River Run Playground in
New York (NY)

I'm from beautiful San Diego and we don't have anything like this interactive playground. The sandbox shaped like a sand sculpture was awsome!! pavement around the play area could be smoother. Kids don't seem to mind!

Good option as a playground if your kids like playing with water and sand. The sand pit is pretty big and there is a tiny stream that runs through a part of the playground. We spent a good hour there with our toddlers and they had fun. There are also some trees so it’s a good option when you need shade on a hot summer day.

Great playground with nice water feature in the summer but not great shade

I love the water feature giving the playground its name and there are plenty of features (including a sandbox) to keep children of many ages happy. I'm very happy to have this playground in my neighborhood. There is more sun here than other playgrounds but still plenty of shade.

Trust-worthy stores! Highly recommended! Toyota Corolla is my car doing maintenance there.

This is one of our favorite parks so far along the river side. There are bathrooms, lots of swings, lots of open playground area, as well as a large sandbox, and seesaws. The kids spent three hours here and managed to not get bored.

An old but we’ll designed summer playground on the edge the of the upper west side. A park in the park. Great summer park as there is a simple sprinkler that has a path carved out to make a little stream and shallow pool at the end. I’m pictured sitting by the sand portion and here the sculptures that create the pit as imaginative and full of details that tie in the water aspect of the park like channels to dump the water to make a water fall and rivers. Has swings and a regular Jungle gym. Also bathrooms.

Good variety of activities, but not well maintained. Broken fence that children climb through, lots of trip hazards and rough surfaces.

Was just there for Mulchfest 2023. Nice bathrooms. Easy to get to by bike. On a weekend I prefer Riverside Drive. Too bad they are planting invasive non-native Italian arum.

I just found this park. It's a nice one. It is set into the back a little so it's a little hard to see at first. I'm not big on sandboxs in NYC, but this park has a nicely designed one, it has see-saws, a good amount of swings and space to run around. 5 stars because the kids loved it. The bathroom isn't horrible, it was warm, but from what I noticed the toilets are short ones

Look, I didn't go in the playground but the kids in their looked like they were having fun. I think that these kids might be dumb because if I was them I would be enraged as there was absolutely NO river inside the park. There was one nearby so maybe call it :park near a river that you can't run along unless you leave this park" I don't know, I'm not in the park naming inside. @stevecohenfun

Fabulous playground with a great rock climbing area in front. Great for kids and people like me who are just bigger kids we'll be back

Wonderful playground, the "river" is so cute! Great for all ages, there are big and small slides and swings, seesaws,, climbing structures and plenty of shade for the parents to relax. Bathroom facilities are exceptionally clean for a park. Definitely would recommend!!!

Nice playground with water sprinkles, sand bank, shadows and others. Not crowded.

Nice playground for your tots, if you have any. Seems safe and the bathrooms are open but bring your own water as the nearby fountain is shut off.

The River Run playground is very nice. It located near 83rd street. It has a spacious bathroom. It has a sandbox area, a swings area, a slides area, and the water play area with a river. The kids put their toys on the water river to make boats. So cute! There are a lot of shades to keep me cool and comfy during the summer.

An excellent children's playground, always full of kids regardless of the weather. Lacks only a water fewature, but the kids certainly ain't complaining.

This is a wonderful playground, year round even (which is saying something). Safe to let your kid run around because it's gated so they can only go so far. Great, very safe, play structures and a bathroom right there. 12/10 would recommend.

Great view on Hudson River. I like the smell of the river in the morning.

I love this part of the city. The park is amazing, every time I go there the park is really clean and full of people. Great place for kids because they have amazing playground area. You can go there and take a long walk or you can run. The views are amazing and great place for good pictures. Love it.

A little bit on the dirty side, but an awesome space for kids to play. Absolutely LOVE the river. Kids love it as well lol ?

A great playground,. There is plenty of space, some classic features like seesaws, a deep sandbox decorated with sea creatures and chutes to pour water through them, and a little mini Hudson River to stomp in.

GREAT playground with updated play equipment, an epic sandpit, and a fun water feature. See saws, sprawling play structure, tons of swings, and clean public restrooms with the playground area. The biggest downside is the lack of shade. River Run can be brutal on a hot and sunny summer day.

A great playground for toddler's. Although it can get a little busy with after school programs and childcare center's bringing tons of kids, it is a great playground. They have library book readings here. And in the summer the river and water are a perfect way to cool down.

Another nice playground along the river side park. The kids can play with water. It is a must go place during hot days.

I like riverside park for bike rides or walking. It's not overcrowded like other parks in the city. Overall, it's pretty clean and there are a lot of playgrounds to visit. I live nearby so it's nice and convenient for fresh air.

This is a great place to hang out in the summer on a nice day. Run, bike, walk or whatever on a path that runs the entire length of the west side of Manhattan along the Hudson river. There are bikes for rent, on 79th street there is an open bar/restaurant by the marina, further down there is another outdoor bar on the water. Great place to people watch, work out, or just catch some rays on a nice afternoon.
