What clients say about Park Terrace Hotel in New York (NY)
-
The room did not have a real bathroom door. This is a dealbreaker. The hotel was absolutely lovely otherwise. Staff was fantastic, location was great, bed was comfy. But bring back real bathroom doors. It was not a comfortable stay sharing a space where the toilet and the bed are mere feet apart and not separated by a full and actual wall and door. A sliding glass barn door is not an acceptable feature for a bathroom. It’s a shame, because it was otherwise such a great stay.

I had a very pleasant experience here, but the rooms are highly variable. The one I was fortunate to be in had a great view of Bryant Park and the surrounding skyscrapers. But other rooms look at a grey wall. I would have preferred a Keurig coffee makes to the Nespresso type in the room, which can only make a thimble full of coffee.

Very disappointed with the customer service. I accidentally made a reservation online and canceled it immediately. My parents then booked separately with their own credit card and paid for the services. Even though I never received any services under my reservation, the hotel refused to issue a refund or offer any solution. Being charged for something I did not use feels extremely unfair. I would not recommend this hotel based on this experience.

We had such a wonderful stay, especially thanks to Miguel. We visited around Christmas and he made it so special. He wished me a Happy Birthday and surprised us with champagne in our room along with a thoughtful note. When we left, he gave us a beautiful ornament for my boyfriend and our family which meant so much to us. The location is perfect and close to everything. The lobby was stunning with a gorgeous designer Christmas tree and wreaths. I would absolutely come back for the service and the location. I highly recommend.

Overall, our stay at the Park Terrace Hotel was good. The room was compact and the view wasn’t anything special, but everything was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The location is great if you’re happy staying in Midtown, and the Bryant Park winter market nearby is a lovely perk. Our biggest issue was the front desk. We asked about upgrading our room when we arrived and again a couple days later, and we were fully prepared to pay for the upgrade. Both times we were told someone would call our room phone and our cell phone to show us an upgraded room, but we never received a call, voicemail, or follow-up. At checkout, Yovanni was openly rude and scolded us for being “MIA.” We explained that we had come down to the front desk and also waited in our room, but never heard anything. He doubled down instead of simply clearing up the miscommunication, and it left a bad taste. On the flip side, the Branch restaurant on the 6th floor was wonderful. Jonathon and the staff were genuinely friendly. He gave us great recommendations around the city and even wrote them down for us. Front desk could take notes!

I was extremely disappointed by the cleanliness of my room during my recent stay. Upon entering the shower on the first day, there was hair throughout the shower area clearly left behind from a previous guest. You can imagine how disgusted I felt. I informed the General Manager the following day and was assured that the room would be deep cleaned. Unfortunately, no deep cleaning was ever done for the remainder of our stay, and the issue was never properly remedied. Additionally, I was told we would receive a $50 credit for the inconvenience, but that credit was never applied or honored. Overall, this experience fell far below expectations in both cleanliness and follow-through. The bed and linens are also poor quality and uncomfortable. I would avoid this hotel. I would appreciate this being properly addressed.

I stayed at the Terrace Park Hotel near Bryant Park this past Saturday night after attending a fight at Madison Square Garden, and I truly couldn’t have picked a better location. Everything from start to finish was excellent. The hospitality really stood out. David helped me with check-in and made the process seamless and welcoming. On my way out, I was greeted and checked out by Arlette, whose smile could brighten any room, and Hugo, who made sure everything went smoothly and treated me with nothing but respect. The hotel itself is extremely clean, well-organized, and very safe. The level of hospitality across the board was incredible. I genuinely enjoyed my stay and can’t wait for the next event in the city so I can come back and make a full weekend out of it. Go to Branch on the 6th floor! Really cool vibes in there and the drinks are ON POINT! Highly recommended!

Enjoyed a fabulous stay at Park Terrace Hotel, felt warm and toasty even through the worst snowstorm in a decade and in a lovely corner room with stunning floor to ceiling windows on two walls. Nespresso machine was great. Malin + Goetz toilettries. The Italian restaurant did a lovely breakfast- it’s not always easy to get my protein in when travelling and I appreciated the delicious egg white omelette to start my day. Great gym - array of dumb and kettlebell weights, cable and Pelotons. As I was staying a few days, I also used the laundry room so I could refresh my gym kit too. The hotel has lovely staff too, really responsive and kind, especially Yovanni.

An amazing place to stay. Very clean and modern. I met the staff Merilyn and David and they went above and beyond to make the stay much more memorable. Would definitely return.

