Dining at Lagos Restaurant in NYC was an absolute delight! From the moment I walked in, the warm and welcoming staff made me feel right at home. The atmosphere is vibrant and authentic, perfectly reflecting the rich flavors and culture of Nigeria. The menu is incredible — every dish bursts with flavor, from perfectly spiced jollof rice to tender grilled meats and fresh, flavorful sides. The presentation is thoughtful, and the portions are generous, making it great for both sharing and indulging. What truly sets Lagos apart is the attention to detail and genuine hospitality. It’s clear the team takes pride in providing an unforgettable dining experience. Whether you’re craving authentic Nigerian cuisine or just looking for a lively, delicious meal in NYC, Lagos Restaurant is an absolute must-visit. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Went to the bar ordered 2 drinks and was charged $2 because the bartender had to do their job of mixing the drink, I’ve never heard of such thing, I would not be returning to any place that just gets up and add random service charges to their bill. This should be considered fraud. Why is a bar charging a $2 up charge to mix drinks.

I don't know where to begin. This place is absolutely amazing, from the drinks to the food to the service to the vibe. Rawana was awesome. Everything she recommended was on point, she knows the menu and she was so nice and very attentive. I give this restaurant a 💯 because they deserve it. I had Beef sliders, Calamari, Jollof Rice with Goat. Everything was sooo sooo good & they give nice portions. The drinks, Lychee martini & Lekki Margarita did not disappoint. Let's not forget the DJ 🔥🔥🔥💯 I highly recommend this restaurant. Can't wait to go back!!

I went to Lagos last night. I made reservations although the restaurant do accept walkins. This restaurant exceeded my expectations. This spot was stunning. It has two levels.I love the decor, it was so luxurious and charming. I love the soft cushion chairs with gold trimming and the gold silverware was stunning. It had one of the biggest bars with 5 to 6 large tvs. The lighting set the mood capturing the beauty and essence of the place. The serve was amazing. From the time I walked in the hosts were warm and friendly. My friend and I choose to sit downstairs. As I sat I was at awe and blown away by the beauty of the restaurant. Our waitress Rawan was fantastic. She was sweet, friendly and really knew the menu and gave excellent recommendations. We ordered two Lychee Martinis from the happy hour menu. The Lychee Martini had house vodka, lychee puree, cream of coconut and elder flower liqueur. In addition to the drinks, I also ordered the beef sliders from the happy hour menu too. The beef sliders came with american cheese, sauteed onions and spicy mayo. The sliders were so delicious. From the caramelized onions and the perfectly cooked cheese burger on a sweet roll. Some of the best beef sliders I have ever had. The first bite was amazing that I wanted to savor every bite. My friend ordered another Lychee Martini while I ordered Lekki Margarita with Coconut flavor. Rawan our waitress, recommended this drink and I see why. It was a decadent, rich and balanced Martini with Tamarind on the rim. So good I ordered another one and my friend joined me too. We were in love with the drinks. We did order more food. I ordered Mac and cheese with crab meat and BBQ wings. The Mac and cheese came in a cast iron pan. That Mac and cheese was cheesy and flavorful. It was cooked perfectly. The wings were good too. My friend ordered Jollof Rice, slow cooked one-pot rice, tomatoes, red bell pepper, scotch bonnet and ginger with Goat meat. The Goat meat was nice and tender. The Jollof Rice was full of bold, spicy, tasteful flavor. She also ordered Calamari which came with red stew aioli, spicy mayo. This restaurant hands down capture the Caribbean but most of all the African favors and spices. I was very impressed with the presentation and execution of the dishes. The managers checked in to make sure how everything was. Overall, the staff was terrific. This restaurant by far has some of the best African food I ever had. I will definitely be back.

Everything was delicious, if you like a spicy dish ask for the jerk chicken with jollof rice. The calamari was perfect and not overcooked. My drink was NOT watered down. The staff all were courteous beautiful and handsome. The musical atmosphere was smooth. Thank You.

Food was decent but the service was trash granted we were there on Valentine’s Day so the place was overly packed but it took a while for the waitress to ask for drinks and food. Now what really pissed me off is the food is to expensive and the bill doesn’t make any since at all Rice is supposed to come with the meal I ordered instead they charge separately and the side off beef was more then the beef charge that comes with the meal but the portion size is smaller. I mean $20 for just rice is insane and believe the rice was not that good I won’t be coming here again!!

