What clients say about Morningside Park in New York (NY)

Morningside Park is a steep, beautiful escape. The waterfall and pond are hidden gems. It's got great energy with people playing basketball, chess, and just hanging out. Some areas feel a bit isolated, so I stick to the main paths. Worth checking out, especially with friends.

Beautiful park in Harlem. I take my dog here every morning. They have a great dog run for small and large dogs. Plenty of spacious grassy fields. A large baseball field as well. There is a beautiful little lake with geese running around freely! Tons of different playgrounds for kids, a large basketball ball court, and an outdoor gym.

This entire area needs to be cleaned correctly. The workers only pick up certain things. They need help and that help to actually pick up every garbage not just whatever they feel like picking up. Start time should be at sunrise on the dot everyday. There's flies, bugs, and rodents everywhere. There's dirty birds everywhere. All the benches and tables need to be power washed and clean regularly twice a week. Mondays and Fridays. No exceptions.

Great place to relax and be at peace. No city noise. Good neighbors, clean place, a good management. Best place to be at all times. And great for children!!!

This is a very enjoyable park near Columbia University, so many students will know it. Nothing fancy, but what is interesting is the stairs as it goes from high ground to low ground. Some of the land is reinforced with big stones. Also there is a pond with some small fountain. Very relaxing overall!

For the past six years or so, I have taken my kids to this beautiful park. Morningside Park is one of those places where it's all about the kids, and it's a part of my community. It is an experience to hear from new strangers who are discovering Morningside Park for the first time. Two white mothers who moved from downtown said, "I can't believe this is Harlem, and my kids love it up here. It's beautiful, and my kids can experience other cultures." I have also done photo shoots in this park as a Photographer with no problems.

While this park has many steep stairs, the bottom can be self contained and enjoyable by itself. There are plenty of playgrounds/ baseball fields/ walls for tennis. Above the stairs is an enjoyable view over the city. There's another layer of stairs to the edge of the park which provides additional sights over the city. There's a bit of mold/ moss on the public benches - otherwise it's a short block from north Central Park to extend a walk

Today I was looking for an area for my dog to run and I went to Grand Central and there was no dog park open and I started to do some research on Google and found this beautiful park and I don't regret it My dog enjoyed the walk, he shared it with other dogs and his friend with other dogs and most importantly I felt happy and calm so I recommend that you take him for a walk with your pet You won't regret it. I went today and it was quite cold, but I plan to go in the summer.

Well I though this park was not really big, i was weong. Its.. Huge.. and well maintained, the trees looks strong. Thee is somany things you can do here from playgrounds for dogs to athletic fields like basketball and there is a pond too. You can see a sunrises from the cliff that juts upward out of the park that provides a cool bird’s-eye view of the east area… But, the restroom are not really maintained, its dirty. Overall good place to spent your morning walking or running around

didn’t realize how large this park is but it is pretty huge and pretty well-maintained for the areas that i saw. Morningside Park stretches from 110th Street to 123rd Street between Morningside Heights and Harlem. The park hosts a bunch of features from playgrounds to athletic fields / courts to a waterfall & pond and more. to me, the coolest feature is the cliff that juts upward out of the park that provides a cool bird’s-eye view of Harlem to the east…after climbing a bunch of stairs that lead to 116th and Morningside Drive reveals a statue but more importantly an awesome sight above the park and to the east. winter probably isn’t the best time to enjoy most of the features of the park but i am looking forward to enjoying them during the warmer months of 2024…so should you!

A lovely place to wander around in any season. I was super lucky with the sunny weather and a good temperature in December! There is plenty of space for sports, cooking, or having a chat. The park is only a short walk from Central Park and is well served by the Subway and bus, e.g. 125th Street

Visited in the summer. Lovely place to visit especially with kids. There are playgrounds, geese, ponds with tortoises and spaces for sports. People can barbecue and have private events.
Aug 19, 2023 -
One of the unrated parks in Harlem, you can bring your children or special love one.. Great for filming and BBQ's
Dec 21, 2022 -
Narrow strip of land with steep slope, it took a great design to make it a neighborhood place for people of all ages to enjoy. Best in summer and fall where various outdoor activities are popular for the neighbors nearby, from BBQ to baseball game to outdoor cinema.

