Surprise surprise: another spoiled food story. Rotten as soon as I opened it, but refused to exchange because it fell outside their 24 hour window. Always overpriced. Garbage store.
Feb 09, 2026 -
I found a cockroach and when I asked for management to inform them they told me I was imagining things. Store manager got aggressive and walked away. Really poor approach to customer service. When the big stores take over and places like this eventually shut down, independent store owners will moan and complain, but when they cannot get hygiene and basic service correct, it’s no wonder why they don’t stay in business.
Jan 02, 2026 -
Zero stars. Expired food on the shelves. Prices are inconsistent, even for same product. Do not support this store! It needs to be shut down
Dec 20, 2025 -
Terrible food. Worse customer service. I bought raw chicken on a Friday. Opened it by Sunday, and it was rotted. I went back to try to get at least an exchange. Two of the cashiers immediately defensive asking for the receipt, as if I would anticipate needing to return my chicken. I show them THIER store label with date used by 12/16. Two days left until best by date. They said it didn’t matter and 48 hours later is NOT “their problem”. I asked to speak with the manager. There is no manager. How hilariously convenient. Never shopping at this overpriced scant store
Dec 14, 2025 -
Never shop here for fresh cut fruit as most time the fruit is spoiled and the so call manager will fight you if you go there to complain about the spoil fruit that there selling and over all is a unpleasant experience

This place customer service overall has got to be the ultimate worst to ever deal with! I brought about $45 in groceries the Sunday (8/31) before the holiday Labor Day, I got home and opened my 4 packs of Perdue brand chicken and found it to be slimy, black & blue followed with a horrible spoiled smell…So I go to the establishment on Tuesday to make a manager aware of what happened & to discuss a store credit not even a refund (store credit for future) soon as I got there to the front register…the guy on register is totally annoyed with me the minute I asked to speak to a manager...he literally gave I don’t care energy & start making excuses as to the managers in a meeting and no one can step out to speak with me quickly….then also goes on to tell me “I’m telling you right now your not getting a refund without product.” In response I’m already pissed like that’s not even what I’m asking for. I’m like “You guys are selling spoiled product with dates that make it seem fresh. This is totally absurd that no one can speak on the matter with me.” So I waited around to speak to a manager finally got one & was told partially the same that I should’ve brought spoiled chicken back to the store on a Tuesday from a Sunday. It’s policy blah blah blah Be Very For Real! I’m showing him photos of the chicken with the date and time stamp including my receipt of purchase & I’m like sir if I knew you guys were open on the holiday I would’ve came here but it’s like all of that is irrelevant because he tells me he can’t go based off photos that mean any customer can come and say this…He only then becomes apologetic when I tell him I’m a frequent customer so I’m very shocked with the handling of the matter. He starts telling me about policy again! All of that went in one and ear and out the other because he clearly wasn’t getting my point that they sold spoiled rotten chicken with a incorrect date on it. This is a health matter! My holiday was screwed I was hosting a party & had to spend double the day of to replace the spoiled chicken & still they are ducking my calls to resolve the matter. At this point I don’t even want the store credit anymore…everyone there seem to give a screw you attitude & super shady as if customers are lying about what they are selling. Very tasteless! Never returning to this place. They need the health department to pay them a visit ASAP!

Great food and salads, friendly staff, one 'accident' with moldy cheesecake was handled very well and correct, special thanks to Glennys. Better variety of food then f.e. TraderJoes, recommended!

Questionable food quality of life in this establishment is undeniable The staff fit the way the food is going to be. huge beautiful store serving the area but has no interest in the customer's or appreciation for the handling of food. these hands shouldn't be placed were the majority of spenders are on fixed and low income the food and not limited too meats, dairy, are spoiled out of failer to properly store and distribute... failure on Management's end I've had several bad experiences from this establishment with no resolution the only response is to get something else? but at this point the consumer is standing on principle and shouldn't have to fold for a grand mistake on the establishment end. the manager is rude and unwavering doesn't respect his customers or the any Rights... unfortunately its cut tthin for the people of this area who have to stretch what they have and buy from here...they dont stand by thier name store or products and thats why we're faced with a no refund policy... We have too do better But as of know avoid this astablishment but if need be ⚠️..

Today July 22nd 2025 my mother an I was shopping . The whole time a worker followed us around the store to see if we’d pay for the things inside of our cart. When my mom called him out on it he just smirked and stood there. Last time I’ll ever step foot in there. If you’re black shop somewhere else !
Jul 22, 2025 -
I want to make zero star if I can. My wife ate a moldy chocolate bar we bought from this store. When we went back to request for refund, the seller didn’t say sorry and doesn’t seem to care at all. Bad experience
May 31, 2025 -
Decent supermarket. Similar to others although a little smaller and more expensive than nearby competitors. I only come here when I’m in the area and only need a couple of things.

