Terrible experience — never going back.
We went to this place today and saw a few empty tables, including one that said reserved. I asked politely if we could also make a reservation since we were waiting for two more people, and the staff said no. We sat down at a table, there were still two other empty six-person tables. About 10 minutes later, after my friends arrived, I went to hang our coats, and when I came back, the same staff member had removed our two small children from the table and was preparing it for people who arrived after us.
This was extremely disrespectful and unacceptable. There were other empty tables available, and touching our belongings and asking our kids to move without our permission was beyond rude. I would never come back here and definitely do not recommend this place to anyone.
When I went here I didn't know what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised. The workers were all incredibly nice & patient. They have a good number of things to choose from and my 10 yo daughter had a lot of fun. We went on a Saturday and it wasn't crazy crowded. It's a bit pricey but well worth it for a fun Saturday. We will definitely be going back!

sweet, courteous and extremely helpful staff. The adults, and kids ages 4 - 11, had a GREAT time
We look forward to visiting you again and in the meantime will tell our friends (in Queens, Brooklyn and NJ) that it is definitely worth the trip!!!!!!!

This is a great place to bring your friends or colleagues for some art time. You can color pottery, statuettes, do mosaics and paint a canvas. They also have a separate room for parties, you can bring your own food and have the music on. The staff is great at organizing the party. They were super resourceful at helping me organize the event and I highly recommend this place to everyone!
Nice place but a little pricey. A picture frame runs $34. I can buy a picture frame from target with paint way cheaper. Not a large selection to chose from. Staff is friendly.
I took my three and half year-old granddaughter to this facility about a month ago.
The attendant at the cashier station was very rude from the very beginning. The first thing she did, when I paid her $72.00 for 3 small cheap looking white clay figurines that my granddaughter wanted, she returned my change with the receipt and slammed it down outside the counter to where I was standing without saying a word.
Subsequently, after we did some hands-on painting to one of the cheap looking white clay figurines my granddaughter ran to the sink to wash her hands and she shouted at her to “stop running”. Really, she is three and half years old, and, I was right behind her.
Next, when we had finished painting one of the cheap looking white clay figurines and took it to her for drying, my granddaughter stopped to play with the little plates on the wall and she shouted again at my granddaughter to stop playing with the plates. Really, she is three and half years old.
The final straw came when we had finished painting the last piece of cheap looking white clay and took it to her for drying; within two minutes she brought the piece back in a paper bag and handed it to us without saying a word. As I stepped outside between the two doorways, I noticed this terrible chemical smell coming from the bags. I went back inside and told her how awful the smell was, and, that the smell gave me an instant headache. I also told her that I felt she did not give the figurines enough drying time, and, because of that, the chemical smell was more intense. I asked if she could let it dry and I we’ll come and pick it up after my errands around the area - she refused. But what worried me the most was while I was speaking with her, she kept shouting at my three-and-half year-old grandchild, who was fidgeting with her mask, as any three-year-old would do, to put her mask on and proceeded to tell her she had to leave the place if she is not going to keep it on. I could not believe the way this attendant kept shouting at my three-year-old grandkid throughout our stay. The way we were treated that day was inexcusable behavior by this attendant and we will never return to this place ever again. A word of advice to you, especially if you are minority, to be cautious of going to this place.
Also, we were seated by the entrance door and another assistant was cleaning the doors and left all the doors open, and that day was 20 degrees outside. We were freezing!
Note: When I got home, I had to leave the figurines pieces outside for about three hours in the hallway for them to dry and the chemical smell to dissipate.
We celebrated our daughter’s 8th birthday party at Little Shop of Crafts and it was INCREDIBLE!! Joy, and her entire team literally spread joy, enthusiasm, creativity, fun, kindness and laughter to every person who walks through the door! Our daughter and her friends had a blast creating beautiful crafts, face painting and dancing. It is so astonishingly impressive how this team of amazing women keep the kids interested and so happy with such freedom and, at the same time, structure. Everything flowed perfectly due to their seamless precision. Thanks so much Little Shop for your Big success!
I’m literally writing this review as I’m sitting next my daughter completed her craft here. Little Shop of Crafts was a random Google search during brunch when my daughter wanted to do something with art for her birthday activities.{Allow me to insert we’re visiting from South Carolina as her birthday gift- never heard of this place.}. For this first experience, it checked the boxes I was looking for: affordable, variety in craft options, OPEN ON A SUNDAY, and fun for my birthday girl! The staff were super helpful in explaining the (simple) process and was welcoming. Should we ever come back to visit NY, we will definitely be back!
I love ❤️ it‼️ My daughter told me that the shop was still around and how many great memories she had off when I took her and my son when they where young. Now she planning to take my granddaughter! Lovely 🥰! Oh! I still have the craft one of that both my and son made many, many years ago!

