Conveniently located with easy subway access. The rooms might feel little old, however, they were comfy enough. The hotel employees are super helpful. Special thanks to Clara for providing good info and recommendations!

Nice hotel. The doormen were always very pleasant and helpful. Desk staff were also very courteous. The room I had was adequate. King bed and TV with two closets. Smaller bathroom, but that's midtown Manhattan for ya. I had a Keurig machine in my room and fridge- thought it was standard, but soon learned it was not. Pretty much you got lucky or it was first come first serve for these appliances, including a microwave. I stayed about two weeks and asked for a microwave nearly everyday of my stay until the day I got lucky and got one. They said they put my name on a list but I think it was really the staying on top of it that got me the microwave. I feel like in a Marriott hotel (Autograph collection) in 2026, every room should have these three appliances. Apart from that all the staff I interacted with were so friendly. The room was clean and did not smell. Heating and cooling worked well. It was a little dim even with all the lamps on. The bed was comfortable as were the pillows for the most part. The noises from the hotel were loud and obnoxious. I used ear plugs when I could (there was a pair provided in the bedside table as well for "NY's loud noises"). Breakfast was offered for a fee. At the time of my visit it was a buffet for $36. I did not partake in this therefore have no comment. The entirety of the hotel itself, the common areas and lobby, were clean and well maintained. Another annoyance to me was that ice machines were only on certain levels. On about six various levels out of the 27 stories. On site access to the crunch gym downstairs was nice. I only went once because of time constraints. Small gym but has enough to get a good workout in. Friendly staff as well. The hotel was located in a great spot in midtown, next to a subway station as well as Grand Central. Quick access to many common sites. Overall would stay again, but would be frustrated if I didn't have a fridge or microwave so I would opt for a hotel that would guarantee me such.

Extremely disappointed with this hotel’s service and negligence. I left expensive Lululemon clothes in my room after switching rooms. Housekeeping did not check the room properly and rented it to the next guest right away. Even after I notified the hotel immediately, they did NOT retrieve my items from the next guest upon check‑out, and my clothes were taken. Staff promised compensation but have ignored all my emails since I left New York. No accountability, no follow‑through, terrible guest service. Do not trust leaving any personal items here.

We finally reached them after a bill issue. It’s not easy because they don’t provide any mail and they’re not reactive. Make sure to check carefully your credit fees before you leave because there are some mistakes. Credit breakfast, it’s only 35$ per room not per person like we understood when we arrived. So, it would have changed the way we consume. Otherwise, the location is well located if you want to explore New York.

I was in town for business and found this to be a pretty typical NYC experience for the price point. Through squinted eyes the hotel looks as though it's trying to be modern and stylish. However, there's a great deal of wear and tear to be seen everywhere (e.g. lobby and restaurant furniture and carpeting, in-room furniture [headboards, desk chairs, deeply stained bathroom tiles], elevators, etc.) The rooms are NYC-tiny, without even space to open the luggage rack - thankfully there was a chest of drawers. The furnishings, carpeting, drapery, and bathroom show years of wear and tear, which they try to spruce up with art work. Oddly though, basics are lacking such as tissues and season-appropriate bedding (e.g. the comforter was essentially a blanket). The worst however is the nickel and diming that occurs here. Internet crawls unless you pay a fee to upgrade. Fridges and coffee makers are removed unless you pay an extra fee. Some rooms are offered a food and beverage credit, which is rather arbitrarily applied (we were in a group and some received it and others did not despite using the same booking link) and only applies to food from the on-site restaurant and the Crunch fitness on the lower level since the hotel has no stand-alone gym. It does not apply to snacks from the hotel gift shop and depending on the hotel employee checking you out random rules may prevent it from being applied (e.g. it can't be used on check out day). The restaurant is definitely not worth it and far better deals can be had for the $36.79 charged for a hospital cafeteria-esque breakfast buffet. Additionally and oddly some of our group also had "resort fees" tacked onto their invoices, but not all. Perhaps find another place to stay.

Wonderful experience, thanks to the Director. We realized upon check-in that our reservation, prepaid with Bonvoy points months ago, had not been correctly processed: the room was available, but we had to pay. Only thanks to the great courtesy and professionalism of the Director of the Lexington Hotel, Mr. Yasir, did our vacation go smoothly. The misunderstanding was cleared up upon our return to Italy, with the charges fully refunded to the guarantee card. People make the difference.

