Following an 18-wheeler hit and run on my beloved 4Runner of 10+ years, I was connected with Jimmy through my sister who has been working with him for the last several years.
I knew as soon as we spoke that Jimmy was the best person for the job. He did everything in his power to save my car which he made clear was his priority from the very beginning. Within hours of my call, Jimmy towed my vehicle from the site of the incident to Red Hook where he and Manuel attempted to contact the driver of the truck with an estimate. When that proved unsuccessful, they assisted me in filing a claim and coordinated with my insurance adjuster. Both of them were very thorough in informing me of updates as they came in, and always made themselves available to answer any questions I had via phone and text. Jimmy and Manuel were always transparent and direct in explaining things to me, especially as this was my first major accident and there was much I did not understand. They took their time with me and treated my situation with the utmost care and attention.
After getting nowhere from filing a police report as well as my insurance company refusing to go after the truck driver despite a mountain of evidence/photos of the accident, Jimmy continued to rally for my 4Runner and worked with me night and day in assuring its repair. He was ready to order the parts and begin the work as soon as I gave him the green-light, which I desperately wanted to do.
After a painstaking month of back-and-forth with my insurance company continuing to insist that they pursue the driver of the truck, I reluctantly accepted the total-loss settlement and gave up my vehicle as its title had to be branded salvage since it was not registered in the state of NY.
This was (maybe unnecessarily hah) a very emotional process for me but Jimmy was by my side every step of the way- he even indulged me saying a final teary-eyed goodbye to my car before Copart came to pick it up. Jimmy is extremely patient, compassionate, and kind-hearted, and I cannot recommend Status Auto Care & their incredible team enough. <3

Amazing experience at Status Auto Care! I got the Gold Package and my car looks absolutely brand new inside and out. They also fixed my flat tire during the visit, which was super convenient and very much appreciated. Great attention to detail, excellent service, and very professional team. They do it all. I had a freak incident where a tire hit my car while I was driving on the highway (very terrifying). It left several tire scuff marks on my car, which Jimmy took care of it for me - quickly and professionally. He's the absolute best.
I cannot say enough good things about this body shop! After going through a really stressful time with my car after a collision accident, they went above and beyond to help me get back on the road. From start to finish, the team was incredible. They handled everything professionally and even picked up and dropped off my vehicle for me, which was such a huge convenience.
They also helped me out with rental reimbursement for some of the days I needed a car, which I really appreciated. When I finally got my car back, I was absolutely blown away. They detailed it beautifully and it looked like it just came off the lot! I’ve gotten so many compliments on how clean and shiny it looks, especially the wheels!

One lovely Sunday morning a drunk driver crashed my Hyundai Kona 2020 (AKA Konita) while parked. I had worked with Blaze who fixed my car when I was hit by a commercial vehicle back in October 2024 and loved the job he did to repair my vehicle. He mentioned his partner Jimmy’s shop at Status Autocare and I couldn’t have been happier with the service. First, they picked up my vehicle and informed me of the insurance process.Then, they provided the status of the repairs throughout the work with the vehicle and finally she was dropped off to my door when she was ready. I have known Jimmy for 3 years plus. I had a minor situation where a metal fence fell on my car and deep scratched the rear passenger side door. Jimmy quickly and efficiently made my car look like new, and of course like nothing ever happened. He also kept me abreast of his progress. Good turaround time, fair estimate, total professional. I do not know if I would take my car anywhere else for auto body work. Very convenient location and good hours of operation too.

Status Auto Care more than just detailing lives to the name. My guy Jimmy has been taking care of my cars for years now, and I wouldn’t have it any other way! I never step foot back into a regular car wash. The work is always done to perfection, and prices are affordable. Jimmy picks up my car just about every week. Oh, did I mention he does pick up and drop off too? Being a busy mom of 3, this has been a game changer. Jimmy never fails to keep my car nice and tidy!
