it's all fun and games until it's past midnight and they're parked right in the middle of every residential area, grinding the garbage loudly enough to kill every resident in the area with their noise pollution. honestly, we need sanitation workers in order to thrive in society. however, does this require a post midnight roar of an engine waking up families instead of them simply grinding themselves in the grinder? sounds like a lot of trash taking itself out.

Drove over with a few bags of e-waste i’ve been hoarding over the years. A very friendly DSNY worker helped me out with sorting everything into the correct bins, recommended if you can take the time to go!

False advertising, I stopped by at 4:15 PM on this Saturday and everything was closed and the gates were all locked up. They are not open during these hours that are on the site.

Yes!! Take your old batteries here. Save the world, make it a better place, for you and for me, and the entire human race.

The place just works. Open only on Sat. There someone there at the space to ask question if you need help.

Dropped off a truck load of Tvs here, old batteries and a bunch of other varios waste. I wish it was open more often but the dedicated worker is very helpful.

Can't believe this actually exists! Amazing place to dispose of batteries and other stuff. Great.

If you are environmentally conscious, this is the place to bring things that might otherwise go into a landfill, such as alkaline batteries. It's a short walk from the F train stop at East Broadway (Madison St. exit)

Amazing how the whole Manhattan island has one place like this. No wonder batteries end on landfills.

Showed up on 2/12 to drop of rccyclables but it was closed - apparently due to Lincolns birtday. Make sure it not a holiday before you go.

This facility is closed until June 2021

Surprisingly clean and easy. Staffed by a polite and helpful guy. Only open 1 consistent day/week (plus some alternating days) so be sure to double check the hours. Otherwise, straightforward.