I stayed here before, but the hotel has gone seriously downhill. The rooms are dingy, small, and increasingly rundown. My first room was right next to an elevator bank, and there was a loud clanging noise every time the elevator went up or down. The phone in the room did not work, and the pleather on the desk chair was peeling off. I requested to be moved, but the new room also had issues. It smelled strange, the heater was noisy, and the furniture was in bad shape. Overall, the rooms feel poorly maintained and worn out. I was also asked to show my room key when walking into the hotel, which felt uncomfortable and unnecessary. I was well dressed and in professional attire, and I have never experienced this at any other Marriott property. It left me feeling singled out for the color of my skin. At this point I’d rather stay in a nicer Marriott property near noisy Times Square than deal with this sad and rude environment.

During my stay on December 20–21, a female housekeeping staff member entered our occupied room at 11:30 PM without knocking while my partner and I were fully naked. Instead of immediately leaving, she continued into the room and removed the refrigerator and coffee pot. We felt violated and unsafe. The incident was reported immediately and acknowledged by management the next day, who stated the room would be comped. However, because the stay was prepaid, the hotel has refused to issue any refund, even after Capital One contacted them directly. This is a major breach of privacy and completely unacceptable for a Marriott Autograph Collection property. Mistakes happen—but refusing accountability afterward is not okay. I would not stay here again.

Many issues, but would stay again At first, I was very happy with my room. Elite Members Floor. Nicely decorated. The hotel itself is nice. I got the Hemmingway suite. I felt special. And then I went to the bathroom and found hair all in the bathtub. There’s no way this bathtub has been washed. There’s hair in the drain and there’s hair all on the sides. There’s hair on the floor of the tub. This is disgusting. I expected a whole lot more from a Marriott property. I am a frequent customer of Marriott. This is embarrassing. I am very unhappy right now. I’ve made a report to the hotel, let’s see if this is remedied since the manager was VERY unhappy with my report. Edit 1… dead bug on the bathroom floor too. Pic added. Edit 2... Adding 2 stars back after the manager sent housekeeping immediately to clean the tub and floor. Edit 3... woke, ready for coffee. All the coffee pods are decaf + plus one chamomile tea. Had to get temporary dressed to go down to Starbucks before I was ready for the world I think I'm being Punk'd. Edit 4... The heat didn't come on. Set at 75, increased from 72 to 73 overnight. Room was drafty, so it felt cold. Edit 5... The fire alarm came on at 1am. No announcement in PA. Got dressed when I heard the fire trucks. We evacuated slowly through overcrowded but calm stairwells. They announced on the PA it was a false alarm as I got to the 2nd floor from the 23rd. There was several hundred people waiting for elevators to go back up. Two elevators out of service. Dozens waited in the lobby for an hour on the elevator line to thin to get back upstairs. Door to stairwell locked so had to use elevators. Additional notes... The bed is very cozy, refrigerator gets cold, ample space lots of power outlets, and charging ports. Ample desk space, but no desk chair. Two comfortable chairs and a big dressing mirror.

Great hotel lobby and a stellar location! The room beds are super comfy and the pressure in the showers are great. BUT, the hotel building is old and in need of renovation. We were in a room on an elite member upper floor. Inside the room, the paint was peeling off the walls by the windows and the leather chair to the room desk was falling apart with leather almost chips flaking off of it. The room had an old ciggerette smell which had been attemped to be over run with a super loud fan that was on when we entered the room. Lucky we were able to switch the fan off. To top it off, when we were there 2 of 4 of the elevators were out of order so it took 20 mins to get down to the lobby from your room. I love Mariotte hotels but this one is pretty rough, espically for an atuograph collection.

This hotel was absolutely amazing. It’s honestly located in the best area of Manhattan, with so many touristic attractions nearby just to walk to. We stayed from New Year’s Eve and a couple days into the beginning of January. The credits we received extra per day for food and beverage, laundry, and free gym access were such a nice surprise from the hotel. I would highly recommend coming here in the winter time or in the summertime, you can go wrong with either. The room we had was beautiful, spacious, and had a somewhat nice view from the 28th floor. The beds were super comfortable and we slept great with no interruptions. One issue we did have was the plumbing. Out of the four days we were there, two of the days our toilet was clogged, and we had to call the front desk to come in and fix the issue. There are Metro stations nearby, which are a five minute walk or an eight minute walk. It is very easy to get around and you can’t get lost. There is also a cute small store in the lobby where you can find basic essentials for purchase if you run out of them. We were also given free water. We were there every day, two free city, bike passes, and free Wi-Fi. Overall, highly recommend this location and hotel, you can’t go wrong!

