Be very careful with this place. I got my oil changed which was fine (hopefully) but they also told me I needed new brakes (rotors and pads). I was skeptical because I had these changed recently. I went to one of their competitors who was recommended to me to get a second opinion. That shop told me my brakes had at least another 2000 miles. Will definitely not go back.
Very legit. Been coming here for 7 years, always fair prices and good work. Worst problem is they are so busy but that is what happens when you're a solid shop that builds relationships!
Not sure if I just got unlucky here, but I had new shoes and pads put on my truck and it just created more problems. Everything seemed fine out of the shop, but within a couple weeks the brakes developed a violent shake and the rear drums would rub constantly. I had to make an emergency stop at another shop that diagnosed the problem as incorrectly adjusted brakes, particularly the rear drums. Unfortunately the entire system now needs to be replaced because of the damage caused by the incorrect installation. The shop may have made a mistake somewhere, because they seemed to be confusing my truck with another when I tried to describe the issue. All in all, a terrible and expensive experience.

Service was thorough and priced fairly. I was stuck in Brooklyn and they were able to service my car and turn it around the same day without an appointment (thank you!). They gave me advice on maintenance my car will need in a few thousand miles without trying to oversell me on any additional services. I genuinely feel like the staff here care about their customers and the work they do.
I was recommend to this place by the shop my boyfriend usually go to. That shop is closed on weekend. And this Carlos place has a very good service, quick and easy to make the appointment with. They are really nice
My partners Jeep Cherokee had an issue with the parking break. It would deploy when the car was parked but not allow us to take it off. The team at Carlos Alba diagnosed the problem and fixed it. Unfortunately the problem reoccurred. They sent a mechanic out, over two hour round trip, and he reset the system for her. Great service!

Came here for a NYS car inspection. He told me it would take 45 min, gave him my keys, left for a coffee, came back 45 min later to see my car waiting on the curb with the stickers on the windshield. Paid my $37, went on my way. Super easy and very friendly and professional service. I recommend!
If you just need a NYS inspection DO NOT COME HERE! They are mechanics looking for work and will find any little thing wrong with your car in order for you to fail your inspection. Please go somewhere else for your car’s inspection.
Have had recurring issues and previously went to another mechanic to resolve. Albas was a breeze to work with, faster and cheaper than the last mechanic. They identified and fixed the root cause, told me how to prevent it going forward, and did regular maintenance too. This was a life saver!

Stopped by with a flat tire and they were incredibly busy so pointed me to a place just a few blocks away. But when they came out to see how flat it was, they immediately stopped what they were doing to help me and fixed my tire in less than five minutes. Very grateful to Carlos and the work he did in repairing my airbag clockspring. He was realistic when he could admit my car to his garage and then he kept our agreement. As a female it is nice to feel respected in an auto repair shop. He did not speak down to me and explained exactly what was going to happen. He was very straightforward. Plus I enjoyed speaking to the others in the waiting room, too! Even though the part he ordered came in at a higher price, he honored his initial quote to me. I have been using Alba Auto repair for more than 20 years since they were on 4th Avenue and carroll street near MS 51 where I taught for many years. I don't know much about cars but I know that my car was driving odd, smoking out the top & the breaks seemed to be loose. Carlos took some much needed time figuring out was was going on & once he detected the problem he gave me a very reasonable price. The diagnostic + the replacement of an essential part= less than 400. My car feels so much better driving now & I feel a bit more educated about caring for my older vehicle. Thanks Carlos for the swift service and affordable prices.
Fair prices, top quality work done on time. This shop is calm and competent. The new location has room to park your car and leave it if they can't do your job right away. Carlos is great! Dmitri too, but don't see him too much anymore. Highly recommended!
Alba Auto Repair is an excellent shop. Carlos is always responsive quick and efficient. I rely on Carlos to keep my car running and can call anytime and bring my car over. It is reasonably priced. I have become friends with Carlis over the years and it is comforting to know that Alba is close and reliable. I highly recommend Alba Auto Repair.
Unless you're going to do all the work yourself, it's important that you trust your mechanic and the work they do. I've bought 2 cars from Carlos and both he's maintained. They are efficient, super nice, and reasonably priced. Having a car in NYC can be brutal on your car so it's comforting to know that I have Alba Motors on my side. I have recommended them to several friends who now use them as well.