High-energy spot with club vibes, great service and amazing food! Ask about spice levels if you're sensitive.
Feb 11, 2026 -
When we arrived around 8pm Saturday and had to show our IDs, we were skeptical about what was to come. It was explained Lagos also operates as a club, at least that night. The music was thumping when we entered… not a great sign for a dinner experience we typically seek. But we wanted to try the food based on a review I read in late 2023. The drink menu seemed sweet, so G opted for vodka soda, and I had the NY brewed Lagos Lager. We started with the spicy soup… and it is spicy and tasty. The goat was tender and the flavor quite nice. If you don’t care for spice, you won’t be able to eat it. We continues with their Lagos salad and it was good. Finished with their Jollof rice with goat. Rice was very good and the goat was flavorful, but probably needed additional braising. If you’re looking for a Saturday night club scene with good food, then I recommend.

It was okay. I won't be in a hurry to go back. I had goat pepper soup which was slightly overboard with the spiciness. I've had pepper soup multiple times so I know it's supposed to be spicy, but this was a tad bit too much. My stomach hurt all day afterwards. The jollof was okay, not the best I've had but not the worst either. I got peri peri chicken which was well seasoned but overcooked and dry especially the white meat. The plantains were dry as well - disappointing. The vegetable medley was the only thing on my plate that was a 10/10. The vibes here are great - the music selection is really good. It'd be a good place for hanging out and having a few drinks and a snack. I wouldn't come back here for dinner.

The are who they say they are. We had a good time at night and during the day. Theres some feedback I could share about not pigeon holding customers to a bottle just to get a table. Not everyone in my friend group drinks the same type of liquor. The bill will still accumulate to a similar cost. Also the menue gor the bottle say one thing but the bill was 50 bucks higher. Apparently you had to get two bottles in order for that price to hapoen snd thats wack. I think the pushy bottle thing alienated guest that dont have high tolerance or in a place where they don't want to consume that much liquor. But want to have a drink have hookah and be out. Service at night is okey. Confusing at first, server can be short because shes busy. The manager does a good job wrangling customers. Food is very good. We would come back
Jan 26, 2026 -
My group of 7 went for brunch. The food was pricey but very yummy.. it was too crowded being tables and booths and everything was too too close. You had to tell the other table excuse me to get up from our table. The first place they had us at a booth was not fitting 7 ppl. So we had to move. Upstairs, downstairs and then back up 2 flights of stairs. Even though I like the food Idk if I would go back.

I loved my experience at Lagos. From the moment I arrived, the service was quick, even the bar. The service was attentive and friendly. The food was delicious, full of flavor and beautifully presented but the Suya was too spicy and mac and cheese lacked flavor. The ambiance is upscale, vibrant, and well put together. The music was on point and really set the vibe for the night. For transparency on pricing: $230 total for 4 drinks, 2 appetizers, and 1 entrée we shared. The downside is the lack of a dance floor. With music this good, it feels like a missed opportunity. The volume was fine and we could still talk to eachother. Oh, one last thing is I wish they had more that one ladies restroom. Still, it’s a great spot for amazing food, drinks, and a lively atmosphere, and I’d definitely return.

I picked Lagos out of the blue and once I told some friends, some knew exactly where I was talking about. First I tried to get a table for 10 online to no avail. So I called and got (host) Maliyah. She put me on hold came back with a yes! I think Jasmine is the 2nd host who helped me over the phone also. Anyway! I went on Saturday the 10th. Had to wait a bit to be seated but they made up for it. Both managers Kat or Kate (sorry if I'm messing your name up Queen) and another one made moves all night to accommodate me after my party dinner hit OVER 10ppl. They were like we got you! The food all of it was delicious! DELICIOUS! OK!! The pineapple drinks could be a little stronger but the drink suga baby or mama made up. Whew! Super strong and sweet! Its good though! I recommend it. The rasta pasta with shrimp OMG. Ate it for 2 days. The atmosphere was just a vibe. I love it and the location of Lagos is perfect. Heart of times square. The DJ played a mixture of all genres of music which was cool. Big TVs to watch the games... A dancer on sticks was so 🔥 we loved her!! The place is low key a spot to enjoy your surroundings and eat lovely. The food and hospitality is what im sure to return for so look out for Kay soon!!! Thank you all for making my 50th memorable in such a positive way. The host Saturday and all the staff were amazing and cool. I appreciate you all! Don't forget me!

Lagos Timesquare is in a perfect location. We were easily dropped off by our Lyft. We were welcomed by security, had our licenses scanned and our belongings checked. I made reservations through OpenTable about a week in advance; 9:30pm on a Friday night. Next, we were welcomed by the hostesses with smiles on their faces. We were seated immediately after taking a much needed photo in front of their Lagos symbol. We were seated upstairs. The lights and energy from the guests and music further added to the experience. The seating is tight. I felt like we were sitting on top of other guests, but we had enough space to not hear anyone's conversations. There is a man that walks around taking hookah orders. We did elect to do hookah. It was $60. Due to the space, we had to keep it underneath our table. We ordered the red stew with goat (extra $18), Lagos burger, and 4 drinks. I enjoyed the goat stew. It has a kick to it. The white rice was giving me American white rice. I wasn't feeling it. They did provide a bowl of red stew, so adding that to the rice made it taste better. Fire on the Mountain is served with a flaming lime. Slay Mama was served in a pineapple and it was my favorite drink. We also ordered the Suya margarita and the Sugar Baby. I enjoyed the Sugar Baby. I brought my friend for his birthday. He had an awesome time. The ambiance, music, and service were on point. There is someome that is walking around taking photos. They come in a frame and are $28 per photo. I will note that I think we were overdressed. The website states they adhere to a dress code. Reviews I read on Google also focused on attire. People were dressed down in sweats, pants, Uggs, and sneakers.