Do not come to this hotel. After 7 HOURS we finally got into our room. We showed up early and asked if our room was ready. They explained not yet, like any other person we understood and waited and saw some New York sites. A few hours later we come back and talk to a front desk lady and she explained they will get our room ready soon. A few more hours go by we talk to another lady and she said she would talk to a manager and after her going into a back room for 15 mins leaving us with no explanation. Eventually she comes out explains it’ll be 30 mins. Time goes on and eventually we asked MULTIPLE times and finally got an answer. If there was something wrong with our room or wasn’t available for a certain reason I would have rather known then being told only a little bit longer. Wasted a whole day of seeing New York. Very disappointed do not recommend. On top of that we had to stay at the hotel due to loss of luggage from airlines so we would have really appreciated being able to get in room early instead of sitting in lobby all day. I understand the room may not have been ready but I expected better service and nicer desk ladies. To add our vent randomly fell down and pouches of scent beads came out and spilled??? We called Down to front desk to get somebody to fix it, we called 4 times and finally somebody came up after an hour of being told someone was coming. And finally to top it off there was a lot of sounds in the walls and you could hear pipes at certain times and people talking.

Despite of the poor reviews we read, we had a great stay in Lexington hotel. It is an old hotel but location is great, not too crowded but still close to some NY iconic place, only few blocks to Rockefeller Center, Grand Central, Time Square, 5th Ave etc. Room is small but clean and amenities works well. Room is cleaned everyday as well. You can ask for coffee machine if you'd like to and they will deliver it to your room. Some great restaurant and cafe within walking distance. Staff are friendly and always do their best to make sure you have a great stay. Elevators work fine and there is no line at all when we're there. There is also Starbucks connected to the hotel. Overall, we are happy during our stay and for sure will come back

After reading a lot of recent poor reviews I was pleasantly suprised with the hotel and stay. Yes it's an older hotel, but clean and very cozy. When booking I've mentioned that we will be celebrating my daughter's 18th BD. We've got early check in (although the hotel was busy), 18th floor and cake and chocolates in the room. It was very nice. Breacfast was delicious and included with our package. Great variety of food. Complimentary bottled water. Great location of the hotel. Not too busy area but close to everything. Overall great stay!

As a loyal Marriott Titanium member, I never imagined I would consider switching to Hilton—but after this stay, I truly am. From the moment we arrived, the experience was disappointing. Check-in was a nightmare, and the staff at the front were extremely rude and unhelpful. Our room was not ready at the time we were told it would be and ended up being four hours late. My only preference on file is a high floor, which was completely ignored, as we were placed on a low floor instead. To make matters worse, the room temperature was unbearable. The heat was blasting nonstop, and despite setting the thermostat to 60°, the room stayed at 80°. We had to contact maintenance three times. On the third visit, we were told it was “fixed,” only to realize they had simply turned the heat off entirely. As a result, we froze during our final night—right in the middle of winter in New York City. We were also explicitly told that our room would be half off due to these issues. That adjustment never appeared on our bill. Since then, I’ve tried repeatedly to dispute the charges, but no one has returned my calls. I am incredibly upset and disappointed. This stay fell far below the standards I expect as a long-time, loyal Marriott Titanium member, and it has seriously made me reconsider where I choose to stay in the future.

First impressions were very positive—the lobby is beautiful and the hotel looks great when you walk in. Unfortunately, that didn’t carry through to the room, which was noticeably dirty, particularly along the skirting boards. At check-in, we were asked to pay a $300 deposit. When we questioned this, the receptionist said he could reduce it to $200 as a “special offer.” We paid this and were told it would be refunded upon checkout, which we were fine with as we understand how deposits work. When checking out, the receptionist confirmed that as long as the room was fine, we would receive the full deposit back. However, only $0.01 was refunded. We know the room was left in good condition, aside from the general dirt that was already present on arrival. Despite sending two follow-up emails, we haven’t received any response. The hotel is in a good location and looks nice at first glance, but between the cleanliness issues and the unresolved deposit, the overall experience was disappointing. Definitely would not stay here again.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but after staying here multiple times, I will not be coming back. As a Marriott Bonvoy Elite member, don’t expect anything special at this hotel. What is the most disappointing is the customer service—I didn’t even have any issues while staying here but they are miserable and rude. Even when checking in and trying to be friendly, they are barely responsive and quite unfriendly. I didn’t have significant room issues other than the tub not draining properly, but I figured it wasn’t worth calling. I also didn’t use the blow dryer because the lights flickered for ten seconds in the bathroom every time I turned it on. Housekeeping staff is lovely though and provided me some extra towels when I needed them. Elevators take forever in the morning too. As someone who travels for work to New York a lot, there are too many other hotels with much better service that I can stay at for me to come back. Only plus is that it is a very convenient location. **UPDATE** I have had nothing but issues getting incorrect charges fixed and refunded. I cannot get in touch with anyone at the hotel. I've emailed accounting FOUR times and called Marriott Bonvoy twice to issue a complaint. AVOID THIS HOTEL AND PAY A LITTLE MORE FOR BETTER CUSTOMER SERVICE!

