I took my car to Manhattan Auto Care for a transmission repair, and they did an excellent job. Rich and the team took really good care of everything and were great with their suggestions throughout the process. They explained things clearly and made sure the work was done right. My car is running like new again. Highly recommend!

I personally was a customer two times for different accidents in the same car personally I wouldn’t recommend anybody to take there car for any service to these people. They are sloppy Richard Is a very cocky and very rude individual as a person period.As being a boss you should have some type Of Video camera watching your workers in the basement. They have for respect for people’s cars my car was wrecked through it like a theft was looking for some items. Got my car back with more scratches on it then I had a major light issues My light will go off on the right side of my car. Richard was sending me back-and-forth to Brooklyn. The guy fixed it. Then the light will go off again. It was just so unprofessional and obviously they didn’t know what they were doing. Manhattan auto care will never get my respect again terrible business

Quality of workmanship was excellent - cannot tell where the damage was - have already received compliments from complete strangers! Work was completed promptly.

Called to ask a simple question in regards to getting a new tire. Dude was rude off the rip. Excuse me for being a woman and not knowing much of anything about cars but to be as dismissive as he was, I wouldn’t even want to give him my money. Customer service means everything. Thanks for nothing!

Our vehicle was not drivable after a multi-car accident, but Manhattan Auto Care made the car look good as new. They were communicative, efficient, & equipped to handle all our needs — which included acting as proactive advocates for us, insurance logistics & all.

Run from this place. This body shop is listed as a preferred vendor by my insurance company, but that doesn’t mean they do quality work. My wife picked up our 2017 Benz after a $15,000 repair, and I immediately noticed issues—uneven body lines and flawed paint. When I called, they were completely indifferent and just told me to “bring it back.” That didn’t sit right with me, so I took it straight to Mercedes. Turns out, they never replaced the internal parts they were paid to replace. After a month-long battle, they were forced to pay Mercedes $12,000 to fix it the right way. Bottom line—be very careful. Just because they’re on your insurance company’s list doesn’t mean they’re trustworthy.

IF I COULD RATE THIS PLACE A 0 I WOULD!!! Rude and way overpriced . I went in at 1:30pm (shop closes at 5pm) because of an overheating issue , the lady at the desk was very helpful and kind along with one of the mechanics at the shop and seemed they were going to help and fix the issue or at least check on whats up. she then called for her “boss” so i can explain the issue , the guy walks in with an attitude for some reason (i get it we all have problems, but leave them at home) then doesnt even ask me any questions regarding the issue , the only thing he says is “if you think we’re going to fix this today its not happening” . I shouldve walked away at that point but i figured the shop was closing soon (which was not, 3 whole hours till closing) so i asked him what time does the shop close and he responds with “i dont see why that matters” and walks out of the office. Theres nothing more pathetic and embarrassing than your own secretary and one of your workers having to apologize for you.

Manhattan Auto Care got the job done effortlessly and efficiently. I almost didn't recognize the car, the body work was so good. They had a small business, family vibe, which I respected and I knew my car was safe. Richard assisted me with the insurance liability which saved alot of headache. Just left location, Manhattan, auto body. Gentleman was not very helpful. Lady was on the phone not to professional. They're probably. The only shop here on the lower east side. Should do better when new customers coming in and asking questions. I didn't bring my car wasted a walk. If he really wanted to do business, he would have asked more questions. Zero stars. I had to put the one star For in order to post. Took photo from a distance, didn't wanna waste another walk going that way