The ability to accommodate all ages and different situations without becoming overwhelmed or frustrated was impressive. Wonderful place! Brought my 2 little girls to paint paint pottery and we all had a great time. The ladies who work at the shop were extremely sweet and accommodating, and the venue felt very welcoming and relaxing. Will definitely go back!
We just had a birthday party yesterday at this amazing place. Their birthday parties are super fun for kids cause they have face painting, dancing time, plus their plaster craft activity.
Totally recommend it 100%. The staff is so friendly!. They were very professionals since the beginning. They really took care of everything I wanted for the party.
The day of the party, I didn't even have to do anything, they had everything ready ahead of time , their staff made sure the kids had the best fun!.
I've planned birthday parties every year in nyc and this is the first time that the staff has had everything ready for me ahead of time. That's why I super recommend it. If your kid likes art and crafts this is the place to book!
Easy drop in service. Staff is great. You just pay for the piece you want. Paint is free, and can take as long as you need, all you pay for is the piece you’re painting. Perfect for an arts and crafts lover on a rainy non-school day.
This is a lovely neighborhood place and I hope this stays here forever. All the staff and management are super nice and accommodating. We dropped in to make something and my 5 year old wound up staying for 2 hours. They are friendly here and won't rush you out. Very organized and clean. The UWS needs more of these neighborhood gems.
This place was well on its way to a 5 star review...
But it turned into a sad, expensive and disappointing experience for me and my 7 year old and one and a 1/2 old daughter. A very uneducated, rude and entitled employee approached me and my one year old daughter for how she was pouring the paint directely on her own work. “Excuse me, she can’t do that” she said...
She turned her back on us after I asked her to stop for the tone was so unbecoming and harsh... approaching us unkindly and clearly out of place..
This is a place where you should be able to enjoy.
I hope that you don’t cross path with this particular employee. The other girls were fine and correct even when the tension rose up during my adamant complaint.

I had the best experience here. I Came with my family and we all loved it we painted pottery pieces that takes a week to get back and the staff Mayelin and Lisa were the best helpers. I definitely recommend it for anyone that’s looking to craft with the family or yourself.
I’m a regular at this place, I’m usually here at least 3 times a month and I never ever had a complaint. The staff are extremely attentive and sweet. My kids love coming here because of the staff. Prices are reasonable for its location. I recommend this place to every parent because it’s a great place to bring the kids on rainy days.
I took my nephew here and we had an amazing time. The staff is excellent and incredibly polite and patient. While we still doing our crafts my nephew and I were already planning our trip back. They're worth every penny. I spent weeks looking for a place to do crafts and I'm so glad with the choice I made. Thanks for the great experience. 🙂
Little Shop of Crafts is a phenomenal date spot for artistic and non-artistically inclined people alike! You pick out a Premade ceramic piece and paint it however you like. You’ll have to return a second time to pick it up when it’s done.
Pros: a fun spot, with music always on. They let you come back to work on the same piece as often as you’d like.
Cons: Cost. Expect to pay $30-45 per person (avg).
A great place to try out at least once.
Went in for the first time, and had an amazing time. I went in with 3 kids, the oldest being 6. They wasted so much paint, the price seemed more than fair. The 6 year old started crying because he was not able to paint what he had envisioned. One of the girls that works there, sat down with him, and worked with him to make his vision a reality. He was so happy and proud of himself when we left. Worth every dime, with great service, and great pieces to choose from. Would recommend and go again, and again.
The entire experience was great. Items can be a little pricey but I think it's worth it. Staff is so friendly and helpful. On certain days they offer free wine while crafting. I really enjoyed myself and will definitely visit again.
Had a girlfriends crafting night here. Staff were super friendly and helpful. They serve you wine while you craft. :) And on certain nites they have adult night so its a great date spot. I took a star off because items are pricey. I had a groupon thank goodness!
Great place to spend the weekend. It's so relaxing and fun! Pick your item, paint it, and depending what it is you can bring it home that same day or go a week later and pick it up after they glaze it. I made a mosaic trivet and it turned out awesome. This place can be pricey but you're really paying for the experience.
