In a city where so many hardware stores seem identical, this place stands out with awesome customer service. I'd been fighting with a cross threaded piece of brass machinery nearby and stopped in looking for "the biggest, angriest wrench you have", and I had the piece of machinery on me. The owner stopped what he was doing, came out with his own wrench while I held another, and together we were able to unthread it with a LOT of effort. These guys saved my day and the work ticket.
Wow!!!! What an incredible store. Showed up yesterday looking for a sled for my two toddlers…had called ahead to confirm they had them in stock. Owner came out front to meet our stroller on the sidewalk, had even added a pull rope to the sled. Never experienced this kind of kindness as a mom in NYC. Will be returning whenever we can to support this great business. Their customers are also the kindest people around- one even offered to go into store for me and purchase anything we needed for the snowstorm.
This family owned store has been serving the community well for 100 years . You don’t get that level of service from the chain stores . These guys are accommodating and knowledgeable. Edward conscientiously sought out , and found an adapter for a kitchen faucet aerator with non conforming threads making it work !
My partner took our lamp to be repaired and they took over 2 MONTHS to fix it and then never even attempted to repair it. It was a simple repair and after checking on it twice...we thought, well this place is a local hardware store maybe they were just away for the summer so we checked back once again and they said next week. We just went back again and no one has even touched it.
If they don't want to do this type of work just tell your customer you’re not doing repairs at this time. We could have taken it somewhere else. What a wast of time.

Fixed my cherished ancient lamp from Paris. Also always have everything I need packed into their tiny space. So much better than going to Home Depot or Ace!

After struggling for three days to open a small part of my coffee machine, a friend recommended I come here. They were incredibly kind and helpful - they were able top open it for me and did not ask for anything.

They charged me quadruple what another store charges to make one of those sophisticated door keys. Didn’t know the price till the key was already made but in hindsight I should have refused to pay.

I never knew it was possible to fall in love with a hardware store! I have been a customer for over 10 years will find any reason to go here. The staff is so incredibly helpful. Any oddity you are trying to find, an old key or obscure light bulb they either have it or will order it for you. This store reminds me of Santa’s little workshop and the array of people you see here is part of what makes New York so beautiful. Thank you for being such a wonderful asset to our neighborhood!
Great neighborhood hardware store. You need a lamp rewired? This is the place to go. The work was excellent at a very reasonable price. You want to do it yourself? Well, they can help you with that too.

This is a great hardware store. They have practically anything you need; I recently went in to get a 3mm machine screw, .50 pitch, not expecting them to have it but they did. Plus, the service is outstanding. The staff is knowledgeable, professional and friendly. Top notch.

They are professionals who are very happy to help you even for small things. They have everything in the store and will help you find what you need. And it is not available there, they will tell you where to find it. So, stay local and go shop there for amazing service and good prices.
This morning I was taught how to test an electric outlet, and how to change my outlet an electrician put in by mistake for the correct one. He had me come around the counter and showed me on an outlet... And I got the job done! Thank you man if you're reading this, I did it.
This local family-owned hardware store is an absolute gem, with an abundance of products, knowledgeable staff, and outstanding customer service.. I recently visited the shop in search of hardware for a project I was working on, and forgot my wallet on the counter. To my relief, they promptly located my phone number, left a message for me, and securely stored my wallet until I retrieved it. I cannot speak highly enough of their exceptional service!
This is the best hardware store in NYC. I have been going here for 25 years and Warshaw always has the parts/tools/supplies that I need, plus everyone on the staff is super-knowledgeable about dealing with small-building repairs. I've gotten invaluable free advice over the decades on everything from split-spindle door knobs to replacement toilet parts to safer ways to de-ice a brownstone stoop without totally wrecking the masonry. You don't get that level of expertise — or neighborly good will — at big-box stores. Warshaw Hardware is an absolute gem.

This is the way hardware stores used to be, family run, chock a block with every hardware item you could need. Great for browsing. We’ve been coming here for years since we moved into Gramercy Park in the 80’s. And for service, forget about Home Depot or Lowe’s. They just drilled a hole in a stainless steel plate saving me a trip to a metal fabricator in Brooklyn. They did it in the store. It took all of five minutes. Can’t beat that.
This is the kind of neighborhood gem everyone wishes they had. The staff at Warshaw has helped us on a variety of projects and issues: from custom ordering soil and hand delivering it, to helping us fix an e-scooter with a hole in the tire, to everything in between.
The customer service is amazing, and the staff is incredibly knowledge. Megan (sp?) in particular has provided expert help in so many different areas and she truly seems to know it all. It’s not just about making a buck, she genuinely enjoys helping her customers and will always go above and beyond.

Absolute top hardware store! One stop shop. I have been going to Warsaw for over nine years. They are personable, they are SO knowledgeable and take the time to ask questions so you are purchasing the right merchandise. They are open early and if nothing else during quarantine have been the safety net for our neighborhood as were all overusing our homes. Thank you Warsaw!!