When you pay top dollar for something you expect top dollar work and service. This is definitely NOT TRUE if you take your car here. There's not a lot of auto shops left in lower Manhattan, so when State Farm listed it as one of the places nearest me I decided to give them a try. What a mistake it has been. I own a 2013 Ford Focus ST that needed body work on drivers side quarter panel from being sideswiped when parked. The work somehow totaled up to almost 9k with deductible. No problem it’s an insurance claim. The problems came immediately after I took the car back. Driving out of the garage, the shifter cable mysteriously snapped, leaving the car unable to shift out of 1st or go into reverse. I asked Richard what happened he said he’ll take a look. He charged me $1000 to replace the cable with OE parts and labor and $140 diagnostic fee and $140 lift fee. This is like double what other places would charge normally… but I chalked it up to convenice and I needed my car right away. When I picked up the car the shifter now shifted thru all of the gears but now I can push the shifter past where it normally “slots” in, in gear. I thought that was weird and asked Richard to look at it. I was told this was “normal” and I shouldn’t push the level too far. Fast forward 6 months later, the cable snapped again this time while I was driving my mother around on Mother’s Day. I had to drive the car from Bayside Queens to Richard’s shop in first gear with no way to reverse, but slowly I made it. You’d think that Richard would honor this repair and address the problem but when presented with it again he tried to blame it on me for driving it “too hard or something” and will need to charge me $140 again for diagnostics. Mind you this is only 6 months from the time he repaired it. After much haggling he agreed to waive the fee, took a look at the car then said he would need to send it to his transmission guy in Brooklyn, with no mention of any other fee. Guy in Brooklyn (Miguel 247 56th st) seemed knowledgeable and reasonable and gave me a quote of $425 to fix it. I wasn’t happy about it, but I guess it had to be done. So I authorized the $425 but then next thing I know car gets returned back to Richard and he gives me a bill for $950+. Bill was $135 for parts then 3 hrs labor + $140 diagnostic fee + $140 lift fee. When I disputed the bill he said you either pay now or I will add the daily storage charge for each day it sits here. Bottom line is if you value your time and money AVOID this place like the plague! He will blame you for everything and nickel and dime you.

Richard and his crew (admin included) were amazing. Whether it was an email or a call I got updates about the insurance company payments and repairs. This place was referred to me by Allstate and my aunt and my uncle. Repairs complete and interior vacuumed. Thank you for the wonderful service!

I would highly recommend Manhattan Auto Care! They provide excellent professional service. My car looks like it was detailed and picked up with excellent communication. This is a professional, courteous, trustworthy and honest shop. I would not hesitate to refer the closest family to.

Excellent body shop, the owner Richard and team do great work. This is the second time they have repaired dents in my car, each time it looked like it was new. Painting was flawless. Richard provides provides on the spot, accurate and clear estimates - no surprises after the fact. The returned the car washed and cleaner than it was when it went in. Highly recommended.

My truck was hit while being legally parked. This was the first time this ever happened to me. I brought the truck to Manhattan Auto Care where I received excellent treatment! The owner, Richie, saw how upset I was, explained the process, kept in communication with me, and provided guidance every step of the way. Where to start... After a nice golf outing followed by a lovely trip visiting family in Long Island, we noticed that someone had sideswiped our car, which actually, was a borrowed car from our in-laws. Yikes. There was an obvious scratch on the side of the car and also a dent in the front as well. It just so happened that my in-laws were also preparing to trade the car in for a newer model that week. Panicked set in instantly when we discovered the very noticeable damage to the car and my next (panicked) call was to Manhattan AutoCare. The receptionist was so incredibly nice, which is rare in Manhattan especially when temperatures exceed 85 degrees, and explained that I should probably just bring the car in now if I was able. When I actually got to the office, Richard (the owner) came out to inspect the car and while I waited to hear the exorbitant estimate, I was surprised to receive an estimate that was actually affordable. I had to hug him to not break out in tears. I would also like to note that this is not an exaggeration, at all. Richard and his team fixed the Subaru that day, within hours, detailed the car and actually suggested an option that would be less expensive as it related to the repairs. When I tell you that the car looked good as new, believe me. I was so incredibly grateful that I had to send lunch. They truly are a really nice group of people and I'm glad that we have a place in the neighborhood that does quality work without breaking wallets, with an awesome attitude. We're bringing our other car here as well!