“Warning Please Avoid this market if you are Disabled, use a walker, wheelchair or cane” I have been coming here with a client for 8+ months now and theres always an issue with space. This store does not accommodate correctly for anyone using a wheelchair, walker or cane. The its a gamble on whether or not the isles are packed with boxes or not. If the tall guy is constantly moping leaving wet floor signs directly in the middle of the isle and walk ways. If the are ladder all throughout the store in isles or next to the ramp. At first I thought it was a coincidence when I came here, that every time I push my client to the store mopping, changing signs or restocking just randomly happened. Now after months of experiencing the same behavior it’s deliberate. They decide to change window signs on the ramp when I arrive or leave at least twice a month. They very rarely mop the ramp when I arrive. If I hadn’t changed my shoes Im sure I would’ve had an accident going down with the wheelchair. This place is awful. If you have enough energy to go to trader joes or even Target. Please do, so you don’t have to constantly avoid 6-8 wet floor sings. Also be aware it smells like a Port-a-Jon in the butcher area. I repeat if you use a wheelchair, walker or cane. Avoid this place at all costs. It’s not worth almost slipping or using all your energy to avoid the signs. If I could give this place a zero I would. They need to be reported to BBB. Talking to management does nothing.
Apr 13, 2025 -
This place sells spoiled food and they refuse to exchange it. Last Saturday I bought some mascarpone cheese. I went to use it on Sunday and to my surprise, the cheese was moldy. Came back to the supermarket and the cashier refused to take it back after "speaking to a manager". $5 bucks wasted. Walk a few more steps and go to Trader Joe's, your money (and your health) will thank you.

Fire management, or get a new owner, please! How is this store still in business??? Rotten produce and meat, horrendous inventory management (many products that expired months ago, others you simply cannot find one week to the next), and the final kick in the stomach: everything is 50% more expensive than other stores nearby. This neighborhood needs better.
Dec 01, 2024 -
It’s okay, pretty expensive. A decent at best neighborhood store. My biggest pet peeve is that they ask too many bag related questions at checkout (how many, what kind, double or single, etc.). It crosses the border of being environmentally conscious to being annoying. I’m glad this isn’t the only grocery store in the neighborhood.
Aug 11, 2024 -
The meat section always made us a little uncomfortable here, but dismissed it. We bought some chicken and it was off, so we went back to return it saying that it had spoiled. The employee said that that doesn’t surprise her. So when we asked to speak to the manager he admitted they were having issues with their refrigeration. They knew the issue but continued selling spoiled product. Really unacceptable with temperature sensitive product and completely disgusting.
Jul 06, 2024 -
This place smells rotten in all corners! The fact that flies are in the bread cabinet is disgusting! The workers doesnt care that breads has mold on it. I got very sick from eating a sandwich from there. Doctor said food poisoning . Cross contamination. The deli lady behind the counter doesnt change her gloves after she touches her nose or sneezes.
Jun 23, 2024 -
This may be the worst grocery store in NYC. The produce and fresh products are stale, rotting, or expired. The produce is truly disgusting - NYC DOH should actually look into this. We’ve gotten sick on meat from here. If you dig into the back of all the shelf stock, you may be able to find a yogurt that doesn’t expire tomorrow. And to top it all off, they have the audacity to charge higher prices than any other store in the neighborhood for this disgusting food. One star for the fact that the staff are really kind and helpful.
Mar 25, 2024 -
They’re fine for probably canned goods that have a shelf life of forever. However their produce has almost always been stale. My husband has even picked up cereals from here that were past their expiry dates. They don’t check their inventory for expiry and probably don’t have quick enough inventory turn over. Their inventory goes stale and if ur not checking expiry dates you’ll most probably take home expired food. And then complaining to them is useless coz they’re done with you after the sale. They have no integrity in accepting that they sell u expired products. I only buy here in absolute desperate situation
Feb 11, 2024 -
Everything is overpriced and the quality sucks. I’ve gone here a handful of times and on two separate occasions I purchased spoiled meat. I suspect they changed the sell by date on unsold meat. Previously you had to ask at the register for plastic bags for fruits and vegetables and they limited you at 3. If they are so cheap that they restricted access to plastic baggies for veggies, I can only imagine what they do when more expensive products are still around beyond their sell by date. I paid $12 for a pound of (spoiled) organic ground beef. At Trader Joe’s you get the same organic (unspoiled) meat for $6.99.
Sep 11, 2023 -
I went back yesterday just to see if they cleaned the place up. NOPE. It smelled like someone took a heaping, warm dump in the middle of the meat aisle. There were 4 other people in the meat aisle all holding their breathe to quickly grab what they needed and leave. Still pretty sure they have a room over by that aisle with a bunch of bodega cats or they hide their litter box over there. Also, as said in other reviews - their sales prices are not always reflected in the register. Pay very close attention when they ring you up. IE - sign says 10/$10 for Banquet dinners and wound up being $1.79 each at the register. I told the cashier and they corrected it, but super sneaky business practices. As far as that smell goes, I think I actually am going to contact the health department after this review and encourage them to go see for themselves.