Amazing experience! It’s my second time staying here (first time without kids) and Arlette, the concierge, went above and beyond to make it a special experience. She’s always so helpful, accommodating and goes the extra mile. With so many hotel options in the city, it’s hard to pick one but this one has stood out and will keep us coming back. The hotel is perfectly central without being in the peak touristy area and is a short 10 minute walk if coming from Grand Central. There’s plenty of food options nearby and attractions to walk to or take the train too. Highly recommend!

Worst experience ever. DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY HERE. Extremely poor service and rude staff. No one helped with luggage on arrival, and the staff were unfriendly from the start. The first room had no hot water and no working heater (besides being ridiculous tiny for the price payed and had no tower racks). This happened to us and to another couple who was traveling with us during that time (which is absurd). Instead of changing the room immediately, the hotel’s solution was to give us blankets and expect us to spend the night freezing cold — which only arrived at 1 am. The second room was way smaller than what we initially paid for, and only the third room was acceptable. So we needed to change room 3 times. The day after our checkout we returned to the hotel as my husband forgot his razor in the shower. They made us wait 45 minutes in the lobby to then say nothing was found. Poor hospitality and zero customer care. Would not recommend AT ALL.

We have had two lovely stays at Park Terrace. Location is central and truly in the hub of the city, without being overbearing. Access to the park is really nice. The rooms and public areas, including the gym, are well maintained and very clean. The staff is accommodating and super friendly. We had an issue on our most recent Christmas stay with the heating not functioning properly, and the issue was promptly resolved and they ever offered us a discount! We will absolutely be returning. It’s a really nice hotel.

Room was not cleaned two days in a row, we have a toddler and it was disappointing the lack of communication and consideration given to this for the 1k room price. Avoid during busy seasons they were understaffed - manager was going to call us to check in and did not, twice.

I stayed at this hotel primarily for its location near Bryant Park and the New York Public Library. Unfortunately, beyond the location, the experience was deeply disappointing. From the moment we checked in, there was no greeting, no welcome, and no information provided about the hotel or its amenities. We were not informed about what the hotel offers and only later discovered on our own that there is a lounge on the property. On a Saturday night around 11:00 p.m., we approached the front desk to ask whether the lounge was open or how to access it. We were told simply that it was “closed.” No alternatives were suggested, no recommendations were given, and no effort was made to guide us elsewhere — despite the fact that we were in the heart of New York City, surrounded by bars, restaurants open until 2-4 am. The following morning, while checking out around 11:00 a.m., we asked for breakfast recommendations. The response we received was that “nobody is serving breakfast at this time.” Again, no suggestions were offered — despite there being countless cafés, bagel shops, and brunch spots literally steps from the hotel, including a restaurant directly next door. At 11am, everyone in New York is still serving breakfast, brunch, bagels or coffee - the statement of no breakfast after 11am in the city is wild. Across three separate interactions with the front desk, the responses were consistently limited to one-word answers such as no, closed, or not available. There was zero effort to be helpful, welcoming, or proactive, which is especially disappointing given the hotel’s location and price point. The front desk is the face of the hotel, and at no point did it feel hospitable. The final interaction was particularly frustrating. After we had already checked out and returned our keys, I asked to use the restroom. The front desk staff repeatedly handed me expired key cards, which did not work, preventing access to the restroom entirely until I had to find cleaning staff to let me into the common area. Even then, there was no acknowledgment, apology, or attempt to resolve the situation. New York City has so much to offer — incredible energy, hospitality, and experiences — but none of that was reflected at this hotel. Aside from its location, the hotel leaves a very disappointing impression. There are many hotels in this area, and I would strongly recommend choosing another. This was one of the least welcoming hotel experiences I have had.

What a huge disappointment for the amount of money I paid for this hotel. The staff seems to know nothing other than what you owe them . The bathroom had a sliding door on it with no lock. The door didn’t seal too much so you could actually see someone on the toilet and in the shower as well . The front desk gave us wrong directions to pier to see the Statue of Liberty . The towels in bathroom were like sandpaper . If this is your first time to New York this is definitely not a hotel for you they know nothing about the city or give you information on where to go . I would not recommend anyone to go here

This location is everything especially at Christmas time! The bryant park vendors and ice skating is great. Hotel was so clean and staff was nice! Elevator is a little slow to wait for. But that’s my only complaint :)

Here for a meeting across Bryant Park. Reasonable rate for NYC. Important to note this hotel is an upscale variant of Club Quarters Chain, with slightly more spacious rooms. Room was very thoughtfully designed with king bed, luggage rack, tiny closet, small desk, and small but well organized bathroom with shower stall. Water stations with bottles every floor. My room faced rear of property and very quiet- good night’s sleep. Check-in and check-out were fast and efficient; and bill was accurate. Easy to get an uber to Moynihan and equally easy to walk. Make sure to visit NY Public Library & Bryant Park across the street- I was there during a winter fest and the park was hopping: happy crowd enjoying ice skating, too many food trucks to count, and interesting craft vendors. For a lunch treat, try Naya Lebanese Food across the Park on 42nd Street. Only two small chairs at counter, but tasty and authentic.

