Best bike shop around! These folks will take good care of your bike and get you what you need. I appreciate them ordering special parts for my Bianchi and making the bike run like new. Fair prices and even helped me save some. Love this shop and recommend it to all my friends!

I tried to buy a mountain bike from this company through the BikeExchange website. It was a great deal with clearance pricing from Giant, so I knew the bikes would be hard to find. I didn't hear anything back from the company within the four days expected by BikeExchange, but was assured by BikeExchange that delays may have just been associated with the Labor Day vacation. Subsequent enquiries reassured me that things were on track until I was informed 12 days after the order was placed that the bike does not exist and my transaction is cancelled. The bike is not available to buy anywhere else now, so no bicycle for me. Ride Brooklyn's incompetence has spoiled my Fall riding plans and I would advise prospective buyers to look elsewhere if you actually want to receive and enjoy a bicycle. I'll be sure to avoid Ride Brooklyn in the future.

I chose Ride Brooklyn because it was extremely well reviewed and after visiting my first time, the staff was very helpful with all my questions and kind. So much so, I decided to buy my bike there after doing a test ride. Although I really wanted to leave a great review, things really fell through that affected my experience. I placed an order for my bike which was quick and easy. And they quoted anywhere between 1-2 weeks. They only asked for my phone number and did not provide a receipt of deposit of half the price of the bike. They said I'll be texted when it's ready. After waiting a week and a half, there were no updates at all. I called to check in and the bike had not come. I checked in a week later and they received it and was waiting to have it set up saying it was going to be ready by the end of the week. The end of the week came and no text no updates, so I called to check in. They said it would now be ready after the weekend on Monday. Monday came, radio silence. And I called to check in and it still was not ready until a few days later. Though, I got a call that same day that it was ready, which was confusing. After picking up the bike, everything seemed good until I got home and realized that the paint was chipped pretty badly, which they did not mention when picking up the bike and it was very hard to miss when working with the bike. I acknowledge that this could be a result of being hit during shipment but being transparent about it and giving options to get it fixed would have been great. So I ended up having to buy paint touchup which does not match the paint on the bike. As you can imagine, after ordering a bike, being excited and have absolutely no updates as to what's happening with the bike for over 3 weeks is pretty frustrating. Then on top of it, the bike paint is chipped, and the stem is not even put on the right way because the logo is upside down. For a shop that has the amount of reviews it has and as highly rated, I expected much better attention to detail and transparency. Again, the shop staff is very kind and answer all questions and I can see that they are passionate about what they do. They definitely seem like a really busy shop but from how busy it was, came at the cost of my own experience with my bike. In the future, I recommend updating customers about their bike and the status of it in the journey, having a higher attention to detail and being transparent. I do think my experience is a one off and I hope others keep having top experiences as Ride Brooklyn is known to have

I'm not an experienced cyclist and wanted to get a rental for my brother. They were really busy when we got the rental and didn't help us adjust it at all. They gave him clip-on pedals (I didn't know that was a thing) and it didn't even have a kickstand... The bike itself was in good condition otherwise.

Incredible experience! I was unable to unlock my u-lock that was attached to my scooter. I brought it in to ask if they could cut it off. From the start, before charging me anything, one of the staff members tried to use some bike degreaser/lube to get the lock working again. He wasn't able to, but let me know that they would be able to cut it off for $20. I really appreciated that he didn't immediately start trying to sell me on new/replacement locks and instead tried to fix it first. I left the shop while they worked on it. When I came back, they let me know they were able to get the lock working again! It saved me from having to buy a new lock. May seem small, but very much appreciated the fact they tried to fix the lock before cutting it off, didn't try to upsell on their locks and were very friendly.

I want to give a big shout-out to Jake, the bike repair technician from Ride Brooklyn! I was participating in my 8th Five Boro Bike Tour today when, at mile 32, my chain broke. Jake came through with quick, friendly service and had my bike back up and running in no time, all with a smile. I’ve been coming here for about 15 years. Has one of the best bike mechanics I’ve ever encountered. Also has a great sales rep. Very close to an old school bike shop- with the ethics to match. Caters to people at all levels of society. Deserves to do well and stick around through all the changes in the neighborhood… and has so far! Here’s to many more years.

Good rental bikes for a good price. Wife and I took them all around the city with few issues. Very glad we chose these over the Citi bikes. Friendly crew at the shop helped a lot. Hope they choose to include lights with the rental package for future users. Would recommend.

My experience at this location was great. Friendly & Professional staff, I am very happy with my bike & the advice I've got along with the decision making process. Highly recommend this store. The staff team even shouted out loud "Happy new bike day" when I was walking out. Five stars all worth it.

Great bike shop! I’m an avid road/gravel cyclist and normally bring shoes and pedals but I rented a city bike for doing a mix of tourist-cycling and some training on the Prospect Park loop nearby. The bike worked great and came with the necessities (helmet and lock). Friendly staff and good bikes! I highly recommend this shop!

The bike was not bad, which is a Roll:1A, as the picture, $100 per day. I appreciate that the technicians helped install the bike with water bottle cages and a pair of SPD-SL pedals. However, I don’t feel comfortable with the customer service - disappointingly cold and unfriendly. Additionally, the tire pressure was less than 60 psi upon receipt, which is by no means suitable for road cycling. And I had to inflate it by myself.

Went in not knowing what to expect, and fearing the worst as I know absolutely squat about bikes, but I've ridden a friend's Cannondale mountain bike and absolutely fell in love with it. I knew I wasn't ready for anything more than an entry level mountain bike but hoped to find something I could use for riding around for fun, exercise, commuting, and most of all be affordable. Dan helped me out, and carefully listened to my needs and wants, and made some fantastic suggestions to me. I felt so welcome and excited about his enthusiasm for biking I bought a Giant Talon 1 on the spot. I'll be sure to pop in whenever my bike needs some maintenance, I want/need new accessories, and I strongly urge you, if you're reading this, to pop in. Best decision I made for myself in a long time.

Amazing service! Dylan was extremely proficient and quick in fixing my old single speed/fixie again. Last year I brought the bike in after work Friday and he had it ready for pick up later that day. After running the old bike to the ground I wore out my Chainring, freewheel, pedals and chain. I also had to give up my old straight handlebars due to arthritis. Once again Dylan did an awesome job and it is riding like a charm and ready for 26 miles a day commute. Thank you Dylan and Ride Brooklyn! Everyone is very nice and helpful there!

I rented bikes from 2 different spots whilst in NYC. The first was not great. The second was Ride Brooklyn. This place have great prices, the bikes are cared for and the people serve you with a smile on their face. These people live and breathe bikes. If you need a bike in NYC get it from these guys. Great bikes with helmets and locks. I'd recommend a lap of Prospect Park and then jam around Pier 2

tldr: Don't use them if you care about safety & can't check their work yourself. I used Ride Brooklyn for some normal maintenance about 4-5 years ago, and they gave me back my bike with the brakes disconnected. I swore them off but decided to give them another try recently. They did a "safety check" on my bicycle but somehow tilted my handlebars up and did not tighten the screw. While I was riding my bike, the handlebars rotated suddenly as the screw gave out and almost made me fall. I went back and the manager refunded the safety check, but ultimately did not tell me how this wasn't going to happen again. Don't use them if you can't check over their work yourself.