Atmosphere was lovely. The hosts and server Haley were very welcoming, and professional. Great atmosphere, we didnt venture to the 2nd fl, but dining area and bar are spacious. The loaded Moi Moi was spicy and delicious, we had Lagos fried rice, curry goat, snapper, all of which were huge portions, we each had left overs. OMG the lychee martinis are to die for. Overall experience 5 out of 5.

Food is delicious. I didn’t have a reservation so had to sit at the bar. Service was not great, but I would still recommend because the food is so good. Doubles as a lounge so it’s loud and not really family friendly. 5 stars on the food and drinks though!

Had a great time at Lagos TSQ. Food: I’d heard great reviews and was happy to finally try it. The food didn’t come out quickly though — we waited about 40 minutes. I ordered Nigerian stew with a side of rice and fish as the protein. The stew tasted legit, but the rice wasn’t what Nigerians would typically use (jasmine), which threw me off a bit. I was pleasantly surprised that it came with two large pieces of fish. Overall, I’d say the price point was fair. Service: The place was packed. I went with my siblings on New Year’s Day around 5pm, and despite the full house, Hailey really tried her best. Atmosphere: We were seated on the top floor, which felt more geared toward upbeat partying than quiet dining. The music was loud, but still great. Shoutout to the DJ.

was my first time going to Lagos, I had a great experience at this restaurant. The food was very flavorful and delicious, definitely cooked with love. The atmosphere was welcoming and comfortable, making it a great place to relax and enjoy a meal. I had the jollof rice with slow cooked chicken as main course and macaroni and cheese with crabmeat. GREAT 🍸 also...On top of that, the service was excellent, the staff were friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was perfect. I would definitely recommend this place and would be happy to come back again. Great location, in time square, close to the train station. Its best to make reservation.

Update from 12/30: I truly love this restaurant, which makes this experience even more disappointing. I’m a loyal, returning customer, but the way I was treated on the 30th was unacceptable. I ordered two plates of white rice with red stew and turkey, as well as jollof rice. Instead, I received plain white rice with no stew and curry fried rice. When I called to report the issue, I was placed on hold for over 30 minutes. Eventually, I was told I had to request a refund through Uber Eats. Unfortunately, Uber Eats did not issue a full refund, so I essentially wasted $140 that day. The only thing I could eat was the turkey, and even that was disappointing—it was overly large and poorly seasoned. If jollof rice was unavailable, I should have been called instead of having my order substituted without my consent. And I truly don’t understand how white rice can be sent without stew. What made the situation worse was the lack of remorse from the staff. Someone took my phone number on Tuesday and promised a call back, but it’s now almost Friday and I still haven’t heard from anyone. This experience was extremely disappointing. I’m in NYC for work and I order from this restaurant at least twice a week—never once had a complaint. The food is consistently delicious, the portions are generous, and the quality never misses. My go-to meal is the rice and stew with peppered turkey, hands down the best thing on the menu. Today I finally dined in person and loved every moment of it. The DJ was a vibe, and the fried yam and snail are officially my new favorites. I truly love this place, and y’all definitely will be seeing a lot more of me while I’m still in town!

Nice atmosphere and the staff are polite and attentive. The food was delicious and filling, well presented, however it is a bit pricey but expected due to the location in Times Square.

Nice location right in the heart of Times Square with authentic Nigerian cuisine including jollof rice, asun and suya as well as lively Afrobeats music and club energy. Come for the music, happy hour, crowd and taste of Africa. Warning: the food is SPICY and not for the faint of heart. If you can handle the heat and the party atmosphere you’ll enjoy.

Absolutely loved this place! The music, the food, decor and ambiance was top tier! We got the goat (I forgot the name), calamari, salmon pasta & snapper everything was DELICIOUS. We will definitely be coming back!