Beautiful park with morning sunshine. It feels so peaceful to hear children playing and see families gathering here for the weekend. It adds a hint of warmth and tranquility for life in this busy megapolis :)

A long thin park definitely worth a walk! Climbing up the few flights of stairs there will give you a lovely view as well and I would definitely recommend it. I have not done it at sunset but I assume it can be gorgeous too. Overall, definitely worth a calm and nice walk there to enjoy the park itself and the scenic view it gives over some parts of the city. If you walk it north to south you can then easily end your walk in Central Park which will be just nearby.

Fantastic park with a many visitors. A long thin park that’s half on a hill. The high side has lots and lots of stairs and meandering trails through the trees with views above and along giant stone walls. The lower, flat side has picnic tables and places to grill, a playground and athletic facilities, a sculpture …

A wonderful park in a wonderful part of town. Everyone has their own unique perspective on things, but I personally find that the Morningside area is such a great representation of the upper half of the island. When you explore the area around this beautiful park you'll find amazing and diverse architecture, culture, food, people, shops, and everything in between. While you're at the park be sure to walk up the stairs on the northwest side to the top, and follow the sidewalk south(ish - towards central park) to the statue for the best views. From there you'll be able to see the rooftops and buildings of almost all of Central and East Harlem, making it one of the very best views in all of Manhattan, and although it's wildly different from the scenery you'll get from the observation decks downtown, this one doesn't cost you a dime, and it's equally as rewarding because it gives you such a big look at what lies beyond Central Park.

Lovely park. Came here on a Saturday afternoon and it was full of children, families, etc. The slopes and staircases offer excellent views and a hilly charm rarely found in Manhattan. That’s said, it’s impossible to ignore the dangerous reputation, as folks are seemingly getting stabbed here monthly… So… great park in the day and with friends, but avoid solo, ESPECIALLY after dark.

First visit today after finding this beautiful place.I found it quite magical, fresh green trees, old stone surroundings and steep steps, the reclining Liberty, nice energy.A perfect place to zone out solo. Not sure of the lake, its very green but the wildlife are very healthy and happy 💚

A small park but because of that, it’s really nice and intimate. It has a dog park, basketball courts, baseball fields, children’s playground, many flights of stairs which can be used for personal cardio workouts, and my personal favorite, the “waterfall” area. Many entrances/exits too.

Such a wonderful place to go for a walk either with family ,friends or just by yourself. It is not a big park but it is a perfect spot to scape from the noises in the city. Now it has the statue of liberty. She will be at the 120th street entrance. . Do not forget to follow me 😊🤗enjoy your visit to this new attraction there .

One of my favorite parks in the city. It offers a casual stroll or climb the six stories of stairs for a more vigorous workout. Grilling in summer and sledding in winter. All courtesy of the NYC Park and Rec.

This is a great park. It's clean and it has several parks. There's a water park that opens in the summer. They also have swings and one basketball court. There are several slides, monkey bars and they have a tire swing. They also have public bathroom's. Highly recommended for families.

One of New York's many parks. This one is located close to Columbia University. The lay out id somewhat different than other parks, as it is long and narrow. It has some nice stairs with good views from the top. A popular place for running and dog walking. Like the nearby Riverside Park, this has a "wild" feel.
Nov 18, 2019 -
Very nice park and a couple of great playgrounds for the kids. Very close to the stunning Columbia University. Great views if you walk up that way.
May 03, 2019 -
Great playground at 123rd and Morningside Ave. With spider pyramid, swings, slides, and several water fountains in the summer. Tennis courts, basketball courts and picnic areas are next to it. Plenty of benches and picnic tables. You can easily spend two hours here with your little ones after school or on a lazy weekend afternoon!

Beautiful scenery and quiet walk. Lots of dogs but was not an issue all on leashes. The parks department has a strong presence and manages the park well the police have a meeting area at top of park where I saw sts. Signing officers books meaning strong PD presence aswell. Clean and well kept a nice local oasis of nature. Highly reccommend for quiet walks and reflections by the turtle pound at 110 st. It was frozen when I visit but I know I have seen them sunning.

It's a beautiful park all year round and has multiple play areas and places to relax, even a dog park! It can serve as a really good shortcut to places like the library or pinkberry, but during allergy season it's a bad idea to go- short story short, flowers and pollen everywhere. Also bugs, wild cats and exotic birds that escaped from the zoo.. all of this is still a great sight to see.
