I wish your website were clearer. What is the difference between storage, loft, and upper loft? Loft and upper loft seems to be cheaper than storage so is storage better? What does it mean to be hinge? I tried looking in the FAQs and it's not there. Is this obvious to everyone else?

I’ve been here for a while now and unexpectedly this place is a nice little oasis, considering it’s a storage facility. Everyone that works here is always kind. They usually have cookies in the office and waters when it’s hot out. There are working gates at night and cameras so even after hours never feels sketchy. By far the best storage place that I’ve come across in NY.

I have been a customer at Lockaway Storage over 20 years, and I must say the service that I have received has been extremely professional, and absolutely the best! I can honestly say that if a customer falls behind on the rent ( The Owners) will definitely work with you! “That’s A Fact”! Most importantly they care about their customers. Miguel is a very nice employee, was very helpful. They sell cardboard boxes of assorted sizes for moving here. The office is a very interesting space with lots of vintage items and tchotchkes all around.

Miguel is super friendly and helpful. I’ve been here multiple times to buy boxes/other moving supplies and just rented a storage unit, and all my experiences here have been positive thus far. Miguel took care to explain every step of the process for me, and offered to show me around multiple types of units. I never thought a self-storage company could be so nice and have so much personality… Check out their front office and you’ll see (was offered fresh baked cookies and water, and the office is wood paneled and filled with interesting decor).

Total pros. Easy to lease, easy to move out, loading docks always available, staff friendly and competent, safe and clean, well-priced. Literally no issues. Amazing :) Don't forget the chocolate chip cookies in the office!

Highly recommend this storage company for 1 it is private owned. Avoid all those extra fees and headaches with the major companies who charge a arm and a leg. Lockaway actually cares about their customers I would definitely use them again!

A storage facility unlike any other! Have you ever heard anyone say their storage place had character?! Or has a koi pond?! This place is family run, and very well operated. The place is not brand new like some places you may find for a higher price. But it’s perfectly clean and I feel that my stuff is secure!

Had an overall great experience here. Tuli & Burnest are both awesome and helped make the transition in and out extremely smooth. Lots of parking space and the load in docks are big enough for huge box trucks. Lots of hand carts available too - awesome place.

This locally owned storage space is friendly, quirky, and reliable. They always have snacks in the lobby, which is a nice treat when you're hauling things in or out. We rented a space for a little over a year and a half, during which time the price increased only modestly, unlike what I've heard about other storage spaces in the city. I’ve been a customer at Lockaway for around fifteen years. From the beginning, they have been kind and reasonably priced, and they have created an environment in their office that is comfortable and warm. Easy access to BQE, the building is well secure and very clean. Keely and Burnest are the 2 most special people in this establishment, they are very professional, kind and generous. They are the the main reason I decided to stay with Lockaway Storage Unit for several years now. The office has WiFi and a section where you can do office work. They have complimentary coffee, hot chocolate and the office ambiance is rustic (very cool antiques). They should serve red wine after 6pm since the office is such a quaint and lovely place.

First time storage renter, and I’m so glad I found this place. Use of their very inexpensive cargo vans make this place a steal, on top of their already great prices. I have complete confidence in the safety of my things, their units, reception area, customer service and security were all top-notch. Also loved their homey and quirky reception area, with chilled-out music to calm stressed out movers. Keely at the front desk was so kind and really made sure I found the best unit for my needs. She was very patient and friendly and was always checking to make sure I had everything I needed during the move. The manager was also very friendly and accommodating and explained the contract to me clearly. I honestly never do ratings, but all the good things you read about Lockaway are true. This place really hits the spot in terms of price and service. Tommy very patiently helped us find the perfect unit for our needs, and even stayed late to make sure we found it. He's a gem, and the 24 hour access if you need it, and later hours if you don't, are a real draw for us. Our storage unit is in a container outside, and despite very heavy rainfall, it remained completely dry inside.

I went in to Lockaway to compare prices with other storage facilities and had a great experience. I spoke to a woman who was very polite and helpful. I felt like a valued potential customer from the moment I walked through the door. The staff there were extremely patient and attentive to my questions and concerns.