The Park Terrace Hotel is a true gem in Manhattan. Impeccable location and attentive staff. I even had the opportunity to meet the hotel manager. He was incredibly gracious and quite clearly experienced in the hospitality industry. Moreover, the property feels very safe. Candidly, the other guests were definitely the type to appreciate & respect a quiet and orderly environment. Definitely no rowdy crowds or chaos. The rooftop restaurant and bar are extraordinary — spacious, elegant, and ideal for a happy hour with a colleague or client. Had the feel of a private social club. And the yoga mat in the room? The perfect finishing touch for my morning Pilates class!

We stayed at the Park Terrace in July of this year. My family were on our summer trip. We wanted a modern hotel with a great location and this hotel did not disappoint. Our room was overlooking Bryant Park with a view of my favorite park in the city. The hotel has a rooftop bar with delicious apps and drinks. The front desk staff were always friendly and asking if we needed anything to make our stay comfortable. They recommended the restaurant next door which we should have tried as it was packed, next time. The only issue I had was with housekeeping but Devin, the hotels manager, helped smooth things over and accommodated us to take care of this issue. It’s all about customer service and making your guests feel Comfortable and appreciated so that they want to return. We will definitely return the next time we are in the city.

Fantastic location + kind and helpful staff! Our room was a great size for two people and the bathroom was very clean. The main complaint I have is there were three bathroom stalls in the hallway (which I have never seen in a hotel) - right across from our room (#515). All afternoon and night we were listening to people go in and out of the bathroom, and the doors closing were loud and annoying + people were talking and gathering around them. I have never been in a hotel where there were public bathrooms in the hallway - why are they even there? I would stay here again, but would absolutely try to get a room NOT near the bathrooms. Not sure if this was the case on other floors.

First time staying at the park terrace and it was great time! Great location for utilizing public transport with two subway lines in Bryant Park. Front desk staff was extremely courteous any time of day. I had arrived early so my bag was stored and they gave me a temp key card to access branch and other facilities. I had booked a deluxe high floor room which netted me a room on the 7th floor with an okay view of the library and Bryant Park. The bed was extremely comfortable which is something that I can't say of other NYC hotels. It was nice having a sitting area in the room to relax in between adventures. Trade off for having this space is that the bathroom is a little tight. Also there are two elevators and they are small. Add some time in your transit plans as you will be waiting. It was very convenient having the filtered water station in the hallway. At the end of the day I would stay here again.

This hotel is a perfect location, but there were many issues with my room and the overall experience at the hotel. I didn’t know the room did not include a mini refrigerator so I requested it two times and they told me they would check their backstock and bring one to the room, but it never arrived and nobody called to tell us they could not accommodate it. I had to improvise to find a way to keep drinks cold in my room, as well as some carry out food, so I had to fill a trash bin and plastic liner with ice. The queen size bed had four king-size pillows, which did not fit well and were falling off the bed. Each pillow was also paper thin and not supportive whatsoever. The shower leaked and I had to use 3 to 4 towels on the floor every time I used it to soak up all the water. The ice machine did not work on our floor or the floor below us so I had to walk up and down the stairs each day to find a working ice machine. There are two elevators to accommodate this hotel and the restaurant on the 6th floor, so there was always a long wait to get to the lobby from the 14th floor. The views from the restaurant terrace of Bryant Park are beautiful, and the hotel stuff were nice, but they weren’t very attentive.

Summary: Your room will only be serviced at hotel discretion beware!! You might not get your room serviced if the hotel believes it does not need any servicing that day! The worst experience for the money you pay. We’ve stayed here for years during our visits to NYC. We stayed recently and after a long day out came back to see our room wasn’t serviced at all. We called the concierge and we were told that the rooms are only serviced at their discretion and they did not feel our room needed servicing today. This hotel charges $400+ a night and the service you get is at best $40 motel quality. Please do yourself a favor and do not book this hotel or you’ll be very disappointed! See pictures attached. After years of staying in this hotel during our visits to NYC it’s safe to say tonight will be our last stay in this hotel!

