Got my car serviced here twice in the last year. Each time was for an inspection. Even got a free diagnosis for an ac issue I was having with steps on how to DIY the fix. Probably the fairest and most trustworthy auto shop in Brooklyn.

Do yourself a favor and avoid this place.
They charge egregiously high prices and treat informed customers with open hostility. They rely on the fact that many locals in Bay Ridge don’t question the bill, feel awkward negotiating, or keep coming back just because the shop’s been around for years. That doesn’t make them trustworthy, it just makes them comfortable ripping people off. There are plenty of solid, honest auto shops in Bay Ridge. Don’t be afraid to shop around. You’ll get better prices and better service elsewhere. The high rating they have is a joke, and they probably won’t care about this review anyway, since business keeps rolling in.

An outstanding shop staffed by exceptional people. From scheduling my appointment to bringing in my Toyota FJ Cruiser, the entire team was friendly, communicative, and highly professional. They kept me informed throughout the process, clearly explaining the issue and the necessary repairs. Patrick, in particular, is one of the hardest-working individuals I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. Although the shop stays busy, it is a true reflection of the quality of their work. I'm not local to the area, but would definitely come back here and recommend the shop to anybody looking for an honest, reliable, and knowledgeable mechanic. I came here for a pre-purchase inspection on a vehicle I was looking to buy. Called ahead and Patrick assured me he could squeeze me into a busy Saturday afternoon. When I arrived, Patrick and the team got to work evaluating the vehicle and gave it a thorough inspection. Even though I had just met them, it felt like I had an old friend helping me and giving me tips. They really went through everything with a fine-tooth comb and gave the vehicle an exhaustive examination. It can be a little nerve wracking buying a vehicle, but the 3rd Ave Auto team put my worries to rest and helped me feel more confident about what I was getting into. Highly recommend to anyone in need of a trustworthy auto repair shop!

I couldn’t be more impressed with the service at 3rd Avenue Auto! My car was fixed incredibly fast and the quality of the work outstanding. The team was professional efficient and clearly skilled at what they do. I was back on the road in no time and my car runs perfectly. it’s such a relief to find an auto repair shop that I can trust to do the job right. I’ve been coming here for the last 10 yrs. I had services done for a new bmw and an older impala. This place is super reliable and the staff are friendly. They make you feel comfortable and car is tip top after they’re done. Pat is my guy, he’s amazingly nice and is never too busy (which he is always busy) to ask how I’m doing. The woman that works the desk( I forgot her name) is a doll and is really nice to work with. Great shop with respectable prices.

Absolutely amazing shop. Worked literal magic on my car, rebuilt my radiator and fixed my front end, for a reasonable price. Super friendly and helpful staff. Because of how awesome they are it will always be busy, so make an appointment if you can. Can’t recommend them enough, I’ll never go to another mechanic as long as I live in NYC.

Patrick and Nick are like family at least they treat you that way. Knowledgeable, respectful and extremely good at what they do. I’ve seen people come from Queens to use this shop, I mean who does that?

Honest and fair work and pricing. I’ve come here for routine, and urgent repairs; they have never taken advantage of me as their customer. They prescribe to great communication, and feedback.

Showed up on time at the appointment they gave me and a bold guy said to return because he had other last minute people.

I woke up early and waited outside for an hour for my appointment time just to hear that he can’t see me because people showed up and he had to attend.
What’s the point of an appointment then ?

Disappointed - don’t rely on appointments - they don’t honor them

You have to keep calling to get somebody on the phone. It's the only con. Always been like this. Usually they ask for an appointment but I just dropped by late afternoon and the guy was willing to take me. It's an older Asian guy, he's very cool. As I stated before I've been coming here for years and he's been working with me that entire time.

This repair shop was excellent. Upfront pricing, and Patrick was very knowledgeable. The lady Valerie in the office was very busy yet helped us with our concerns. We definitely recommend this place.

Honest, hardworking, reliable. Been coming here for at least 15 years for all the cars I have owned. Patrick has always done an excellent job and the rates have always been reasonable. I trust them 100%. Nick is the owner, go into the office and look at all the photos on the wall, very interesting life he has lived. Also a really great guy. Highly recommended.

When I had my first car he called me up to tell me it's going to be an expensive brake job. But he did not want me to just take his word for it. He asked when I could come in and he would show me exactly what was wrong. He did!! He pointed out the cracked metal on two of the mounts and showed the wear on the disks and I was able to understand why it was going to cost so much more than a normal break job.

The way he explained everything and showed me made perfect sense.

That was 3 cars and 12+ years ago I am a customer for life.

Will not be going here again. Rotors back n front were done. Owner charged me the same price for all 4 and the 2 in the back were of cheaper value…. I confronted him n he stated that rotors get different ones in the back. He lied. I had other shops take a look and I was told the ones in the back are not as good as the ones in the front. I was charged the same price. Owner is a smooth talker. Watch what they are using to fix the cars. Expensive… And poor work…

Patrick really cares about what he does and he does a great job. Helped prep my 2003 out back with 200,000 mi already on it for a long road trip. Bang up job. Honest people. Good prices.

Great place to get your car checked and have it serviced for your run of the mill issues. I bring my 2 cars in all the time for oil changes, tire rotations, brake pad changes, brake disc replacement, water pump replacement, etc. Patrick who manages the place there everytime I'm over is courteous and knowledgeable. The prices are good and I usually drop off my car and pick it up same day for regular service maintenance and within a day or 2 for repair/replacement work. Would definitely recommend to others!

Patrick and Nick have an awesome crew here and take care of all and any problems. And if its something that they cant take of (upholstery) they recommend a great place that specializes in just that.

They are usually busy but can give you a good window of when to come back or might still take you right away depending on your car issue.

Great honest and trustworthy staff. They diagnose your car and tell it like it is. Never felt pressured or misinformed about a repair and I am not Mr. Goodwrench. Nick the owner and Patrick, one of the best auto mechanics I've had the pleasure of dealing with are great to work with. They do great work really fast.

They did a fantastic job doing an oil and filter change for my 2017 Mazda CX-5. It took about 30 minutes. They topped all the fluids, checked the tires and the pressure, and gave me a full itemized receipt. They have really good reviews on Google, and the two guys at the store were very friendly. Highly recommended and I will be going here now for all future oil and filter changes. Thank you!

Always fair prices and quick service. I've had all four tires replaced and both brake pads and rotors done here and I was blown away by how affordable the pricing was. These guys have never tried to sell me on something I don't need, and have kept my ten year old, 160,000 mile car running seamlessly.

Great group of people working here. Extremely knowledgeable, friendly and very reasonably priced. They've even squeezed me in several times for inspections without appointments. I definitely trust these guys. They are my go to mechanic in Bay Ridge.

I grew up in Bay Ridge, and I've passed by these guys many times over the years. I finally brought my car in after an auto accident. Nick and Patrick were both very nice and accommodating. Patrick went out of his way to make sure everything was taken care of, including calling me to keep me updated on my car. Patrick did such a good job, it's as if nothing happened to the car. Not only that, but he saw my car was due for inspection, so he threw it in without any extra charge.

I highly recommend them for anyone who needs their car serviced/fixed.