Very disappointed experience. I’m gonna quiet the whole Marriott service. Nothing was provided in the room on the first day of arrival. Nothing. Not even a soap. We cannot even find the free WiFi information provided on the keycard. 2 out of 5 elevators was not operating and it literally took 20 minutes in line to get into an elevator and you have to get on a flight going up to get down. These are not even the worst part. The room service lost my 18 months old baby’s first emotional attached pillow and he’s not sleeping very well. They told us that they outsourced their laundry service and there’s Nothing they can do about it. Update: after we argued and the house keeping manager helped us found the pillow so I’m updating the rating.

Very disappointing Hotel experience. Nice lobby but from there on everything goes south. Every day very long lines infront of the elevators sinve only half of them are working. Longest wait time was 15 minutes. When entering the room you will immediately see how dated and used everything in the room is. Chairs are dirty, walls are scratched and have wholes and the curtains are completely missing. No coffee or tea in the room. Not sure how this can be a four star experience. If you can choose another hotel. The Lexington is for sure not worth the money.

I arrived after a long morning of travel. My room wasn’t ready yet, which is understandable, but I had specifically come by to drop my luggage because I have a back injury and couldn’t carry it around the city. Despite this, they almost didn’t let me store my bags at all—and then informed me there was a $3 luggage-storage fee, which feels unreasonable given that I’m spending over $500 per night for a very basic room. What made it even more disappointing is that I’m a Platinum Elite member, yet the service didn’t reflect that in any way. They wouldn’t take a card or charge it to my room—only cash, which most people don’t carry anymore. Later that evening, when I returned, there was no bellman and no acknowledgment or apology for the earlier inconvenience. Instead, the only comment was that they would make sure to charge my room later for the $3. Wow thanks for confirming to charge me $3 after I’ve spent thousands on this company. It’s unbelievably petty considering the price point of this hotel. The rooms are also below average. It’s crazy to me what they think they can charge here. I’ve stayed in way better NY Marriott properties. I frequently come to NY for work and will not come here again.
Dec 11, 2025 -
The hotel is beautiful the location is really good, but for the price I was expecting a better room and breakfast service. The room had a slight smell and felt a bit small. The breakfast was the same for three days in a row and the options were very limited. Another thing I didn’t like was the nightly bar fee, even if you don’t use the bar, you still have to pay for that service. On top of that, the bar bill automatically includes an 18% service charge without asking, and then they still ask for an additional tip.
Dec 04, 2025 -
The Fine: Rooms are serviceable. Great location. The "What were they thinking?": There are no shower curtains on the tub. So you take a shower and the entire bathroom floods. The Rest: Service is quite honestly horrible. I had a package delivered there. Their package room is only open 9-4. But the one and only guy who can get in takes an hour long break 2-3. So it took two days to get it back. I also left something at the room when I had to check out early. I've been calling and emailing for a month and absolutely no response from them.
Dec 03, 2025 -
Surprised about these negative reviews. In New York City, you have to pay an inordinate amount of money to get a large expansive room. So the room was a fairly standard size, but very efficient in what it had to offer. This hotel, symbolizes old world glamour with a lot of detailed finishing touches. In fact, Joe DiMaggio, and Marilyn Monroe lived here at one point. The location is marvelous, the staff went above and beyond, and it was super convenient for everything we had to do in the Midtown area. All in all, a great experience. We will return to this hotel for sure.

I was very pleasantly surprised by my stay at the Lexington Hotel! The rooms are small (true of nearly every hotel in NYC) however the closet was very deep and the dresser was just large enough for my partner and I to unpack. Perfect sized room for two people - any more would have been a bit of a stretch. Same is true for the bathroom - small but just enough shelves & storage to unpack. Great water pressure in the shower and no issues with hot water. Heating & AC worked as expected. Housekeeping was consistent, refreshing towels and emptying trash on a daily basis was so helpful! The elevators were very efficient and reliable, never had any issues getting in or out of our room. The location is great! Super walkable to the theater district and very fun to be in close proximity to 5th Ave, Rock Center, and the SE corner of Central Park. Overall a great stay, would come back and would recommend to a friend!