5 Stars – A Gem Overlooking Bryant Park Absolutely loved my stay at Park Terrace Hotel! The location is unbeatable — right by Bryant Park with gorgeous views of the Library and Park from the room. The hotel itself is modern, stylish, and impeccably clean. The bed was super comfortable, and the room had everything needed for a relaxing stay. Staff were genuinely friendly and helpful, made me feel welcome from check-in to check-out. Would 100% stay here again. A perfect mix of comfort, convenience, and charm in the heart of NYC!

This hotel used to be our go-to hotel. Great staff. Great room. Close to Bryant Park. The whole thing. Today, not so much. We book our room a year in advance year after year for the U.S. Tennis Open. We usually stay 9-11 nights depending on the year. We used to get good rooms as a repeat long-term customer (we've stayed here each year since it opened). Not any more. The Branch (rooftop tapas place) "sells" themselves as a meeting room... bring your laptop and settle in. Oh, but don't bring in outside water. Don't bring in the water bottle they give you in your room. No outside drink means no outside drink. Period. Kinda dumb in today's tote your own water world we live in. I get it- insurance, health departments and lawyers have messed it all up. Or have they? No more free coffee which is not that bad... but it was certainly a nice perk. No ESPN2. Listed on the TV guide, but not available. Front desk told me to stream it on my device- thanks pal, never thought of that. Glad you were around to help me. Still waiting on his call back to investigate why a channel listed is unavailable. Elevators used to be fast but with cleaning crew using them all the time, it is much slower. Hotel has changed unfortunately, and will unlikely be our go-to. It's a bummer because it used to be great.

I am hesitant to write a fantastic review for the Park Terrace Hotel. Only because once the word gets out about this gorgeous hotel, it might be difficult to get a reservation. From the moment we walked into the lobby of the hotel, we were warmly welcomed. We arrived around 6:30am and the hotel front desk employees were kind and friendly. They allowed us an early check in to the room; we took advantage of the cooler weather (for July) & took a long walk up to Central Park and back. We returned, showered and napped for a few hours in the very cozy and meticulously clean room. There was plenty of space for my husband and I. The bathroom was spacious and there was a lounge sofa, table and plenty of closet space. We appreciated the hydration stations so we could refill our water bottles. I loved restaurant/bar, Branch, on the 6th floor; we enjoyed the drinks, the small plates (the hummus plate was divine!) and the views from the outside terrace were absolute perfection! On one side, an unobstructed view of the Empire State Building and on the other, amazing views of Bryant Park, & the New York Public Library. The two block walk to Grand Central Station was an added bonus. We have found our favorite NYC hotel and are looking forward to our return. Thank you to ALL at the Park Terrace Hotel who made our short weekend in NYC so wonderful!

Amazing. You won’t regret your decision just book it. Fantastic room (corner) with patio doors which was fantastic to through open and let in NYC. Brilliant night sleep. Can’t fault the room at all but the selling point is the staff. What fantastic staff , very welcoming and friendly they absolutely made our stay. Perfect spot central to everything and opposite Bryant Park which is an oasis in a busy city

Son and I stayed in March. The hotel is amazing. Staff is on top of it. The restaurant and bar and outdoor area is so serene and gorgeous. Best to pay more and confirm a Juliet Balcony room overlooking the Park. Its worth it. The rooms are spacious and there are water bottle refill stations on every floor. We used in room food service and it was perfect for us. We also had amazing restaurants all around us. There is no better location and no construction! Loved it

My room was located on the sixth floor, which was adjacent to the restaurant. As soon as you come out of the elevator, you would smell the sewage and when I went into my room, the smell was even much worse.I went downstairs told the front desk about the smell. They said they look into it. Nothing was ever done when I Explain the situation in the morning at the checkout they said we have never heard about this. We tried to contact you. They had no records of ever contacting me and I never received any information from them.

I had an amazing stay at the Park Terrace Hotel NYC! From the moment I arrived, the service was top-notch, and the staff went above and beyond to make my visit special. The rooms were modern, comfortable, and impeccably clean, and within walk distance to many attractions. A special shout-out to Miguel, who truly made a difference in my stay. He was incredibly attentive, friendly, and always ready to assist with anything I needed. His professionalism and warm demeanor added a personal touch that made me feel right at home. The amenities were excellent, especially the sauna, which was a perfect way to unwind. The only small downside was having to request twice for it to be turned on and waiting a bit longer than expected for it to reach the ideal temperature. However, once it was ready, it was absolutely worth it! Overall, I highly recommend the Park Terrace Hotel. The exceptional service, prime location, and comfortable accommodations make it a fantastic choice for anyone visiting NYC. I will definitely be returning!
