Shekia Taylor knows what she's doing. I needed help with a bank error that I was unable to get fixed over the phone. She was patient, listened to what I had to say, and took a personal interest in helping me. She's a gem. I would recommend Shekia to any of my friends and colleagues in need of banking services.
Colin Hu a Relationship Banker was incredibly rude and unhelpful person to speak with. I highly recommend you do not schedule any appointments with him.
Usually, I expect lower quality of service when it’s a company as big as Chase. However, the team of Bonnie, Naira, Sadik, and another associate were able to solve my online account issue that the 800 support couldn’t solve. The 800 support kept ping ponging me to different departments, but luckily, the team at Chase Astor Place were able to rectify the situation and keep me as a customer.
The staff is alright.
The lobby is messy.
There's a few people that have helped me here before and were friendly.
The security guards let homeless men sleep in the lobby over night so when I go to make a withdrawal from the atm I have to step over urine bottles and potato chip wrappers along with many cell phones plugged into the outlet with cords everywhere. Not to mention also watching my back so I don't get mugged.
Terrible customer service from a what appeared to be a senior teller, an older woman, short burgundy/black hair. Unnecessary attitude when I approached her to make a withdrawal from the window. This happened on July 2nd around 935am at the Astor Place location.
She was giving the attitude of someone who doesn't want to be at work before the holiday and someone who has no empathy to be working as a teller for a prestige bank.
Very upsetting.
As chase popularity has grown the customer service has plummeted. You can’t get anything beyond the most basic level of service. Even as their top client, Private Client, with over 6 accounts, if you ever need something, a document notarized, a transfer made, an account made, the answer is No sorry. This branch and all the branches the same. I’ve had much better service at multiple competing banks.

Becacue of the business, I've been visited so many Chase branches in Manhattan. This branch is the WORST!
Chase upgraded my account and started charging me monthly. I came to this branch to switch it back. They want you to wait for forever to change your account back.
What is worse is employees on the floor have unbelievable attitude. It feels like they are doing you a huge favor by doing their job.

Would not let me open an account because of my name. They Said they would call me but never did. Made No effort of trying to call their supervisor or the main bank.
Despite having 2 pieces of official government photo ID, the people at this terrible bank did not let me conduct a simple wire transfer which should be able to be done fully online in the first place. Banking in this country is a disgrace.
Awful experience. The associate called Danial who opened an account for me was terribly disrespectful. No smile at at and wouldn’t want to explain anything to me. He asked me to just sign my name on all documents even without telling what are those about. He kept sighing the whole time as he was super annoyed by me. Highly don’t recommend going here.
Worst customer service ever. Lied about not being able to perform service when the staffs are not attending to ANY customer. Then scheduled me for another branch, where they performed the said service by a teller.
Chase Banker Mr. Mohammed Khan at the Astor Place location went beyond in service in helping to print business cards at short notice. He leveraged his relationship with a nearby Staples to ensure I had cards on hand in time for a networking event, at no cost.
Sam Zheng was a great mortgage adviser. We were recommended to connect with him by
our broker. While Sam does not specialize in co-ops, he was still able to assist us. As we were first time buyers, Sam was able to answer all our questions and addressed all our concerns patiently. He was not only quick and efficient, but also extremely honest with his expert knowledge in the home mortgage process. He was able to put us at ease and made us feel comfortable with the entire loan process. As the covid-19 pandemic halted and delayed the closing for several months, he was able to efficiently reproduce the necessary documents and renew the loan application.
Sam Zheng is a fantastic home lender adviser, he does not disappoint! We are grateful to have worked with him.

The Chase Bank at 26 Astor Place is very nice and the staff is polite and friendly.
The branch is a very friendly neighborhood bank.
They also have safe deposit boxes for rent.
This branch also have a few ATM.
One of the worst customer service experiences in my life. I went to this branch twice but both times failed to get what I needed because of the appalling service. Both times, the consultants were not helpful and instead very condescending when I was asking questions about my options. They both failed to provide the information I required. Not to mention the second guy was constantly distracted and told me he needed to go to lunch.
i tried to exchange some old (2006 version) 100 dollar bills into smaller bills but the clerk explained to me its not possible due to security reasons. she herself had been a victim once, when she gave a client the bills, that client refused that she had received the money.. i think this bank can close down with employees like this that can't even make up good stories to refuse to do business that does not benefit them.. welcome to exchange dollar bills worldwide though
I was watching the bank teller washing her monitor and her keyboard for ten minutes while I was the only guy in line just for her to tell me that she can not help me in an arrogant voice. Follow up! Went to one block away #citibank on Broadway and Astor who were more then happy to help within a minute
Waited in front of empty cashier window for 10 minutes. Then a big problem was for cashier to give me my money in clean unmarked bills? Really? Is it that hard of a request from bank ??!!
I gave this place two stars instead of 1 bc it at least offered A/C. Nobody greeted me nor asked me for help when I walked in but the 4 people after me were welcomed in. There was only 1 teller while the other two girls just sat in the back chit chatting. Why am I waiting for 20 minutes for something that literally took me 1.5 minutes to obtain? I'm just going to stick to the ATM machines here so I don't have to get disappointed again by service.
I was reluctant to go here to open a checking account because of the horrible reviews, but I was very pleasantly surprised. Vanessa helped me open my account and was courteous and very helpful even though I asked a lot of questions. She walked me through step by step and told me about the different options I could choose from. The other employees were equally pleasant.
This branch is so terrible. Terrible service. Go in the morning and there's just one counter open so you can be sure to wait 20 minutes at least just to be served. Some employee are nice though, but others are rude.
Every time I have to come to this branch, I'm considering switching bank. Is it the overall chase experience or this branch in particular?
We were victims of skimming device at this branch's ATMs and when we reported it to the bank, where our accounts are set up, and they were less than interested in assisting us. They deemed the transactions to be authorized despite 5 continuous withdrawals ranging between $30-$500?! When we protested, we were told we'd need to raise a police report and get them to access the security footage. Why can't the bank access its own footage? Why don't they take ownership of their own security and attempt to look out for their customers? We're also concerned about fellow victims of the same branch assuming they wouldn't have targeted us specifically but the bank does not seem to care in the very least.
