What clients say about Wild Bird Fund in New York (NY)

The kindest ppl in this business. I have brought two pigeons to them so far, one was a baby. The process was simple and I have nothing but gratitude they exist Im going to volunteer and purchase things off of their Amazon wishlist list. I would tell me others to please give as we need to keep them around for many more years to come

I discovered an injured Red-tailed Hawk. I left a message. The Wild Bird Fund contacted me within five minutes. I followed the instructions on how to safely transport the injured hawk. I arrived within 30 minutes. The staff was awaiting my arrival.

My husband and I were so estatic and relieved that such a place as this existed. This place is a blessing to injured wild birds. We brought 2 pigeons on separate days. One of them was actually still a baby but had sticky stuff all over its wings. While the other bird was grown but had a broken leg. 😭😭 Thank goodness for this amazing place. Now those beautiful babies will be taken care of. The staff was wonderful as well and very informative.

After I left rescued pigeon there i got many texts from facebook pigeon group that wbf euthanize pigeons, so I feel very upset that i could’ve help pigeon some other way find vet or myself but I rushed to wbf out of suggestion, so if you find a pigeon and you really want to help him find a vet ! Don’t kill pigeon

They were super friendly and easy to deal with. They took a baby opossum in that I found and will keep it until it is healthy and big enough to release. 10/10 animal rehabilitation center

Utterly worthless company. I have had three different injured bird issues in NYC, two at work and one at home and each time I was directed to this group. They will do nothing to help you. They tried to redirect me to a facebook group for the issue. What an unprofessional joke company. You do not care about wildlife.

WBF is simply incredible. I brought a mourning dove with an injured wing and they took her right away, letting me know how the treatment process would be for her and setting my mind at ease. I’m so grateful to have an animal org that provides free care to wildlife in the city.

I had an amazing experience with the wild bird adoption center. The staff were incredibly friendly and made the entire process smooth and easy. When I brought in a hurt pigeon, they took excellent care of it and ensured it received the attention it needed. I’m so grateful for their dedication to helping these birds and for giving them a second chance at life.

The best people. Great location. I found a pigeon hiding by a bush next to Saks for two days. I finally couldn’t take anymore! The city had recently flooded and I was surprises she was still there. I got a box, scooped her up and headed to the upper east side. Intake wish quick and easy! Beautiful people!

Amazing organization. I took a very young pigeon there last week and they are swamped with people brining in birds at Thai time of the year. Please help if you can they do such amazing work

Took in baby bird Becky I found it was a fast process waited for two days but enjoyed the little time with this little fella or gal very thankful they took Becky in and hopefully she or him are doing great

I really appreciate that helpful organization. I have referred various friends to this place over the years when I heard about injured animals in Manhattan and I finally had to bring a pigeon in myself today. They are very friendly and helpful.

Truly amazing experience I had with the wild bird fund. Christine and staff were so kind made the experience so easy and gave me the assurance I needed that I did the right thing surrender during sick baby bird . Thank you so much. I can't wait to tell my friends and family about my experience with you guys and hopefully they donate to your cause.

Incredible experience! The staff was attentive and compassionate. I felt a sense of relief leaving the birds I found in their caring hands as they asked the right questions to ensure the birds' health. I was inspired to set up a small monthly donation because organizations like this truly make a difference for those who cherish the wellbeing of animals. ❤️☺️

We're happy to see that the America Robin bird will receive care, as shown in the photos and videos uploaded. We have faith that the bird will be well taken care of and will be released back into the wild in the future. We miss you and are sending love from Kevin and Nia.

They took the bleeding pigeon-🐦who we found this morning with cat’s bite- quickly and smoothly. Thank you so much for your kindness.

These people are so kind to help the birds in a city that doesn’t always appreciate them and they are literally a life saver. I found a sick looking pigeon sitting in a corner between two buildings. His eyes were closed and there was a scrape on top of his head. I remembered a friend and I talking about any places to bring injured pigeons and she mentioned Wild Bird Fund., so I called. You must leave a message but they are responsive and call you back. It’s a little frustrating because they have a loooong message and lots of prompts that seem to take forever but they do call back. They close at 7 and I found the bird at 5:30. I live in Queens and was concerned I wouldn’t get there in time but the lady I spoke to said they’d wait for me to get there.. I picked the little guy up with a towel according to their instructions and put him in a carrier and brought him in. I think he’ll be ok.

