We had a great experience at Open Road! As Europeans living in NYC we needed more guidance and Christina and the whole team were lovely and super helpful and efficient!
We shopped online 'till we dropped! We found the exact color and trim package Jetta we wanted (2024 Sport 6MT Pyrite Silver) at Open Road Manhattan Volkswagen. It was last one with this configuration for sale in the NorthEast United States... So we picked up the phone, and talked to a genuine person, Mario.
The first phone call guaranteed our business. We are grateful Mario was the one that answered my call. Mario took the time to ask questions and understand our situation buying from central new york state, and went out of his way to make it a pleasantly underwhelming experience. Not one other delaerhsip of the dozen i spoke to this year wete this kind. Eventually, We negotiated when we were ready, how we wanted to as buyers, before even getting there. Mario was the first salesmen to EVER introduce me to the sales manager in on our phone converations! Talk about transparency!
There's no games in the sales department here. Doing business with Mario and Open Road felt like there was no middle man and that all parties were benefitting from the sale. We had a great vehicle to trade and Open Road gave us a fair trade in value for our old Jetta, and kept their world on the trade value, sight unseen (only pictures). I trusted Mario when we left for the four hour drive to Manhattan to complete the sale, that it would be as smooth as butter. It was great, every team member was kind and understanding of us coming from out of town. We showed up an hour before close on a Saturday. Thank you for staying until 8pm, an hour AFTER close to finish our financing and work out the computer issues on your end. You put your customer befor your family and i would never expect that from anyone. After Mario, we spoke to Jose who sold us an extended warranty thru Volkswagen, not third party. I recommend you look into it, very worth it. We couldn't be happier with our new vehicle and just how much Open Road VW bent over backwards to keep us happy, informed, educated, and on the same page. The free coffee was a great addition.
Buying a car can be stressful. Negotiating can be daunting. Ask for Mario, he's down to earth and deserves the business. He will listen to you and help you thru the experience. He will not just try to get you sign a paper like most salesmen. He Will selflessly engage in seeing things from your point of view, and speak the truth, and help you rationalize the decision making process. I can't yell you the amount of dealerships that try to bait and switch, or have promised me a car is available, or coming in soon,that doesn't exist when I get there, or was "just sold" between 8pm last night and 8am this morning. We will be returning to open Road auto group In the future by our own choice, and recommend them to any buyer. They will do their absolute best, and that's hard to come by nowadays. Take the train or fly into town, and drive out in your brand new car from Open Road Auto Group. Thanks Mario, Jose, and Elias. Keep up the good work and mature practices. You give new car dealerships a good name, and represent VW well.
Once I entered this establishment, I was immediately greeted by Jeff, he was very warm and inviting. Showed me around and answered all of my questions. Came back the next day and purchased my Tiguan. Jeff and Nyiem, are awesome!!!

Terrible dealership, left my car outside with the windows open, terrible communication, service center is completely incompetent. Brought in my car for a leak in the tail light, after explaining the issue over and over and they left my car outside I took it to Staten Island where the leak was fixed and I was given a loaner car. And on a side note this dealership keeps flagging my review and getting it taken down so every couple of weeks I have to post the same review over and over again. Do not take your car to this dealer.
BUYER BEWARE…….. I purchased a car here eight weeks ago, and I still have yet to receive my plates, my title or anything for the car. I continuously have to call them because they never reach out to me about anything. I keep hearing yes it’s in the works and sorry after I call all the time or text my salesperson.
It’s been eight weeks and I’m driving with an illegal temporary plate because this business cannot get me what I paid cash for. Very unsatisfied with the customer experience and the lack of follow up.
Please look at the reviews I leave for others. I never leave a bad review. You have to really do a bad job or treat me really poorly for me to leave you a bad review. This company has been successful at that.
My wife purchased her first veh, a Atlast Cross Sport 2024. I knew from the onset of entering the dealership that our experience would have been memorable. We were immediate greeted as we walked in, offered refreshments and introduced to our sales guy, Jeff. His knowledge and professionalism is what did it for us. We had an enjoyable experience at VW Manhattan! Both me and my husband were welcomed and treated great the second we walked in. Our Sales Consultant Tom H was knowledgeable and went above and beyond for us. Steve K also helped us out a lot throughout the process. This dealership was a great environment to be around and we are so happy that we purchased our first family vehicle with them!
Excellent place for services and buying new cars. I've been dealing with this place for some years always had a good experience. The service manager Danielle she is the best, very professional and such a sweetheart. The mechanics are great as well they get the job done. When I trade in my volkswagen best believe I'm coming here! They have a customer 4life!
Typical dealership trying to upsell absolutely unnecessary “fixes”. Dropped my car for oil change, got notified that my hood latch is inoperable, needs immediate attention, and the agent calls heavily emphasizing that while they were able to open the hood, nobody else can and if I ever need any service or break down, someone will break my hood latch because it’s inoperable, it cannot be opened. Obviously, none of it is true. Absolutely no issue with the hood latch, it opens smoothly for the first try, but if I would not have done it just before the oil change, maybe I would have believed them and ordered the totally unnecessary change. Seriously, faking unopenable hood and even posting a video of a guy “trying” to open the hood “unsuccessfully”? It literally takes one second to open it with no problem whatsoever.
I can't believe i can buy a vehicle in Manhattan. Thank you Cristian. A very nice guy. Very professional for their vehicle. Very good service. They Also accept trade in with good price. We make a win win deal in a week.
Ask for Jeff! We recently bought our first car at VW - we worked with Jeff who was amazing. We don’t live in Manhattan and travelled in for the day to test drive a certified pre-owned Tiguan; Jeff made the process so easy, and we felt like he was looking out for us at every turn. Jeff worked with us to get what we felt was a good value for the vehicle we were trading in, he handled all of the paperwork in record time so that we could leave that day in a new car, and save us a trip back into the city. I would highly recommend VW Manhattan, and asking for Jeff specifically!
Two visits to VW Manhattan while on the quest to find another vehicle since my lease is soon to end. Not a single sales representative approached me. I walked both floors of the show room, nothing. Walked out, hopped back in my car as they lost a potential customer.

This a late post but love them and love my Atlas. Fair deal and honest people. I thought they would ripped me off since is Manhattan after all. Not at all best deal I got and believe I looked just about every place in New Jersey. I highly recommend them.
What a great experience ! It was my first time buying a car in Manhattan and I was very reluctant. Prior to my visit I did my homework and I new exactly what car I wanted. Even if I came prepared I still had a few questions. My salesman was Fantastic! Jeff guided me all the way without any pressure. We tested drive the car he was very nice and knew everything about it. Once it was time to close the deal he got me the best deal I could have imagined! If you are on the market for a Volkswagen or simply for a new car stop by this dealership and ask for Jeff. You will be in very good hands !
Came in originally to look at a non-VW car and Justin White, my sales associate there, opened my eyes to some more options. I didn’t ever feel pressured and he went out of his way to help me find exactly what I was looking for. Very happy with my car.
Went for my 30,000 mile service and on top of paying $450 for it , they came up with extra charges for my brake pads (which were in good condition) and my tires (which supposedly were not balanced). All in all I left paying $2000 for service on my pretty new golf. Thought I had given them enough money when I bought the car there. Unreal what they get away with.
