Was fortunate enough to know someone here at NYSE and took a private tour, was able to visit the set of many of the financial broadcasts such as closing bell and others, was also a part of the bell ringing ceremony to close out the market, one of the photos was captured during the height of the Pandemic and you can see, there is zero persons in or around NYSE, a once in a lifetime tour and also once in a lifetime pandemic that allowed me to take a shot without any tourists milling about in the photo. Located at 11 Wall Street in Lower Manhattan, it serves as the primary marketplace for many of the world's most established "blue-chip" companies. Market Leadership: As of 2024/2025, it hosts thousands of companies with a combined valuation in the tens of trillions of dollars. Trading Model: Unlike the purely electronic Nasdaq, the NYSE uses a hybrid model. It maintains a physical trading floor where human Designated Market Makers (DMMs) work alongside high-speed automated systems to maintain "fair and orderly" markets. The Iconic Bell: Trading is famously signaled by the ringing of a brass bell at 9:30 AM (Open) and 4:00 PM (Close) ET. 1792: The Buttonwood Agreement On May 17, 24 stockbrokers signed an agreement under a buttonwood tree on Wall Street. This established a formal system for trading government bonds and bank stocks with set commissions, marking the birth of the exchange. 1817: Formal Organization The group drafted a constitution and renamed itself the New York Stock & Exchange Board. They began renting space to trade indoors, moving away from coffee houses and street corners. 1863: The Modern Name The organization officially shortened its name to the New York Stock Exchange. 1867: Technological Revolution The introduction of the stock ticker allowed price information to be transmitted via telegraph, connecting Wall Street to investors across the country for the first time. 1903: 18 Broad Street The exchange moved into its current iconic neoclassical building, featuring the famous "Integrity Protecting the Works of Man" sculpture on its facade. This building was one of the first in the world to have air conditioning. 1929: The Great Crash "Black Thursday" (Oct 24) and "Black Tuesday" (Oct 29) saw the market collapse, losing nearly 25% of its value in days and signaling the start of the Great Depression. This led to the creation of the SEC in 1934 to regulate the markets. 2006: Going Public After over 200 years as a private, member-owned organization, the NYSE became a public company (NYSE Group, Inc.) following a merger with Archipelago. 2013: Acquisition by ICE The Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) acquired the NYSE, though it continues to operate under its historic name and brand.

Attending the 102nd New York Stock Exchange Christmas tree lighting was a truly special experience. The atmosphere was festive and elegant, with music, lights and great energy all around Wall Street. Everything was well organized and felt safe, and seeing the tree come to life in front of the NYSE facade was unforgettable. I highly recommend this event to anyone visiting New York in December.

This was a once in a lifetime opportunity. The staff of the NYSE were warm, professional and incredibly welcoming. As invited guests we truly felt honored to be on this space. Great hospitality, staff and welcome reception for bell ringing guests and their accompanying families.

I really liked that part of New York. The amazingly tall buildings that surround you from all sides. But the one thing that stood out to me was the stock exchange building. This place holds such history and evens nowadays it remains as one of the greatest must-see things in New York City

The New York Stock Exchange, located at 11 Wall Street, is the world’s second-largest exchange by market capitalization. It is a symbol of Wall Street and the American economy. While the exchange boasts 2,300 listed companies, slightly fewer than the NASDAQ, its combined market capitalization was once greater. However, this figure was reversed in 2025. The exchange building’s interior and exterior are strikingly different, with the exterior featuring an ancient Greek-style marble façade, while the interior boasts a strikingly modern design.

Visited New York Stock Exchange in July 2025. It was an experience in itself being the biggest stock exchange (in terms of market capitalization). Though the building is dwarfed by taller buildings around, it has a majestic look. There's a bronze statue of a little girl looking towards the exchange. Also I found many huge bronze blocks on the pedestrian paths may be to stop any terrorist activity by means of explosive laden trucks. World Trade Center, the charging bull are nearby.

