Henry is the absolute sweetest! He was so patient and outgoing — we had such a nice conversation with him. He treats you like family, which made the whole experience even more special. The store may be small, but it’s packed with a wide variety of items that are all very reasonably priced and affordable. I originally stopped by just to pick up a birthday gift for my brother, but it quickly became one of my favorite shops in nyc. Would love to keep supporting him — highly recommend!

Henry is the sweetest man and so willing to help you find what you need. Everything he sells is excellent quality and made of very durable material. Super reasonable prices for pieces that will last you years. Some of them even come with warranties. I found the perfect everyday backpack made of sturdy and thick canvas Come say hi and support him! Henry is indeed the sweetest man alive. Tip: He loves sharing stories. Aside from that, his stuffs are the real deal. Got a backpack for only $45, and found out that it is the same backpack he has been carrying for 7 years. Gloves for $3 - what a steal. Wool military grade beanie for only $16. Support your neighbourhood with him! For tourists, he is the new institution of NYC. Google his name and you will know more.

Years ago i would visit Henry for a good travel duffle bag in a pinch without breaking the bank. Sometimes I'd find him napping on a pile of the display bags and I'd come back later xD but no matter what your surplus needs are he would always share a story and treat you like a friend as well as a customer. When I mentioned that I had been to China several times he shared stories of the mainland before the industrial manufacturing push and how when he came to the US as an immigrant he was amazed at how much money he could make even though he was paid nothing more than a few dollars an hour. That gratitude and hard work are still manifest in the shop today. Even though the neighborhood has changed Henry has preserved the NY character of merchant & customer relationship in a way that's a living testament to times past.
