The best auto service in Queens! Fast service. Love that it’s family owned and Ecuadorian ?

I went there for an oil leak on my jeep, I thought it was my oil pan, I brought it in to get the oil pan changed, asked to fix the leak. He changed the oil pan as requested and said the leak was fixed. I came back days later cause the leak was still happening, he told me to "wash the under carriage" that the oil was coming from before... I went to my brother who's a mechanic and he immediately found out it was my engine oil filter housing that was broken. I spent $400 which wasn't a lot for this kind of job but the fact that he didn't check the oil filter, and lied to me and said it's oil from before and that washing was the fix says a lot about his work ethic. Just keep that in mind.

Avoid at all costs. Shotty work. Rude when confronted about it. Very dishonest.

The only place to take your car. Luis is the main man and it isn’t his first rodeo.

These guys are the best, as a former mechanic / tech and classic car owner I couldn’t be happier with the service I received today. I stopped by for an NYS inspection and oil change for my classic Benz. The owner and the tech were both very kind and despite several other cars in the shop when I arrived they were able to quickly clear space for me and serviced my car immediately. I brought my own oil and filter and was in and out in no time and the prices were very reasonable. Couldn’t recommend more highly. They also got that snap-on drip so you know you’re in good hands.

I have. Honda Oddessy touring .Car was having issues they fixed and even found a second oil leak .They explained everything thoroughly and patiently .Lois is a Gem best experience ive had with any auto mechanic in NY since 2005 seriously ..finally found a mechanic I can trust with the most fair prices I have seen so far m Love these guys -

Highly recommend this shop! My friends referred me and I’m grateful. Luis is great. My car needed a solid tune up, AC charge and some brakes attention. Also NY state inspection. It was finished so quickly and priced very reasonably!

My car inspection was due, and I was searching for a place at the last minute. I've called plenty of places, and this place was the only place that accepted me and told me to come over. Everyone else needed an appointment. I appreciate you guys. I also had them check my brakes. The owner was patient and very helpful. The price was reasonable for my brakes. I would definitely be back for any car service I need in the future!

I had an issue with my car. Another mechanic told me just to wait until the engine check line came on because the extra noise could be too much to inspect. The mechanic at this shop actually took a look at it and quickly diagnosed the problem as a loose cracked muffler, center pipe, and gasket. He told me I didn't HAVE to do it now and could drive around with it. The cost hurt a little :) but I decided to just get it over with and do it. The car is now quiet and now sounds like it used to. I recommend them because they put in the effort to actually look at the car and diagnose it. And then fixed the problem over one night. Not bad and I will definitely go here again.

Great shop. Called same day for inspection and they fit me in. The inspection was fast and easy as well as an affordable price. I was so happy that I asked them to do an oil change. They gladly did so and did a great job, quickly. They even checked and topped off my other fluids free of charge. Bonus, they have a cute and friendly junkyard cat hanging around the shop. I will be recommending this shop to my friends and you should check them out if you’re in need of a good shop in this area.

Luis is a great, honest mechanic. I’ve brought my car over to him many times since 2017 and he’s always been easy to work with and affordable. when he hasn’t been able to do something he’s let me know.

Amazingly fast service. Was able to save the day by fixing my front wheel control arms in a few hours from the time I arrived. Very grateful to have this gem in my neighborhood.

I’ve taken my car here several times, and I always have a great experience. They are transparent with pricing and labor and don’t charge for unnecessary work. Always going above and beyond with their work, I can’t recommend Luis and his team enough!! Plus, the shop cat is adorable.

Had them fix the AC in my car. They were very nice. Had a leak in my compressor. They showed me their work, showed me the leek. Great communication, told me the cost before the work. Had it fixed fast.

Hands down my favorite auto shop. I made the mistake of going somewhere else after I move, but now I’m driving across brooklyn to go to Ambato. I trust Luis and his crew completely. Work is always done expertly AND quickly. They are also always careful not to do unnecessary work, and have always warned me about potential risks ahead of time. And the shop cat is as handsome as they come.

It’s THE BEST car service I’ve been in years. Came here to change oil on 2016 Smart Fortwo, this car is not a common visitor in car services in NYC, so I made sure to bring the 8mm square tool to open the oil pan. The oil change took 10 minutes and they also checked breaks and suspension on my car (both were in great shape).

Ambato has the best service of any mechanic I’ve ever used. Luis is incredibly kind and helpful and has cut me a break on parts when I needed major service done. He does a great job in explaining issues in layman’s terms and I’ve never felt taken advantage of. Even when he’s very busy I get my car back extremely quickly. I won’t go anywhere else. Also 10/10 on the shop cat.

Truly nice and honest gentleman. Explained clearly what the issue was with my old Mazda and fixed it promptly at a reasonable price. This will be my shop for everything going forward, from routine maintenance to more acute concerns. Highly recommended.

Honest, and hard-working. He's been working on my 2003 vehicle and always gives it care as if it were new. His prices are excellent and competitive, he charges you for good honest work. Really appreciate all the help, and fast turn around!

My brakes gave out and I needed to get them fixed immediately. I chose Ambato because of favorable reviews and I am glad I did. Luis told me to come right over, he fixed my brakes, no nonsense, fair price, and it was ready for my commute home. I feel as though I have a new friend. I'll go back.

I was visiting Brooklyn when i had problems with my car. Louis was recommended to me by a friend. He took my car in the same day and did a great job at a very reasonable price. He is friendly, knows what he's doing and his prices are more than fair. I recommend him highly.

I all of a sudden had some issues with my shocks so I brought my car to Ambato based on reviews. They were so fast, they took my car right away and it was done the same day. He also called before he did any work to give me a breakdown of costs and labor, and he showed me the parts that were bad and what parts he put in the car to fix it. Excellent customer service. Only tip for customers is pay in cash unless you want sales tax added to your bill - added additional $80 to my bill because I paid with card.

I've been seeing Luis for years because he's the most honest and fair mechanic I've ever had. I have an old car that runs well, but needs small things done frequently. I had a part replaced last year that need to be replaced again 13 months later. The original one should have lasted longer but the warranty only covered it for a year so I thought I would just have to eat the cost again. Luis didn't think this was fair, so he got the replacement part for me and only charged me for labor of putting it in! More recently someone hit my parked car leaving the bumper hanging off (but not quite falling off completely). Luis originally told me that I would need to go to a body shop, but when I told him that it didn't need to look pretty, just safe, he said he would take a look and wound up fixing it for free! I can't even imagine how much a body shop would have charged me. Over the last few years he's done a few very generous things like this that show me he really cares about his customers and running a good business. He's very nice and treats me and my car well!
