever been in the city where you CANNOT return the article you bought - a fan for over $150, that I’m never going to use because it’s too big. I was forced into a store credit by a very unpleasant staff. I would like to prevent this from happening again to somebody else, hence this review. I would highly recommend to go to other stores like Home Depot, where the staff is much nicer and you can return anything without any issues.

They had the supplies I needed. Staff was helpful and assisted me in finding what I wanted. In and out in 15 minutes. Satisfied customer.

Very third world. Online orders to be picked up are not there. One needs an order number to pick up an order, but Ace Hardware never sent the email that was supposed to be sent stating their order number. Could not pick up the order - which I don't think was even there. Although, my credit card was charged for that phantom item! Angry, loud and unprofessional employees, blaming the customer for not having the order number that was never emailed. No communication from Ace Hardware was ever received. What a muddled mess this place is. Don't aggravate yourself by getting involved here. Many other places sell the same things!

Every time I have to order something for my plants, this is the closest place for me to pick up. My products have always been ready by the time I arrive. Very efficient

Rainbow is a great store to have in the neighborhood. It has pretty much anything that you'd expect to find at a suburban Target or Walmart (not counting clothing). The staff is always friendly and helpful, the hours are convenient, and their rewards program for regular customers offers some valuable offers and discounts.

Amazing hardware and general goods store! I had a problem with a piece of furniture and the manager himself came to help me find the right pieces and helped me screw them in. Amazing selection and quality of goods, but the customer service is truly outstanding!

Rainbow has a wide variety of options there for every need. Me and my granddaughter always end up spending a lot of time there finding everything we need. The staff is also really friendly. Highly recommend!

I ordered a grill for delivery from Ace Hardware’s online store, and I guess Rainbow Ycs is the affiliate store that fulfills the order. A few days before scheduled delivery Rainbow calls me to tell me they don’t deliver to Astoria (even though the Ace website let me complete the order and I’m only a mile away) so either I’d have to pick up the grill from Rainbow or cancel the order. The reasoning was “we just don’t cross the river.” Part of the fault is on Ace Hardware but I was very disappointed with how Rainbow responded ??

I want to take this moment to say Ty for your help and your professional of everyone in this location. I drove from New Jersey to go and pick up 1 item cause this location went out of there way to help me out to fillul my nephews Santa wish. This location did that in having the last item on there self and to hold it for me. I took my road trip to this location cause of the help and professionalism that I don't find in any store like this one. Thank you to everyone there and happy holidays and may the lord bless everyone and there families alway. This place literally has anything. In today’s day of Amazon orders, I really try to shop small when I can but a lot of places don’t offer the things I’m looking for sometimes. Rainbow literally always has anything I need to the point where it actually makes me laugh. The store is chaotic but it’s part of the experience. Staff are no nonsense but very helpful

Good hardware + store. Prices not crazy and staff is attentive although one grumpy guy told me " what we have is on the shelf" last time I needed something. I still like the store.

THE BEST variety store I’ve ever been to. Not only do they have basically everything, but they have international versions that aren’t easy to get in the US. They have high end products for skin and hair at cheap prices. They have really reliable bathroom and household items. I’ve been coming here for over a decade and it never disappoints. I bought a vacuum here for college in 2016 and it still works perfect. Same with a blow up bed. I wish I still lived near it.

Great hardware store. I come here to get my keys made as they're a special type of key that require a card with a "code" to cut the key. Those who work here are friendly and quick too.

This place truly has everything and everyone is friendly. The employees are knowledgeable and take the time to listen to what you’re trying to do and will make recommendations. In this day of big box stores and online shopping, it’s rare to find a local store like with that has kept the mom & pop feel. Eric, who works in the paint section, is awesome!

I ordered an item online and got an email saying it was ready for curbside pickup. I arrived at the store and called. I spoke to a salesperson and gave them my order number. I was transferred 3 times to a brand-new salesperson and each time I had to repeat my order number. I was left on hold. While on hold I just went inside the store. I was told the item had been picked up. How? you are supposed to show photo ID. They had no information. Then a lady salesperson said she would cancel the order and I would get a refund and offered to sell me the same product in the store for a discount. UNBELIEVABLE!!!! I walked out with the refund slip and will NEVER return. I was still on hold as i drove away.

Avoid shopping here. Staff is not only uninformed - they are dismissive of customers. They all have somewhere better to be - certainly not working. The manager accuses customers of being ignorant (I heard that exact word). I have lived in this neighborhood and shopped here for 20 years. Something has happened and it’s all about the people who work there. I will try very hard to never go back again. If the owner could see it he/she would be mortified. There are plenty of hardware stores (and ofc Amazon). Don’t give them your hard earned money.

Cashiers are not well trained. I wanted to buy 4 plates and there were 3 on the shelf. I asked the cashier if they have more than displayed on the shelf. The cashier was not friendly and said that’s what they have on the shelf in a rude manner. I have the feeling that they (at least that cashier) don’t care about their business or their customers at all. I will return things that I bought before from Rainbow ACE Hardware (within a 15-day window) and will not go there again. I will share my experience with friends living in the neighborhood.

This place was amazing. I was only on the first floor and there was a downstairs as well. I'm sure that was as amazing as the first floor. They had things Walgreens and CVS didn't have and in every category imaginable. I'll def be getting back there when I have lots of time. I was heading to work so only had like 10 min. I could spend an hour in there looking at everything!! You Rock, Rainbow!!!! ??

Whenever I am there they follow me around the store. They don't ask if I need help finding something, they just lurk. Normally I wouldn't write a bad review just for that but today I had a new issue when I was checking out- something rang up twice the cost of the shelf sticker. The one I was buying didn't have a price sticker on it (many don't at this store). I said that was fine I wouldn't get it but commented that they should fix the shelf price label since all the ones in the pile over that price are the kind I was buying. The Manager then took the shelf label off, showed me that while the description was similar the item number is different and scolded me loudly, like I was trying to rip them off. I had already said just to void it out. I thought I should support my local store but it's not worth it. They have so many people working there. Maybe instead of following me around the store their time would be better spent putting correct prices on items.

It’s a great store that honestly has everything you need. It’s my go-to spot when I can’t be bothered to wait for an Amazon delivery. They literally sell everything! If you don’t have a clear list then be warned: you’ll probably spend a lot more than you bargained for. Prices are extremely reasonable, especially considering the location of the shop. The line for checkout is usually long but it always moves quickly. It can be a bit difficult to navigate around or find things, but the staff are very friendly and don’t hesitate to help.

They literally have everything!!! This place is incredible! I just moved close to it and bought everything I needed for my new apartment...cleaning products, small appliances, accessories but also paint and plants! Think about anything...yes, they have it!

There is a huge selection of stuff here and it's a great resource for UES apartment dwellers. The downside is the "service". We went there on a quiet day and asked where to find a couple different items. The clerks would not move from there spot, where they were doing nothing. They simply told us where to look. Poor customer service.

Everything for your home except food. Staff are helpful and knowledgeable. You can earn points for every dollar spent which is converted to coupons in dollars. Just received my first 2 coupons for $5 each to spend on anything in the store!
