Made an appointment a day ahead for a DMV inspection. They were efficient and courteous, and I was out in under 40 minutes. Would trust them for service if I needed it.

The bad part of the Harlem River Drive took me OUT today and I ended up in an emergency about 10 miles from home. After a try to make it work, I ended up getting off at the 116th street exit and google pointed me to Mike's when I was looking for support. I came in very disoriented and scared after doing my best to get to somewhere safely; and Junior and Fatou took good care of me so I could eventually get home. I am very grateful. Car felt so much better after they did a strong diagnostic and found what the actual issue was. I will be going back for future work. THANK YOU!

I WAS REFERRED BY MUTUAL FRIEND OF ME AND MIKE'S I WENT AND SCOPED OUT THE LOCATION MIKE, JR AND CREW ARE VERY FRIENDLY AND FAMILY ORIENTATED MY ENGINE HAD A LOUD SQUEAK THAT COMES AND GOES I HAD A LEAK IN MY POWER STEERING SENSOR I ALSO WANTED TO PUT IN A NEW AC COMPRESSOR AND ALTERNATOR I CAME IN WITH A SQUEAK AND A DRIP AND LEFT WITH A SMILE

Today was the first time I visited this location and I have no regrets. The staff here are true professionals and made me feel extremely comfortable. Definitely recommend this business.

Just needed an inspection, and the car was supposed to be there for an hour but due to some tech difficulties with the phones it was 7 hours (not their fault at all I could’ve walked over and checked but I’m lazy). My interactions with the staff were all so positive and lovely, and they were so competent. I love that. Will be back.

If you are looking for a mechanic shop that will care about your car and your experience then this is the place to be. I recently went here to get my breaks changed and well as inspection done and I was not disappointed. They have a nice and specious waiting room that has heat and AC. Friendly and professional staff that is knowledgeable with any type of vehicle (They even had ambulances and police cars there). Not only did I get the parts changed quickly and inspection done without any issues, they also went out of their way to point out an issue that I had with the vehicle and what part to buy. If I was able to put 10 stars I would do it without any hesitation. Thank you Mike and team for being awesome!!

Took my car in one day and was told I had an issue with the front left wheel. I came back two months later and my front wheel was magically fixed. Sounds great, but surprisingly there was a more expensive problem, what gives? Obviously I'm being sarcastic. These guys are blatant liars and will take advantage as much as they can. I asked how much an oil change cost and instead of telling me they said they would check with their boss and proceeded to do it anyway while inspecting my car and tried to charge me full price. Very low integrity shop.

Best service. Guys there are got everthing done in good timing. Informed me of other things to look out about my car. Full service

Mike has been working on my cars for over 20 years. He and his team are the absolute best. He has always treated me incredibly fairly, goes out of his way to save me money and can be trusted. He is a really great guy as well as providing the best and most reliable service. You can't do better, especially in a field in which it's hard to find an honest and trustworthy mechanic.

As a woman who worries mechanics who will be condescending or just dishonest, I can say this place should give us all comfort. I haven’t had any work done on my car, but as a new NY resident had to have it inspected. They were so honest, informative, and helpful. The man who worked on our car told me to set a reminder on my phone for 11pm a from now to get it done again bc the city looks for people to fine. He was so funny and really helped me to understand what is required in the future so I don’t get fined in any way. He told me an hour, and it was done in an hour. Very honest, friendly, and just focus on doing good work.

Went in today for an inspection. Super friendly. Told me about 45 min. I walked down the the street for a burrito and came back 45 min later and they had everything ready to go. Trustworthy, very prompt and friendly service. Will be retuning for sure!!!!

I have been a 10 plus years customer at Mike’s - and all I can say is this: You can trust Mike and his crew a million times with your car! They even educate you about the repair and let you know what to watch out for! They used to be in Chelsea, now they are in Harlem, and I drive all the way uptown to just have Mike’s repair super folks do their miracle!!!

Very kind and straightforward mechanic. I came in after another mechanic told me I needed new shocks and Mike gave me a free diagnostic which told us that my car didn’t actually need work done. I really appreciated it and will definitely return!

My experience working with Mike was that he goes above and beyond for his clients. After my catalytic converter was stolen the dealership told me it would be 3 months to get a new one. Mike ran down an aftermarket converter that fits my car perfectly, worked with a tow company to pick it up from the dealer service center in Brooklyn and with my insurance and had my car ready in under a week. Moreover, he found an antitheft device that would fit and installed it for me. Mike was patient with me as I called him repeatedly to ask different quesito s and try to get a cover for the converter. He kept his word and did everything as he said he would. Absolutely phenomenal service. I would highly recommend him and I’ll return next time I have an issue. Thank you Mike!