This place has an odd layout, but can’t really complain. It’s a small space for a grocery store. Though I will say that they could’ve done a better job with product placement. Odd that popular products are found in cramped areas. Also, the items are VERY pricey. Only good thing I can say it that the staff are nice, and stuff is always being restocked (except for the meat) I’ve been here 3 years dealing with it. You’re better off shopping at Wegman’s, like I have since it opened. Trader Joe’s is always an option, but they close around 20:00 (8pm), whilst Wegman’s closes at 23:00 (11pm). They’re staff are also very friendly and helpful.
Dec 01, 2022 -
This place should be called Over-Priced Not Fresh Market. Their produce is always either on the verge of going bad, or already is. Their meat section is consistently under-stocked and what is left is also almost always not fresh. Even for “imperishable” items, would recommend checking the expiry dates before adding it to your basket. The only nice thing to say is that the staff is generally pleasant and helpful.
Nov 17, 2022 -
Everything in this store is overpriced, much more than Trader’s Joe and other grocery stores. Most of the vegetables and fruits are not fresh at all and some bakeries and cookies are expired and still on the shelf! It’s hard to say that the staff are friendly. The only good thing in this store caught my eyes it has a handicapped access ramp. Not recommended!
Apr 25, 2022 -
Pros: The staff who greets people at the door is always nice. They also have b a bunch of niche items you can’t find elsewhere. Cons: I got twice rotten food from this shop already… Would like to visit more if stuff is really fresh and not overpriced. Hoped this was a solid place to shop instead of going to farther places like Trader Joe’s.
Apr 19, 2022 -
This place is overpriced and their food is far from fresh. Whenever I've purchased grapes here, they last one day in the fridge before they begin to mold. Most of the time their apples are bruised and/or rotting, but you can't tell at first glance because they place them with the better looking side up. I purchased chicken from here the last weekend of January. The sell by date was 2/3/2022. A day later I couldn't figure out why my kitchen was smelling strange or where it was coming from, to later learn that it was the chicken going bad BEFORE the sell by date. I've previously complained to the cashiers, but they act slightly surprised and then shrug it off as they continue ringing up the rest of your items. As to price gouging, it was hilarious to see a hand-typed sign taped to the registers last year by management claiming that they are not price gouging, that prices are high due to supply chain disruptions, implying that all supermarkets are experiencing a similar plight. Yet the same jar of Mayonnaise that was $10 there, was only $4 and change at a supermarket not too far away during the same time period. They charge higher for popular selling items but claim it's not price gouging?! Needless to say, I am done shopping here and management needs to stop trying to take advantage of the people living and working in the pricey apartments in the surrounding neighborhood. We see you!

We are visiting from Scottsdale AZ. We stopped at the store to get some basics. The place is organized and have a clean display of produce, greens and meat. Easy check out. They have everything you need in a grocery store. Prices are double that of Scottsdale, which is expected in downtown Brooklyn. But what was not expected was the inaccurate and different charges for same items. Same bread items were charged at $0.95 at one time and 3 @2.99 on the same receipt. We will make sure to check the receipt before leaving the store.
Aug 24, 2021 -
Decent supermarket. The deli counter is very good with a large variety of meats, salads and prepared foods. The produce leaves something to be desired. Most time I purchase produce here it goes bad within a day or too, so skip that. When the market first opened everything was way over price so business was slow. They caught on and lowered prices and now there are always some very good specials on sale. The market is bright and clean although there always seem to be stuff being unpacked in the aisles to make it hard to navigate. Speaking of the aisles, nothing is posted as to what is in each aisle. It is always a guessing game where to find various products. Checkout is usually quick and the personnel pleasant.