This place was amazing from the drinks to the food. We started out with them lemon pepper wings ( all ima say is lord) didn’t even eat dinner yet and was ready to order some extra to go. The drink the chairman was amazing with flavor and they were not stingy with liquor inside. I had the Jullof rice with lamb can’t go wrong with this meal although some of the meat had a lot of bone and fat that made it hard to have table manners and eat at the restaurant lol. Overall was a good experience and me and the wife definitely going back

Came here on a whim after the restaurant we were supposed to go to was closed. We ate so glad it was. This restaurant did not disappoint! The service was stellar, the food was DELICIOUS, and they provided individually wrapped floss picks (because they know that goat stew gets good and stuck in your teeth)!!! I even told our waiter the bathroom could use a tidying up and the staff immediately cleaned the restroom. Lagos was an experience. Next time I am in the city I will definitely be back. Pictured: Mango and Strawberry Mimosas, Suya Beef, Red Pepper Snails, Pepper Soup (goat), Nigerian Breakfast, Chicken and Jollof Rice, Goat Stew, Plantains.

My friend and I went for dinner. I ordered the margarita, fish tacos and roasted snapper for entreè. Lets just say after eating went home and stomach was rumbling and the bathroom was calling. When i sat to eat at the restaurant i felt like my fish was a bit off but thought its just the preparation that was different. But after my fiasco with the bathroom the fish was spoiled, it was not flaky at all and the smell was not up to par either. The atmosphere and scenery was really nice but woulf not go to eat. Only because it wasnt just the fish that caused the issue; my friend ordered the chicken with jollof rice even that took her to the throne. Just be cautious on what you eat at Lagos.

Vibes vibes vibes! And more vibes! We made reservations but, they were so busy - they forgot us at the bar. Ended up spending our time at the bar which was still amazing. The bar tenders kept us entertained while also providing great recommendations for food and drink. The food was very well portioned for the price and everything was veryy tasty

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5 Stars** I celebrated my birthday at *Lagos Restaurant* in NYC and had the most unforgettable experience! From the moment I arrived, the vibe was perfect the music, the energy, and the live DJ set the tone for a truly special night. A huge thank you to **Sophia**, the amazing host, who went above and beyond to accommodate my group and made sure everything was seamless from start to finish. She was warm, welcoming, and so thoughtful she truly made me feel celebrated on my special day. Our waitress, **Alex**, was phenomenal. She was incredibly attentive, kind, and made sure we had everything we needed without ever having to ask twice. Her service made all the difference and allowed us to fully enjoy the night. And I can't forget **Rodney**, the bouncer, who made sure we felt safe and taken care of. He was professional and respectful, and his presence was reassuring especially when managing the crowd. The food was *exceptionally good* flavorful, fresh, and beautifully presented. Every bite was a hit with my guests. Thank you again to the entire team at Lagos for making my birthday night so special. I’ll definitely be back soon! 💫

Blown away by this place - from the food to the service and the atmosphere they nailed it all. I was visiting for a graduation and birthday. First THE FOOD: we did the brunch and I had chicken and waffles which were done perfectly. My wife had cheesy shrimp and grist that were thick well seasoned and very flavorful they had bottomless mimosas for $33 dollars so most of the party jumped on that. All of the food looked amazing and was not only present / plated well but tasted just as good as it looked. The staff was very friendly and accommodating to help with the two grandmothers that were with us. This place is a MUST. Next time your looking for a good brunch, lunch or any spot to eat

Taking the train to Grand Central and walking the four blocks might be your best bet for getting here smoothly. Once you arrive at Lagos, you're greeted with a bit of an unusual step—they check your ID and take your photo. While I'm not opposed to it, I do wonder how long and where my information is being stored. The space itself is massive, spanning multiple floors with options for bar seating, table seating, and high-top tables. It’s an impressive setup, though it's clear they’ve created a more vibrant atmosphere for the evening crowd. My server, Vianelly, was excellent. She was attentive, informative, and really made sure our needs were met throughout the evening. For starters, the Mac and Cheese was the best choice. It's filling. I didn’t opt for any of the add-ons like lobster Mac because I wasn’t sure how much extra they’d provide for the added cost, but on its own, the dish gets It done. Unfortunately, the Calamari didn't live up to expectations. It came with a spicy aioli and a tomato-based sauce that felt a bit out of place. The sauce overpowered the dish, and while I'm not at a seafood restaurant, I still wish the calamari tasted better. The Island Salmon was a bit of a disappointment. It comes with mashed potatoes and asparagus. The mashed potatoes were a bit bland, but the asparagus had a nice lemon-butter flavor that was enjoyable. Sadly, the salmon was dry and lacked seasoning. The Red Stew, on the other hand, was good dish. The portion size was generous, with tender, flavorful meat. The meat was cooked perfectly, and the sauce came on the side, which I appreciated—it didn’t overwhelm the dish. One of the biggest downsides to Lagos is the music—it’s incredibly loud. It felt like I had to yell just to be heard by the person sitting across from me. While the portion sizes and food quality didn't quite justify the prices, it’s clear that Lagos is more about the experience.
