Love the huge variety of West Indian brands.

Plenty of selections. Good sales.parking is not an issue. Very competitive prices.

Fair prices, do not use the bathroom by yourself, that goes for women and children, feels creepy, It is located in a secluded part of the grocery.

Good stuff, stay stocked. But not all of the essential choices. They really speak Spanish on purpose and that can make you feel some type of way, luckily I know of some and I catch them every time. Pros and Cons.. clean and organized. Fresh and updated. Prices... ehhh, I have food stamps, let's just say "I'm blessed"!

Its a bit pricier than other markets in the area except for the chicken. Plus there's a cashier I think she's Spanish like the majority of them, she kind of gives me the creeps, I feel like she's watching me and for what? I noticed her looking at my especially after I purchase everything. Black lady I make more than you will ever make in a year no need to watch me

Got everything here. They have fresh fish with a reasonable price. Meat and veggies all you need for your kitchen they have it

I walked 10 blocks to go to this Supermarket. I was looking for sausage links to make with my waffles. I noticed they were not in the refrigerated section alongside the other similar products and asked an employee who pointed me to a bin with assorted frozen products. I should have recognized this red flag but still wouldn't expect a supermarket to sell an item so old that it has mold growing on it despite being frozen. I would give you 0 stars if I could. I am about to go back for my refund. I will update with the results.

Local supermarket that has a wide and extensive supply of fresh produce and international foods. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable about the products that the store offers. There are a few supermarkets that carry the same products but here the prices are much lower, and this does not take away from the quality.

They need help understanding what is covered by WIC. A mother walked out unable to get her daughter strawberries because supposedly they are organic and not covered under WIC. I called the head of HRA and they confirmed that any fruit or vegetable even "organic" is covered. After i confronted them about it they said they hadnt had the chance to put it in the system because its a weekend and their boss wasnt there. Obviously they lied about the organic part since then they changed their statement saying they havnt had a chance to put it in the system. If they can't understand the importance of WIC to some people and don't understand what is covered and not responsible, they shouldn't have the right to have the system at all! Waste of my shopping time and money.

Last Saturday, May 20th, I purchased a few items, and on my way out, 17 seconds later, the non-uniform security guard accused me of shoplifting. He further accused me of not paying for the contents of the actual bag that I purchased for 5 cents. A scene developed, and I told the security guard that he should do his due diligence and report my behavior to the NYPD. There could have been five active cashiers at the time, and the one who serviced me came to my rescue and informed the poorly trained security guard of his ignorance. What a set...

Food world is too expensive but to me it's cheaper than some other supermarkets. You should definitely look at the register when your items is being rung up because some of the stuff that comes is a different price that is listed in the isles.

Place is always pretty full of produce, juices n all other grocery items. They do have good sales on certain product, sometimes. Their fish is good but a little expensive.

Everything is expensive. Best time to go is during a sell. They do not open on time. They say they open at 7 but dont. The females cashiers are rude but the guys are nice. Alot of the meat is nasty looking and smelling some of the food is open and some are past the expiration date but they will put little tags saying it's good by another date. I brought a cake that had mold at the bottom.

Well. food world wasn't bad but with the exception of the Hispanic workers in the produce area.they were a little bit out of proportion I asked two their employees to help me in located. Culantro. they were kind of like a little bit annoyed.they didn't even paid me too much attention they didn't directed me to where the product is located and I found a that to be a bit out of proportion because I myself l'am, Hispanic and we should treat people with more class. I love this supermarket my only issue is they are located in the middle class community and their prices can be a little high which I feel can be a little lower. But overall I give them 5 stars because I can find a lot of products there that are not in a lot of stores. And if you ask them about a product that you can't find they will see if they can order it.

Decent enough place, its a local supermarket that it seems has done a lot of upkeep. The store is well lit, and they should have what you are looking for. Downside. The cashier was more intersted in her phone than she was on taking care of us. Other than that its really not a place to save money. The goodside is that if you look around you can get some wonderful produce in a plastic bag for a dollar. Worth the trip if you drink a lot of fresh juices. Please hit the like link.

Nah. I love food world. They have everything I need 99.9 percent of the time. When they don’t have what I need, they always have an alternative! Caribbean/ West Indian, Asian goods, Spanish/Latin goods at its finest!

This place is a NIGHTMARE! Shopped here over 20 years (since it was Keyfood), now I avoid it. The Asian management/owners are EXTREMELY rude, dismissive, unpleasant & unhelpful. They profile & harass me while I shop. Luckily, Food Bazaar is 2 blocks away. 3 times bigger, more variety, better deals & much nicer management.

Food World has changed owners over a dozen times within the 15 plus yrs I've lived in Canarsie. It's basically the same with minimal upgrades in departments but the produce is always fresh and I've never has issues with any items purchased. They do have a diverse selection of cultural items which comes in handy since the neighborhood is diverse as well. They also offer home delivery with purchases over $20-$30. There is ample parking available within the mini mall which also house a few other stores. Deli, 99cents store, Laundry mat, MetroPCS, Daycare & Cab company etc etc

Some of the cashiers are rude and unprofessional.... some not all. I was waiting behind a customer who was arguing with one of the cashiers'... when the customer left I heard one of the workers say "where they come from they have no home training" I thought that was not only judgmental but very unprofessional. Besides that the prices are fair enough to be expected of a private owned grocery store.... I find what I need most of the time.

I went looking for watermelons and knew I would need at least 3. I saw some outside but they were in direct heat (sunlight), so I was hoping there would be some inside. Well, there weren't. I had some grapes in the cart. An african worked suggested that I leave my cart and walk outside to get what I wanted and bring it back to the cart. After a brief debate, I was able to push my cart and go get the watermelons from outside with no assistance. They need to work on their customer service.

Definitely a different grade or quality of food offerings ??????compared to other KeyFood run markets. It sucks for the neighborhood residents, they deserve a better quality of supermarket. That being said I only go to this location for beverages and other dry goods, not for meat or fruits or vegetables.

Food World exists because of the location in Canarsie where there is no other supermarket within walking distance. Fruits are usually not fresh. The vegetables fair slightly better. The meat and poultry look sick. Many customers bypass the meats deparrtment. Often times prices are wrong. For example beef chuck steak would have a sign in that section listing $2.99/pound. Yet none of the packaged steaks are at that price. Instead it is proced at $4.29/pound and no sales meat is in sight. On numerous occassions the prices at the register do not match the advertised sales price so I have had to request a refund after reviewing my receipt. Prices for crackrrs and juices are routinely higher than competitor's unless it is on sale. You rarely see any one shopping with a cartful of groceries because they shop for staple items and like myself must go to another venue for fresh vegetables, fruits and meats. Staff there are very friendly. But qualify is lacking. They do have a delivery service if you purchase items over $30.

I would’ve gave 4 stars, but I couldn’t for two reasons... The fruit (bananas + grapes specifically) always seem to be bad or expired. The lines are always long and they seem to be sort on staff a lot. Other than that, all good!

I agree with one of the reviews below about their fruits and vegetables not always being so fresh. Sometimes the meats look horrible and close to expired as well. Other than that, it’s convenient. Some of the staff members are very friendly and helpful. Just wish they had a few more vegan options like they used to.