Don’t ever go there. All my car needed was a bolt to be put in my steering fluid hose connector and he didn’t take more than 20 seconds looking at it and said that I need a new pump and wanted to charge me close to 500 dollars . Got it fixed with a help of a friend and it needed just a bolt nothing more. I would not recommend him to my enemies

Mike's Auto is great. The service is wonderful and all of the mechanics are straight shooters. They are truly trying to get your car back on the road fast and in the most safe way possible. If you are looking for a local mechanic shop, then look no further.

This place is excellent! Car was shaking on my commute into the city, figured I needed to get my tires balanced. Mike took me in right away and his staff rotated my tires free of charge! Overall, a great owner and great staff. Highly recommend.

Beware of fake reviews. Tried to charge me $300 for a $120 part, and $500 in labor for a $175 job. They lied about what needed to be done. I brought my vehicle to me regular mechanic and it cost less than 1/2. They kept my vehicle for a day and they did nothing. Lied about the timeframe. Didn’t put my car back together right. Missing parts. Don’t fall for their BS reviews on here. There was a lot of dissatisfied people there waiting for their cars to be finished, only for them to be told it’s not ready yet. I wasn’t the only one being lied to.

The rear bumper was destroyed, the length of the left side was battered, El Brujo pintor saved me a fortune and his turn around time was lightning fast. The man is a saint for anything looking for a cheap paint job not perfection but he does insurance claims much better.

I have only found two Saab dealerships in California who are worth going to and Mike is the BEST! Not only did he take time out of his busy day to work on my car on short notice, he fixed the small things I have been dreading getting fixed thinking they would cost a fortune and did not even charge for them! Mike said with a smile, "I didn't take any longer to fix that your other repairs." I have never encountered someone who truly loves his job and his customers so much! I know that Saabs are expensive to work on and a pain to do so, but Ed when out of his way to fix everything and for a reasonable price. I will never take my car anywhere else and am sending him all my friends regardless of the make of their car.

Mike's the owner. Onsite most of the time. He runs an honest shop, no BS no taking advantage of customers like me that dont know anything about cars. The only honest mechanic I know of in the city. He stands behind his work and his word. Rarity! His employees/mechanics reflect his character. They are also experienced , not rookies! I had my starter swapped out, his quote was half his competitors, problem with my transmission and turned out to be just the filter needed to be changed. Initially took my car to midas(the transmission pros) they quoted me $1,500 for a rebuild. I couldn't believe it. got my inspection, oil change and few minor things done there as well.

Honest brokers! It's so wonderful to have found a team of guys that are honest and really trying to help you with your auto repair. It sound corny writing it but I have been going here for years, for silly stuff, flat tire, inspection, weird noise and they ALWAYS help. Really, you can't go wrong. Just call them first, don't just show up and expect magic, they are good and people know it, its also a small garage so one or two repairs at a time so, you might have to wait if you just drop by.

I can confirm what the other reviews here suggest -- Mike's Auto Electric is a rare find in New York City -- a reliable, honest and friendly auto repair shop. I have been bringing my car to Mike's for several years, after being disappointed by the poor service and high prices at the official Toyota dealer. I just had my car's brakes replaced at Mike's. The work was done quickly, efficiently and at a reasonable cost. The car rides beautifully now. The fact that Mike and his mechanics are genuinely nice people is just icing on the cake. Here's hoping the developers don't take over Mike's lease on the rapidly gentrifying far west 30th street. But if that happens, I'll be going to Mike's other shop in Jersey City.

Mike is the most reasonable, honest and hard-working mechanic I've come across in my 20+ years of driving and getting my car fixed. I've only been here twice, but this guy Mike is the real deal. He has made every effort to do only what was needed on the car, and he went the extra mile to save me money on a part. I will be coming back here every time I need something done on my car.

I've taken my car here a few times for repairs. Twice they suggested I take it back to the dealer to check on a recall or warranty. Both times they were correct. Thy didn't charge me for the diagnostic. Another time, I brought an older car here which required about $3k worth of repairs. I declined the service as I decided to sell the car instead. Again, no charge on diagnostic. Very happy with their service so far. I will definitely come back in the future.

Made an appointment for vehicle inspection the day before. I get there are they are very timely and start my inspection when scheduled. It was a smooth process and passed but would definitely bring my car here for repairs. The people are very kind and courteous which makes it worth while for me.