Thank you. We dropped off Mr. Tomato, an injured morning dove, a couple weeks ago. They quickly accepted him in his temporary box abode after a simple form submission detailing our interactions and other relevant informations. I found out about them through a friend and am grateful for the generous and selfless work that they do for our local wildlife. You can also apply to volunteer/intern here....And of course donate to WBF.

We found a injured bird with its neck at a weird angle so we caught it and brought it home. It could fly, but it kept on running into things when it got into the air currently eating/pigeon food and we will bring it to the wild bird place tomorrow.

They took in this beautiful pigeon I found injured on the side of the road. I hope he makes a speedy recovery. Can always count on them to take care of these beautiful creatures ❤️

The Wild Bird Fund is an amazing organization whose staff and volunteers care and look after birds and young / small mammals that are in need of expert care. They're an amazing resource and wholeheartedly thankful to have them in NYC. Definitely support them with a contribution, if you are able to.

I’ve been volunteering at the wild bird fund for about two years and it’s beyond a special space. Rita’s mission continues to help thousands of birds and native animals either to be re-released or sent to a sanctuary based on its needs. I constantly learn so much spending time helping out here and am so grateful it exists. The rehabbers are brilliant and birds are amazing.

The birds of this city owe a huge debt of gratitude to the amazing people who work here. NYC is the only major city in the developed world without a wildlife rescue. This private clinic provides a much needed service and has rescued thousands of birds and other wildlife.

I found a very injured, but lively and responsive, squirrel in a public park in Manhattan. 311 directed me to the Wild Bird Fund as a potential option for vet care, but I did have to physically catch the squirrel on my own. I was able to transport him down there and the handoff was easy; they think he may have been attacked by a hawk or falcon. Either way, I deeply appreciate this organization!

I dropped an injured fledgling off, a "Morning Dove". A woman sitting out front took the little birdie from my grasp and said not to worry. She also said that they're a non for profit organization and have saved many birds. Needless to say that i was totally put to ease and happy that the little birdie was in good hands. I was then told to fill out some short forms and was given a reference number to get period updates on its progress. What a good service and continue doing what you do!

I started volunteering here. It's been a great experience so far. I've met a duck, a seagull, grackles and a ton of pigeons. If you're looking for a chance to help some birds in need or love animals or are thinking about working as a vet/vet tech, give this place a chance. They do a lot of good work. Never thought I'd get used to the sights and sounds here but it's oddly soothing.

Any non profit that helps animals for me is heaven. I found a little Baltimore Oriole girl that fell off her nest. Took care of her for a week and I was getting too attached had to bring her to a trusted place and this is it. Their unconditional love and willingness to save & rehab wildlife animals is amazing. My baby girl is not only healthy but also in good hands. Now I have to let go.

Wild bird rescue facility that is one of NYC's most important resources -- this is an amazing group of dedicated wildlife experts and volunteers who are literally lifesavers for birds in need. I have brought pigeons and sparrows here, and am always impressed by their knowledge and compassion. They do not charge anything, so please donate to WBF if you can -- they do such terrific work!

This place is wonderful. They take in injured birds (mostly pigeons) and rehabilitate them. Having a place like this in NYC is a blessing, especially for the birds who otherwise would not survive. They answered questions regarding a couple of pigeons who had babies on our terrace. As of now, one of the babies who were born on our terrace found a mate. They consider it home and come every day for some delicious birdseed and fresh water. These birds are monogamous and stay together for life. Most people wouldn't want anything to do with these birds, but these two have stolen our heart. The guidance we recieved from the wild bird fund really helped us understand how to take care of them. It's a very special place, and we've fallen in love with these birds. How could we not love them when you see a little bird get excited when they hear our voice or see us (they look for us through our terrace window in the morning when they're hungry.) The wild bird fund is a very special place. We're glad that they are here in NYC.