The New York Stock Exchange was a great experience for me. This was my first time going and I really enjoyed it. I loved the old historic buildings. I could definitely feel the financial environment. If you have a chance, please visit.

Really cool to see and there wasn’t a ton of foot traffic on a Wednesday evening. Street was blocked off so no cars zooming past, I’d go in the evening to see it.

Even if you’re not deeply into economics or trading, just walking through this historic area feels special. The building of the NYSE itself is impressive, with its massive columns and the famous American flag hanging outside. You can’t go inside the exchange floor unless you’re part of a special tour, but just standing outside gives you a sense of the importance this place holds. Wall Street as a whole has a unique energy. The streets are narrower than you might expect, surrounded by tall skyscrapers, and filled with people from all over the world. The iconic Charging Bull statue is only a short walk away, and you’ll usually find a crowd taking pictures there. It’s definitely worth visiting if you want to experience a piece of New York City’s identity beyond the usual tourist attractions. You don’t need to spend a lot of time here, an hour or two walking around, taking in the atmosphere, and snapping some photos is enough to feel the spirit of the place.

The historic atmosphere and energy were powerful. It was thrilling to see this place where important decisions affecting the world are made. Being surrounded by Wall Street's famous buildings and fast-paced atmosphere demonstrated its importance to the global economy. It's a must-see for anyone interested in finance or history.

Even if you're not into stocks, the New York Stock Exchange building is a must-see! Its massive, classical design with all those big columns is awesome. It's an incredible piece of architecture right in the middle of everything. Definitely worth a quick look while you're exploring downtown!

I took a tour at the New York Stock Exchange about 20 years ago, and even back then, the place was semi empty. I couldn't even imagine what the trading floor looks like now with everything totally computerized. In any event, there is still a ton of history here all around this beautiful building. The surrounding area, in general, is a must visit NYC landmark.

The largest stock exchange in the world. Stunning architecture I must say! It's impressive to visit Wall Street for the first time! It's definitely worth the visit to discover the financial district even if you don't go inside. I also liked discovering the Fearless Girl and the Wall Street Bull.

Visiting the Wall Street District in NYC was a fascinating experience. The area's energy is palpable, with towering skyscrapers and historic landmarks like the New York Stock Exchange and the Charging Bull statue. Walking along Wall Street, I felt the weight of financial history around me. The nearby Federal Hall, where George Washington took his presidential oath, added a deep historical layer to the visit. Despite its business-centric vibe, the district also offers charming spots like Stone Street, with its cozy cafes and vibrant atmosphere. For anyone interested in finance, history, or iconic NYC sights, the Wall Street District is a must-see.

I didn't get the chance to go inside the stock exchange, but I managed to take several pictures outside. It felt like being in a scene from the movies, something you have to experience for yourself. I definitely plan to visit inside when I return again.

Apparently, this place is open only for brokers and high ranking people. Security is tight around the block and streets of the building surrounding, no car to pass by. It is on wall st and place is surrounded by skyscrapers thus makes your walk enjoyable to the eyes. It has also a nice fascade.

The New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) is a really incredible building, it's a must-see landmark when you're in New York City. The architecture is stunning and visiting this spot offers you a perfect reason to explore the Financial District of Manhattan (while you’re here)!!

This is a must place to visit for tourists and locals. So much history around this place and the surrounding area. It’s easy to visit the outside and Wall Street and Lower Manhattan. It’s a great place to bike to during times of COVID. Pretty quiet. Best to visit early to late morning so the sun is shining on the building. There are tons of places to get something to eat and take a short walk to the seaport area to have a picnic or Battery Park. I highly recommend this place and area for a visit!

Financial capital of the US This place is heavily guarded. Not much to see as you cannot enter inside. Good for the Photo op. This is where all the money is made on stocks and us always hear about it It's fun to see and to also get a photo of the Wall Street sign. Well worth the time. In Christmas time, they decorate it really well. I have been there 5-6 times and I find it amusing every time. Wall Street, the federal hall is right there. Wish I Could Have Toured the Inside