Finding a good mechanic is like finding a good man, once you get them, you better lock on. Unfortunately I can't put a ring on Manhattan Auto Care but I can be a loyal customer (Which I intend to do). The service for my car was great but the customer service from Richard and his team were beyond words. My car was involved in a hit and run which caused a busted tail light, that was covered by my insurance. Not only did my car look as good as new, their mechanic caught other issues and quoted me a great price to fix! Everytime I look at my bank account and see how much money I saved I can't help but drop it like it's hot, and because I saved so much I can afford a chiropractor so I can pick it back up. After one visit I am hooked and I know I have found my new car repair shop for life. Thank you Manhattan Auto Care!

First I want to start by saying I was a little hesitant on getting work done on my car again. Mainly because before this time around two weeks prior someone hit my car while it was parked. I had by far the worst experience imaginable. My car only had bumper issues. Which should of been straight forward. Replace the bumper and the components. But nope they had my car over a month. So I was out on car rental cost as well as paying out of pocket for the damage. Ontop of that they didn't replace everything they were supposed to. I won't put the shop name because I don't feel it's the proper thing to do. Karma takes control of that. So I ran across Manhattan Auto Care. I read the reviews and they seemed to be legit. I saw the owner was retired Law Enforcement so that was a plus. I had to have my car towed there. And I would say a few hours I received a call from a young lady. I sent over the necessary documents. And from there I started to receive text messages on the progress. I have never known any other place to keep you informed in such a convenient way. My car was supposed to be done on a specific day. But a few days earlier I received a text stating it would be two days more. That was fine with me because it gave me time to rearrange things around. Picked up my car on the new date and was blown away. Highly recommended.

I had body work done at this facility as a result a small car accident. This was the place the insurance company partnered with. The quality of the work was awesome and it was done quicker than expected. My car looks great and they returned it cleaner than I ever had it! At the end, I had a little glitch with my key fob (remote) and the owner was professional and made sure the problem was resolved with no hassle -- WHICH IT WAS. I was very happy with the service and quality. Would definitely recommend this place.

I had a great experience with Manhattan Auto Care. Most people never want to have to take their vehicle in for repairs, but they made the experience far more pleasant than I could have hoped for. They were recommended to me by my insurance company, and I am so glad they were. I dropped my car off on a Friday expecting it to take a week or more, and they were able to have it repaired and in perfect shape by Monday afternoon. They went above and beyond to communicate with me and keep me in the loop every step of the way. Richard could tell that I was concerned about the situation and he not only helped me through it, but offered amazing advice in navigating the situation with my car and insurance. I have so many great thing to say about MAC. I am just so thankful that I got so lucky in having a great team with Richard and everyone there. Five stars isn't enough for the job they did. My car looks and runs like brand new! I cannot recommend them enough. Thank you all!

As a woman and mother, finding a mechanic that is reliable and honest is so difficult, slime to none. This is not the case with Manhattan Auto Care. From the first time I came there for an emergency service, I knew that they were going to take care of me and my car. I had two last minute emergencies within the same week that occurred later in the day before closing, they did their best to accommodate me and take care of my car issues within an hour, almost instantaneously. They treated me like family there. I highly recommend this place for any one who lives or work in the area, or anyone else who willing to drive down to them.

The staff at Manhattan auto care are fantastic. You're always greeted with a smile. I felt so comfortable leaving my car was such a confident team. Rich the owner was super involved and let me know when the vehicle will be ready. Original estimate was gonna be over three weeks and they were able to do it in half that time. The work was amazing and the car was sparkling as it left their facility. Highly recommend! Richard is incredibly friendly and thorough. I immediately knew I was in good hands. He took the time to explain everything to me regarding my car that was hit while it was parked. They sent progress emails along the way so I was always in the loop. The shop is beautiful and the repair was flawless. Also, the car was cleaned and smelled lovely when I picked it up. Very happy I found this spot!