I worked in the hotel industry for 13 years, (Starwood International), and stayed at the Lexington 2 days ago. The $3 per bag (cash only) to hold your luggage is ridiculous. We were told that our rooms would be ready early, (1pm), but they were not ready until the regular checkin time at 4 which I do understand. When we tried to get dressed, the electricity in the bathroom and by the entry door went out. The staff very quickly had the breaker reset, but then it went out again in about 10 minutes. This time we had maintenance come up after the breaker had been reset a second time and were told that we could not use the hair dryer in the bathroom as it would cause the breaker to blow! We were not using the hair dryer either time, but that is not the issue - this is a hotel and we should be able to use the hair dryer that is provided. Since there is no mirror by the desk, we could not even use the hair dryer there. There was a large mirror by the entry door, but the power there did not work either. The furniture and walls were dirty and stained, the bathroom sink would not drain, the electric eye that flushes the toilet did not work, etc. None of the above things are acceptable and the electrical issues are dangerous. The bar was very nice, and the Starbucks in the hotel was a very nice addition; especially since the rooms did not have coffee makers. I assume this may be because of the electrical problems. The complaint line in the lobby was so long, we did not bother to attempt to ask to be moved although the cleaning staff had offered it. We had two rooms for 2 nights and there were multiple issues in both - lights bulbs only staying lit for 2 or 3 minutes and both rooms just old and dirty. That said, the lobby is beautiful and all the staff we encountered were very nice, but I would never stay there again and do not recommend it to anyone.
Oct 20, 2025 -
There was a large bug on my bed (see photo), which makes me question how clean and insect-free the rooms really are. During my stay, only one elevator was operational, often resulting in long lines and delays getting to my room. I also requested a pair of slippers at check-in, but I only received them after following up five times. Overall, it didn’t seem like the hotel cared about guest satisfaction or made any effort to ensure a pleasant stay. I definitely won’t be returning and do not recommend this hotel.

Really enjoyed my stay at The Lexington Hotel. Yes, rooms are small - it is NYC - but mine was in great condition. The room stayed properly temp control (still using AC in October!). Found the shower water pressure very relaxing. Bed was comfy as well. I am a gym rat and enjoyed my visit to Crunch Fitness which is complimentary for hotel guests. Would definitely return on an upcoming work trip.

This hotel is not a 4 star. This is a 3 star at best. Some of the front desk staff are nice but is hit or miss. The room was very dirty. The only redeeming factor was that the bed was very comfortable. They also charge $3 per bag to hold your bags even if you Marriott bonvoy elite statuses. I the highest one is the only one exempt. Monetarily that didn’t matter it is just a surprise considering the expectation one would have with a supposed 4 star hotel. I will never be staying here again and wouldn’t recommend to anyone.

The Lexington Hotel is an old soul, with old bones, but a young and vibrant spirit. First time staying here but was pleasantly surprised with how much I enjoyed the property. A short walk to grand central, the Lexington is well located in NE midtown. Plenty of good dining options in the area. The rooms are relatively palatial in size by current standards and clean, beds are comfortable, housekeeping was on point for me. However, the rooms do give “pre war” vibes. The lobby is a hub of activity with a beautiful hotel/bar. Shout out to Marcy at the front desk, who accommodated my need for a larger room with two beds (and two full bathrooms!), and a late checkout. Will definitely look to stay here again next time I’m in town

This is not a 4 star hotel. It's time for a makeover. I'm a Platinum member with Marriott and I spent years traveling for a living. The Lexington must do better. Yes, staff was pleasant, I would expect at least that much from this type of hotel, but it's still appreciated. But virtually everything else was a miss. I spent 6 nights in this hotel. The AC creaked and dripped so much I had to use my phone for ocean noises to sleep. The water pressure was a joke in the sink and was almost unbearably hard in the shower. The cleaning staff was stingy with towels and when asked for two additional ones, they asked what we needed them for... because I workout and would like to shower. Why did I need to explain that? I also saw the staff folding CLEAN towels on the floor of the hallway. I stayed on the highest elite floor and had to go down to the lobby to get water, which they were also stingy with. The AC control was literally falling off of the wall. The rooms are so dated that the quaint 1920s appeal is completely gone and it's more like everything is holding on for dear life. At the breakfast, which I only ate once, I went through 11 plates before I found one without food on it. The staff apologized and took them, but what does that say about the kitchen? For the rates they charge at this hotel, Marriott must do better. This hotel has lost a business traveler. For better or worse I have certain expectations when I've been loyal to a chain since Starwood was still around. This was a disappointment.
