yesterday, a small dog had a halter lead around its nose. The girl was actually pulling him up in the air, and his neck was going one way while his body another way-just horrific. Most of them are inexperienced, dog walkers they have the dogs poop all over the sidewalk in front of the restaurant pooping all over west street between Charles W11tth street

Just horrible. While they’re walking the dog, they’re not paying attention to the dog s behind them picking up stuff -They’re on their cell phones.
I would never leave any dog there. Neighbors have complained about the dogs pooping all over the area and doesn’t seem like. Management cares. Some of their jokes also go after a lot of the little dogs in the neighborhood just would stay clear of Dogtown
Best daycare in NYC! I absolutely love them. As a customer, you can clearly see that the dogs feel comfortable and happy at Dogtown. They offer full transparency and showed me the full facility. You are even able to see the dogs playing from the outside, which is very unusual for most other daycares.
Even though they don’t have to, they occasionally train your dog and give you valuable advice on how to interact with them. Lydia and the team are doing a great job. They play with the dogs and give them the love and walks they need.

Witnessed the owner of dog town pin a dog against the wall on his hind legs in an abusive way . When looking in I couldn’t believe it .seems short staff and staff sitting in the kennel or not properly watching the animals .
DO NOT TRUST DOGTOWN WITH YOUR PET – Life-Threatening Neglect & Zero Accountability
1. Serious Bite Incident – Hours of Delay & No Transparency
My dog was bitten at Dogtown, resulting in a deep chest puncture requiring multiple stitches. Staff failed to notice the wound for hours. When an employee finally called, they refused to provide any details, leaving me in a panic. The attacking dog had no active rabies vaccine on file—Dogtown only obtained proof after the incident. I had to repeatedly demand the owner call me to discuss the incident; no one volunteered.
2. Zero Follow-Up on Thousands in Charges
I’ve spent thousands of dollars at Dogtown this year alone. After the incident, I emailed politely three times to discuss the bill and explore shared responsibility. No response—not even a courtesy acknowledgment. Good businesses don’t ghost clients.
3. Overcrowding & Dirty Conditions
The facility is severely overcrowded. Dogs urinate everywhere, and the smell is overwhelming. Hygiene standards are unacceptable for the prices charged.
4. Unreliable Pickup Service
I scheduled a mid-day apartment pickup while at work. No one showed up. I only found out after my building called because my dog was shrieking in a panic for hours. I was offered a paltry 10% off next visit—as if that excuses leaving a dog stranded.
Bottom Line:
Dogtown’s negligence put my dog’s life at risk, then stonewalled every attempt at resolution and didn't even call to check on how the dog was doing. If you value your pet’s safety and your money, take your business elsewhere. I’m only posting this to prevent another family from going through the same nightmare.
This daycare is completely irresponsible. I’ve seen dogs get aggressively attacked while staff just stand by and do nothing, even as chunks of fur are coming out. With multiple employees present, there’s no excuse for failing to protect the dogs. I would never leave my dog here.
I trust Colin, Julie and their staff unequivocally. They have cared for our dog since he was a puppy and he has always been so well taken care of. We are lucky to have them in our community!
This facility is a lifesaver!! I recently came to NYC with my 1 1/2 year old German Shepherd, who had only known life in the country. She was absolutely terrified of walking on a leash in the city, and I couldn't control her (she would try to pull me into every doorway we passed, and would frequently lunge at parked cars to try to seek shelter from the noise and commotion of the streets.) Although she had previously been well-trained and remained calm in my apartment, out on the street she was a terror. A few people in my building recommended Colin at Dogtown, and he has absolutely changed everything for me. After 1 session (and although I have had giant dogs for the past 30 years, I have to say that most of Colin's efforts were spent teaching ME, rather than teaching Stella, bc I was not doing the things that would make her feel secure and confident on the streets) she was a different dog! After our second session I knew that Stella would make in NYC - I am not sure that she will love it as much as she loves the country, but she can now walk down the street calmly and not with her tail between her legs. I was terrified that this would never happen! I also have used Dogtown in the past two months for their different daily daycare options, and that has been easy and very enjoyable for Stella - she can run around and play with other dogs there (I am not yet comfortable with using dog parks here.). This is really an amazing place with amazing people - cannot recommend it highly enough!!!
i think these photos speak for themselves but highly advise against using their grooming services - this is our 6 month old puppy with no matting (we brush him daily) … we asked for a trim and got him back completely shaved
Can’t say enough positive things about dogtown! The entire staff goes above and beyond for all dogs, from Colin (who is a dog whisperer) to Julie, Lidia, and particularly Ernesto who was able to wash and groom my sensitive and matted shih tzu into a brand new dog. The space is much larger and brighter than most dog centers in the city and I love walking by to see all the happy dogs in the windows!
Our puppy, Parker, always loves running to day care the moment she realizes that is where we are heading and comes home exhausted from playing w the other dogs. She also has been there as early as we could get her in with vax etc and it socialized her so well. We cannot say enough good things about DogTown and the owners are so helpful with any dog care questions we have.
Dogtown is an awesome place to leave your dog. You can tell the staff are well trained and care for the dogs! I met one of the owners, Julie and she was lovely, along with the rest of the staff.
I took my foster there for socialization while I was at work and he had a great time. Thank you Dogtown!

I’m so happy with my experience at Dogtown! Staff were so friendly, and Bianca did an amazing job grooming my dog. It’s so nice that the full groom includes all the things and even better was that they let my dog play with the many daycare dogs while he waited to get groomed/picked up (unlike other places that charge you to not have your dog in a crate while they wait for groom). Dogtown is our new go-to grooming and boarding place highly recommend!
Our big fluffy goof absolutely freaks out when we approach the doors and doesn’t want to leave at end of day. That’s about all the reassurance I need. Wonderful site, staff, and experience. Easy 5
Used Dogtown for grooming and they did a great job with our 15 years old, sometimes grouchy, terrier mix. Everyone working there is very nice and they clearly love dogs. The groomer went beyond! The girl at the front desk was so kind and friendly and showed me around. Even though we don’t usually board our old lady, I would definitely consider it if needed.
I've worked with Colin for years. He is both an incredible person and remarkable dog trainer. My dog, Bear, connected with him immediately. Truly a gift to work with him and his team.
Our dogs, Archie and Ernie, are obsessed with Dogtown! The owner/staff are incredibly friendly and accommodating. We would highly recommend Dogtown to any dog owner looking for a reliable, safe, and happy daycare/boarding facility in the West Village ☺️ (and no, my dog looks sad in the photo because he was upset that I was there to pick him up and not let him stay haha)
We and our pup are obsessed with Dogtown! They take the most amazing care of ALL the dogs including ours, who always wants to go right back in as soon as we pick him up (which has never happened before). Our new go-to spot, I trust them immensely, and the founder / staff are incredible (taught me how to use the best leash for our pup)
Our pup is obsessed with Dogtown - she’s truly in HEAVEN going there. Even when we walk by the storefront she refuses to keep going and begs to go inside. The staff are such kind, caring people and I know Bean is in GREAT hands! Highly recommend for dogs of all sizes.
