Atmosphere was great! The service awesome! The tiki mugs outstanding! The food incredibly good! You should check out this place and you won’t regret it
Bartender was a nice lady and the tiki mugs were cute. Had a lovely time chatting and listening to music. Drinks were sweet and fun. Seeing the old slushie machine was neat.
Came by for 5 minutes. Took 2 shots and the bartender Joe was so sweet and nice I would definitely have to make a trip back. Loved how welcoming he was soon as I walked in.
Went to attend my best friend's birthday party after work. Had a diet Gatorade with me for health reasons. The man at the door was very rude and told me that I could not enter with it. I could not attend my friends birthday and did not appreciate the contentious , angry, unprofessional "bouncer". Won't be returning there in the future. We were a group of 3 that did plan on purchasing cocktails.
Fun bar, a little hard to get served on busy nights, but they have fun shows in the back. LOVE the theme for the bar, and you can buy a tiki mug if you want to (I got a little pig). Definitely a fun bar!

Photo booth was cute. 7$ for one token to use it. Bartender told me if the token given doesn't work, there would be no refund.
Drinks from the menu were good. I got the Zombie, tastey and strong. I asked for 5 shots of white tea shots and 1 cocktail. The shots were pink so I asked what it was and the bartender said she made whatever shots she wanted but still charged me what I feel was pricey given I didnt order that. Total was over $100. I still tipped given it was a farewell party and didn't want her to have to waste the shots. Over all experience a 3/5 for me.
This is a classic East Village bar staple- a lively rock n roll tiki bar with live bands, djs, tiki mug cocktails, monthly artists market and more. They’re super welcoming to birthdays and private events in the back room. I have hosted countless birthdays and dance parties in the back.
Fun punk inspired tiki bar in the East Village area. Drinks are old school, classic tiki style, not modern "craft" cocktail style, as it comes with being around for more than 2 decades. Our bartender was super welcoming and hospitable and the drinks were delicious!
Being able to order Chinese food from nextdoor was just an added bonus!
Great experience. My boyfriend and I came here for the music and atmosphere. We are fans of old school reggae and hoped to hear some reggae music. They hosted a “Subway to Skaville” event, hosted by DJ Ryan, where you will hear different types of ska, reggae, dub, and rocksteady. Our server Josh was attentive and friendly. We saw three live bands in the back of the bar. They were very good. We had a great time. I guess my only complaints would be that drinks are pricey, there’s not food, and I was hoping to hear more 1960’s reggae (very old Reggae music, some artists being Desmond Dekker, Alton Elis, and Sugar Minott.) Other than that, we had a great time. I highly recommend visiting this tiki bar! ??️???
I love having a tiki bar close to home; the drinks are excellent, though pricey. It is a tiki dive bar, and the soundtrack is hard rock, which wouldn't be my first choice.
When we were there, there was a rock band playing in the back room (with no noise cancellation) and a DJ playing different rock music in the main room, and it was a cacophony of noise.
Can't say enough good things about this bar. It's close to the subway, and several paid parking options. The atmosphere is unadulterated tiki, with tacky paintings of nude women, weird art and retro vibes. The simple but effective sound system in the quaint back room for live music did the job well. Drinks were very fairly priced for a NYC watering hole. We got there earlier in the afternoon before the club got busy and the bartenders were as friendly as they were fetching. As the bar filled up later, they kept up the same prompt service while remaining courteous. We ordered the chicken skewers and dumplings to help take the edge off the strong drinks and were surprised at how delicious the food was. The icing on the cake being the Subway to Skaville show that happens on the first Friday of every month. DJ Ryan Midnight hosts local and touring ska bands for an evening of fun, raucous, upbeat music. Otto's will be a NYC staple for us on every visit.

- for quite a few drinks the mugs (including the souvenir one) are not available so you have to drink out of a normal pint glass. not ideal for the tiki experience.
Great Lower East Side bar and music venue with a chintzy tiki theme (I mean that in a loving way haha). I'd seen many bands I follow played shows here, but I just decided to stop in for a couple drinks on Halloween 2023. It was a good time and I'd definitely go back. The Naughty Nell specialty cocktail is tasty and is great for jump-starting or quickly ending a night out. They serve food from the Asian dumpling place next door, it seems. Smelled awesome, but I didn't order any. Maybe next time!
Stumbled upon this New York tiki dive bar, and boy, did it feel like uncovering a hidden world. The mix of oddball decor and an even odder mix of patrons was oddly charming. The drinks? None of that watered-down stuff – these were bold concoctions that could shake anyone out of their comfort zone. The tunes? A perfect kind of weird that had everyone grooving. If you're after an offbeat night that doesn't toe the line, give this joint a shot.
Friendly and attentive staff. One of their tiki drinks was probably one of the best tasting drinks I've had. They also have live music, but be warned it can get a bit loud. Crowd tends to skew older

Have been here a few times in the past (not for a few years) and came here to celebrate New Year’s Eve and had a blast. The place consistently has an awesome vibe thanks to the great staff, DJs and live bands. The Tiki drinks are amazing which is why this place is loved. This isn’t a hole you come to drown your sorrows- you come here to celebrate and have a great time.
What a great bar! Great vibes, good music, staff is super friendly, the drinks were good -we had beer and one of the tiki cocktails and we took the mug- and they also have live music. We went on a open mic night and atmosphere is amazing.

Cool tiki bar akin to trader Sam’s at Disney world. Cool cups with decent cocktails. Pricing is not too bad. 17 for the cocktail with 7 extra if you want to take the cup home. They had small bite to eat too, I got some edamame which was salted and good. My wife and I spent 80 dollars for two cocktails, 2 bud lights, edamame.
Fantastic place to go for Live Music, Live Comedy and the best Tiki Drinks in NYC. The staff is both super professional and very friendly. The Tiki drinks are well worth it and pack quite the punch. The interior is super Retro, it is like an old pharmacy/soda shop. I have both watched and performed Stand Up Comedy in the back room and also attended events there. It’s a very very cool place indeed.
This was on m bucket list for my NYC visit and it didn't disappoint. Really great cocktails and a surprising great (and quirky) open mic session by the local talent.
We had fun! Would have been five stars if their tiki drinks had crushed ice. Not a deal breaker, just an observation. AMAZING dumplings and so affordable! Also, it's only $7 to keep the tiki mug -- it's the best deal on a cool souvenir we came across! We rode the subway to get here and back, so it's not hard to find. Fun music and fun crowd.

Drinks are cool, they are based in specific names and tiki mugs. Strongly recommend the one that glows in the dark and the volcano with fire in it!
Live music is very nice, punk / rockabilly bands with a very interesting vibe. You can dance and have a good time!

The bartender was really rude and the drinks are all about $14 each, they tasted ok but there was hardly any alcohol in them. We did see a local comedy show that was hilariously terrible. I would skip this place next time. Decor was pretty cool though.
his is one of few places in New York which still offering a live music and gives opportunity to young musicians to show themselves. And visitors can see how music is developing nowadays. Besides you can have great cocktails, beer and wine in this place, which is very nicely decorated. Every time we come here we enjoy a lot. Thanks to the old school bars! Unfortunately this type of places getting less and less in NYC
Great drinks. Good prices if you decide to return the cup at the end of the drink you get about $10 back which makes the prices pretty good. The zombie was strong and delicious.
